I signed up with Fox Pest Control last month after a route manager came to my door and sold me on their general pest plan. During that pitch, he specifically brought up mosquito fogging and mentioned including it in the $49/month price he quoted me as a bundled deal, since my neighbor already received this service. When the technician showed up for the first visit, it turned out mosquito treatment was never actually part of what I'd signed up for. What I'd been told verbally and what was actually in the contract didn't match. The rep either didn't know the difference or told me what I wanted to hear to close the sale, using my neighbors' service as a selling point. Instead of owning the mistake, I got two email responses from two different reps that read like AI-drafted templates with no one actually reading what I'd written. Both leaned on the same generic phrasing about understanding my frustration, but neither addressed the real issue: their own employee misrepresented the plan to make a sale. When I said I wasn't paying extra for something I was told was already included, the reply wasn't an apology or a fix. It was an attempt to upsell me to their pricier Yard Enjoyment Plan, followed by an offer to knock $10 off my current, wrong plan just to keep me signed on. If your employee misrepresents a service to close a sale, the right move is to admit it and either honor what was promised or cancel the account, not offer a discount to paper over the mistake. Every reply felt like it was pulled from a script rather than written by someone who'd actually read my complaint, which made the whole thing feel worse than if they'd just said nothing. In Nov 2024, I called upon Fox Pest Control in Virginia Beach to handle a rodents issue I had at my house. In discussion with their sales staff, I was advised that I needed to take the offered 2 year contract with their company as rodent can follow their scent for up to 2 years. Not having dealt with rodents before, I accepted the offer and signed the contract with them in Dec 2024. The first technician they sent to my house was outstanding - very knowledgeable and very thorough in his inspection of my property. When I asked questions about rodents being able to follow their scent for up to 2 years, he told me that this was not really true - rodents do follow their scent for some time and also try to access the property through their usual routes but, if the routes are no longer an option, they seek refuge somewhere else. After this first visit, I realized that their sales person manipulated the facts to fit his narrative. Since I needed immediate assistance, I had still signed the contract but this situation was always on my mind. For the second treatment/ follow-up, I asked that the same technician that had come to my home previously be assigned to my house again since he knew the lay of the land and would be better suited to confirm if I had handled his recommendations properly. Despite me calling their office for this matter, they sent another technician. This second technician was pleasant/polite but did not perform a confirmation inspection - he had excuses as to why this inspection was not going to be done. He did treat my property but I was not impressed. I ended-up educating myself more on rodents and was able to catch the loose rodent myself. I did let the next treatments occur but then called Fox Pest Control wanting to cancel the contract as there were as many mosquitoes as if there my property had not been treated. In discussion with their Customer Service rep, they agreed to reduce my monthly payment to $48/ month vice $60. Despite this, the treatments performed by Fox Pest Control were still not taking care of all the mosquitoes and bugs around my house. Because of this bad experience, I am cancelling my contract with Fox Pest Control. I have stopped all payments as this contract was sold to me under false pretense and the contract did not deliver on its promises. I have been a customer of Fox Pest control for 5 years and although they would spray as expected we continually had bug issues. Whether it was the occasional water bug or the ant issues we would have every spring. When brought to their attention they would say they will take care of it next time and nothing was really handled by them. We would buy traps or sprays and the issue would go away without their help. This past spring on a visit their worker suggested I get a mosquito treatment that would handle some of these issues since it adds more chemicals to the yard. I thought it was a simple add on and not much more, it was another fee, which we took on and it seemed to be working. We were contacted not too long after this ( 1 treatment was applied to our property ) and it was a competing service that used a different method of treatment to the property for the same amount and I felt it was a better option for our home. So I switched after being a fox customer for 5 years but never being fully satisfied with their service. This came just over 1 month after adding this service to our plan. When I spoke with Fox about my cancellation they said there would be a $250 cancellation fee for this new service as well as a monthly fee that was missed due to a cancellation of a credit card on our account. In the months that followed I lost my job so it took some time to pay this fee ($116) to the account. But today I paid that amount through their portal and sent an email that informed them that as the person adding the yard service didn't explain it was a 2 year commitment, that it had only been added for about a month since I canceled I would not pay the $250 fee. They are threatening to send me to collections over this money for a service they did not render, or explain the implications when they added it to my account. It's not like they serviced for months on this I didn't pay for the service and then canceled. I started the service 5/11/23 and canceled by the end of the next. There was one yard service on 6/14/23 and that was it. One time they came to my property to apply this new treatment and I immediately canceled. That does not seem right to do to a customer of 5 years. I would watch if you have fox service in your home. Make sure they explain all services they add to your account and that you are very careful with their upsells, they add fees for things that are not done to your property and they stick you in contracts that they purposefully keep vague to trap you in their contracts. When I spoke with Preston at Fox pest control about this issue, he said they will need this fee, that they have a 3 day cancellation in place, which is simply ridiculous, that I had time to review this contract. Nowhere