Very clean, rooms were spacious and comfortable. Front desk was accommodating. This is an older hotel, but well kept. There is a nice pool and little beach area. We would definitely stay here again. It was centrally located in Key Largo, lots of shopping and good restaurants. read more

Our room smelled so moldy we had to keep spraying Lysol on every surface daily and it just didn't help. Everything is worn and just old looking. The pillows are like a bag of tissues under your head you need five to make one normal pillow. The pool was filthy with bird feathers floating all over in it. The tiki bar area ... really ? You can't get the poor bar keep a blender that even works for frozen drinks ? No music to play in the bar area ? No tv in that area .... So cheap and a complete "miss" . We won't be back read more

We stayed there because my friend did research and it was the cleanest and nicest in the area. She was right! It was setup as a motel style so the doors to the room were inside but the slider doors were leading to the outside. We got the room closest to the water on the first floor. (There were two floors). We had a patio with two chairs. The parking lot was pretty big and packed to the brim at night. Love how we were able to walk right outside to the beach. It's a small beach but it was nice with beach chairs available and a great view of the bay. The water was so warm but not too clear. We did see a couple of manatees swim right near us. There's also a pool area too. We only stayed one night and I really wish we were there longer. They had breakfast in the morning for us; it was okay. The waffle and pancake station was so packed so I didn't get any of that. I just got the bacon, eggs, and pastries. The lobby also has coffee! The room was clean. We had two full size beds, television, two sinks, and fridge. I thought the shower was weird; they didn't have a door to close in the shower completely so the water would drip all over the floor. This was a nice stop on the way to Key West. We stayed two nights and grabbed a water view room (we used the Hilton room selector app). The rooms are a bit older and could use an update, but hey it is the beach and it was spacious with a nice living room and outdoor sitting area. The breakfast was pretty good for being included - not just a carbo bar but also some hot food, good coffee, plenty of seating, it never felt too crowded. There is a decent fitness center in a separate building, with cardio and some weights. I also found a nice 5K running route that went through the neighborhood across Rt 1. Route 1 is a bit crazy crossing in a car or as a ped, but this hotel is in a location where the traffic is not as bad as the main area of Key Largo west down the road. read more

Decent and affordable. This place has a nice little beach and the pool is clean. He rooms are a little dated but they keep them clean. The service was ok. The breakfast was better than other Hampton inns I've been to. The hotel is located in close proximity to some decent restaurants and the grocery store. We chose this as a one nite stop because HI is usually very predictable in style and quality. This absolutely does not keep those standards. Obviously this was a MOTEL (yes, motel) that Hilton purchased and slapped the HI logo on. We had to change rooms because our first smelled of urine-- literally. And the second had a musty smell. The maintenance was really disgusting. We wouldn't let our children sleep under the bed covers. I sincerely cannot believe the high ratings. read more

Hilton Hotel does a really great job usually, maybe this was just a fluke... upon our late, accommodating arrival, the hotel lobby was beautiful and the concierge was really nice. The hotel room was nice and trendy looking... on the balcony, there was a bag of trash that was left out there. Additionally, the hotel room didn't have the typical bleach clean smell. I'm not sure if it's cause of the sulfur smell on the island...? When we were going to bed, all night long we heard the doors opening and closing and heard a heavy footed person above us. When we awoke the next morning after our showers, we walked around barefooted only for our feet to pick up all the grim on the unclean floors. My boyfriends feet were black. The bagged breakfast was ok. They give you two options- a bagged lunch with a muffin, breakfast bar and water or a bagel, yogurt and 2 hard boiled eggs. Check out was pleasant. Rose is a very nice young lady. When I called to adjust my future hotel dates, I made mention of my subpar stay at this hotel. The hotel manager, Jill, immediately sent an email apologizing and said they take cleaning very seriously. They do have COVID mitigation's in place. We stayed at the Hampton Inn for 3 days and 2 nights. We arrived to a clean 2 bedroom room but balcony the faced the parking lot. My mom really wanted a nice view of either the pool or the beach so we headed downstairs to try to upgrade the room. The staff was very friendly and was open to use looking at other rooms but unfortunately all the good views were booked. The lady up front tried her hardest to find a room for us and told us to come back around 7pm to see if anyone had canceled their "view room". We never came back to check (we we're already having too much fun!) but I'll always appreciate her efforts!! We loved the private beach, the wildlife (we saw manatees, iguanas, birds), every room had a balcony and breakfast was included! There's a beautiful sunset that happens right off the private beach. There's plenty of chairs, free beach towels provided, a pool for those who don't want to bother with sand, and a tiki bar. Speaking of the tiki bar - there's so much potential with it! While it does the job of making drinks, I wish it was more of a festive/tropical decor, making you feel like you're in the Caribbean or something! Add island music and BOOM! I would most definitely recommend this hotel and yes the stories are true - YOU CAN SEE MANATEES HERE! read more

