There is a full sized kitchen which is unheard of! The unit had more than what we needed for our stay. The suite opened to a little patio and direct access to the water. The waterside area was exceptionally clean, with lots of comfortable seating, hammocks, and BBQs. The pool area was also very clean and the pool itself was heated. Hotel is centrally located with lots of great restaurants a quick drive away. Check in and out were also quick and painless. Cannot wait to visit again!

Mold, active leaks, and zero accountability ruined our 25th anniversary…read moreI am deeply disappointed with our recent stay at Drop Anchor Resort in Islamorada, which was supposed to be a special trip to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The moment we checked into the #3 room, we were hit with an overwhelming smell of mold. Upon looking around, I noticed water pooling on the floor and began recording video evidence, which clearly captured water actively dripping from the kitchen cabinets and seeping up through the floorboards. The conditions were so unmanageable and unhygienic that we were forced to leave the property that night and return home. I drove back to the resort the following morning to speak directly with management. My husband, who is an engineer, brought his professional tools and moisture reading equipment to test the room. The moisture readings were completely out of range, confirming severe underlying water intrusion and mold growth. Despite the documented health risks, verified moisture readings, and ruined milestone trip, both the property and Expedia denied my request for a refund. To make matters worse, management has made zero attempt to reach out to us since to offer an explanation, an apology, or any resolution. Charging guests for an uninhabitable room with active water damage and then completely ignoring the issue is unacceptable. Save yourself the stress and avoid this property. The property has multiple violations & citations open. I wish I would've read reviews before reserving our stay.

We stayed four nights and limited room service is available by request. It's nice to have a living space, not just a hotel room, but the futon was very uncomfortable and stained. No other place to sit. The kitchen area is very small, the microwave was old and rusty. The bathroom is tiny. The windows in all the rooms are very small, which adds to the cramped feeling. We enjoyed having a place to sit outside, but it is in the hall in front of the other rooms, so not private at all. The pool looked clean but it's an old above ground concrete pool. The "beach" is not really a beach at all but there is a sandy spot facing the water with lounge chairs. (I know that description sounds exactly like a beach, but just trust me, it's not what you're picturing.) The parking lot is gravel and has pretty big puddles if it rains. Some of the plusses - the Keys are expensive, so this was the best two bedroom I found for around $250/night in January. They have two paddle boards and two kayaks you can use for free. They have a washer and dryer you can use for free. They include free K cups for their Kuerig coffee maker. I'm not mad that I stayed here but I wouldn't stay again.

It's a small family owned resort with, I believe, approximately 17 units. Jonathan welcomed us with a thorough orientation then walked us to our room and showed us around. It felt very personal and welcoming. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The daily coffee and scones were amazing! It was fun to get up every morning and see what new flavors of scones awaited us. We started every mornings with fresh, warm scones and iced coffee on the beach. We ended every day with a glass of wine on the beach, watching the sunset over the water. They have kayaks and scuba gear available for use at no additional cost. The grounds are beautifully manicured with friendly resident squirrels and iguanas. Lots of places to wander and sit in the shade. There are many great restaurants and other accommodations just a few minutes drive away. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in Key Largo. I can't wait to go back!

She is so kind and conversational, and offers guests complimentary coffee, hot cocoa and fresh scones every morning. How nice is that? She also offered me a postcard and said to feel free to write it out and the staff will mail it. It is just the little personal touches that make this place so quaint and special. The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of. Love the view of the water and the relaxing beach chairs. Our room even had beach towels and the most fragrant spa products. We were so impressed we booked another night next week coming back into town before our departure from FL. Such a nice place.

The check in process was easy and escorted to the room by an office staff member. Luckily, we got an early check in at 1:40pm since it's not scheduled until 4:00pm. That seems too late in the day to arrive and get settled. The room was hot upon entering so we turned on the AC right away. I felt the room should have been cooler, especially since we had reservations and staff knew we would be arriving. The room was nice and the full size refrigerator was convenient. However, the room could have easily fit two king size beds instead of two queen size beds. Ample towels were provided, including towels for the pool. Ice trays were empty and I feel this is something that could have been filled up while the room was being cleaned. Kitchen allowed recycling and trash to be sorted so that's a plus! There's one light to control the two rooms of the bathroom which means turning it on at night lights up the entire section of the room and not just a small light for the toilet area. The bathroom did NOT have a hairdryer (even though it was listed as being included in the room) and unfortunately, I didn't realize this until after a shower late at night. I ended up going to bed with wet hair. A tiny size shampoo (smaller than a travel size) was given but a travel size conditioner wasn't available. The room was lacking an ironing board and iron. The TV wouldn't turn on--the screen kept saying use remote to press for input 3 but it never worked. No WiFi code was provided. The office closed at 5:00pm and I wasn't about to call the after hours line since that would mean someone would have to come to the room and look at the TV late at night. I wasn't comfortable with that scenario. It shouldn't be that difficult to turn on the TV. There was only one outlet between both beds and the plug I chose to charge my phone didn't work and this wasn't realized until the morning. Good thing I wasn't relying on my phone for an alarm. This also meant other forms of technology were charging on the floor, out of reach. Given the fact the TV wouldn't turn on, I couldn't just fell asleep watching TV, even on my iPad since the device wouldn't be charged for the way home. Upon arrival, we noticed several ants in the kitchen and bathroom counter. Later in the evening, we noticed an increased number of ants. Not a big deal until the ants ended up in two toiletries bags and everything had to be dumped and cleaned out. It's the little things that make a big difference and I felt Ragged Edge was lacking in some areas, especially given the cost for less than a 24 hour stay. In addition, I would have to pack the items that were said to be available in the room since I definitely need a hairdryer. Obviously, I would have to go without an iron and iron board. Given the location and comparable price for this time of year, I would most likely stay here again but would make sure the TV worked and WiFi passcode was given for our unit at check in.
