This is my go to spot whenever I'm at Pechanga casino. It's located right at the beginning of the entrance into the main casino. They have two sections of the restaurant. They have the main dining area and then they have the bar area with the gambling machines on the other side with a tv. You'll usually catch me on the side with the machines just chilling. I'm not a heavy gambler (my wife is) so she'll be out on the floor somewhere trying to get the big bucks and i'll be watching sports highlights playing quarter blackjack, sipping a drink and eating some sushi hand rolls. The are is always pretty clean and the bartenders are always pretty cool. They partake in small talk with the customers sitting at the bar and are usually engaged with the conversation. You can tell they like their jobs. As for the food, I usually order from their lunch menu since their restaurant is closed when I'm usually there in the afternoon. I like their handrolls, which have been pretty fresh everytime I've ordered them. I've also ventured out and had their beef skewers and their lobster rolls which are also pretty tasty. The lunch menu is pretty limited and they can customize sushi rolls depending on what's available so it doesn't hurt to ask. The atmosphere was lively although a little loud for my taste. It IS in the middle of a casino though so the noise is more than forgivable. Especially when the product is this good. Delicious sashimi, especially the blue fin and salmon. Try the calamari, very fresh and served piping hot, crispy and well seasoned and paired with hot saki it made for a delicious treat. The service was good, I never had to look for the server. She was present without being overbearing. I can't justify 5 stars but 4 is definitely fair and worth the visit if you want decent sushi at a very non traditional location. read more

First off Bryce was absolutely amazing. He was personable and knowledgeable. I also appreciated the manager visiting the tables to make sure all guest were pleased. I haven't eaten here in a while and it was nice to know the quality was the same. I ordered an unagi roll and a Temecula Fire roll. I enjoyed the fire roll more than the unagi. The unagi was a bit one notes and was missing a contrasting flavor and texture. My gin and tonic was yummy but it didn't have extra like requested. I tried the shrimp cocktail and it was really good. I prefer my cocktail sauce a little more spicy but that's just a preference. The ambiance is tranquil and soothing. I like the dimmed lighting. It can be very romantic for some. I came here for a quick dinner in Pechanga resort while staying there. The ambiance was very nice and seating was comfortable. Dylan provide phenomenal service. He was very attentive and provided excellent service. I ordered spicy edamame, tuna carpaccio, and California rolls. The food was fresh and had good flavor. The disappointment was with the price and portion size was definitely bad. Thw tuna carpaccio was $28 for a small portion of it. The California rolls cost $12 and the rolls has a significant amount of rice. I guess you are paying for the convenience of the restaurant being inside of a casino. I would only consider this place if you are forced to eat I side the hotel, but don't go out your way to eat here. read more

