My daughter asked for another cherry and she brought a whole bowl. I took off a star for two reasons: 1) the women's restroom was very messy and dirty (clogged toilet, paper towels and toilet paper everywhere). When you go to the restroom right before dinner and this is what you see, it is very unappetizing. 2) our chef was very boring and did the bare minimum, even after I requested a chef who is extra good with kids when I made my reservation. I grew up going to the Shogun in Pasadena, and those chefs knew how to put on a show. The remodel really elevated the ambiance. The wallpaper is beautiful. When I'm craving fried rice, this is the place to go. I came here with family and noticed it was quite quiet. I learned that music is no longer played. Usually each teppanyaki chef plays their own music, which I learned to deal with. But I actually enjoy the less chaotic background noise. I personally think it was a good move. The service was great. So it's a holiday, Im feeling good like I want to spend some money. I want a special meal. We have been eyeing this place because its close to some of our regular spots. I decided to pull out dream car #3, put my foot in her and swing by here yesterday because it was a holiday, and we wanted something different. This will likely go down as one of the worst decisions of all 2026. Dont get me wrong, 3.5 stars caught my attention, but finding a place with more than 3.5 stars in the inland empire is basically impossible. We saw the poor reviews, read them and concluded it was mainly a service issue. Let me tell you, its WAY more than a service issue. My first mistake was coming on Valentine's day, it was PACKED. Okay, no big deal however when the food came out disappointment is an understatement. First off they nuked my MR steak it was well done and dry, so after an hour I had to wait again for another steak, mind you im paying 55$ a plate for filet minion and a lobster tail. It comes out looking nothing like the picture. I am livid because at this price point the fact that they burned my steak and served both my steak and lobster in cut up over cooked tiny pieces is diabolical. My lady doesnt like me to be an a$$ to places so I am trying to be cool, but I just dropped 155$ and it was one of the worst meals I have had in immediate memory. Its a holiday and her treat, so I am trying to be nice, and the server, I think she calls herself "Sky" was cool so I didn't want to get upset with her. She brings another steak (in pieces) and it was cooked better but I didnt finish it. It was still terrible, I took the rest home to my dog because shes not as picky as I am. Its the next day and im still HOT, I burned 150+ on this place. I will NEVER be back. If your reading this, go to Benni hana instead. I cant even articulate the level of L this place was the shrimp fried red rice was hard. I didnt even eat most of my food. Our group of 9 were in Temecula to celebrate my wife's uncle Allen's 88th birthday. We're quite familiar with Shogun, having celebrated family get togethers on several occasions at their original Pasadena location in the past. So why only a 3 star rating from me? After probably a half dozen or more experiences with Teppanyaki grill restaurants, not really a fan of the food. More for show than anything else and a first time for uncle Allen. So that was good but things like our chef not providing much veggies for the rest of the remaining 7 of us, compared to the same amount given to her uncle and aunt was inexcusable. Especially seeing the amounts other same sized parties were receiving. Or the fact that my wife and I got the same bland chicken as others in our party requesting teriyaki, while we had orders of sesame with no sesame seeds or sauce provided. And finally getting the three sad birthday singers and drummer showing up to our table well after they had visited others. Some well after our group's birthday party had arrived. No need for me to visit another Shogun location in the future. My 3 star vote is being a bit generous. Last night, me and my husband and our three month old went to Shogun. It was my husband's first time at any hibachi. I was a little bit nervous with bringing a baby in a stroller, but the staff was very helpful. The restaurant was very clean inside they had a really nice bar inside. I also noticed. The service was honestly amazing Cathy was our server and she was very attentive ,fast with getting our drinks and very good with checking up on us.. Wes was our chef who was cooking for us and he was 10 out of 10 amazing. The food tasted amazing. Overall, it was a great night and a great first time experience for my husband. Enjoy the selection of Japanese beer and Saki. Sometimes it takes a while to get your drinks from the bar so make sure to get the bar orders in early. We could have chosen other restaurants but know we always get really great food and service at Shogun. They remodeled over the last year, sparing no expense. We went in a busy Saturday night. Luckily we didn't have to wait for too long before we can get a grill table. We came in with a small kid. They didn't give him any utensils, just a cup of water. We ordered two special $60 Wagyu beef combo that suppose to come with upgraded sushi appetizers. My baby was a bit cranky at the end of the grill show so we had to check out early. When I asked the server to pack our appetizers Togo since