Had an amazing massage with Chris today! I've had a lot of massages and his massage was one of the best! I scheduled the 2 hour Royal Hawaiian Treatment, nothing short of fabulous. 2 hours of bliss and relaxation, while listening to the waves crash on the beach. The hot coconut oil hair treatment was heaven! My hair is so soft tonight. It's not fancy, but a cute little cottage feel and very welcoming. I prefer that over the sterile hotel/resort stuff. We made a res way way in advance at 3pm and the res was later moved to 3:30p then days before our trip she moved it to 4:30p (like no big deal) -- and we had dinner reservations that conflict with this time. Clean & quiet surroundings with the utmost professionalism. Almost lulled to sleep by the nearby ocean waves. Returned a week later for a facial for myself. Very happy with Sydney's excellent service. Aveda products used. So enjoyable and can highly recommend the spa services we selected. First of all let me start by saying if you're going to Kauai and looking for artificial stimulation on Kauai, you are on the wrong island. This spa is not one of those fancy, smancy types of experiences. First of all it's located almost at the end of the road on the North Shore and that's what makes this place so awesome! It's a very unassuming, very relaxing environment. On my last day on Kauai I wake up to see that it's definitely NOT looking like a beach day so I ask my bff what she would like to do in the morning as we knew we were going to be in Hanalei to try this mexican truck at the Hanalei pier that I read about here on yelp (a review on that will follow soon). So she suggested I call the spa in Princeville since we were wanting to get a massage. I opted to log onto Yelp as it hasn't led me wrong yet. I read a couple of reviews and thought "yep; this is the one". So when I called I hoped they would be able to accommodate two appointments. Lucky us! Darci squeezed both of us in straight away. Now, we were staying in Kapaa and knowing the island very well I knew we would need to get on the road ASAP, especially because of the road work being done in Hanalei and the distance from where we were and where they are located. We arrived almost 45 minutes ahead of schedule so I just walked in and told them "Joyce and Karen are here early"! I was greeted by a woman (whose name escapes me now) and I asked if she was Darci. The other woman said, "No, I'm Darci" with a big smile on her face. Here's the main reason I highly recommend this place.....the energy is amazing here! The people working there add to the experience as well. If you want to experience true aloha spirit in a down to earth, very casual environment, this is your place! Shoshana (sp?) was the therapist for both of our massages. I needed and received a deep tissue massage and my friend got more of a relaxing massage and we were both very satisfied with our service. At one point the therapist had her entire body on my glutes and back and I swore she couldn't have weighed more than 90 lbs so when it was all said and done I asked her if she did in fact weight 90 lbs but she said no. I won't tell you her weight as that's nobody's business but I couldn't believe she weighed a pound over 100! Since I went first I had to kill time waiting for my friend to get her massage so I went to the beach that fronts the property. Almost vacant......LOVE THAT! It was awesome to be able to get right into the ocean after a fabulous massage. Definitely will go back with my boyfriend and get the couples beach massage. Hands down (no pun intended) the best massage I have ever had!!! My wife and I just got back from an amazing trip to Kauai and the massages we had at the Hanalei Day Spa were one of the highlights (along with the Waimea Canyon and Na Pali Coast). We were staying at the St. Regis in Princeville (Gorgeous Property) and although the Spa there looked fantastic, we decided on getting our massages at the Hanalei Day Spa based on the reviews. The reviews were spot on. We opted for the Couples Massage on the Beach and it was beyond perfect. Shoshana was my Massage Therapist and she could not have been better. Truly makes me question all the other massages I've had and I've had some expensive ones in the Napa Valley and Las Vegas. My wife agreed that her massage was equally spectacular (Julie??) It's very apparent that these Therapists are HIGHLY TRAINED and take great pride in their craft. Kauai is a very special place and places like the Hanalei Day Spa only add to the magic. My wife and I are already thinking of our next trip there and without question the spa will be on our itinerary. Maybe twice. I honestly can't recommend this place enough. read more

The front desk service was not bad at all. My massage therapist was Julie. I told her I wanted a medium pressure massage. Instead, I had to remind her at least three times to press harder because I could not feel a thing! I had just come from a 6 hour hike, and told her my calves were too sore to put pressure in that area, but she continued to press harder. I don't think she was paying attention to what I was saying and instead, I felt like she mentally clocked out and went with a routine massage. If that was going to be the case, I don't understand why I needed to fill out a paper stating which areas I would like to concentrate on. If you don't get a beach side massage, I wouldn't think it's too worth it because the atmosphere inside is just like any other spa. read more

