Why 4 stars? Because everything that touches Seminole Heights is gold. --- --- --- I may be biased, but I feel like my neighborhood can do no wrong. I'm not going to claim that this was the best pizza I've ever had, or even in the top 10... but I also know that I visited during the first week, and that Hampton Station has plenty of time to perfect their craft. The business next to Publix has long been operated by more of the old school Seminole Heights. The new hipster generation took this space over, and it looks GREAT! Craft beer, pizza, and wings. I hear burgers will be around soon as well, and I'll be back as soon as that's true. It's amazing what a can of paint, string lights, and a cool sign will do for a place. It completely transformed from non-descript to trendy, in a very short period of time. The old gas station cover over the patio has turned out to be super convenient to keep outside diners dry during the rainy season. I'm stoked that Hampton Station opened its doors, and I'll definitely be back! read more

Yay for another great new business in Seminole Heights! I was, of course, happy to hear that Hampton Station was on the way. When I found out that a bike beer crawl that I was attending would be stopping at Hampton Station, I was excited. I must say, Hampton Station did a great job of accommodating our massive bicycle gang even after just opening. Hampton Station is a smaller pizza joint, also offering craft beer and wings. While the inside isn't that big, there is a large outdoor patio. They have a pretty good beer selection (which isn't surprising as 2 Independent bartenders opened the place). I got to try the pizza and it was delicious. Rumor has it that they will eventually offer burgers, too. Hampton Station will definitely enter my Seminole Heights food rotation. I foresee this being a sports spot for me as the big screen tvs, pizza, and beer are quite inviting! read more

Funky little place with really good pizza was what I was told by several friends. so I met up with a few of them after work and was pleasantly surprised by the beer selection and quality of the pizza. Then I found out from one of the beertenders that children were not allowed in the bar. SCORE!!!, how many times have I been in a bar when children should have been left at home with a babysitter. I'm not anti-kid but that just added a major plus for returning. And the pizza was really good!!! Well done Hampton! read more

We went today for the 1st time and were very pleased. They have a great neighborhood feel. Love the decor and the vibe inside. We ordered pizza with lots of toppings and an order of extra crispy wings. The pizza was excellent, without a doubt the best pizza we have had in a long time. The toppings were fresh and the crust is crispy and delicious. The wings were great too. We ordered mild sauce and I still thought it was hot, lol, but the wings were great! They had great flavor. So I actually drove past this place about four times before I realized it wasn't a gas station. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of how long the food took. We got there and found out it would be about a 40 minute wait for a pie. We had our dogs with us so we decided to go home and come back for the pie. Hampton Station is however dog friendly. Another guest informed us of the dog treats inside and brought us some. When we did finally get home with the food it was amazing. We ordered the veggie pie and added pepperoni. The veggies were really fresh and covered the entire pie. The sauce was really great as well. I am from New York and I tend to dislike any pizza I eat in Florida because they can't even compare to NY pizza. But this one put up a great fight. Was very disappointed in the food after first time trying it. I have heard multiple great things about this place. However, when I placed my order to go I picked it up and came home, my wings still had feathers on them with barely any flavor or sauce. There is a sign on the door that say's no children so we turned around and got back in the car. The yelp review say's it's good for kids so they should probably take that down. I did a double date @ Hampton Station, and it did not disappoint. This place is really good! I got the mild wings and a pepperoni pizza, pretty simple but big in flavor! It is a super casual joint, more of a dive but I really enjoyed it and recommend it! Just a note, at least inside there are no children allowed. We live really close so I'll stop at this little pizza joint every few months or so for takeout. The vibe is pretty neat, the food is decent (pizza a 3* and wings a 4*) and the beer selection is awesome. That said, we usually drive down to Lee's most Friday nights since our kids are usually with us. I really wish they'd allow kids at this neighborhood spot - at least outside, at certain times, or on certain days. We'd make it a regular spot! read more

A friend told me that her family really enjoys their pizza and they have great wings. I love pizza and wings, and this food left a bit to be desired. The pizza wasn't anything memorable, it actually left me thinking about a high quality frozen pizza, not one that took quite a while to bring to the table. Overhyped. Took family here, $70 for four people, one small pizza, two calzones, a salad and three beers. The worker at the bar did not like having to interact with other humans. There were six other people in the restaurant, two tables got food before we did, even though we ordered first. The calzones were barely warm, the pizza was cardboard, and the salad somehow came out last, and probably 15 minutes after everything else. I mentioned this experience to the friend who had recommended the place, and when I described the bartender, they said, "Oh yeah, [they] aren't very good, don't go on the nights [they're] working." This place doesn't allow kids, but I'd rather go to a place with kids that has good food/service than HS. read more

