    Bao Trio

I have heard a lot of accolades about this place and could not get the chance to visit it. Every time I went it was closed. Note. They are closed Sunday and Monday. The one time I went the place was jammed packed and I decided to return another day. So I finally went! Oh my goodness what a flavor palette! Lots of choices for appetizers, noodles and rice and main course meals. You can order and then sit in the dining room, bar or outside. The owner is very engaged with the people and wears a beautiful smile, obviously proud of what she has built. The food was delicious, the seasoning, the textures and sauces. There was not one thing that I found disappointing. We enjoyed spring rolls, pork dumplings, and the Bao Trio. Highly recommended! They have a full bar with a few beers on tap. The service and ambiance was great. Joyful atmosphere. A little louder than expected but it was also the holidays so people are enjoying their time together. Make it a point to stop by this place in Fernandina Beach. It's a few blocks away from Centre Street but not a far walk. Parking is available around the restaurant. Enjoy!!

We always love coming here when visiting Fernandina! It is definitely worth the visit. The owner is absolutely adorable and welcomes diners with so much joy, excitement, and passion. You can feel the welcoming environment as soon as you step foot through their doors. The food? Delicious!!! 10/10!

Different + flavorful + great service. Loved everything about this. Don't be deceived, you may be ordering from a counter but the experience feels full service. The atmosphere is relaxed and the food delicious. Pro tip: the rice fritter/tots are sweet like sticky rice. The pork bao bun was BOMB.

I've been here once before when visiting family in Fernandina Beach and thought it was fine. They enjoy the food so was happy to try again. Two ordered the crispy pork chop with rice which was a nice portion. They both liked it as it's their usual dish. I gave it a try and would rate it just ok. Breaded pork cutlet with a sweet chili sauce but nothing special. I ordered the grilled octopus which was fine maybe a little overcooked, the pork dumplings which I enjoyed. They were tasty but a little in the sweet side and my wife ordered the spring rolls which had a good flavor and the panko crusted tuna which was my favorite dish on the table. It came with a side of rice and a tasty cucumber salad. Overall the experience was good and probably would return. I'd rate it a 4.0 which I consider good but nothing special and no way at the level of a 5.0. Nice menu and sure everyone could find something they enjoy.

This place is so popular in Amelia Island for a good reason. It's so good. The line is out the door, but the reason is because you order when you come inside and the menu is visible on the wall. Afterwards, you can find a seat and they bring your food to you. For this visit, I ordered the Panko ahi tuna bao buns. It comes in two but others come in three, the ones with meat at least. I scarfed these down so fast but it is bc it was soo tasty. Like my fave food on this whole trip. Definitely this is worth it and I would crave their food now. Thus why I wished I ordered more here. This place is busy and you may or may not be able to hear the others in your group. They do have outside seating also which would be ideal at other times of the year. Hopefully I can be back in the winter for the Dickens Xmas weekend but then I'm sure they place will be even busier

My wife and I really enjoyed the food at this location, service plus stellar, and the owner came around and greeted each customer at some point during your meal. The location is not exactly on the main drag, and parking is a significant issue, but it's worth the drive and it's worth the meal. But what about the food? Corn ribs - I love corn, but I wasn't thrilled with the ribs. There was not a lot of seasoning and the corn was not very sweet. Grilled octopus - hands-down, my FAVORITE dish. Sweet Chili Shrimp - very good Fried Pork Chop over rice - good, but more of a spice kick than I care for The owner clearly enjoys what she does, because she comes around and speaks to everyone. Some are clearly regulars that she has long conversations with, but she stopped and talk to us, and it was our first time in.

Wicked Bao feels like a secret society dinner club on Amelia Island. They are located in a shipyard and inside an old house. Wicked Bao has a mysterious vibe of an underground club. The line outside was long and we tried to squeeze in the door to avoid the rain. You order and then wait for a seat, reservations are not available. On the menu is Pho, small plates, noodles, rice dishes, bao buns and many vegetables side dishes. We ordered the three braised pork belly bao with pickled greens, cilantro and peanut powder. The baos were fluffy, moist and easy to inhale. We ordered three buttermilk fried chicken bao with arugula and jalepeno aioli. The chicken was nicely battered and fried, but virtually no flavor. The roti canai with a curry dipping sauce was delicious. Our final order was the wok fried green beans special with mayo. They were ok, but not memorable. Wicked Bao has a cool vibe with hip foods at a more than reasonable cost. Their busy staff was hustling at all times. I would definitely return as the menu has multiple items that look intriguing. The energy here is good with a varied crowd. If you are searching for a tasty evening in a fun environment, get to Wicked Bao.