We paid approx $500 a night which alone is way too much for the quality of this hotel. The room smelled musty due to the carpets. The sink faucet was not even screwed into the counter top and the shower spray sprayed right past the small shower wall which flooded the bathroom each time unless we pointed it to the wall. The entire staff were extremely (I can't say unfriendly) but any intersection was met with short abrupt answers and not one smile. I asked a housekeeper for a towel and thanked her. In response I received a grunt. As far as the receptionist at the front desk a turnip had more personality. The staff for a $500 hotel was subpar at best. I'm not sure if it's the heat that kills all aspects of a friendly personality or they just genuinely don't like people. I would have given this hotel one star for the value but I gave it 2 stars because the bed was very comfortable. I'll never visit this hotel again. Maybe the staff can be retrained to actually make people believe it is worth $500 and that they are not bothering the employees by staying there. The Hilton brand has gone down in value over the years. Another positive thing besides the bed was the complimentary breakfast. It was very well done and clean. We stayed here for 2 nights as our first visit down to the Keys. Honestly we wanted to stay in key west but it was so much more expensive than Key Largo. Ended up very glad to have stayed here though. For one, they don't charge you for having a pet (which is unheard of!!). The rooms were very nice, I would recommend a 1sr floor room because you have 2 chairs outside of your sliding door with some grass and lots of pretty trees, flowers and plants. They have their own private beach area with a tiki bar that's open from 3-8pm. This is a perfect spot for sunset! They have kayaks you can use as well! Breakfast is included like all Hampton Inns. Was very good and just what we needed to start the day. The only negative thing I could say is that the housekeeping forgot to empty our full trash cans when they cleaned our room, but that wasn't a big deal to us at all. They lied. The website says they have free wifi. They most definitely do not. They tell you to enter your last name and room number, and then it doesn't work. Then I called the front desk. They hung up on me. Then I walked to the front desk when someone else was working there the next evening. They told me to call a phone number. I did. After several prompts, it says you need a promotional ticket number . Then, I went to the desk and they said only they can enter it into my device if I give my phone to them. I'm not feeling comfortable handing over my unlocked device to a stranger who can't explain why the internet isn't working and is clearly covering up for the hotel. So, the only thing I can do at this point is to tell others to factor in the cost of additional data when deciding where to stay. This is only one of maybe issues with this hotel, including no option to opt into housecleaning (unless you go to the desk and tell them to do so), no info that it's not automatically included, and the decor hasn't been updated in nearly 20 years. I know because I was there 10 years ago and the paintings on the walls are dated from 2005. I gave them a few stars because the breakfast is basic but good, plentiful, and has lots of options to choose from with excellent service. The air conditioning worked well and they gave us plenty of extra towels when we asked. The TV had lots of channels. There's a little beach out back, nothing nice/fancy, but has a decent sunset in the evening. The perk was watching the huge iguanas out in the parking lot who love to eat fruit. read more

They booked us in with a price that resembled "a Highway robbery". The location is lovely, service excellent and property is located on a private small charming beach. View of sunset is spectacular and local birds, iguanas and kayaking opportunity completes the vacation. Staff cut off rentals of kayaks & paddleboards at 6, even though sunset wasn't until 8pm. And as mentioned, the room stank. Terribly. Soaked carpet from thawed mini-fridge freezer is the likely culprit, but based on the extreme stink of mildew, this is a recurring problem. read more

