PLEASE READ! FRAUDULENT ACTIVITIES. Last night, like many others over the past few years, I decided to book a massage appointment because I have a membership with them. At the end of my service, when asked if I was going to leave a cash tip or on my credit card, I said cash and filled out a gratuity envelope with my. Same, my masseuse's name, and the date. This morning while reviewing my bank account, I realized I was charged $23 for gratuity. When I called Hand and Stone, they said that they had a signed receipt for the charge. I went over and the girls at the front desk did not handle the situation too well. Hand and Stone should have a manager on the premises at all times. This is completely unacceptable. Imagine how many others have probably been robbed as well. Until they can instill some good policies, I think no one should go to this place. read more

For the Clifton location I have used Natalie for my facials and she is amazing. She knows exactly which treatment I need, and my skin is glowing for days. The shoulder massage she gives is spectacular and the whole experience is very relaxing. I highly recommend the dermalinfusion facial for exfoliation and adding serums into the skin. read more

My friends and I came here for her birthday and we each got placed in different rooms. Service was good at the front desk, but the service was even better from the masseuse. She catered to all of my needs, after I told her what areas to work on more. Some lady was arguing at the front desk with the girls about her charges etc. You walk in get worked on and walk out, there is no lounge to rest and relax after. Beyond disappointed with this location, the unprofessionalism on handling their mistake is ridiculous. I booked an appointment, received my confirmation call 2 days prior to my appointment, 3 hours prior to my appointment I receive a call that they overbooked and that I would need to reschedule. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told they were away and will return shortly and will call me back. 2 hours pass, I called back and was told the manager was busy and that I will get a call back in 24-48 hours, then I was put on hold was someone else was put on the phone who stated she was NOT the manager but said "overbooking happens- this is not the first nor would this be the last", followed by "we have 15000 clients, this stuff happens." This happened about 3 days ago.... still no call from the manager by the way. read more

BEWARE OF CANCELATION POLICY. I had a membership for over a year. After the year I put it on freeze on account due to covid. I was charged $10 a month to freeze account when I called 3 months later to unfreeze and cancel membership due to my continued concern about covid. They told me I need to be charged an additional month of $74 per their cancelation policy. I asked why not charge me an additional $10 for the freeze and was told the last charge had to be full amount. My frustration is I paid $900 for a years membership and additional $30 for 3 months freeze and they want to charge me an additional $74 on the way out not very good customer service. I used to go to a hand and stone in New York and always had the best massage regardless of which employee I had for each session. I started going to the Clifton location after moving, and it was significantly worse. This location does not provide a heated bed so you will be freezing the entire time, they will not provide a towel after massage to wipe yourself off, and they will cut your service short. I always signed up for 60 minute massages, arrived at least 5-10 minutes early and had to wait until 5 minutes into my appointment time. Once the masseuse was finished I looked at the clock and it had only been 45 minutes. I also purchased an add on service which was supposed to be 15 minutes, and it was at most 4. I will not be returning to this location. read more

I have been a member here for almost a year. I love seeing Aujah. She has helped me clear up my skin and give me the most amazing glow in preparation for my wedding last October. Not only is Aujah knowledgeable in skin, but she is such a warm and friendly person. I highly recommend going to Aujah for facials. I also love how clean this establishment is. I love how the furniture in the waiting area gets switched up with the various holidays. The front desk team is always friendly and accomadating. While I love Hand&Stone as a company, this location lacks the experience that you would expect. From the minute you walk in, expect total chaos. I had such a terrible experience here that I even considered canceling my membership. Thankfully, I visited another location and remembered that Route 3 Clifton is simply a disorganized and chaotic location. The manager blames their disorganization on them "being too busy." Anyway - the staff are rude and dismissive. You don't feel like you're at a spa, but at a deli waiting for your number to be called. It's truly chaos. When you finally see a massage therapist, don't relax too much since you'll still be able to hear all of the noise outside and it's so difficult to relax. I'll never come here again, I truly wish they improve since they do not represent Hand & Stone. read more

I have been a customer at this location for about a year, it was all good until they started charging my account while they were closed during COVID and then refused to refund my money. The sales manager, Leslie and two staff employees, one pregnant and the other named Candance were very very rude and I quickly learned I had to get rude with them back. Very unprofessional. The front desk staff and sales manager were very confrontational. I will never go back to this location again because of the bad customer service and the refusal of refunding monies. Leslie said she refunded my account but it wasn't done. I had to contact the actual store owners for answers which initially Candance refused to give contact information. She told me they were not available. Still waiting on my refund and they made me use one of the charges before suspending my account. This is a money hungry franchise with rude bitches at the front desk. I am happily paying more money for monthly massages and great customer service elsewhere because I will not spend my hard earned money at this location. Un-freaking-believable. I don't write reviews usually, but after my experience with this place I felt like I had to share. First and foremost they have very few staff there that are actually helpful. Most seem to be young and rude. They must get paid commission or have some type of incentive for memberships and upgrading your services because they're very keen on that. I had 1 massage and 1 facial since becoming a member in May. I had the Himalayan stone massage which I also added the cbd oil to, and I was pretty underwhelmed. I got the impression the massage therapist I got was not very experienced. She basically dug into me with a stone and used very little oil which was odd to me. All in all it was pretty mediocre. I then had a facial which I initially booked as a basic facial because my skin is pretty normal and the girl that was taking care of me made it a point to talk down on this service. She said it would basically be just a mask and moisturizer. If I wanted extractions it would be an additional $10. I didn't feel like my skin looked any greater after the facial and despite paying the extra $10 my skin still felt congested. When I called to cancel my membership they told me I would lose my packages if I didn't use them before canceling, and I would have to give them a 30 days notice or they would bill me a months fee regardless of me calling immediately after being billed. After finally canceling I discovered I wouldn't actually lose my packages I would just have a 90 day window to use them. Needless to say I would just stay away and definitely wouldn't not recommend. read more

Got there and i had a male masseuse when i explained to them that i need a female i didnt feel comfortable with the guy without going into detail because i was hoping they would put 2 and 2 together and i was slightly embarrassed by the whole situation they got nasty and were not understanding at all . I asked to make sure my card number was not in there system to make sure i wasnt still going to be charged and they were even more nasty about that . Be careful when you cancel the suscription. I had 8 sessions left, I cancelled because we had to move. They did not tell me the sessions expire within 90 days, it is in the small print of the cancellation contract but they do not bring it up to your attention. Awesome experience the moment you walk in the door! The entire staff is courteous and professional--much better than the other massage place on Route 3 in Clifton. In fact, they should be "envious" of Hand and Stone because I've been to both and H&S is much better in every aspect! I had two massages here and both were great. My favorite is Valerie. Front desk was friendly and even though there was a scheduling issue for our couples massages they were able to fit us in on time. The massages were nothing special. We had requested Hot Stones as an add on and they weren't used. The masseuses (both male) were either too hard or too light at different random times. We went for facials on Valentine's day. The interior was nicely decorated and the waiting room had a pleasant smell. The facial lasted about an hour and it included black head extraction of the nose, shoulder and hand massage as well. It was very relaxing. I used to love coming here, this location WAS great. But since the new ownership the quality has down-graded completely in costumer service and hospitality. The masseuse's are wonderful don't get me wrong. But getting through to someone to answer is almost impossible. She was very good and really focuses on the area that you need.
