I travel a lot and stay at a lot of Hampton Inns. With the exception of the friendly staff, this one is unacceptable. 1) it's grimy 2) no cups for either water or coffee in room 3) no laundry bag 4) rinky dink breakfast 5) handicapped room the furthest away from check-in. 6) no marked handicapped parking anywhere near the entrance. 7) bed worn out and uncomfortable. C'mon Hampton! You could do better and many do! read more

Hotel is going through renovations but still a quality nights sleep passing through Louisiana on our way to New Orleans. Both the lady who checked us in at 5 and the sweet ladies who checked us out made us laugh and gave us a few recommendations. It's right off the I-10 freeway for easy access. A little dated but apparently in the middle of a remodel. Room did not have an ironing board, but the lady at the reception was nice enough to check a couple of empty rooms and find me one. Not much in walking distance, but they recommended a decent place 10 min drive away. Overall, OK for a night but wouldn't make a vacation out of this place. read more

The people are very nice but the hotel is horrible. The shower curtain was torn, the bathroom walls were peeling, the door had been put through the wall and not repaired, the towels were like sand paper, the beds were anything but comfortable and we paid $180 for one night. Definitely not worth the money. Don't do it is all I can say. read more

The staff is the reason I rated this hotel a 5. The hotel itself is a 3. It's in need of some updating, things the staff aren't responsible to do. The staff were the friendliest, most helpful I have had the pleasure of meeting. I called on the way there and was directed right there by the sweetest desk clerk. Price was great, location was a little off the path but good, the room was so small, no place to put a suitcase. Beds comfy, AC nice and cold, got my Hilton Honors points. Reason for 3 stars: the walls must be really thin here. Cleaning ladies had a nice loud chat/party outside our door in the morning. Heard the girl vacuuming and cleaning so much upstairs we teased the building was coming down. In room coffee was meh but downstairs was worse. Shower head was meh, needed to be replaced. I'd return only if I couldn't find another decent place for the price. read more

This was a very disappointing stay. The room had visible mold, including on the ceilings, and all the lamps and light fixtures were rusted. The refrigerator didn't hold temperature, which was frustrating. The pool was closed and green for the entire first week, and the WiFi only worked intermittently. Overall, the condition of the property was poor, and I would avoid staying here again. read more

Not the best location for me. I checked into a room on the second floor I was there for about 15 minutes. The room was heavy smelling of mold. The sales manager went into the room and said he smelt it to. Latter that night I was feeling sick. There is no obvious Lysol cleaning here. Doors not tagged as clean. No working phones, microwave. Floor felt moist as well. The TV did not work, the manage had to come to the room to fix it by unplugging. Had to leave the TV on all night as it would not turn off. I was registered to stay 60 days but 2 days was too many. read more

Been staying here for over 3 years. From the first time I checked in I was greeted warmly. Every time after that was greeted by name. The manager Mr. Patel very accommodating. The all the ladies Stephenie, Lois, Kim, ( I know I'm forgetting one) plus Obi are the most pleasant people. Room always clean. Only stayed from breakfast once but great selection. read more

Two stars simply because the customer service was great. The gentleman who check me in was extremely polite, even at 1:30 AM. Had he not been, it would be just one star. This hotel looks nice in the outside and even in the lobby. Once you get into the elevator you start seeing evidence of water damage, mold and pests. The wallpaper is pealing, rat poop in corners in the room, smoke detector was removed from the room, mold is painted over and they lack big on cleanliness. read more

My wife and I stayed at the Lafayette Hampton on our way from Texas to Florida. When my wife showered on the night of our arrival, she discovered no active ventilation in the bathroom which resulted in wet floor tiles in bath and entry just due to humidity. When the moisture was wiped up, dirt and grime came up with it. The room was damp all night; mold and mildew issues are sure to follow. When I stepped into the shower in the morning, my feet left black marks on the tub indicating excessive dirt and grime on probably both the carpet and tile. Housekeeping is obviously not doing its job. Breakfast was scheduled from 6:00 till. 9:00 a.m. We went down at 6:05 a.m. to find the staff setting up breakfast but not yet open. After waiting 10 minutes with little progress, we left. 6:00 a.m. means 6:00 a.m.; the guests have commitments and schedules to keep; so does the hotel staff. I have been a Hilton guys for many years and spent numerous years while working as a Diamond member. I am now finding that more and more Hamptons fail to meet the Hilton standard and Hilton does nothing to enforce those standards. The Lafayette Hampton is added to my growing list of Hilton properties that are sorely lacking and unworthy of my unrequited loyalty. read more

It's summer. It's hot. We've been driving 10 hours. We arrive here and check in. Nice desk clerk. But none of the three ice machines are working. That's inexcusable. (Also no hair dryer on our room. I wouldn't have known to check for this except that this happened In yesterday's hotel. They did bring one on relatively short order. Room is done. Fridge is not cold. Lots of paint chips and scuffs and caulking deteriorating. read more

