Bought a house and have had them since march of 24' they came out the first time I called and I agreed to the visit every 3 months. It's been close to year and that was the only visit I received no calls for another service to schedule, nothing. Called them just last month to figure out why and schedule again, we agreed to a visit, put me on the schedule and thought maybe the system just got screwed up. No visit. Called again and they were perplexed as to why "stating I was never on the schedule." Was supposed to come today, called today and was told "oh yeah you're on the schedule for this technician, idk why you haven't been visited maybe they are running late." They called us back after about an hour or two and said "oh that technician was never actually here today and called out sick." Dropping them immediately and picking another service. read more

Came into house and sparyed chemicals on raw floor didn't have the common sense to ask us where we were working and what not to spray called the main office just to have a lady tell me she wasn't gonna do anything about it to talk to the homeowner yet it's their employee that did this. This is the second time a service person comes to my house for an appointment to spray and tells me his equipment is broke and he cannot spray inside. They also sent the technician I said never send back to my house because he was rude. I have been with this company over 10 years and this is how they treat long time customers. I first bought my home under the cloud of Hampton Roads Termite. They did the foundation work and Cleared the house for purchase. Little did I know they didn't complete the repairs and later I would have to call them multiple times, have them at my house multiple times and every time they are so nice about how they will ensure everything is done correctly. WRONG! They don't communicate from the operators that take your calls up to the GM! The ladies who answer the phones are clueless! Tim the GM although a nice person on the phone and understanding, is being run all over by his people. They are not communicating with him, delivering poor work and the ladies on the phone are rude and don't have a clue. Do not trust this company to do anything other than waste your time. They ultimately corrected what they did so very poorly on the first go around, but only after I inspected their work, had others inspect it and call them out. Save your selves time and Money and hire a company who can do the job right the first time. read more

Terrible communication. Not exactly even sure how this place operates. Had an estimator come out and I signed the proposal and was told I'd be called in a day or two. Three days pass and I call the office number and the receptionist said the GM calls people in order of proposals sent in. Fine. A week passes and I call again. Same answer. What's the point of the receptionist if she isn't the one making the appointments? A month later with NO CALL AT ALL, I got Talent Termite to come out, give an estimate and fix the damages within the month I was waiting for a call. read more

I would not use this company. In my opinion they overcharge. I have had other inspectors give estimates that were less than 1/2 of what they wanted. I am posting this to make others aware! They did $7,000 repairs in 2009 and wanted another $7,000 in 2017 to give me a clear letter, bottom line they did not control the moisture on the first repair. read more

I have been a customer since 1989 having Hampton Roads Termite do all my closing Termite reports.They would do a preliminary inspection when the house was listed for free just in case there were any problems and if so they fixed at a reasonable price . Hampton roads quotes us 26 beams needing work under the house. The beams were to be marked. When we went under the house to check the replacement needed. There were not 26 beams marked. They were going to charge us for more work than was needed for the home. There were several other companies that came and gave estimates. None were even close to the amount of work that hampton roads said needed to be completed. Their integrity is questionable at best. read more

I feel compelled to add a review for this company. They did my pre-purchase inspection for a house I bought in Va Beach. They discovered some under house damage, repaired it and treated the entire home. Some months later I was having new flooring installed and found some Hidden interior damage above the area of the crawl space that had been treated and repaired earlier. I needed to know if this were new or old (and inactive) damage. I needed that information ASAP so as to avoid holding up the floor contractor. I called Hampton as soon as the damage was discovered. After some scrambling on their part, they committed to having someone come out before 10:00 am the next morning. And they did. A crew of 3 showed up, inspected the damage and reinspected the crawl space to ensure there were no active pests. They again treated the immediate area and went so far as to drill additional holes around the foundation and added additional treatment there. I was really impressed with the timely response and thoroughness of the work done when they got there. I would add that I had previously signed up for their annual service which included a significant initial fee and (I think) a $200+ recurring annual fee. This might have prompted the great response. If so, so be it. Well worth it. read more

They never pressured me to sign up for a service, and seemed genuinely interested in helping me. It turns me off to be pushed. I've been a faithful and a delighted client for over 25 years. I was lucky enough to get Hampton Roads Termite & Pest Control when I first purchased my home in 93'. They have always looked out for me in taking care of my home. I have had them treat it as well as yearly services. I absolutely believe if you are going to own a home in Hampton Roads, you have to keep a termite contract on it. Your home is an investment. So you better protect it. So in all this time of having them service my home, I have never had a problem. Not one concern. That's how well they do their job. They contact me when the renewal is due. They set the service up around my work schedule. They make it easy to set up service calls! And did I say they are on time 98% of the time. It's true. Update: On the Monday after Pete left the inspection midway, insisting that the cause was a housekeeping issue, the apartment manger and the maintenance team of the property inspected and discovered a small break in a water line in the building my apartment is in and repaired it. TWO DAYS LATER...the flies on my ceiling were diminished by half. By Friday of the same week, all but maybe 10 flies were gone from the apartment. I may have had contributors to the fly issue in my apartment, but as I have stated many times in the past, they were never the source of the infestation. The flies were not coming from the animal bedding but would feed off the bedding once they entered my home. Thankfully, and with no help from Hampton Roads Pest Control, the source was discovered (a break in the water line) and the infestation was eliminated. My apartment is now phorid fly free! After two years of inspections and misdiagnosed determinations of a cause, I stand by my review and say again...do not hire Hampton Roads Pest Control to determine a source of an infestation. read more

We used Hampton Roads Termite for our termite/moisture inspection when selling our home. Their inspections were very thorough; we had a second opinion from another company and they discovered the exact same issues and recommended the same repairs. In addition to the inspection, we ended up having Hampton Roads Termite perform the repairs because of the reputation they have around the area for quality workmanship. We did have a few hiccups with the repairs, but in the end everything was handled in a complete, professional manner. I've been burned by other contractors in the past for other work, but I'm happy to say that they are more than willing to do the right thing to make sure the customer is satisfied in the end. Pete was a pleasure to work with and look forward to working with them again if we need any work in our new home's crawlspace going forward. There is a reason they have a great reputation in the Hampton Roads region. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a termite inspection and/or termite/moisture related repairs. read more

I purchased a home in the Hampton Roads area in June, 2011. As part of the transaction I received the usual fungus and moisture report inspection report from Hampton Roads Termite and Pest Control, Inc. The inspection report stated that there was no active fungus. A month later I engaged Hampton Roads Termite and Pest Control, Inc. to perform routine fungus inspection and pest control services. As is customary with a new customer, they performed a full inspection of my property. Upon completing this inspection they reported that I had a major fungus problem and would need to spend thousands of dollars to remedy the problem. At this point I determined that either their initial report was incorrect or they were now trying to con me into something I did not need. I engaged another firm to obtain a second opinion. The second firm confirmed that there was in fact a problem. That left me in a situation where I purchased a home relying upon a totally false and negligent report from Hampton Roads Termite and Pest Control. I have initiated legal action against them, but they keep using every tactic possible to delay the legal process. This firm is either inept, unethical or both. Whatever the case, avoid them at all costs. read more