My husband and I were in Kauai for five days. My husband had planned a round of golf and he suggested that I look for a good spa to spend the time while he was golfing. I am not exactly crazy about regular spas, but once in a while I do enjoy it. I am also not someone who enjoy spending too much money on a spa experience so I was looking for one which would offer a reasonable but special massages. I found this place that offered a therapeutic Ayuevedic warm oil massage for an hr for $100. It was a bit difficult to get an appointment as this place is really boutique with a limited number of therapists, but I was able to get one. My massage therapist was a guy named Nikolau - he used warm sesame oil and his massage style was a combination of deep tissue and sports healing massage. Nikolau was very good at his job and extremely professional. I have not felt so relaxed physically or mentally after any massage as I felt with this one. I really wished that this place was near my home. I would be a regular. read more

Before arriving in Kauai, I had done a little research on day spas and the Hanalei Day spa was the one we decided to go with. We were not disappointed. We had scheduled a couples massage, but unfortunately missed out on the opportunity to have the massage on the beach (which actually worked out fine since it poured rain during our appointment.) Our appointments were for 1pm and we didn't gauge our time correctly for traveling from Kapa'a plus there was road work, so needless to say we weren't going to make the 1pm time. We called and spoke to Darci, the owner, to tell her we'd be late. She was super accommodating and said she could reschedule us for 3:30pm on the same day! That was so nice of her and it allowed us plenty of time to spend a little time in Hanalei window shopping and grab a late lunch. We arrived for our appointment and were greeted warmly by Darci. The day spa is super cute with some retail. We filled out some brief paperwork and waited for a short while for the couples room to be set up. The massage was wonderful and relaxing! A good 80 minute Lomi Lomi massage (full body, light touch - I can't take the deep tissue stuff!) Anytime I fall asleep during a massage I know it's an excellent experience and I'm sure I caught myself snoring lightly. I would highly recommend and would go back the next time we visit Kauai. read more

This Spa is a hidden treasure in North Shore, Kauai. After speaking with Darcy, the owner, over the phone, I expressed individual needs I was hoping she could help me with. She was very reassuring over the phone, friendly, informative and was able to suggest the various services that would suit my needs. I took advantage of the Lomi Lomi w/ hot stones & deep tissue work. Sarah was my masseuse and I could not have been any happier. She was very friendly, professional and made me feel very comfortable. Her hot stone treatment was so incredible, 2 days later I still feel the effects of her tremondous work. Her deep tissue treatment was intense, as I preferred it, and she was always concerned to communicate my comfort levels. I walked away feeling very relaxed and had only wished I had booked a 2 hour massage. If you are looking for frills and the trappings of more expensive Spa's, this place may not be your suiting. However if you are looking for a healing, a good spirit and professional massage work at reasonable prices, I would come back to this place in a heart beat. This spa is not going to give you all the frills and thrills that the St. Regis may, but don't let appearances deceive you. The cost is half as much, and I'd be willing to put money on it that your massage will be twice as good. Listen to all of the 5 star reviews about this place and go here. This was seriously the BEST massage I have ever had. I really wish I could remember my girl's name so I can give her credit, but it was over a month ago that I was there. My husband and I were able to get in for a couples massage with only about an hours notice. The hut where they do the massages outside was the perfect setting, and my girl had magic hands. Normally when I get massages I have to ask them to press harder and when they do, it is just painful, but not this girl. In just an hour I felt so loose and relaxed without an ounce of pain or discomfort during the massage. If I ever go back to Kauai, I swear I am going to book a massage every day because I doubt I'll ever find a girl this good again! Maybe I'll even convince my husband to get me the "4 handed" massage where you have two people working on you at the same time... sounds tempting huh?? read more

My wife of 4 days and I went into Halalei Day Spa hoping to get a couples massage on the beach--and that's exactly what we were treated to. They were able to fit us in on just 3 hours notice--and it was way better than the massages offered in our home of Las Vegas--and infinitely better priced than what's offered in the competitive hotel spas. In case you arrive early, a restaurant voted best of Kauai, is right next door waiting to pour delicious rum drinks! Also, if you're as lucky as us, you'll be asked to "model" for their Facebook page--airbrushing complimentary! Remember to take off your shoes before entering the spa! This was our third time going to the Spa and my least favorite. While I did receive a good massage I felt that: beyond the front desk staff there is not that much spiritual or deep vibes from the therapists - just kind of feels like their job. Also, I feel like the massages are overpriced and my practitioner spent more than 1/2 the time on my legs - which although nice was not needed as deeply as my lower back. While certainly a good option I am not sure I will return. read more

One of the best massages I have EVER had and I have had a lot in my lifetime. I booked a 80 minute 4-hands deep tissue beach side massage and my masseuses' were Javi and Victor. They were both professional and excellent at their craft. They concentrated on the areas I requested. Darci, the owner, was very helpful and welcoming as well. i went in to this little place and asked if they had a massage like that minute- and i was lucky- because they did- and i was knotted up and very uncomfortable-after a back injury ad plenty of physical therapy- i felt lime it was ok to let it go- My massage therapist was Lyn Abondi and very very good- I am kind of strange about letting anyone touch me- and i found her to be very spiritual and her energy very safe. I went back again! This time i got 90 minutes.. and the same therapist-!! This time- whew- she did deep tissue and WOW! I know that both massages have helped me to align myself with my intentions- like-not smoking cigarettes-and eating more vegetables- walking more--etc I think this world can often spin us off center- and as for myself- a massage is the only way to relax sometimes! aloha read more

