We were told that the restaurant has been in this location for 20 years and serves teppan lunch buffet with choices of unlimited chicken, steak, fish, shrimp, calamari, being included in the price of $18, plus soup, plus salad bar with fried items. The items are fresh. The chef cooked your order in front of you on the spot. Buttery aroma permeated the entire room. The food was very flavorful. The staff were all very friendly. We've been here a few times since my first review. For the most part, this place is great, however, on our last visit, as the chef was making our chicken fried rice, he only used a small portion of the prepared chicken. When I asked him why he didn't use the whole pre-portioned amount, he made up multiple excuses such as: he couldn't put the raw chicken into the dish with the cooked chicken (then why didn't you use the whole thing when you started cooking?); another excuse was that he would get in trouble if he used all the pre-portioned chicken; and another one was we would have to pay extra if we wanted him to use all the pre-portioned chicken. Well, that didn't sit well with me since my chicken fried rice was all vegetables and hardly any chicken. When I brought this up to our server, she apologized and took the rice off the bill. Too late! Damage done. My hubby and I spend at least $100+ at every visit, and guess what? We're never going back to this place again. We can spend our money elsewhere. read more

Tried for lunch with my wife and it ended up being a great find. We didn't realize they had a lunch buffet, which was a nice surprise. Found this Teppan grill here on Yelp. We were at Murrieta Hot Springs for my birthday weekend and wanted something different from what was offered on the resort. The ambiance is great and fun. The staff is super friendly. We were seated with an elderly couple who were celebrating their anniversary. The server was very kind and offered to take their picture and offered an anniversary dessert. The food was delicious and our cook was very tentative. He offered my husband to make his food spicy. We came here with a reservation for 12 people at 1:30 PM for lunch. We were seated on time, but unfortunately the experience went downhill from there. It took about 15 minutes just to get drink orders taken, and the restaurant was EXTREMELY hot inside, easily around 80 degrees with almost no airflow. We asked if fans could be turned on, but only one was working. My kids' cheeks were bright pink from the heat, and I eventually had to take them to another part of the restaurant to cool down. We placed our food order around 2:00 PM after I spoke with a manager. When I expressed concern about the delays, the response I got was essentially, "Do you want to leave?" By 2:30 we still had no chef at our table, and food didn't actually start cooking until around 2:50 PM, nearly an hour and a half after our reservation time. Service throughout was inconsistent. Our table wasn't regularly bussed, so appetizer dishes piled up while we were eating. Drink refills didn't happen unless we asked. We also ordered sushi that never came, and we had to repeatedly ask for rice that had already been ordered but was never brought out. Even the chef appeared to be struggling with the heat and was visibly sweating heavily while cooking. The staff themselves were genuinely polite, and I want to make that clear. This did not feel like a staff attitude issue. It felt like a management and operations issue from start to finish. To their credit, the food itself was good once we finally received it. However, given the excessive wait times, uncomfortable temperature, missing items, lack of service recovery, and overall experience, this meal was very disappointing. The manager never came back to check on us after the complaints, and no discount was initially offered until we specifically requested one. We ultimately received 20% off. I understand restaurants get busy, but this felt very poorly managed overall. read more

We've been coming to this place on and off for the past few years, and it used to be one of our go-tos -- but yesterday's to-go order will be our last visit. We ordered two meals for pickup: one filet and shrimp, the other filet and scallop. At nearly $40 per plate, we expected quality -- or at the very least, something close to what we've gotten in the past. What we got instead was disappointing. The portions were so small, a lot less than we remember. The meat was not only overcooked, but we're pretty convinced it wasn't even filet. It had the texture and taste of a much cheaper cut, which made the price tag feel even more painful. Everything from the shrimp to the scallops to the veggies tasted bland and lifeless. The best part of the meal was the mushroom soup and fried rice...would have rather not spent $90 for that! My husband also mentioned the place looked run-down and grimey when he picked up the order -- definitely not how we remember it. Not sure if there's new management or if standards have just slipped. I have eaten here several times over the last few years and, sadly, it has gone downhill. Service and cooking is very rushed, the quality of meat is mid, and the flavor is lacking. Items are overcooked, especially seafood. But, the prices... through the roof. On top of our two person dinner was a $26 service fee?!?! Me and my wife have been coming here for 14yrs we came here for 41 anniversary we order the Grand suite. There was another couple at our table they order shimp dinner and filet Minon dinner. They came out with three equal portions of shrimp and filet minon. We should have gotten an equal share of each. They got 50/50 of shimp and steak and only order 1 portions ea. One of them got shimp and didn't order any. My price was 135. They paid 74. This is crazy. It took 20min. To get hot sake I order a large it was 2/3 filled sent it back. Horrible service. Walked in with nobody in the first seating area. A elderly host greeted me and asked if I was here for the Tepanyaki or sushi- I stated I wanted the tepanyaki and she confirmed if it was just me. I agreed as she laughed and stated I was not able to sit in the other area where the main action of tapanyaki exteriors is. She proceeded to tell me the kitchen had to prepare my meal as I needed to be seated with 1 other person as they had a "policy" of requiring at least 2 guest to enjoy the show. I proceeded to as the host if there was a cheaper rate for the food I was ordering since I was not able to sit and enjoy the tepanyaki experience. She then told me "No and laughed" and said it would be full price. I then proceeded to asked where the policy was stated that at least 2 guest were required to enjoy the tapanyaki cooking experience and she said that it was not anywhere in the store or the menu but the MANAGER/OWNER said that was the requirement/policy. As I watched others enjoying their experience and I sat in an empty area of literally 0 customers- I said no thank you and walked out. I told my wife that I like to do Arashi for my birthday after doing some cleaning around the house. We have been going to the place since our kids are still young to the point that we know some of the veteran cooks. We arrived and we were seated on the first empty table. After being there for 15 mins, then 3 people came in and the were seated at the different table, but normally they fill a table except for reservation. We were told move to their table even though we were there first. We were irrate already while these people have special priviledge they cater to. When we are about to sit, the couple told us we can't sit there because they have people arriving. We look really stupid just standing there and the other table are just staring. We have to sit on the other side. At this point we are no longer want to spend this awkward situation. Waitress should handle the situation properly and I told the manager we are leaving. I normally order take out sushi rolls from Arashi. They have special discounts on take out. Arahi just launched their lunch buffet, so I had to give it a try. For $17.99 You get teppan and apps. It is a Really good deal. 1 serving from the teppan includes 2 meat, veggies and rice (not in picture). Buffet table has appetizers like salad, California rolls, jalapeño bomb, popcorn chicken, yakisoba noodles, shrimp and veggie tempura. They just launched their lunch buffet so it was a little confusing at first. Make sure to ask for the dipping sauce for the teppan. I underestimated the amount of food that comes with the teppan. I was so full afterwards. I would go back again for their lunch buffet. read more
