THE BEST Garlic Knots in the universe!

Always solid! I've been going for years and have never been disappointed. Prices haven't drastically changed but portions have gotten a little smaller. STILL worth going though. I love the food!

Friends who live nearby Hampton Junction Deli really like this little place and took us there for breakfast last week. We're glad they did and wish we had time in the schedule to go back for dinner based on what saw going on in the kitchen. (We posted a photo of the dinner menu chalkboard to show the emphasis on Italian food and we have the reliable recommendation of our friends that the pasta, pizza and eggplant Parmesan are great,) The breakfast menu is narrow: eggs, potatoes, bacon, omelets and pancakes are roughly "it". But the cooking is good and comes from the heart. Hubby and I enjoyed perfectly cooked eggs and that's harder to achieve than you think. For the home fries that came with the breakfasts, we watched the cook's assistant (who also was our "no nonsense" server) cut up the potatoes before putting them on the cook top. Talk about fresh food! This is not a posh place for breakfast (the syrup served with my friend's pancakes was not real maple syrup, for example, the coffee was pretty much "Boyd's quality" and the rye bread for toast comes from a package). But it is place where pride of ownership shows and breakfast is good and inexpensive too. And given the tomatoes growing outside ("help yourself" the owner said) and the homemade pizza dough and Italian specialties being worked on that morning, we bet the dinners are very good. One important note regarding accessibility. I marked this wheelchair accessible as I post this review but the photo I posted shows stairs to the front door. The owner apparently has a relative who uses a wheelchair so they've made access possible through parking at the back of the building and a level in entry there. It would require a wheelchair user to enter through a kitchen clean up area and squeeze by some movable storage racks (Possible doesn't mean easy.) After an injury nearly three years ago that wheelchair user would have been me. I pay more attention these days since climbing more than a handful of stairs is still tough to do. So heads up to those with mobility limits to be clear about the limits of access here. Limited access seems to be the standard in the old infrastructure in this part of NJ and it is better here than in many places.

This is a fabulous place for both lunch and dinner as I've been there many times. it's a bit of a hole in the wall but the ladies who run it and cook the food are absolutely amazing. I love their Thursday night pasta specials. I highly recommend all their freshly made pasta especially their stuffed raviolis OMG. Their salad salad dressing desserts and service are outstanding. This is not a big city pasta joint so keep in mind of its country location. I have even driven out of my way to have a meal here. Thank you ladies!

Hampton Junction is so much more than a deli. It's one of the best Italian restaurants in New Jersey. Make sure you get a reservation even for a weekday. I had the best chicken Parm last night. The veal was a little tough but very good. Everything is pretty much a maid and a chef and staff are awesome.

Amazing food and great service! I cannot forget to mention the heaping amount of food one receives for a reasonable price.

Terrific homemade Italian food in rural NJ. The pasta is made fresh daily and the service / atmosphere if friendly.

I ordered a pumpernickel bagel with Taylor ham, egg, & cheese. The fillings were good but oddly the pumpernickel (which looked right) didn't taste right. It wasn't inedible but it was missing an ingredient (rye or molasses or something), it just tasted like oddly plain bread. Pumpernickel is my favorite go-to, so I was a bit disappointed. My spouse had a dried tomato bagel with the same fillings as mine & he enjoyed his. I would say that the restaurant could use a bit of a refresh, along with boxes opened up & dealt with (ex: several boxes of tables or chairs lying on the ground). I needed to take a headache pill while there & sadly there was no access to drink a little tap water (I did find a cup and some ice and managed with that). I think this location has potential especially with its location, but hope they might have some time to put in a bit more detail to freshening the space, a bit of elbow grease, and ensuring proper ingredients. I wanted to end with the positive note that I did like that they seem to be creating unique cream cheese and bagel flavors that I haven't seen elsewhere.

This place has been a go-to neighborhood deli for years, and it's easy to see why. It's a quaint spot that's built its reputation on consistently fresh, high-quality sandwiches and genuinely great service. People in town don't just like it, they respect it. It's one of those places locals will recommend without hesitation, and once you go, you get it. This is a small, classic deli where you order, grab your food, and go. Honestly, that's part of the charm. It feels authentic in the best way possible. Just a solid, well-run spot that focuses on doing one thing really well: making incredible sandwiches. Everything tastes fresh, the portions are generous, and the quality is exactly what you want from a true Jersey deli. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Places like this are getting harder to find, and Longfellow's has managed to stay a staple in the Morristown community for a reason. Whether you're a local or just passing through, it's 100% worth the stop.