Asian street food in downtown historic Fernandina Beach? Yes please! Ordered the Bao Trio (Bao basically means bun in Chinese BTW) Braised Pork Belly Bulgogi Beef and Fried Chicken-it was alright, the pork was a bit dry and thought the sauce could have more flavorful. Pork Ramen was very good-the Miso broth was delicious and went well with the noodles. The place is very clean, there is enough parking for guests. The ambiance and music was very chill. The staff was very friendly and not to mention, the order was very quick-in less than 5 minutes! It was definitely worth the one drive to check out Wicked Bao and hope to be back soon and order the Vietnamese coffee it was my favorite out of all the items I ordered.

This restaurant looks like a cute little house from outside, offering both interior and patio seating. It's a very trendy hot spot, and we went on a Friday. It was very busy. We stood in the queue to order about 15 minutes. It then took another 25 minutes to get our table. This isn't a traditional sit down and order restaurant. It's like an Asian Tijuana Flats. You order ahead and wait for them to call your number for your table. Then you wait for the food to arrive at your table. We got an order of the chicken satay, the veggie potstickers, the beef noodle soup, and 2 Bulgogi beef bao buns, we were extremely hungry after waiting so long for the table and then the food. The problem with this place is that the plates of food arrive at different times, and I don't mean a few minutes in between. It could be 15 minutes before another plate arrives. There were times when only 1 of us was eating. Then another item would arrive. 1 item at a time. Making it very difficult to eat together. The wait times in between plates were extremely long. When we would ask what was going on, they just kinda shrugged like, "Who knows." The food was good, but I would probably never go again. I didn't feel it was worth the long wait times for semi fast food.

There's plenty of good things to say about Wicked Bao! We ate outside and the breeze kept us cool. Great meld of flavor combinations in the Baos!! I couldn't believe how quickly our food arrived - my favorite was the Vietnamese Coffee!! A layer of sweetened condensed milk in the bottom of cup and boiling water poured over the cup holding the coffee grounds. Wait for all the water to drain. Stir the coffee and milk (a little for not too sweet) and for me, I stirred all the condensed milk in the bottom -- it was a fantastic cup of coffee!!! The service was great too. You order and pay up front and within a few minutes of sitting down, your food has arrived. I forgot to add my video of how the coffee is done.

It is our first time here. And wow.... What an amazingly delicious meal!!…read moreOur friends had been before and wanted us to try this. And I'm glad we did. What great portion sizes! The hostess was not very welcoming and was kind of rude when we walked up to the hostess stand. But that was the only negative comment I have. The server was very nice and made sure we always had everything we needed. Our food portions were so worth the price. We had the small portion of the Spicy Thai Noodles. Those noodles were so good, I want that as an entree with chicken next time. I tried the Calypso Chicken Sandwich. Oh man... what a sandwich this was!! Piled high and everything was so fresh! Great flavor and the grilled pineapple was soooo good. My husband had THE PASTREUBEN. Mmm that meat was maybe pan fried? But it was hot and had a crisp to it. The side of potato salad was really nice too. Overall... I cannot wait to come back and try more!!

I visited Café Karibo on Amelia Island with a close friend and ordered the Veggie Wrap, and wow…read more...it exceeded every expectation. The combination of hummus, tomato pesto, roasted red peppers, seared tofu, carrots, onions, cucumbers, Baja black beans, baby greens, and feta in a spinach wrap was so balanced and fresh. It was incredible that I didn't even need the dressing it came with. Everything was compact, flavorful, and not soggy at all , honestly one of the best veggie wraps I've had in a long time. I subbed the side it normally comes with, and while I do wish there wasn't an upcharge (especially since many people, like me, can't have potato salad due to dietary needs), the sweet potato fries were worth it. They came out crispy, delicious, and paired perfectly with the honey mustard. Overall, a beautiful meal with fresh ingredients and great execution. Just a small note on the side‑swap upcharge, but the food itself was fantastic. I'll definitely be back.
