Hana Sushi is always our go to spot for a fresh sushi dinner. Their rolls are delicious and you can taste the freshness of the fish. The sunset roll is a must order every visit. The fresh slices of lemon on top, give each bite a fresh citrus explosion and complements the fish. Their rolls sunset princess roll is fresh and topped with creamy avocado. Each time we walk in, we're greeted and seated right away. Whether you're going to enjoy family dinner or date night, Hana is the place to be!

I've always been a fan of this place. Conveniently located and high quality with excellent service , what more could one ask for? They were 5 stars in the past and now just blah. Not sure if they don't realize their regulars see evidence of shrinkflation but they raise their prices and at the same time decrease their quality? Here's a great example of the chirashi bowl in the past and present. Had some for the best in the area in the past with several parts of squid, salmon, yellowtail and even salmon roe. Now they raise their prices and sub it a lot of it with giant pieces of ahi tuna ? That's not even sashimi and it's gross. It's hot mess and I hope they get back to their former quality soon

Some of the sushi were really good and some were extremely not for me (the ones that had lemons) were too lemony amd sour that overpowered the flavor of the sushi. Also a really big turn off for me was their table cleaning splution that smelled sooo strong that it overpowers the smell of the food. Each time i take a sip of my soup and take a bit of my food, all I smell is the chlorine. I hope they can tone it down.

Take a gander at the quality from my 5 star 2015 review to tonight March 2026. Absolutely garbage. To boot, the server secured me about the two roll 25.00 deal being dine in only after I sat down. Said she was doing me a favor and not charging me full price.

My friend and I stopped in here on our way back to her house, since we both had been craving sushi. They have a lunch special posted on their door and menus at the tables that includes two rolls for $22. Since the rolls range from $11-$19, we decided to go for the lunch special. I ordered a miso soup, and then the I love salmon roll and the future girlfriend no-rice roll. Both were really good and tasted fresh! The servers were so nice and attentive. I might have to check out their happy hour next time I am in!

Now THIS is good sushi. Quality fish and fun rolls - What more can you ask for? I've driven an hour to this sushi spot on multiple occasions because it's just that good. I typically mix it up with one roll but for my second roll I ALWAYS get the Amber Roll. Simple but something about it is oh so tasty. The service and restaurant itself is pretty no frills but that's not a con for me. Great for lunch too.

Got 2 dragon rolls, and they were riddled with small bones. Liked the other rolls, but I wish these were prepared better

I called because I got a door dash order. No chop sticks anything to eat it with. It's our fault because we didn't say we needed something to eat it with. We are staying in a hotel they Delivered to us. Okay fine we can eat the sushi with our fingers. We also got two kids chicken teriyaki. No sause on either one. The chef says he put it on. Got pictures no sauce anywhere. I don't mind having to eat our meals with our fingers. But the kids don't have to eat dry rice and chicken for over 80 dollars.

Very nice place, easy to find, very clean and presents well. Inside and outside seating. Wasabi tray came with a small cucumber salad that was wonderful, slightly sweeter than vinegar. Hot tea was piping hot and rice was perfect. Sushi was fresh and well put together.

Do you have gluten free soy sauce & gluten free roll options?

    Absolutely@ we do have both

Does the protein roll have imitation crab?

It does have imitation crab along with spicy tuna on the inside. You can pay an up charge for real crab if you don't like imitation crab.

    Do they do sushi platters?

Yes! There are smaller portions that serve 1-2 people or even party trays that can serve more people.

Seems like the new owner is serving smaller portions, I've noticed it's not crowded like it used to be. Thoughts? We eat there a lot, but the last month or so, I think they are going lower quality and quantity ?

Perfect for anniversary dinner:…read more Omakase sushi is one of the most refined and memorable dining experiences you can have, especially if you appreciate attention to detail, freshness, and craftsmanship. From the moment you sit down, there's a clear sense that this is not just a meal--it's a curated journey guided entirely by the chef's expertise and intuition. What makes omakase stand out is the trust you place in the chef. Instead of choosing dishes yourself, you allow the chef to present a sequence of sushi that highlights the best ingredients available that day. This often results in a progression that feels intentional and balanced, starting with lighter, more delicate flavors and gradually moving toward richer, more complex pieces. Each bite is thoughtfully designed to showcase the natural qualities of the fish, the texture of the rice, and the subtle interplay of seasoning. The freshness of the ingredients is immediately noticeable. High-quality omakase typically features fish flown in from top markets, and you can taste the difference. The fish is clean, tender, and often melts in your mouth. The rice, which is just as important as the fish, is seasoned perfectly--slightly warm, lightly vinegared, and shaped with precision so it holds together without being dense. Another standout aspect is the craftsmanship. Watching the chef prepare each piece right in front of you adds a level of appreciation you don't get with standard dining. Every movement is deliberate, from slicing the fish to forming the rice to brushing on just the right amount of soy or adding a touch of wasabi. It becomes clear that years of training and discipline go into even the simplest-looking piece of sushi. Omakase also introduces you to varieties of fish and preparations you might never order on your own. This expands your palate and helps you discover new favorites. Seasonal ingredients often play a role, which keeps the experience dynamic and unique each time you go. Service is typically intimate and attentive, especially if you're seated at the counter. The chef may explain each piece, offer guidance on how to eat it, or adjust the pacing based on your preferences. This interaction adds a personal element that enhances the overall experience. While omakase can be more expensive than regular sushi, the value lies in the quality, skill, and overall experience. It's not just about eating--it's about enjoying a carefully orchestrated meal that reflects both tradition and creativity. Overall, omakase sushi delivers a level of quality and thoughtfulness that's hard to match. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines artistry, flavor, and a sense of occasion, omakase is absolutely worth it.

