Happened upon this place during my stay at Pechanga Casino... The restaurant is beautiful and very well maintained. The dim lighting and layout makes the restaurant look very relaxing and they have plenty of seating whether it's for a small or large group. I got the spicy tuna roll and my partner got the california roll... very good sushi. Flavors are great and presentation is nice. Our server Jonas was very kind and provided exceptional service, the manager also walks around the place checking on each guest which I think is very kind and shows they really care about each guest. 10/10! I will be back :)

Delicious tuna nigiri. Great quality and well prepared rice.

The wife and I are back at Umi this evening. Had to wait a little while for our table but not that long. We were seated at a very nice corner booth at the back of the restaurant. A quiet place in spot away from the busy bar. Today we ordered the sashimi platter, vegetable tempura, and pork belly udon. The sashimi was presented beautifully and was very fresh. We ordered the vegetable tempura again and it was nicely battered and crisp not oily. The wife was cold so we ordered the Pork belly udon. It was tasty and warm. Our server was very professional and knowledgeable; and on top of everything. All in all a great dinner.

This is my go to spot whenever I'm at Pechanga casino. It's located right at the beginning of the entrance into the main casino. They have two sections of the restaurant. They have the main dining area and then they have the bar area with the gambling machines on the other side with a tv. You'll usually catch me on the side with the machines just chilling. I'm not a heavy gambler (my wife is) so she'll be out on the floor somewhere trying to get the big bucks and i'll be watching sports highlights playing quarter blackjack, sipping a drink and eating some sushi hand rolls. The are is always pretty clean and the bartenders are always pretty cool. They partake in small talk with the customers sitting at the bar and are usually engaged with the conversation. You can tell they like their jobs. As for the food, I usually order from their lunch menu since their restaurant is closed when I'm usually there in the afternoon. I like their handrolls, which have been pretty fresh everytime I've ordered them. I've also ventured out and had their beef skewers and their lobster rolls which are also pretty tasty. The lunch menu is pretty limited and they can customize sushi rolls depending on what's available so it doesn't hurt to ask. Overall, its one of my favorite restuarants in the casino and i'll always stop by if I'm there. OOOO 4 out of 5 Adros

Had an amazing experience. Dylan was our server and he was great. Super attentive and funny. The food was also great! The temecula fire was my favorite!

**Review is for bar only** One the best cocktails I've ever had! The lychee zen garden...was so good!! My friends ordered the coco noir and a lemon drop and all drinks made so artfully, delicately and masterfully by bartender Andrew. He was outstanding.

Stopped in for lunch with family. I didn't realize they served lunch because every time I tried to make a reservation online it would only allow for dinner. They have a really small lunch menu. We ended up ordering most of the items on it. The portions are pretty small but we ended up sharing a little bit of everything with the group. The food was pretty good overall. Want to come back for the dinner menu, they had way more to choose from. Our server was great today as well.

Dylan is simply amazing. We came to umi not knowing what to expect. We're sushi heads. Go to sushi at LEAST once a week and even though this was our first time at this location , his recommendations were not hit or miss, they were hit hit hit, thank you for being so attentive and personable. It was a great time, we absolutely will come back.

The atmosphere was lively although a little loud for my taste. It IS in the middle of a casino though so the noise is more than forgivable. Especially when the product is this good. Delicious sashimi, especially the blue fin and salmon. Try the calamari, very fresh and served piping hot, crispy and well seasoned and paired with hot saki it made for a delicious treat. The service was good, I never had to look for the server. She was present without being overbearing. I can't justify 5 stars but 4 is definitely fair and worth the visit if you want decent sushi at a very non traditional location.

Had a wonderful experience at Umi! Jonas provided exceptional service--he was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. His positive attitude and attention to detail truly enhanced our dining experience. The oysters were also incredibly fresh and delicious, some of the best we've had. Great food, great atmosphere, and outstanding customer service. We'll definitely be back!

The spread. Shrimp and beef skewers, sushi combo, live shrimp sushi, fresh oysters, and Japanese shoestring fries.

Honestly, I'm ashamed to how many times I've been to this restaurant. In the past year, I've been here 5 times and I live in OC. The food is very good, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is so relaxing. This is the reason I keep coming back. Everything is amazing. From the host, to the server, and bartender. They are amazing.