My happy place. I have been staying here at least once a year for the past 4 to 5 years. This is an awesome property with a friendly staff. The lagoon area is a beautiful place to watch the sunset, the pool is so refreshing and the room is clean and comfy. If I could give this place zero stars that would be more suitable I left a detailed review about my experience here in 2016, we got eaten alive by bed bugs, that's not the worst part, after thousands of $$$$ veterinarians would not diagnose what she got from this place, they all said she had allergies but she's never had allergies so it had to have been something she got from that room that week we stayed, we left early because we were experiencing bug bites and I told the family let's go, my poor 5 year old cat has had Mange!!! I only was able to figure it out after I got it on me from her laying on my bed, 6 years later she is finally getting some relief from the awful mange she contracted from this place, this place is incompetent, a total slum lord rents this out! For over 6 years my cat has been tortured trying to figure out what she got from here, they denied it at the time but refunded all of my money immediately, "they knew"! If I had this book of knowledge of what I know now I would have had this place fold up like a lawn chair, if anyone else has stayed at this place and has experienced the same situation please get in touch with me, we have less than 1 year for the statue of limitations to run out so please if you have a similar scenario from here message me , do not stay here, do not take pets here, it's been 6 years of nightmare and it's not over, I'm still dipping my cat twice a week to treat the mange but for the first time in 6 years she's improving, now I have figured out it's skin mites I also have to take 2 sulfur soap showers a day and finally I'm getting relief and it's slowly getting better, worst experience ever, for the health department's in that region shame on you, there are plenty of reviews about bed bugs, another useless government agency!! read more

Going to start off saying, never going back to this hotel again. The best part about this hotel was the rooms which is not saying a lot because the rooms were musty and did not feel super clean. The shower door was like a glass panel and did not do much, water got everywhere and you were basically showering out in the open. We were just going to tough it out until we went to breakfast in the lobby. The food was as expected so not bas there but the aspect that ruined our stay and ultimately forced us to leave within the next couple hours was the lady at the front desk. She was sweet, but it was very gross watching her floss her teeth and clean her ears at the front desk while assisting customers. I had a conference next-door at the convention center and pick this for the proximity. The hotel is not super clean and needs updating in the rooms. I took the cookie from the front desk and left it on my desk when I came back my entire desk was flooded with thousands of ants. I wanted to call the front desk but neither of the phones in the room worked. Completely dead. It comes with a refrigerator and a coffee maker but no safe which was surprising considering where in Key Largo in a tourist destination. Also the tiki bar closes at 8:00 PM which is a little early and it was not open on Monday night so we had to trek out of the hotel for cocktails. I would probably not stay here again even though I am a Hilton honors member and loyal to the line this one was below standards. read more