in my account is there a copy of this contract that they are relying on. There are pics of the last time at my property, but nothing about this contract, nor was I ever sent this contract. Everette is an excellent and knowledgeable technician. During the initial visit, he answered all my questions about bugs and discussed the contract I had not signed yet. I spoke to several exterminating companies, even got stood up by one contractor who apologized and reduced his price but it wasn't worth it. Fox Pest was not the cheapest exterminator, but the company had the best customer service, was reliable, and followed up. I like that. Evereete is very professional and seems to enjoy his job. He promised to come back in 4-5 weeks because I really had a carpenter bee problem. I just knew I would have to call, but nope. He came back without me having to call the main office. I signed a 2-year contract at the request of my girlfriend listening to a door-to-door salesman. Besides the initial treatment, over the course of the contract, I never saw any other treatments applied. We had one infestation of hornets/wasps inside the house which was prompltly atteneded to. Do NOT trust Fox Pest Control! I have been a Fox Pest Control customer since 2019. Their tech came to my house to service my termite stations in June 2024. The tech removed all the termite stations from the front of my house and 50% from the right side. I called customer service to ask what happened and they were not sure. I took photos of the holes from the removed stations and photos so you can see the location at my house. I was told a different tech would come to my house to verify the issue. Her report seemed to validate my report. The Termite Mgr contacted me to say that he had gone to my to see the missing stations at the back and left side of my home. I told him that was not correct, the issue was not at the back it was at the front of my home. I took photos of the three "missing" termite stations on the left side of my home. and sent them to customer service with a report about the Termite Mgr's wrong report. The Termite Mgr, Marquel, called me a few days later because of my report. He repeated that my report was wrong and when I tried to dispute him. He said I didn't know what I was talking about. I told him I know what is happening in my own yard. I contacted customer service to complain about Marquel and the lack of assistance in fixing my original issue. I informed Fox Pest Control they were not allowed on my property without me being present. I made another attempt to resolve this issue but when I received a bill for the BAD service that had been disputed since it happened. I contacted Fox Pest by phone and email to cancel my termite and home pest service. The Customer Service rep asked if she could contact the Office Manager, I agreed. I received a voicemail stating that she was canceling my termite service but wanted to keep my home service open. A week later I received another $340 bill for the disputed termite service. I contacted Customer Service again and was told they performed the termite service, whether it was bad service or not, so I had to pay for the full service despite them removing a third of my stations with no explanation. When I questioned why I would pay for bad service, I was told, "There is no service guarantee." Don't waste your money giving it to FOX Pest. Go to a reputable company that has a history of REAL service. read more

Just bought a home in Suffolk that has been serviced by this company for the past few years for pest control, termites included. Well literally as soon as I moved in I noticed termite tracks in the garage. Called the company and they said the previous owners were on a plan to prevent termites and with regular inspections they never noticed anything. Like I'm no professional but if I can spot obvious termite tracks as soon as I walked in how can you guys not when that's what you do for a living. And what was the point of being on "a monthly service plan" if that didn't even prevent termites and you guys didn't even inspect the home when you came out. I lost count how many times I've revised my review and would never recommend a company so inconsiderate to bang on the door, ring the door bell and then bang some more when no one answers. I have never been so pissed off at a company in my life. We called to get a one time carpenter bee service. When we set up the service, they tried to sell us a reoccurring service which we declined. We were selling our house and just wanted a one time service. The technician came out and had us sign paperwork after he completed. The paper said something about reoccurring services which we pointed out wasn't right. The technician ensured us on his end that it was a one time service and that our signature was just for the service and they wouldn't be coming back out. THAT WAS A STRAIGHT LIE. The next month I got an email saying we got charged for a reoccurring service even though they never came out again nor did we want another service. I called to get it straightened out and of course they tried to say it was our fault and communication error until they listened to our first recorded conversation. They then said they would refund us and cancel the account. Never received it. Another month goes by and I get another email saying we got charged for a reoccurring service. Again they didn't come back out and I was told they fixed it from the previous month. Called again and they again blamed us and made it difficult to get a refund We had to call the bank to block the company so they wouldn't charge us any more since fox pest control obviously lied every time they "cancelled" our account. They often schedule appointments and don't show up. They will update your account that they completed a service when they never performed any work. Also when they do show up, make sure you stand and watch them perform the work; otherwise it won't get done. The biggest problem I have is it is impossible to get Fox Pest Control on the phone. I have a recurring contract with this company. Normally no problem, but they were supposed to come to my home, and went to my neighbor instead. Our condo location can be confusing and I understand the situation. I called and it took over 20 minutes to get someone on the phone. We rescheduled for the next day. After waiting a second full day, no one came. I called Fox the second day and was on hold for over 30 minutes. Then a recording came on asking for my information and stating I should get a call back in the next two business days. This review is for Aaron, I am a little late in writing it. I happened to be home when Aaron came out to spray the