I had mixed feelings about our first experience at Hana when we tried the matcha gelato, but I'm glad we came back for their much more dramatic and tastier ube soft serve in a cone. This is one of the best summer dessert options in the neighborhood - silky smooth and with that characteristic deep richness from ube. There's sometimes a line to order from the screen inside, but you can also just scan a QR code outside and avoid the wait.

Props to Hana for bringing out such prominent oolong and jasmine tea flavors, they nailed a big gap in the market. Plus, serving the waffle cone in a cup makes it so much easier to eat

I wanna try more flavors. I got the matcha coconut water and when the ice cream melted, kinda just tasted like a matcha flavored drink. Like a Coke float but make it matcha coconut float..

Stopped by Hana Gelateria in Long Island City and tried their oolong tea and jasmine tea gelato. I went on a Saturday afternoon and I was able to walk right up to the kiosk to order and the service was very quick. Both flavors were creamy and rich with a noticeable tea flavor, which I really enjoyed. Between the two, I definitely preferred the jasmine tea. It was more fragrant with a delicate floral note that came through beautifully without being overpowering. The oolong was also enjoyable, especially if you prefer a deeper, more roasted and nutty tea flavor although I felt it was a tad too sweet for my liking. Another thing to highlight is that I really appreciate that they put a waffle cone inside the cup. It made it much easier to enjoy the gelato without worrying about it melting and making a mess. My only issue was the texture. Unfortunately, there were still a few small ice crystals in the jasmine tea gelato which I did not enjoy. Overall, I enjoyed the tea flavors and would be interested in trying some of their other offerings. The jasmine tea gelato would definitely be my pick of the two but hopefully they will be better with being more consistent with their gelato texture.

Darn it, why did the gelatos have to be so good?! Yuzu, Black Sesame and Salted Caramel Honeycomb were so delicious. I fear for my wallet. While I will say the gelatos are rather pricey, you can try all of the flavors to your hearts content. The staff were so friendly and accommodating!

Honestly a pretty neat first experience. I was worried it would be all hype but the flavor was good and I would definitely go back to try more flavors. I absolutely love matcha and tea flavored everything so this definitely serves your type of crowd if you like that too. Only reason I put 4 stars is because as you might see in the photo which was taken as soon as I got my order, the gelato was already starting to melt significantly. If I could be more accurate I'd say 4.5 is fair. The flavor of the matcha jas is strong (but not overly) and creamy. You don't taste jasmine much, mainly matcha. The texture was nice though I wish it was more solid. The toppings were a nice addition. I saw many people order oolong and longjing tea so will be trying those next time. Mochi is very soft and chewy. The surprise for me was the jasmine coffee. I LOVED it. Strong jasmine flavor and it was refreshing for a hot day like today. Highly recommend trying it. Space was nice, no seating except for a small side bench to wait for orders really. It wasn't crowded when I went which was a weekday afternoon. Total for 2 items was $19 (but I had toppings added)- pretty regular for this area. Since it's a gelato place would be nice if there was more seating to talk and hang out.

Super excited to try this place. There's been a line every time I pass by: Got the Ube soft serve, matcha soft serve, and the oolong gelato. My honest opinion is that the Ube soft serve is super good! But the matcha has too many matcha powder chunks for my taste- I prefer Maiko or Nanas Green tea for the smooth matcha soft serve while maintaining the strong matcha flavor. The star of the show is the gelato, which is what this place is known for. The oolong flavor in the gelato is so strong and so good! It is hands down the best oolong ice cream I have ever tried. They have other flavors like black sesame that I will definitely be back to try. Definitely give this place a try for their gelato! And Ube soft serve. There is a cute mirror for photo ops in their waiting area.

The oolong gelato is so creamy and flavorful. I love every bite!! The cone itself tasted super fresh and crisp. One of my top gelatos in the city. I highly recommend this spot!

This new gelato spot in LIC offers some great tea-based (and other flavors!) gelato. The inside of the shop is bright, clean, and spacious (although there isn't really any seating). You can order at kiosks and their menu also includes soft serve and drinks on top of the gelato. When I went, two of their tea flavors were already sold out so we chose their matcha and a light green tea flavor (I forgot the name of it). Both came in cups with a waffle cone inside. Although a small detail, I loved this because I can never choose between the convenience of a cup or the satisfaction of a waffle cone. Both gelatos were very fragrant, creamy, and rich. Delicious. Would love to come back and try their other flavors!

Food: This is a relatively new gelateria with Asian flavors such as jasmine, oolong, and other unique teas. They offer gelatos, soft serve, and soda floats. I tried the longjin flavored gelato which was delicious. Gelatos are served in a waffle cup (which is put into a plastic cup). I can't wait to go back and try the other flavors. Service: Staff are friendly and welcoming. Ambiance: The shop is a good size with some seating along the window ledge but no tables and chairs. Decor is simple and nothing special. Overall, I would highly recommend this place!

Price - $16 including tax Food - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Ambiance - 5/5 I got to try out their longjing and oolong gelato and must I say these are the most delicious gelatos I've had thus far! My favorite was definitely the oolong gelato because I really like how strong the tea flavor was. The longjing was not too strong but it was still very good. The gelatos are also not too sweet which may suit many people's taste buds if they're watching their sugar levels. I will definitely come back to try out their other flavors because they were super yummy! The service and ambiance was amazing. Hopefully there will be indoor/outdoor seating in the future so people can sit around and enjoy their sweet treats!

The black sesame and oolong tea flavors were so strong and nice. Would love to try the other flavors. Dropped by Sunday evening and there was a lot of people waiting around or chilling outside, but no actual line to order at the kiosk. It did take some time (~10m?) for them to make our actual order though.

    Mindy L.

Thankfully I got to try this place when it wasn't busy! I've heard that during peak hours to expect a line but I managed to beat it. I was so excited to try all their different flavors, but after getting samples, I KNEW I had to get the Da Hong Pao Oolong flavor as I love both on its own! (plus it's such a unique flavor that you can't get anywhere else!) The place does have a few seatings, but it's more of a grab n go type of place!

My most recent encounter with their cakes came in the form of a slice of their seven layer cake $9.95 which is thin layers of yellow cake alternating with chocolate cream mmm pretty tasty, and their caramel cake $9.95 which had a layer of chocolate cake in the middle, sandwiched by caramel cream and white cake on either side. Out of all the flavors I've tried here so far, nothing beats the rose milk tea. I also like the Thai milk tea but it doesn't beat the rose. With the exception of the brown sugar milk tea, which had a clump of sugar syrup on the bottom, the rest of the times I asked for less syrup, I got none. I didn't realize the sugar syrup was clumped together at the bottom of the cup for the brown sugar milk tea. The 1st sip was extremely sweet since all the syrup came up.