The other Yelp reviews helped me choose this hotel. It was pretty cold when we went on a weekend for a quick getaway. Hotel room was clean. Our view was facing the pool area. Outside of our building is a waterway where we seen manatees and jellyfish. We spent a little time at the bar as we waited for our dinner reservations but the staff was very attentive and kind. This is the place to stay if your visiting John Pennekamp State Park . The first evening we arrived we saw about 50 very large iguanas and a manatee mamma and her baby around 3 feet long . Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel which we booked on points. Felt a little Polynesian in the decor which was updated and nicely done. There was a small patio with 2 chairs and a table outside the sliding doors, leading right onto a Tiki Hut Bar (wasn't open while we were there in low season) and the small beach. Plenty of loungers and chairs for guests and the water was nice to swim in (even though I was on gator alert! lol). Go swimming early in the morning and you might receive a visit from a friendly manatee! I had a large male, then one of a pair of twin babies (calf? )come up to investigate me only a few inches away from where I was standing!! The pool is heated and good for exercise laps....with an iguana watching or lapping alongside you! When we arrived before check in time we thought we would grab a free coffee from reception and go for a swim until our room was ready, but the lovely gal at reception (she was amazingly helpful and happy - such a pleasure to talk to) had our room available immediately. 10/10. The room was spacious, comfy beds, big shower in the bathroom (water pressure was low and we didn't get too much water coming out so difficult to get shampoo out of long hair), TV, fridge, microwave, iron, hairdryer, the usual necessities. Breakfast was in the lounge area behind reception and was very tasty for a pre made meal at a business hotel. I ate cheese omelettes along with the potatoes and it was plentiful and filling. There are a few food items for sale in this area for those who don't want to leave the hotel, ice creams, candies, chips, microwave meals, etc. There are plenty of restaurants within driving distance and we went to the one the lovely receptionist recommended and had a nice meal beside the water along with live music. The only drawback was the WIFI internet access which kept fading in and out which made it difficult to check in for our flights the next day. We eventually went up to the reception and used the computers/printer there to print out our flight tickets. Next morning we had to wrangle iguanas so we could move our car. They were all out sunning themselves on the hot tarmac and weren't really interested in moving, especially the larger males who were strutting around waggling their chins at us. I found it hilarious watching my sister try to shoo them away - worth the points spent for that alone - hahahaha! If we are back in the Keys we will probably stay at this hotel again as we can use points and I want to swim with the manatees again! Plus it was a really relaxing place. PS. One of the local staff live on a boat in the bay and he is woken each morning by the manatees bumping his boat waiting for their sweet potato breakfast! read more

We checked into the Hampton Inn in Key Largo. We had drive from SC. When we got into our room we discovered the shower did not work. We call the front desk and a maintenance man came and looked at it. We were told there was nothing they could do. We asked for another room so we could shower and get some rest. We had to get up set with the girl up front (Mallory). After a hr they finally came up with another room. Hampton Inn can do better than this. I would not recommend using this hotel. read more

We checked in to the Hampton Inn in Key Largo for two nights in mid December. We were able to check in early. We were quickly and efficiently checked in, received our drinks and snacks as well as a map with directions to the room and a quick tutorial of the local restaurants. We went to the room, dropped off the luggage and that's when we noticed the hair on towels in the bathroom. We were only there for a few minutes, as we were heading out to go scuba diving. I pulled all the towels out of the bathroom and put them in the hallway. I also checked the bed since the towels were dirty, and there were eye lashes on the pillow cases. So obviously, off to a bad start. I went down to the front desk to ask for the bed to be remade with clean linens and all new towels to be delivered while we were out and let them know that this was gross. When I spoke to the young lady on duty she apologized and offered us a $20.00 discount on the rate. We came back to the room after a great day of diving to clean up and get ready for the evening. That is when we noticed the dirty bathroom, again. The long black hair on the bathroom floor and on the towel AGAIN! There were also multiple bugs in the bathroom. We were able to find two clean towels. I cleaned the floor, collected the hair, pulled all the towels again and put them in the hallway, except for the towels with the hair that I collected from the floor. That one I took down to the front desk to show the clerk on duty. At this point, I am extremely unhappy and frustrated. This is completely unacceptable and completely disgusting. The front desk clerk on duty got the brunt of my frustration, she said she would let the GM know and she would have her call me in the morning. The front desk clerk was disgusted by the hair as well. She also said that they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee and that they would comp the room for the evening. The next morning, we were up to go diving again. We did not get a call from anyone, so I took the hair back down to the front desk with me to find the GM. We found the GM at the front desk, she said that they already took care of the room for the evening and she apologized for the room, and said that is not the way they clean the rooms and that it was not acceptable or up to their standards. She said it would be addressed with their staff. We ate breakfast at the hotel before we headed out for the day. The breakfast is served from 6-10a right off the lobby. Pretty standard complimentary breakfast cold cereals, apples, bananas, oatmeal, breads, yogurts then one morning it was eggs, sausage, fries and the next it was omelets and ham. Pretty bland and nothing fancy. We did grab a drink one night at the outdoor bar area. It is a nice open area right by their beach, and if you are lucky Mango will be there for a visit and a picture! The pool is nice and right by the beach area as well. You can rent kayaks or paddle boards and launch right by the hotel and explore the area. The staff were nice and helpful and able to get our room fixed for the second day we were there. However, based on the experience and the less than cleanliness of the room, I doubt if we would return to this particular hotel in the future. read more