All of the servers were friendly, attentive, and quick to check in on us. We never had to flag anyone down or wait long for assistance. The menu offers a great variety of options, making it easy to find something for everyone. We ordered the Black Garlic Ramen, Shrimp Tempura Udon, Garlic Edamame, and a variety of rolls. Everything came out quickly, was fresh, and tasted great. The ramen and rolls were especially enjoyable, and there wasn't much left behind except for the broth. The only item that missed the mark for me was the Garlic Edamame. It was coated in quite a bit of sauce, which ended up overpowering the flavor of the edamame itself. I'd recommend ordering it with less sauce or asking for it on the lighter side if possible. Overall, the prices were reasonable, the food was good, and the service was attentive. If I'm back in the area, I'd definitely stop by again.

The grilled fish and fried shrimp heads were also delicious, fried to a crisp, and made a great side dish. Overall, I was very satisfied with my meal and give it a five-star rating! Came here for my birthday (like everyone else, lol, there were at least 10-15 other birthdays…read moreduring the short time we were there). The server was great, very attentive. My daughter asked for another cherry and she brought a whole bowl. I took off a star for two reasons: 1) the women's restroom was very messy and dirty (clogged toilet, paper towels and toilet paper everywhere). When you go to the restroom right before dinner and this is what you see, it is very unappetizing. 2) our chef was very boring and did the bare minimum, even after I requested a chef who is extra good with kids when I made my reservation. I grew up going to the Shogun in Pasadena, and those chefs knew how to put on a show. The remodel really elevated the ambiance. The wallpaper is beautiful. The food was delicious, no complaints there.

I've loved Shogun my entire life. It's always been one of the restaurants I ask to go to for…read morecelebrations, and every time I eat there in person, I have a great experience. That being said, I'm consistently disappointed when I order Shogun for takeout or delivery. I understand that delivery can affect things like temperature, and I'm not expecting my food to be exactly the same as it would be coming straight off the grill in the restaurant. But in my opinion, the consistency and quality of the food itself should still be the same. I've ordered the exact same thing from Shogun for as long as I can remember: a filet mignon plate cooked medium. That means pink in the center-- not well done, not undercooked. Every time I eat it in person, my steak is cooked perfectly. But almost every time I order it for delivery, it seems like a completely different quality of food. Today, for example, I spent $50 on a filet mignon lunch through DoorDash, and the steak arrived extremely well done and overcooked. It was dry and honestly just not worth what I paid for it. I know that probably sounds like a first world problem, but it's genuinely one of the reasons I don't order from Shogun more often. If the food was consistent between dining in and ordering out, I would probably order it all the time. There's also another consistency issue that I've experienced with the menu itself. The last few times I've ordered this same meal through DoorDash, the description has said that it comes with both soup and a salad. Every time, I've received the soup but no salad. When I've called about it, I've been told that the lunch portion only comes with one or the other, even though there doesn't seem to be any specific lunch menu or distinction in the description saying that. (I'm always ordering from the steak entrée section) Today, before placing my order, I actually called and spoke with a manager specifically to clarify this. She initially told me the same thing-- that the salad was only included with the entrée portion and not the lunch portion. I explained that the description specifically says it comes with both, and she ultimately assured me that she would make sure I received both my soup and salad. And I did. This was actually the first time I've received the salad with this order. Amazing. But... that experience honestly makes the situation even more frustrating because I shouldn't have to call ahead and speak to a manager to make sure I receive something that is already listed as being included in the meal I'm ordering. It makes it feel like there's an inconsistency in what customers are being told versus what the menu actually promises. I also don't understand why the food itself is so different depending on whether I'm eating in the restaurant or ordering out. I understand that there are different cooks preparing the food in the kitchen versus the hibachi chefs cooking for guests in person, but I don't understand why that should mean the food quality changes so much. If I order filet mignon cooked medium, I should receive filet mignon cooked medium whether I'm sitting at the hibachi table, picking it up myself, or having it delivered. And it's not just the temperature. Sometimes the pieces of steak I receive are so small or look so different that I genuinely wonder if I was given a completely different cut of meat. Other times it feels like I'm getting the worst pieces of filet, while the quality when I eat there in person is consistently so much better. If my food arrives cold because it was sitting in a delivery car, I can understand that. That's part of ordering delivery. But receiving a steak that is severely overcooked or undercooked, or looks like an entirely different cut of meat than what I'm used to getting in the restaurant, is a consistency issue that I feel should be addressed. I'm not writing this review looking for anything. I've already handled today's overcooked steak through DoorDash. I'm writing this because I genuinely love Shogun and have for my entire life, and I would love to be able to order from you guys without wondering what version of my meal I'm going to get or whether I'm actually going to receive everything that the menu says is included. All I'm asking for is consistency. If I'm paying $50 for a meal, I feel like I should be able to expect the same quality and the same items whether I'm eating in the restaurant or ordering it to go.
