Pros: -Close to San Jose airport -Quiet, safe location -Walking distance to a number of decent looking Chinese restaurants, including a large Chinese retail market called 99 Ranch -Lady who checked us in late at night was very friendly -Free and decent hot breakfast -Room was spacious and clean Cons: -Rooms are a bit outdated. My bathroom door was self-closing which was kind of annoying. That said, hotel has began renovating the rooms. -Picked and reserved my own room on the app, but upon arriving, was given a different room. -There was a weird humming noise that went on and off throughout the night (room 404). Sounded like the water heater of some sort in the walls was active. Overall the stay was decent. For light sleepers, I would ask for a room facing away from the highway although I didn't hear any of the traffic/car noise during my stay.

How you gonna say 2 queen beds sleeps 5?!? I mean it's either 6, or more realistically 4.... Smdh

Probably our worst Hampton Inn experience. Hilton online showed a 2 queen room that slept 5. Knowing queen beds sleep 2 each I wasn't sure if there was something I was missing for the additional person. Confused, I called the location directly to get clarification. The person who answered explained if it said sleeps 5 then it was for a suite that had a pullout couch. Based on this info I booked the room online about a month before our travels. A few days before our stay I checked out the app to verify the accommodations were accurate. Again I noticed the same 2 queen bed that only sleeps 4, not 5. I called again and spoke with Amanda, apparently a manager. She told me I would need to pay to upgrade the room or cancel the stay as the room only slept 4. I explained to her my previous phone call prior to booking and the info the rep gave me along with the assurance it was a suite with a pullout. I offered her to send the screenshot of the advertised room and description showing her "sleeps: 5" and my call log showing I called her hotel prior to booking. She was unhelpful in resolving the issue as she insinuated I chose the wrong room. After emailing her GM with no response and only 2 nights prior to our checkin I called Hilton guest services. They were able to reach out to the hotel, yet it was Amanda again who emailed me saying I needed to pay the difference or cancel the stay. Eventually, Hilton Corporate/Guest services was able to solve the issue as they could clearly see the online listing description saying the room sleeps 5 but with only 2 queens. The Hilton rep, Moustafa, was super compassionate and caring and comped the difference in the room prices so we could have the room that would fit our group. To top it off, Amanda later emailed me back that she had made a one time adjustment and that she made the correction, LOL... NO, actually Hilton corporate did since she and her GM FAILED TO DO SO! The room itself was outdated, cramped and right next to a loud, busy highway. Being that it was only one night we made due and vowed to never return to this location. The evening desk lady was super kind, sweet and helpful. I forget her name but pretty sure it starts with a "J". She's the only reason this is a 2 star reviews and not a 1 star review after this whole fiasco of blaming the customer.

Permanently placed out of order signs everywhere... Other ice machines also "out of order"...

Dumpy hotel, poorly maintained, and long overdue for a remodel. The lobby gives a false hope that the rooms might have been remodeled at some point in the last 25 years, but unfortunately everything is old, tired, damaged, and just worn out. Mystery stains and water damage on the ceilings and walls, and many more unsatisfactory things broken and "out of order" with no signs of ownership, management, or maintenance people caring about anything. Shameful and far beneath what I would typically expect from anywhere carrying the Hilton brand name. The only positive thing I can say is that the frontline staff were friendly and helpful.

We found this one on one of the beds.

It was good but we had some big problems. If the ere were no bugs I would have given them 4 stars. The front desk receptionist was great. But when I told the morning receptionist about the bugs she didn't seem to concerned. Also, when checked in two police patrol cars were there checking on a guest.

Had a business trip in San Jose and it is always hard to find a good hotel at a decent price especially in San Jose. Found this Hampton Inn about 3 miles from the office in Milpitas. It is located at the end in a court which has a large mall with many Chinese restaurants and stores. When I first got out of the car it was noisy as it is right by the freeway. I thought I will probably get a room on that side. Needless to say I got a room on that side but it was really quiet. Great insulation from the noise outside. Was greeted by Star who took great care of me when checking in and during my stay. They offer hot and cold options for breakfast which I had each morning. They have coffee and tea at al times. They also have popcorn and cookies in the afternoon. Nice lobby area to sit and relax and a big television to watch the game or the news. I will stay here next time I am in San Jose.

Complimentary breakfast. They have a waffle maker!