I was in the area and wanted to support a local pizza place. There aren't many mom and pop pizza places in the area, so to Hampton Station we went. The pizza looked good and they have some quality import brews on tap, so I was looking forward to it. My group consisted of 4 adults and a friend's teenage daughter. We were going to sit outside (where nobody else was sitting). Ah! What quick service! A waitress coming out to serve us almost immediately... ...Except she was coming out to immediately boot us from the establishment because they have a strict 18+ only policy. What a farce. I guess when you serve pizza out of a disgusting old gas station you gotta do everything you can to keep up the creepy stoner vibe. The best thing about Hampton Station is their carefully curated beer selection and the fact that each beer is usually $5. The owner clearly likes his brew and has a good understanding of beer styles as he always seems to have about10 taps with zero style overlap. Hampton Station usually has on tap a porter, pilsner, IPA, stout, cider, nitro IPA, wheat, lager, etc. This is one of the only places in Seminole heights where Guinness is always on tap. I'm not a huge Guinness drinker, however, I am a big fan of the fact that the nitrogen tank/tap which gives Guinness its signature texture is also used for a nitro IPA. This IPA rotates so you never know what will be on tap. Hampton Station is a bar - with bar service. You walk up to the bar, smile and say hello when the bartender makes eye contact, start a tab, order a beer, order your food, they give you something to identify your order & set on your table (sometimes it is a 12" action figure) and you enjoy your beer over insightful conversation with your amigos while you wait. It is a bar, so don't expect a hostess, don't expect efficiency, don't expect the bartender to desperately turn to you as soon as you walk up. DO expect: incredible pizza & wings, personable staff, great music, better beer. read more

Round two. After a terrible first experience, I vowed to give Hampton Station a second shot based on the reviews. Shit happens. La Chica and I popped in here to grab a small cheese pizzer and a few wings to share. The bartender wasn't the friendliest, and to be honest, she was the difference between a 4 and 5 star review here. I had a friend back in high school who scrimped and saved to buy a new car without the help of her parents. She bought a 1992 Toyota Tercel and brought the car over to show it off. I was surprised that it had no A/C, no radio and no passenger door mirror. When I asked her what the deal was, she said she took off as many options as possible, otherwise it would have been too expensive for her. So while it had no bells and whistles, it had 4 tires, an engine and got her from A to B. That is the equivalent of the service we got from this chic working behind the bar. We got drinks and food, but had to ask for plates and flatware. The rest of her time was consumed talking to another couple at the opposite end of the bar. So with such minimal service, how could I justify giving this place a 4 star review? Easy, the fucking food was outstanding and the owner obviously loves old school Hip-Hop. Who has a Yo! Bumrush the Show poster in their business? Or the Hip-Hop Family Tree comic book framed on the wall? The little Enjoy Record on the menu? I saw that shit too. But anywho, back to the food. The pizza had excellent sauce, quality cheese (possibly Grande) and thin, foldable crust. They use corn meal instead of flour on the bottom of their pizza, but it is a forgivable offense since they keep it to a minimum. The wings were large and in charge. Crispity, crunchity and very flavorful. So would I go back? Probably. Perhaps I'm just a glutton for punishment accompanied by good food and Hip-Hop nostalgia. read more

A much-needed neighborhood bar and pizza joint nestled in the Hampton Terrace area of Seminole Heights. I have watched several businesses come and go in this spot but I think they've finally nailed it with the type of business this area needed. It is a no-frills place with a good selection of craft beer and yummy pizza. What more could you want? The wings are also great, very juicy with a lot of meat on them. This used to be a gas station (or so I assume), and the pump area is now an outdoor patio perfect for breezy evenings. The patio is dog friendly, too. Staff is friendly and welcoming, which definitely helps give it a neighborhood bar feeling. Looking forward to many visits here! read more

I moved to Seminole Heights about two weeks ago from NH. As soon as I was done moving my stuff inside my new house, my friend said there was a pizza joint walking distance with great German Pilsners. He insisted on the White pizza, which I am not normally keen on. Hampton Station is a gift and a curse. The pizza is some of the best I've ever had. I also highly recommend the Supreme pizza as well. As for beers, the Veltins German Pilsner is as refreshing as it gets. A beer you can drink all day and not feel full. I also love the atmosphere. As a music junkie, it's cool to see all the vintage music posters and action figures; my personal favorite is Flava Flav behind the bar. I go to Hampton Station about twice a week and I will not be slowing down anytime soon... read more

My first visit. I got Supreme pizza and hot wings. The pizza looked great with fresh looking ingredients and was cooked perfectly. Both the wings and pizza were so salty I could barely stand it. Living in Seminole Heights I was very excited to have another local spot to frequent. I have been here a handful of times with mixed reviews. That is why it earns 3 stars. The first time the pizza was great and the beer was locally brewed and ice cold. The most recent time not so enjoyable. We (my husband and I) sat at the bar and ordered a calzone and wings. We watched our food die in the window while what I can only imagine was the owner downing his beer placed under the drafts. Not cool guy. The calzone had a sweet taste to the dough. Not sure if the pizza is made from the same dough.. I'm assuming... Nonetheless it was too sweet but I was hungry and ate it anyways. We ordered the wings jerk style not my choice.. Not so good. We didn't finish them. Additionally, it was so stinking hot in there... Turn the A/C on... It's so tiny it can't cost that much to cool this place. When will I be back.. Hard to say... We had garlic parmesan wings and it took longer than I expected to prepare. They tasted ok. I felt the old gas station outside covered patio area was the only unique point for this place. SO i thought Id check out another joint in my new neighborhood and this one is the closest. Score! Its a little funky joint with a big beer selection, pizza, wings, and calzones. Theres outdoor seating, hightops, and bar seating. I gotta admit, it took a long while before the bartender spotted me and offered me a beer. Then when i ordered a calzone, the order never really made it back to the kitchen until i asked about it much later. All that being said, I still think im going to be a regular. All the folks in the bar were super nice and friendly, the bartender did turn me on to a beer that I loved (and bought me one to make up), the outdoor seating will be awesome with the pooch, and 3 large TVs had the hockey playoffs and the Rays going.