inside and outside of our house per our quarterly contract with Fox Pest Control. He came and asked me if I had any concerns or areas I'd like him to pay attention to and I let him know that we found a roach leg (only the leg) on the counter in the kitchen, but hadn't seen much since the last spraying. He explained that he was going to spray the outside once he was done with the inside for me. He was very attentive and listened to what I asked for so, put down a pet safe barrier in the house in the kitchen and offered to replace the glue traps we had in the kitchen. Aaron was very nice and found it pretty funny that my little dog was trying to protect the house when he came in, so it was nice that he wasn't annoyed with all the barking. Ever since he's come to spray, I haven't see any bugs, so I'm not sure what is different about what he did compared to other techs that came out, but they can keep sending Aaron to my house to do the spraying. It was very nice to have someone listen to my concerns and go to the areas that I was worried about. Keep up the great work! The other times our house has been sprayed, we haven't been home, so they haven't been able to do the inside, which isn't their fault, it's just bad timing, so I believe that is why we were still seeing bugs in the house after they sprayed. The house is also old, so there's a lot of holes and cracks in places we didn't initially know about when we first started renting. read more

I've been using Fox Pest control for a few months now and have signed a quarterly contract for pest control. They offer a pretty great package. Each visit is $125 and they will treat both inside and outside of your home as you prefer. They will call you a few days before each scheduled visit to let you know so you can choose to be home or not when they come (you obviously will want to be there if you want them to treat the inside to let them in). The first visit takes a while and you'll need to be there for it - they speak to your about your particular issues and try to make sure they are personalizing the treatment to anything specific you have. I had some ants in my pantry so they put some sugar gel stuff down for them to take back to their nest. I haven't seen an ant since and it's been months. They spray the outside, the inside, along baseboards, in the nooks and crannies, seal up any holes they find in the garage and other areas with foam, and can put out traps as well. It's basically up to you. I had a pretty intense inside home treatment and have only had the two outside since. I plan to have them treat the inside 1x per year and the outside will be 4x per year. But it's all covered to your preference for the single price you pay with your contract for quarterly visits. If you have any issues or something arises during the three months between your service call - like an infestation of spiders or ants or whatever - they will send someone out to address and treat at no charge. It is included in your service. How awesome is that! The same fella takes care of my home each time - so I have a consistent person I can count on. I like that. Also, he's super friendly and polite. I think his name is Darnell... An added perk: they clean all around your porch and home to remove cobwebs. So they clear them for all around the covered porch I have and lights where the little bastards congregate. It's fabulous bc I never wanna do that. Thanks Fox! I'm a happy lady. read more

To be completely honest this could have been some sort of mix-up but the timing is very conspicuous. I canceled my service due to hard times and after they sent me the email to pay to cancel they immediately scheduled me for back to back services!! They almost got me for an extra service charge before I had time to PAY THE $150.00 to cancel (it's a 2 year contract BTW). Make sure you fully read the contract when you sign and when you cancel immediately pay or they will try to charge you even more money! When Fox Pest Control finally did show up 5 days later to set traps for rodents, they demanded I sign a 2 year contract. When I refused to sign a 2 year contract knowing that I would be moving it did not matter. They said if I did not sign the 2 year contract they would not provide service. I then had to request a refund on my credit card they had already charged.. They agreed to refund my money and so I am patiently waiting to be reimbursed my money they took from me for no service. I called after a different pest control company was not particularly helpful with a European hornet infestation, and the guy who answered was initially very friendly, helpful, and understanding of my issue. He also acknowledged that the smell I was dealing with was definitely from the hornets and seemed much more knowledgeable about the situation than the other company. However, after he gave me all of the info and some general prices and took down my information, I confirmed the costs and said I would like to talk with my husband and get back in touch with them later today/tomorrow. When I ask them to leave, they keep pressuring me. I just asked the last guy to leave 4 times and he wouldn't go. We've been customers for roughly a year and without exception they have been one of the most pleasant companies to work with. Today Mike H. visited our property and we were not disappointed We have roughly an acre and he took care of our entire property. From resetting our traps, taking care of our seasonal insects, to finishing with a thorough cleaning of all the spiderwebs off of our house. Mike's attention to detail and professionalism was impeccable! And, after talking to him I found out he's a prior military veteran! A veteran friendly business, Double Plus!! It was a coincidence how we signed up for Fox Pest Control. It was a Thursday late afternoon. We had a young gentleman by the name of Thomas come by and asked if we would like to take advantage of their offer. They actually were at our neighbor's house and since they were in the area we could take advantage. He was super nice and friendly. After looking over what they had to offer, we couldn't turn him down! The initial price for a new customer was $99 for an inside AND outside spray down. They also cleaned all the exterior for cobwebs and any other types of mess. They also have a money back guarantee if we are not satisfied. So far we are very satisfied. OK so I have been using this company for several months now and had to sign a 1 year contract. One contract for mosquito and the other for inside bugs. So lets just say I would never waste a penny more for the mosquito spray b/c every time they sprayed we literally had to continue using the bug spray and candles the SAME day.