Despite that, I loved this Residence Inn, very great convenient location, staff are super friendly and the parking is FREE!! I originally had another place in mind near the airport but the parking fee $25. x4 days which I saved by switching our hotel over here. Coming back late at night we had no problems with finding a parking spot, we were lucky to find a spot close to our room. Lets talk about the breakfast that I read great things about, it is true from the reviews, really Wow! staying here for 4 days, I was worried we would get sick of eating the same items but I can see they have different selections, I can see the staff working so hard, when preparing the daily complimentary breakfast & happy to see there is rice, furikake and miso soup! Reminds me of another Marriott when we stayed at Hillsboro, OR. Breakfast staff are so friendly, they greet you with a smile, I can feel the joy and love, while enjoying our breakast. 5 Stars! I loved our room, it is very spacious! Enough for the 4 of us, My hubby and I, My son and his friends. We sure made use of and utilized the stove, dining table, and fridge. We were here for a film festival out in Gilroy for few days and staying here was convenient for us. Also close proximity to Silicon Valley companies, Cisco System and ScanDisk. Near Great Mall, 10 miles from SJC! Thank you wonderful staff, I look forward to staying here again! Totally recommend!

The atrium is a great place to sit, relax, enjoy a glass of wine, and unwind after a long day. It really has the feel of a much higher-end hotel. Unfortunately, the guest room was a different story. For the price of the room, I expected much better attention to cleanliness and maintenance. The carpet had numerous stains throughout the room and looked like it hadn't been deep cleaned in quite some time. The couch cushions were visibly stained, the tile floors were dirty with scuff marks and grime, and even the cabinet surfaces showed stains and wear. These weren't isolated issues--they were noticeable throughout the room. Overall, this hotel has a lot of potential. The common areas are attractive, the staff was pleasant, and the atmosphere is relaxing. However, the condition and cleanliness of the guest rooms don't match the image the hotel presents when you first walk in. I hope management invests in deep cleaning and refreshing the rooms because this property could easily be a four- or five-star experience with better housekeeping and maintenance.

I stayed here while attending a concert at Levi's Stadium and was pleasantly surprised, especially for the value. We had a room with two queen beds that was much more spacious than I expected. It also had a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator and cooking area. I didn't use the kitchen since we were only there for the concert, but it would be great for families or a longer stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was probably my biggest surprise. I normally don't expect much from hotel breakfast buffets and try to get there early before everybody's hands have touched everything. They had the usual self-serve items like waffles, breads and fruit, but they also had someone preparing eggs and serving bacon and potatoes. They even had healthier options like quinoa and salad. And the coffee deserves a mention! They had regular hotel coffee plus an espresso machine. If you know me, you know I love my coffee, so that was definitely a plus. I'm not saying run over here just to eat breakfast , but for a complimentary hotel breakfast, it was actually very good and added a lot of value to the stay. Another big plus if you're staying here for an event at Levi's Stadium is the nearby VTA light rail. I wish I had known about that option before our concert! Overall, this was a good value with a spacious room, kitchen, better-than-expected breakfast, good coffee and convenient access to transportation. I would definitely consider staying here again for another event at Levi's Stadium. -- Popcorn Travels

We were kindly allowed in our room early as our flight arrived around 12pm and we got to the hotel at 1pm. The hotel is situated next to the freeway with the back of the hotel right against a hillside where people exit the freeway. Being on the first floor, and being able to see the off ramp just gave me uncomfortable vibes. My wild imagination, painted a picture of someone getting out of their car, walking down the small hill and trying to enter my room. I asked to switch to another room and was granted this with no push back. I really appreciate that. The hotel itself is within walking distance of so many restaurants including IN N OUT. If you did not have a car this would be a very practical location. -Our room was on the first floor with vaulted ceilings. Despite this, the walls are very thin. I am not sure if the people above us were playing hide and seek. But there was lots of running around and stomping as they walked. So if you're staying in the first floor be aware it can be loud. Pros about the room: -Includes a microwave, mini refrigerator, and Keurig coffee machine -lots of drawers including 3 in the open closet and underneath the tv -small bench built into the tv cabinet, great for putting your luggage -large counter space in the bathroom -lots of lighting options -two hooks for towels (not sure why more hotels don't do this they only offer 1 hook if any) -Crabtree and Evelyn bath products which smelled nice) -breakfast buffet offered but not included unless you pay for it. We went back to our room in hopes of laying down for a little bit before heading home but the housekeeping staff decided having the door open to the room they were cleaning and music playing loudly was a better idea. To top this off, they thought they were auditioning for American Idol or something. Seriously, how could anyone mistake a guest across the way. Our sign was in the door "do not disturb " so it was obvious that there was a guest in the room. Terrible shower, no water pressure at all.
