We spent a lovely time at Atlantic Bay Resort and hated to leave! The office staff were very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in one of the well appointed cottages. Squeaky clean including the kitchen area and bath, always my two biggest concerns. The cottage had a very comfortable king size bed. We enjoyed the dining table because we like to play cards in the evening. The outside areas were very clean and well manicured. The loungers, chairs, everything was spotless. Our last evening we came back from dinner to watch the sunset. We found they had raked the sand by the beach. Over the top! I would highly recommend this well appointed, clean, friendly resort. Classy, quiet and relaxing. 5 stars and we will be back! read more

This is such a wonderful find. We had a room booked for a couple days but upon arrival the room was unacceptable. We scrambled on Yelp to find another option close by and luckily found Atlantic Bay Resort about a mile or so away. The atmosphere is so nice with a few little bungalows and very nice rooms in a larger building. I can see myself coming back for a long visit sometime and simply enjoying the grounds. They are nestled in a bit of a cove with a nice little beach where I could lazily snooze on a lanai for hours. They have some kayaks and a cool airstream tucked over on one side of the property they serve continental breakfast out of. So happy we found them. read more

What a gem! We stayed here for one night at the end of our time in the Florida Keys. We were immediately impressed by the hospitable staff when we checked in. They gave us the key to our clean, inviting room with comfortable beds and a small kitchenette area. There is no oven or stovetop, but there is a microwave, a toaster, and a large refrigerator. We spent that afternoon swimming in the pool and paddleboarding in the hotel's small bay. The beach isn't really great for splashing around because the bottom is rocky and has seaweed, but it is great for paddleboarding and kayaking, and it's wonderful that the hotel provides these for guests to check out. The pool is nice too. Later that evening we got pizza and ate it while watching the sunset; it was so peaceful and beautiful. The only bit of warning I'd give is that the wall A/C unit is a bit loud at night. We slept fine, but if you need the room to be absolutely quiet while you sleep, this may not be the hotel for you. But that isn't enough for me to knock it down a star. This place is a treasure and I would highly recommend it if you're looking for a small hospitable inn on the water in the upper Keys. read more

Stayed here for my birthday weekend and had a wonderful time!! Check in was a breeze. We were given the keys and shown to our little cabin. It had everything we could possibly want in a room! Clean and comfy as well. A big plus was that all of the things to rent were absolutely free! Bikes, paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, etc. There's a private beach to do the water sports in, so we took advantage of the canoes twice. We even spotted a dolphin. Pool is on the smaller side but when we were there, it was completely empty. 10/10 would recommend! read more

What a wonderful find! The personnel were all friendly and helpful. We arrived very early knowing we would not get in for hours but when management found out, they got our room done early and we had a great one day and night stay there. We were there 22 hours, and we wished we could have stayed longer. The room was large and well appointed located next to the pool which is exactly where we spent our whole day. Great size pool, nice temperature, places to stay in the shade or be in the sun. The views are spectacular; a continental breakfast is served out of a streamline in a make-shift cafe area facing the ocean. Not a kid place per se but definitely a great place for adults that want to chill out. We will be back! read more

We found this place by luck site seeing the area. We booked our annual keys trip and spent 4 nights here. What a serene place to stay. We loved it! Our kids had a great time. They have a lot of amenities such as paddle boarding, bike riding, kayaks, a nice size pool. The place is very well kept . The staff was very friendly and welcoming, Thank you Lilly! The rooms were nice and spacious. The shower had amazing water pressure and the ac was nice and cold. We rented the efficiency which had a king size bed and the girls slept in a queen sofa bed. There was a kitchen with pots, pans, utensils, toaster, and coffee maker. We will definitely be back! read more

This is our little, quiet, out of the way slice of paradise. The cabins are adorable - clean, spacious, including a kitchenette with a full size fridge, microwave, sink, stove burners, and in some of them, an oven. There is dock space so you can bring you boat, tikki huts on the beach to enjoy the view, wild peacocks to keep you company, and tikki covered porches to sit and relax the day away. We came here for a good friends' wedding, and it has become a yearly trip for a bunch of us to all come here together as a way to get away, hang out, and decompress. I love little out of the way finds like this. The only drawbacks are that it isn't exactly the lowest cost place (but that is what you pay for staying at a small, private, secluded place) and that there is no ice machine on premises - but there is an ice-trailer within walking distance (right a the turn in road), so it is easy to get ice if you need it. read more