We have been regulars for years until management changed a few years ago. Took away our favorite cocktail, changed the menu, favorite bartender left, etc. so we stopped going. Literally used to go every Friday night. Decided to give it a try again for our anniversary dinner. Woah. Blew us away! The BEST oysters one could imagine for an inland, quasi desert town. They were cold, fresh, paired with all the yummy fixings!!! Perfect texture, just shucked, great west coast (Washington) oysters. Our server was beyond amazing! He was informative, smart, knowledgeable , great at pacing , etc!!! The entire meal was phenomenal. One downside! They don't have clam chowder anymore! However, management came over and chatted with us and they recreated our favorite former cocktail!!! Holy cow!!! We will absolutely become regulars again!! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The only thing worth noting is that the Chilean seabass came out overcooked and a bit rubbery. We mentioned it to our server, who immediately offered to remake it. The manager also explained that the belly cut can sometimes be tougher, and kindly offered to remake it or exchange it for a different entrée. Although the seabass texture wasn't ideal this time, the flavors were wonderful, especially the broccolini and mushrooms. We went on a little one-night getaway to Pechanga and decided to start the evening with dinner at Umi Sushi & Oyster Bar. It is located at one corner of the casino near the check-in area and café. It is hard to miss the exterior of the restaurant with its floor-to-ceiling gemstone features in front of transparent beige drapes. They have a good sized bar at the entrance with several TVs playing sports. There are a good number of tables and booths throughout the main dining area. You can also eat at the sushi bar. The inside wall is mostly illuminated and looks really cool. The round swirled globe lights over the sushi bar are a nice feature as well. Overall, the restaurant has a trendy and slightly-upscale feel. We had an early dinner at 5:30pm and sat in a booth along the back wall. The noise level was low at this time, and we had a nice view of the entire restaurant and the casino out front in the distance. We decided to have some drinks and just order a variety of appetizers. I started with the Yuzu Blossom (Haku vodka, Joto Yuzu citrus sake, Meyer lemon, lemon bitters, $16). This was kind of like a lemon drop but with citrus sake replacing the orange liqueur, and it was an absolute lemon lover's dream cocktail. The Meyer lemon adds a little sweetness so it it's not just a sour bomb, and the sugar rim was the perfect complement. It was light and refreshing, and I could have had these all night long. She started out with the Gin & Ginger (Roku gin, Giffard Ginger of the Indies, Meyer lemon, ginger bitters, $16). As lemony as the Yuzu Blossom was, this drink would similarly be a ginger lover's dream cocktail. It had great ginger flavor without being over the top, and it was also light and refreshing. I have been keeping my eyes out for drinks with ginger ever since we enjoyed this one. For appetizers, we started out with the spicy tuna crispy rice. This came with two pieces of a crispy rice rectangle on the bottom, topped with a slice of avocado, a good sized scoop of spicy tuna, and a few other small toppers. The crispy rice square was good and had a nice texture, but the spicy tuna had barely any spiciness to it and was a little bland. Make the spicy tuna spicy and it would have been a lot better. This appetizer is very expensive at $17 for just two pieces which were somewhere between ok and good. Next, we had the fried shishito peppers. The dish came with a good number of peppers, and we liked that the tempura batter was very light, which didn't make this appetizer heavy. The sauces drizzled over the peppers were good, but we could have done with a little less of it as the peppers were borderline drenched. This appetizer was more reasonably priced at $15. Instead of getting another cocktail, we decided to share a bottle of sake. I usually enjoy Kikusui sake and wasn't familiar with any of the sakes on the menu. Our server Jacob made a good recommendation of trying the Hiro Blue sake which he mentioned was one of their most popular sakes, and should be somewhat similar to Kikusui. His recommendation was spot on, and we really enjoyed the Hiro Blue. Next, we had the grilled prawns. The prawns were a good size, grilled nicely, and served on a skewer. The parsnip puree on the plate was delicious, and the arugula and pineapple compote added a little sweetness and freshness. The dish was good, but it only came with two prawns, and again seemed a little pricey at $18 for a small bite. We decided to finish with a spider roll. This was just your average spider roll, but it only came with five pieces, and they seemed thinner and not as big as what you usually get at a typical sushi place. This was priced at $17. Our server Jacob and the few other staff members that we interacted with during our meal were all very friendly and provided great service. The hostess was also very friendly, and gladly accommodated our request for a booth. When you eat at a casino restaurant, you expect inflated prices, so it wasn't a surprise here. Having said that, we did enjoy the drinks and appetizers and our time here was a nice way to start the evening. read more

The Date Night Roll is a must order, and everything we had was fantastic. If you're planning to lose a bunch of money at the casino anyway, you might as well eat here. What a beautiful restaurant inside Pechanga, I came here for the first time and the food was amazing, my favorite was the date sushi roll and the yuzu citrus butter and the milk bread were incredible!! I want to buy a pound of butter to take home, that's how good it is. So refreshing and nice balance. Old fashioned: (3/5) It sounded delicious on paper, but I personally wasn't a fan. Salmon citrus delight roll: (3.5/5) It was pretty good, not a huge fan of the lemon on top, but overall tasty! Casinos and Sushi go together like Casinos and Steakhouses... most have both and they're usually a good choice. Umi Sushi at the Pechanga Resort and Casino did not disappoint, at least on the food. Cocktails here were OK, but nothing was super great. I had a wasabi mezcal cocktail, a Japanese whiskey sour, and a Japanese old fashioned and they were drinkable, but I didn't want another one of any of them. Food wise, we had an assortment at the table and the following 6 items were enough for 3 guys and 1 girl: Pork Belly - It wasn't crispy, but it was good, nonetheless. Poke Tacos - These were great and bigger than most I've had Tuna Carpaccio - Wow at the crunchy garlic which made the dish UMI Sunset Roll - The soy paper was a nice change of pace from a normal roll, and the real crab was awesome Orange Ray Roll - This had a nice fresh flavor Temecula Fire - Nice Spice and excellent roll. Loved the blistered peppers. We didn't partake in the oyster bar portion, but it didn't look anything like a classic Las Vegas Oyster Bar (like Palace Station or South Point). But for Sushi, I'd go again... and maybe stick with Sake or Beer unless you have a cocktail that is calling your name... I hate when that happens! read more

I ordered some sort of lobster roll and a spider roll type. The sushi is small but it was pretty good. When its less rice and the meat quality is good, you want to order more!