How many Hampton Inns have their own beachside tiki bar? Not many, but this one does. The beach area itself is understandably small, but it's nice and clean with a good number of chairs. The bartender at the tiki bar is really friendly, and his pet parrot Mango has free run of the place, which is very entertaining to watch. The room we had was very nicely decorated in an island resort type of style, distinctly different than the rooms of a standard Hampton Inn. The room included both a refrigerator and a microwave, and plenty of outlets (at least 10) for charging your electronics, as well as a few USB ports for charging those devices. Breakfast is included, and is pretty standard fare for a Hampton. Coffee, juices, bagels/toast/muffins, eggs, a protein or two, sometimes french toast, cereal, a waffle maker, etc. The front desk crew is knowledgeable about the area and can help you find what you want in terms of food or activities nearby. If you're an HHonors member with enough points, it's hard to find a value as good as this for using your points to book a free room -- you're at Hampton Inn point levels for a better-than-Hampton-Inn experience. There's a proper Hilton not far away, but honestly I don't know why you'd pay that much when this place is so good. read more

Our family had 2 rooms here and stayed Thurs-Tues. We came for a large event and other members of our group got a discounted rate at the Bayside Inn a couple miles down the road. We chose Hampton based on online reviews and great prices. I am really glad we chose to stay at Hampton (even if it was a bit more per night)! The staff was exceptional! My 86 year old grandmother had some specific needs and requests, all of which were provided with a smile. All of my interactions with the staff were great. The rooms were clean and if you get a room facing the pool/tiki bar/bay you won't be disappointed. Air conditioning worked well and beds were comfy. TVs worked well and HBO was free. Neutrogena bath products were provided and you can get anything you forgot at the front desk complimentary (toothbrush, razor, shaving cream, etc). We had the 2 queen bed room with balcony and it was quite spacious I thought. The bathroom doesn't have a bath tub, only a shower. This was fine for us but our companions with kids were disappointed. The maids did a great job and the linens/towels were fresh and decent quality. The hotel has a free breakfast that is impressive. Fresh fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereal, waffles, bagels/pastries, and egg & meat choices were served daily. The western omlettes look a bit bland but taste delicious! The "bagel bites" (egg, bacon, cheese on 1/2 muffin) were a favorite as well. If you get hungry later in the day/evening you can usually find some lingering apples/bananas/cereal in the breakfast room. There is a small store if you want sodas, ice cream, chips etc. We were able to purchase a wine opener there after several gas stations disappointed. I didn't personally get in the pool but it looked clean and well maintained. The tiki bar serves drinks off of the private beach until 8pm. There are some great couches to lounge there as well. The private beach is the real gem here. You are likely to see a couple manatee, some pretty white birds, fish and iguana. The sun rises and sun sets here are gorgeous and make for a great photo opportunity. You can rent kayaks for $20-$30 as well. I would highly recommend this hotel. It isn't a 5 star resort and I don't expect it to be, but it definitely exceeded my expectations in service and accommodations. read more

The hotel is well located, it's close to everything in Key Largo, yet the place is quiet. The area around the hotel is very nice and you get to see a lot of wildlife such as huge iguanas, birds, etc. Nice beach, though it is quite small and gets crowded. The beach is on the lagoon side and the water may be a bit murky. Staff is nice and friendly, breakfasts are typical for Hamptons, the main downside are the rooms and the building. They are really dated and it looks like they were last renovated 40 years ago. The rooms have connecting doors which are not soundproof, so you can hear everything in the next room. Overall, the place looks and feels like an upgraded motel. My main complaint were bathrooms, every time I take a shower, the whole bathroom gets flooded. Shower curtains didn't work and I had wet floor all the time. I guess the place is an ok value for money, though I will stay somewhere a bit more upscale next time I am in Key Largo. read more