Now if this hotel was in a bigger city, it would be a 3 star, but comparing it to its local competitors it is a 4 star (maybe even a 5 star). The Hotel appears to be an older hotel, but has been remodeled to the Hampton Inn standards. The parking was a little bad. I checked in around 11pm, so I was probably the last one in and got the last parking spot. Also getting there late, there were not any more cookies left. Boo! This was a quick in and out trip for work, so I did not have time to grab breakfast there or use any of their amenities. Next time I come back to Lafayette this is definitely on my short list of hotels to stay at for the night. read more

Traveling with my husband, a Hilton diamond for sixteen years... we stopped at a Hampton Inn in Scott. LA. It was in the top 5% of all Hampton Inn's that he's ever stayed at. Stephanie, the GM, and Fallon, the desk clerk, gave outstanding service and made us feel welcomed and relaxed. I highly recommend staying here. read more

The woman who checked us in was not friendly at all and didn't give us any information other than writing our room number on the card holder. The bathroom had hair on the floor, a dead bug on the floor, and a push pin left in the trash can. When we came back downstairs off of the elevator, it smelled like marijuana. The beds were fairly hard and not comfortable at all. It appears that the hotel has been remodeled recently, but by the cheapest contractor around. Every electrical outlet in our room was upside down, loose and crooked. The tile in the bathroom had terrible grout lines and looked even worse where it meets the tub. We will not stay in this hotel again. read more

It might look dated on the outside and a little bit on the inside but trust me the rooms and staff are amazing. I can not thank Georgia and the staff of this hotel enough. They where all so kind and truly helpful. I just got out a bad hotel situation down the road at the Tru hotel. The manager at the Tru hotel was rude and kicked us out because we nicely complained about the room. That is a whole story left in the Tru hotel review. They let me last minute late at night book a room and after hearing what happened Georgia personally looked over the room we got. Which again thank you Georgia. They couldn't believe what happened to us at Tru and said that should of never happened. She told us what room we had and when we got in the room it was pure relief. The room was clean with not one stain in sight. The bed sheets where beautifully white and like there supposed to be. There was no mold or grime in the shower or anywhere in the bathroom. It was amazing to see especially after coming out of a bad hotel experience 15 minutes away. Do your self a big favor and come stay here you will not be disappointed. Everything was clean and nice and I will definitely be coming back. Thank you again to the whole stuff you where truly wonderful and made our stay amazing. read more

The ladies at the front desk are super nice and accommodating. The room was nice and clean which is a must. The towels were restocked every day the week I was there. The bed was super comfortable. However the pillows were too soft for my liking, which I normally bring my own every where I go but I forgot this time. They do have a complimentary breakfast every morning and I was quite impressed as normally you get fruit and cold bagels. But they had omelets, pancakes, sausage, bacon, and some kind of hot bagel with eggs and ham on them. The one thing was that the juice machine was not working. Quite disappointing to only have water or coffee. I was worried with how close it is to the highway but, I never hear much traffic once inside the building. All in all it's a great place to stay ! read more

First off this hotel chain is always our choice for overnight stays, but never ever will I recommend this location. The first issue was the lack of or zero disabled parking with access to the the front entrance. The other issue was that construction vehicles and trucks parked outside the front entrance that tool up 5-8 parking space by the way they were parked. The management should required these over size trucks to park in the rear of the side to make room for customer vehicles. Next checking into the room, I found a tool box in my room that was left by the previous occupant or a maintenance person. Either way made me thing was my room actual cleaned. When we checked out at 5:30 am no one was at the front desk. I waited for about 10 minutes and left my key. So I guess they dont greet guests as they check out. Now he comes the interesting part which leads me to believe the room was not cleaned. As I started my drive east on the highway I began itching all over my body. The itching was so intense that I got hives and started bleeding in certain areas. So was my room clean or was the room infested with bed bugs? Makes me wonder.....BEWARE of this location. Drive a few miles down the road and goto another location. read more

Just staying in this location this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised by how nice the Inn was. The rooms are a nice size, very clean and although I didn't take advantage of the breakfast buffet and snacks there was a really nice selection to choose from. The staff is really awesome and helpful in suggestions places to dine while visiting. Will definitely be returning. read more

I am a Hilton Honors member. We spent one night at the Hampton Inn in Scott, La while returning home from Florida. We arrived at about 4:30 pm and had pre-selected our room on the 1st floor. The king sized room was supposed to be AWAY from the elevators and ice machine (per the online check-in process ). At check-in, I walked up to the counter. No one else was checking in. The woman behind the desk did not greet me. She just said "she'd be with me when she finished". So I stood there at least 5 minutes waiting. Finally she asked my name and basically said "here are the keys...your room is straight down the hall". She did tell me that breakfast started at 6:00 am. She never acknowledged me as a Hilton Honors member. My husband came in because the process seemed to be taking a while. We walked to where our room was located. It was about half way down the hall, RIGHT NEXT to the elevator and ice machine. Three maids were standing in front of our room discussing "someone" who had asked them to dust everything, including the walls. They didn't seem too happy. One of them said "If we don't get all the rooms done, we can do the rest tomorrow". We decided that the room location was okay. There was a side door at the elevator lobby area. We went back to our car and drove to the side door to park and unload our bags. There was a sign on the door that said "for your safety, this door will remained locked". Well, it was not locked...we walked right in. Our king room was very clean and the AC was on, which was a good thing. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The furniture was fairly new. There was a small desk and a chaise lounge. The bedside tables had ports for our phones. We had a small fridge, which we used. The bathroom was ok, size wise, but not real big. We had plenty of towels and toiletries. There was no vent fan, so the mirrors fogged up and the bathroom was steamy. TV was a good size and WiFi connected quickly. The next morning, the breakfast area was well stocked. When we checked out, the desk clerk was very friendly and polite. All in all, the hotel was fine for the price and location. But we probably will not stay here again. read more