First off Bryce was absolutely amazing. He was personable and knowledgeable. I also appreciated the manager visiting the tables to make sure all guest were pleased. I haven't eaten here in a while and it was nice to know the quality was the same. I ordered an unagi roll and a Temecula Fire roll. I enjoyed the fire roll more than the unagi. The unagi was a bit one notes and was missing a contrasting flavor and texture. My gin and tonic was yummy but it didn't have extra like requested. I tried the shrimp cocktail and it was really good. I prefer my cocktail sauce a little more spicy but that's just a preference. The ambiance is tranquil and soothing. I like the dimmed lighting. It can be very romantic for some. Also, Dylan who took over for Bryce was also fabulous!

The food, services, and ambience was AMAZING! My wife and I went there to celebrate our anniversary and from the start it was a great experience. we got the seafood platter for 2 and the 18 oz steak and it was one of best seafood and steak we've ever had. HUGE shout out to our server Bryce! Bryce, your attention to detail and how you treated my wife and I is what made our experience delightful. I rarely leave a review but your service was so great I HAD to get on here to let the world know about you. thank you for everything!

Perfect for anniversary dinner:…read more Omakase sushi is one of the most refined and memorable dining experiences you can have, especially if you appreciate attention to detail, freshness, and craftsmanship. From the moment you sit down, there's a clear sense that this is not just a meal--it's a curated journey guided entirely by the chef's expertise and intuition. What makes omakase stand out is the trust you place in the chef. Instead of choosing dishes yourself, you allow the chef to present a sequence of sushi that highlights the best ingredients available that day. This often results in a progression that feels intentional and balanced, starting with lighter, more delicate flavors and gradually moving toward richer, more complex pieces. Each bite is thoughtfully designed to showcase the natural qualities of the fish, the texture of the rice, and the subtle interplay of seasoning. The freshness of the ingredients is immediately noticeable. High-quality omakase typically features fish flown in from top markets, and you can taste the difference. The fish is clean, tender, and often melts in your mouth. The rice, which is just as important as the fish, is seasoned perfectly--slightly warm, lightly vinegared, and shaped with precision so it holds together without being dense. Another standout aspect is the craftsmanship. Watching the chef prepare each piece right in front of you adds a level of appreciation you don't get with standard dining. Every movement is deliberate, from slicing the fish to forming the rice to brushing on just the right amount of soy or adding a touch of wasabi. It becomes clear that years of training and discipline go into even the simplest-looking piece of sushi. Omakase also introduces you to varieties of fish and preparations you might never order on your own. This expands your palate and helps you discover new favorites. Seasonal ingredients often play a role, which keeps the experience dynamic and unique each time you go. Service is typically intimate and attentive, especially if you're seated at the counter. The chef may explain each piece, offer guidance on how to eat it, or adjust the pacing based on your preferences. This interaction adds a personal element that enhances the overall experience. While omakase can be more expensive than regular sushi, the value lies in the quality, skill, and overall experience. It's not just about eating--it's about enjoying a carefully orchestrated meal that reflects both tradition and creativity. Overall, omakase sushi delivers a level of quality and thoughtfulness that's hard to match. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines artistry, flavor, and a sense of occasion, omakase is absolutely worth it.

All of the servers were friendly, attentive, and quick to check in on us. We never had to flag anyone down or wait long for assistance. The menu offers a great variety of options, making it easy to find something for everyone. We ordered the Black Garlic Ramen, Shrimp Tempura Udon, Garlic Edamame, and a variety of rolls. Everything came out quickly, was fresh, and tasted great. The ramen and rolls were especially enjoyable, and there wasn't much left behind except for the broth. The only item that missed the mark for me was the Garlic Edamame. It was coated in quite a bit of sauce, which ended up overpowering the flavor of the edamame itself. I'd recommend ordering it with less sauce or asking for it on the lighter side if possible. Overall, the prices were reasonable, the food was good, and the service was attentive. If I'm back in the area, I'd definitely stop by again.

We have tried other local sushi places around the area and we always find ourselves comparing everything to this place. It's not a fancy high-end expensive sushi place where you need reservations days or weeks in advance. On the contrary, it's a small sushi restaurant that's part of a several chains of restaurant in town in a strip mall and it's a first come first serve basis. There are a few TVs around to watch sports if you need to, but otherwise it's a nice place for dinner with family or friends to just enjoy good food, beer from the tap and chill and have conversations. Over the years, they have changed some of the menu pricing and different types of specials but nonetheless everything here is top-notch in my book. If you are ever craving for fresh oysters, this is the best right here! The rolls are a good size as well as the sashimi which is always fresh and highest grade and taste excellent every single time. The grilled fish and fried shrimp heads were also delicious, fried to a crisp, and made a great side dish. Overall, I was very satisfied with my meal and give it a five-star rating!
