Visited the Inn with my friend for an early brunch on a Sunday. We came in with no reservation and there seemed to be some confusion about table availability even though the restaurant was practically empty. We sat at the bar. Service was a little slow but eventually we placed orders my friend got the mimosa flight which came with 4 flavors in such a cute serving board that was nicely labeled. For food we went with the crab cake Benedict and the lamb shakshuka. The shashuka was my dish and when it came I could smell the aromas from the sauce and lamb it came with two pieces of toasted bread as well. The flavors were perfect. The dish was outstanding very savory and filling. I tried a bite of my friends crab cake and it was also really good and the portion size was large. Overall this was a delicious meal and I would return to this restaurant if I'm in the area visiting again. read more

Our server was just fine - seemed robotic. For a place with higher end food and atmosphere I would expect server with some personality and engagement and to not feel rushed. If you're looking for a brunch spot, I highly recommend The Inn at Glen Gardner! The Inn has been one of my favorite restaurants since they opened, so I knew their brunch would not disappoint. We went to brunch with a group of 6, including 1 child - as they offer a kid's brunch menu. Everyone raved about their meals, drinks, and the service! Our table had a few dietary restrictions and our server, Annie, made helpful suggestions to ensure everyone was happy with their meal! For my meal I ordered the Savory Pancakes - a wonderful flavor combination with a warm/spicy kick (crispy pork belly, shredded cabbage and carrots, sambal aioli, Korean bbq). The portions are ample, so don't be surprised if you take home leftovers! *the picture does not do this meal justice! I can understand the hit or miss reviews for this place, you'll observe this in the review below. Its our first time at the Inn at Glen Gardener. We've visited its previous incarnations at the same location many times over the years. The renovations are complete and the interior has a beautiful rustic tavern feel. The staff were polite. We started with cocktails, the grey goose martini was great but the black smoke manhattan while good was too watery. The wine options by the glass were average, nothing inspiring and the Oregon pinot noir was bland. The calamari appetizer was lukewarm and salty and otherwise average, the deviled eggs with skirt steak topping were good and would have been great if they hadn't been over salted. The pork chop entree again was good and would have been wonderful if it wasn't over salted. The house smashburger had to be sent back (thankfully they offered to take it off the check). The burger was ordered medium rare and the server said the kitchen only cooks the burgers one way - medium - we confirmed that a medium - pink center - burger was ok but when it arrived it was well done, fully cooked with no pink... the server stated it was medium but it obviously wasn't. Really wanted to like this place as the atmosphere is great but at the prices on the menu $26-36 per entree with a $50+ steak there are honestly several better options locally . read more

Had dinner last night with friends and overall enjoyed ourselves. The appetizers were delicious (deviled eggs and wings), the Caesar salad was bland (needed more dressing), our main entrees (pork chop and filet mignon) were amazing and the desserts (snickers parfait was too sweet and strawberry shortcake was very dry and dense) were disappointing. The cocktails were great, service was ok and the food runner had no clue who ordered what item and would just throw down the dishes on the table in front of anyone. Would have given 5 stars but because of the horrible desserts and the food runner only gave 4 stars. Will go back but know not to have dessert. read more

Amazing meal! We started with the lettuce wraps and shrimp and grits. The grits were cut like grit fries, perfect for sharing. The pork belly in the lettuce wraps was so tender and crispy that balanced perfectly with the pickled vegetables on top. Both appetizers were some of the best things we've eaten in a long time! For dinner I had the filet, cooked perfect medium rare, with crispy but creamy potatoes. My husband got the house smash burger. He said it was one of the best burgers he's ever had. You could tell all the care that went into it, the pork belly, the rosemary Mayo, balsamic onions it all just worked together so nicely. Drinks were also good, ambience and service was great. This Restaurant is top notch the food is excellent both my wife and I shared the Lemon grass mango chicken wings and they were absolutely delicious. We then both ordered the pork chop with a apple chutney and roasted potatoes and Vegetables. It basically melted in your mouth and you didn't need a steak knife to cut it. Neither one of us could finish the meal as we were full but will have the opportunity to enjoy it Again as a leftover tonight.