I'm a Hilton Gold member - my advice is to stay away from this Hampton Inn until their renovations are complete. You can expect renovation work to promptly begin at 6AM (in our case, on a Saturday). Multiple requests were made to the front desk to cease work above our room until we checked out. The front desk people responded with their apologies, but said that "there are signs stating that their establishment was under renovation" and that they were unable to do much for us. So after we were awakened by hammering and sawing, we were kept awake by picking and scraping. Ridiculous. Edit: the saving grace for our stay was Linda in the breakfast kitchen. Nice hotel for the area. I am a HH Diamond member and stay almost exclusively in Hilton properties. It's an older property that has been remodeled and up to Hampton Inn standards. Room is clean, Staff is friendly and helpful. Good place to stay at a fair price. Did not experience what others have reported so perhaps the place has had some updates. As another Yelper said in another market this might be a 3 star property, however after having stayed in some of the neighboring hotels in the area this is a 4 star for the price. read more

This hotel was one of just a handful we had a choice from and it was good. I'm giving it 4 stars but we had a couple of issues when we stayed 2 months ago. First, either the AC wasn't working or it's always hot in the corridors. They were incredibly muggy but hey, Louisiana in August is usually humid. But it was stifling. Second, our room AC didn't cool the room properly. I ended up taking the little lap desk thing and putting it on top of the wall unit so the air would blow straight out and not straight UP into the curtain. It worked. I didn't complain because we chalked it up to our luck. Some positives: clean room, good size fridge, good breakfast, hor'dourves in the evening, to-go breakfast bag, and very nice and accommodating staff. I know had I mentioned the AC issues they would have been resolved, so this place gets 4 stars. read more

Compared to my next most recent hotel review (Spirit of the Smokies in Sevierville, TN) this place was like a slice of Heaven. Nice rooms, very clean, great amenities (TV and nice strong Wi-Fi signal in the room) It was a little bit pricey compared to other places in the area, $90 compared to $50something at Day's Inn 1 exit away, or $70 at the Sleep Inn right next door. But, you get what you paid for. Even though we didn't arrive until around 2am (and therefore had to call on the courtesy phone to be admitted into the lobby) the girl working the front desk was very nice and helpful. It's so common to get rude surly employee's who act like you're disturbing them when you arrive at such a late hour, so her friendliness was a pleasant surprise, and very much appreciated after having been on the road all day. Very nice free breakfast, not sure exactly what all was available as my wife went down, but she brought me 2 fresh waffles and a glass of OJ, so I can testify that they did have at least 1 great selection and not just a bunch of stale donuts and some cereal, lol. Just to clarify, I'm not saying this is a "5 star" hotel along the lines of The 4 Seasons, Waldorf Astoria,etc. Just that it rates 5 stars for the type/price category that this hotel falls in. read more

2 stars feels about right for my stay here. This Hampton is below par for Hampton Inn standards. As a Diamond HHonors member, I have stayed in many Hampton and others Hilton brand hotels. The reason for my rating is a combination of a few factors. First, my arrival. I felt very uncomfortable when I parked and was unloading my bags. There was a man in the parking lot just seemingly "hanging out". This wouldn't normally bother me, however he was smoking what looked liked a blunt and drinking a bottle of Budweiser. I checked in and got settled in my room. When I left to go find dinner a while later, the man was now inside the lobby and still carrying his bottle of Budweiser around. He went out the front entrance ahead of me, and I noticed that the vehicle he was in when I arrived was no longer there. Could be nothing, but still bothered me. Secondly, the room. The hotel is clearly old but has been updated. The halls are humid (it's February). My room had a strange odor to it and even with the A/C on felt humid as well. The toilet had dried urine under the seat in several areas, as well as hairs on the rim under it and on the back of the seat in front of the tank. Kind of gross, if you ask me. It did not look like anyone cleaned it after the last guest checked out. There were several long black hairs on the floor, stuck to something unidentifiable. The carpet did not look like it had been vacuumed recently either, as there were other unidentifiable scraps or crumbs of some sort in various places. Th furniture was old and the desk also had nothing on it- no lamp or anything. Just a bare,dark desk. Overall, not pleased. I would not stay here again, and in fact I checked out the next day - 3 days before the end of my planned stay. Sorry Hilton, I have to be honest! read more