we still didn't receive it. They seem like completely forgot about it and didn't give us towards the end since "we missed the appetizers window". Gone to this place for a friend's birthday we all have supper checks. There was only me and one other party with me that ate there. The food was good, but not great. Our chef didn't really speak English so you couldn't really communicate with him on top of that. Went to try Shogun happy hour tonight. It was pretty underwhelming, first of all the service is terrible. We were the only people at the bar. And it took us 20 minutes to get a drink. We received all our happy hour food before our drinks, we received no utensils and no napkins. Luckily the chopsticks were in reach over the bar and we got her own. (Maybe she was new). I guess the most positive thing I can say is that the prices were extremely cheap. Everything was four dollars, seven dollars and nine dollars. However, I would not get the fried calamari rings, extremely rubbery and not edible. Do however, spring the nine dollars for the spicy tuna crispy rice roll. Very good. Also another mention is the spicy garlic edamame at only four dollars. What a bargain I might try them again and might try to sit at a different part of the bar, but overall it was mediocre. By the way, be wary of the to go containers, they have holes in the lid, which isn't immediately obvious, so if you put sauce, it runs all over the place. read more

This is the BEST teppanyaki hibachi restaurant in Temecula. They definitely recovered after losing their touch two years ago. Joey was awesome! The only gripe I have is they added some noodle side automatically included with your meal? We didn't want the noodles and didn't like them. You could tell he loved his job amd that made the experience all the better for us as guests. There can be a bit of a wait so I recommend reservations. As a side note, dont eat the entire pineapple if you order the drink that is served in it. Pineapple burns are real. Share the pineapple. I really liked that the menu was electronically displayed outside the restaurant and the restaurants name was displayed like a video game. We walked in and were asked if we wanted to do regular dining or at the grill. We chose a booth and Hang was our server, she was really nice and friendly. We ordered a few sushi rolls and gyoza and a Donburi bowl. The food was really delicious! I think I ordered too much though lol I was full after only one roll. Although our services were outstanding! The Tampora Table was very lackluster. Yes, the chef received monetary donations for his services. As I have reflected on this since I got home, today was more rushed than customer-focused. Our Chef had little to no people skills, and the worst part of the entire visit was the Shogun Ambiance, which was truly never present. Such as the light show with the vegetables, or the beating heart with the large bowl of white rice when you first started with the lunch services. If these guest experiences have changed, that is one thing; however, seeing other patrons receive that high quality while we got nothing was a good sign that we wanted to return for another meal. Food Food was disappointing I ordered 2 rolls a crunchy dragon and a GO GO Roll. They looked great but they were lacking in any type of flavor. Rice felt overcooked I eat a lot of sushi all over the world and this was the worse I've had. My friend ordered the 10 item Fried Rice with steak. He had to wait almost 45 mins for it. All of the dishes were regarded as communal property and available to the first interested party within striking distance when assisted by their individual chopsticks. Regularly frequented by @ct_miller19 and @taylormarie_19, "Shogun" offers a large assortment of rolls that ought to satisfy even a large group of diverse palates. We sampled the Shrimp Tempura Roll, GSC Roll, San Diego Roll, Crunchy Dragon Roll, and Crazy Boy Roll. Although each of them provided a unique path to Flavor Town, they all shared a similar fate: complete domination and utter annihilation! In fact, all of the plates they were served on provided almost no evidence of their prior existence. Also impressive to me was the tanginess of the Cucumber Bites, the balanced proportions of the Garlic Edamame, the controlled aggression of the Spicy Mayo, and the tenderness and flavors of the Gyoza (easily the best I've had in the U.S.). You and your crew are free to adopt your own views regarding sushi eating etiquette, but I recommend that you agree to give Shogun a chance to impress you. This is a nice place to visit on special occasions. We came here to celebrate my partner's graduation and friend's birthday. Great atmosphere and they sing you a song for your birthday! Entertainment and food were good I like this place better than Benihana in Temecula. Chef Jorge did a great job. Our server Charlie was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our time here. The bill was around $400 with tip for 6 people. The special celebration dessert we got was delicious! What a great experience. First, the lobby when arriving. Greeted promptly, told to have a seat for a moment, very large area to wait. Plenty of room if arriving with a large group. Once seated, servers quickly took drink orders while allowing time to review menus. Food ordering was swift and thorough. Now the FUN part. The chef was AWESOME!