She did an awesome job and made sure to ask about pressure and make sure I was relaxed and doing well. I always look forward to getting a massage beachside in Hanalei. The staff is always professional and today I was lucky enough to have the healing hands of Forrest (such a cool name) working on my body. I had just spent the morning doing Yoga on the bluff w/ Tulasi (another thing you need to do @ Princeville golf course) and felt so good and gumby that I thought I'd fall asleep during the massage. Forrest did a great job getting me to that high plane of 'gumbiness' - he did find some spots along the way and worked through them. I really appreciated that. After the massage - I felt like I was in Nirvana - totally zen mode and figured out this is what meditating must be all about! LOL! So treat yourself and come here and get a massage. My fiancé and I had a 80 minute couples massage with very different experiences! We opted for the beach side massage which we shouldn't have since it was an overcast drizzly and breezy day. They put me on the outside and I was cold the entire time because the breeze kept blowing my covers off and blowing drizzle on me. The gentleman who massaged me had hands that felt like sandpaper. He liked to push pressure points rather than massage. He even held my ankle for up to 5 minutes, but didn't even bother to warm my feet which were freezing cold. The beachside massage is actually behind a restaurant and the sounds and smells of the ocean are muffled over sounds and smells of the restaurant kitchen. The cost was extremely high and totally not worth it. I would have given a single star, but fiancé was very happy with his massage. read more

Hanalei Day Spa is THE place to go for relaxation and the best Massage on the Island! Last time there we were pampered with the utmost skill and care. It was so relaxing that we both almost fell asleep! The rest of the day was one of Wonder when there were no more Aches or Pains. My massage itself was amazing and very compatibly priced. We did an "inspa" massage. We had Lomi lomi massages. They knew what they were doing and I was in nirvana by the ends. The only reason I can't give five stars is the massage ended 5 minutes early it stoped at 45 and not 50 which I found odd, and when I went to grab a tissue to blow my nose they were covered in ants in fact the whole shelf was. The massage therapists at this place are phenomenal. Not only do they give great massages (best I've ever had!), but their massages literally produce altered states of consciousness. I would never have believed that a massage could do that if I hadn't experienced it myself. I'm literally on a high for days afterward. I've been to Hanalei Day Spa a number of times and have gotten their lomi lomi, as well as their deep tissue m​assages. The last time I went, it turned out the massage therapist I had been working with had departed. However, the owner, Darci,​ assured me that she was very careful in her selection of therapists and that they were all extraordinary. She wasn't kidding. Honestly, I'm not sure what all the hullaballoo is about. I had a massage here by one of the gentlemen -- he had an unusual name, I think it was "Therron" or something like that -- and it was just an average massage. I opted for the beachside massage and while I certainly could hear the waves, I also could hear the diners in the restaurant next door. I popped into the spa that morning, 7 hours ahead of my appointment time, to try and buy some aloe vera product to treat the sunburn on my back. The front desk lady acknowledged that it was a "severe" (her word) burn, said that they didn't have any aloe vera products, and then sold me a bottle of coconut massage oil and advised me to use that. When I returned in the afternoon, following my massage, she went outside and cut a fresh piece of live aloe vera plant for me. While I appreciated it very much, I was wondering why she didn't do that when I first appeared in the morning and asked specifically for aloe vera. read more

My husband read the reviews and we were aware of the prices going in. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner Darci. I did enjoy the water with the mint leaf, nice touch. My 50 minute massage was only 38 minutes. I have a feeling the 50 minutes includes 5 minutes to undress and 5 minutes to dress so that was very frustrating. My husband noted the time our couples massage started and noted the time they stopped. The extra money we paid to have beach front wasnt worth 40$ we couldnt see the ocean and had trouble hearing the waves from the resturant that was directly behind us. My gentleman definately didnt listen to what I told him and my poor husband said he felt as if he paid someone to rub coconut oil on his back. Just when they told us to roll over we still thought there was time left but that was it all 38 minutes. I couldnt even dress quick enough before a lady rudely came in my hut to change the sheets and i was naked, they should of announced themselves. For the price and upgrades my husband and I would of expected so much more. We come to Kauai every summer but I can say we wont be coming back here. Just my honest opinion. read more

My husband and I had the couple's massage here and it was wonderful. While the spa itself is not what I would call "high-end", the masseuse that we both had were absolutely EXCELLENT. If you're looking for the all around spa experience (steam room, sauna, whirlpool, cucumber/lemon water, etc.) this may not be your place. However, if you're looking for a massage that will leave you relaxed and revived...w/o all the fussiness, this is your place.