Ultimately, would I call it a 'resort'? Probably not. But we still had a good stay. We arrived late at night, but check in went relatively smoothly as our keys were left in the office mailbox (the office is not staffed 24/7). Finding our cabin was the most difficult part of arriving after dark as the number had fallen off the porch. Those could stand to bra bit more clearly (re) marked. Note that all the cabin units don't really have bay-views... Some do, but #4-6 at least definitely face the parking lot. So sitting on the porches was nice, but with limited "good" views, and more looking at parked vehicles than anything else. In terms of amenities, the cabins include a refrigerator, electric hot plate, microwave and coffee pot (standard hotel style coffee). TV channels were a bit lacking, but maybe this is par for the course in the Keys. Watching the sunset was a common activity among the guests during our stay. FYI, it doesn't go "into the water" at this time of year, but we had a decent view nonetheless after walking down to the beach area. Speaking of which, when it comes to swimming, the bay isn't really a viable option unless you don't mind wearing water shoes to avoid the coral and plants and whatever else lurks beneath. The pool was nice though, and we spent some time there. Grounds are well-maintained daily. Staff arrives at around 9-10am with leaf-blowers, lawn-mowers and the like (in case you are a late sleeper, be aware). Daily room service will replace towels and toiletries. Within walking distance, there isn't a ton. But I think this is expected for the Keys. The soda machine wasn't working during our stay, and there is no ice machine on the premises, so come prepared. The cabin we stayed in was recently remodeled, but we had to ask for a bedside lamp as there were none at first. There also wasn't really any storage space to unpack clothes. And if you're planning on using the pull-out couch, forget about keeping it out and continuing to use the kitchen or dining area. Space is a bit of a premium here. Overall, we had a nice stay, but given time in the area again I'd probably look for other options. read more

This resort is beautiful, right by the water and perfect for docking jetskis or boats. They offer kayaks and paddle boards and have lounge chairs to relax in. However, they only allow one parking spot per room. We arrived in two cars and were told we needed to park by US-1. We weren't exactly sure where it was, so when we asked, the supervisor yelled at us saying visitors were not allowed, we needed to leave or she would call the sherif. She then said she would be checking cameras to check if we were really staying there and who's car was who. In the end, the drama was over trucks that had nothing to do with our family. The following day, we asked for a late check out, same person told us no and that at 11, we needed to be off the premises. My family was loving our time here, even planning future trips but now we won't be back. read more

If you are looking for a place in the keys? Atlantic Bay Resort is a hidden gem. It has a beach, boat docks, a pool with a chiller because water here in the summer can become very warm. We stayed in the cottages and they are beautiful! The Kitchen and the seating area are separate from the bedroom and bathroom beautifully decorated and remodeled the front porch is a tiki hut patio. The management was excellent they took care of everything very quickly. Thank you for running a tight ship. We loved it and will be back. read more

We came here with a group of 8 this past fourth and it was amazing. Everyone there was friendly and the rooms and grounds were very clean and organized. The best part of this place is the view! When the sun comes down and sun hits that water it's beautiful! When your visiting the keys come stay here there awesome. They have so many amenities like the huge warm saltwater pool, grills and beautiful wooden beach chairs, paddle boards, and kayaks for any guest to use and a pier to dock your boat. Beautiful spot. Nice and friendly. Nice beach with paddle boards you can use for free. We had room 18 where the bed is uncomfortable and SUPER creaky (loud!). TV remote only works from the foot of the bed if you are standing up (seriously). Drains also made strange noises. Maybe a 3 for the room and 4 for the location, pool and surroundings. Beautiful and charming! Love the tropical landscape and decor. It is very clean and well maintained. I love waking up bayside with a beautiful view and finishing off the day watching the sunset over the bay while relaxing on the beach. We had an AMAZING time at Atlantic Bay. The cottages and suite 19 were updated, very clean and private. It had the inclusive and upscale feel that a large chain resort would have but with the quietness and quaintness of a private resort. The amenities were fantastic from the stand up paddle boards, to the pool, to the amazing sunset views. To snorkel under the new boat docks and see beautiful sea life ranging from a manatee to many many tropical fish was priceless. Having Atlantic Bay tucked in away from the Atlantic sets it apart for quality activities. The location is close to restaurants and Pennekamp State Park. Cooking on the bbq grills is a plus when you don't want to drive anywhere and relax at the resort. We can't wait to come back!!! read more

Stayed here for three nights with a friend before heading to key west. I have to say I was truly impressed! It was such a beautiful low key place to truly enjoy vacation. Great pool (can see the water from the pool), beautiful little beach area with tikis and grills, corn hole, giant Jenga and kayaks and paddle boards you can use anytime included. They had grounds keepers working on property daily to keep it looking brand new and the crew working on the rooms were very kind and checked in daily for if we wanted fresh towels etc and never came too early to check in which was nice! Our room was fantastic and clearly updated and maintained on the regular. The Beds were very comfortable. I could go on and on, I loved it! I will definitely be back, great place for families, couples and a group of friends as well! Atlantic bay resort really knows what they are doing. read more

Atlantic Bay was a gorgeous place to have our wedding. The sunsets were fantastic and the views were unparalleled. It was a challenge getting things set though, as the staff member that had been working with us quit just before our wedding. Stephanie and Kay really stepped up and made sure nothing fell off anyone's radar. Also the rooms were recently renovated and they looked amazing for our guests... So modern and a relief compared to some resorts! ABR has the goods on the outside and the inside. The weather forced us to move our reception indoors (fact: room 19 can fit about 50 people, flowers, a DJ, and two cakes in a pinch!) and due to the absolute chaos and weather destruction, there was a mess afterwards. The housekeeping crew were champs and did a fantastic job. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it for weddings. read more
