Received a facial from Lael and it was wonderful. This was my third time going to her. I highly recommend her. Her facials are great - she has a great touch and my skin looks so good afterward. I called to see if there was any availability for facial and I was told to come in 3pm 10/17/24. Got there checked in I was undressed in bed waiting for 10mins for someone to come. Finally two girls walked in to tell me I have to leave because they booked two people at the same time and I was the one who needed to leave! Enjoyed a pink himalayan salt stone massage at this location on 2/14/2018. Crystal was very attentive to my request for deed mid-point applied pressure. The added peppermint essential oil aromatherapy was soothing. The additional warm foot soak was a treat. After my massage I received an anti-aging collagen facial by Danieka. Daneika was knowledgeable and extremely professional. She explained all of the products being applied and the hand massage was relaxing. I'm from out of town and called to make a massage appointment since I was experiencing some shoulder pain. Since I'm not familiar with the area, I arrived for my appointment almost an hour early and was greeted by the sweet Spa Associate, Britney. She made me feel welcome and took her time explaining the process to me. She was even specific to make sure I marked the section on my massage pressure preference. I opted for medium pressure. Since I was early, Britney informed me that Marisa was available for a facial. So glad things worked out because I got a facial as well. Marisa is very knowledgeable and provided one of the best facials I've had and I've had many facials in my lifetime. She left my skin feeling so soft, hydrated and glowing. She even left my eye make up on so I can enjoy the night out in town and provided some great restaurant recommendations. Kay, my massage therapist have healing hands. The pressure was exactly to my preference and she helped relieve my shoulder tension. She listened to my request and focused on the areas I specifically asked for. I left the spa feeling so relaxed and truly appreciative for the great customer service I received from all three of the employees -- Britney, Marisa and Kay. As a long time customer I will never go back after overhearing what the owner Suresh or how ever you spell it is doing, he is cleaning house and firing management for no reason, especially after his sales went up so many % in the past few years because of the people who were hired. Has no care for his employees and I can only imagine how he would treat a customer "guest" if he were actually there ever...!!! I'd understand anyone going there for the staff but just remember their job is soon about to be gone. And that's at any location! I can't stand an owner who is there for the money and when a manger starts making profit gets fired because he doesn't wanna pay them what they are worth and would rather spend the money training for a new manager and paying them less just to get to the sales then fire them. read more

Best staff I've encountered with this chain. Accidentally booked at this location instead of my normal one, and I'm so happy I did. Very clean, professional and the staff went above and beyond. Not into facials, but my esthetician made me want to get into facials more. My massage therapist was very kind and attentive. Knowledgeable about sports medicine! Terrible Experience. Please hire an attorney to review their contract before signing it, as it is intentionally written to trick you into paying for services you don't use. For example, they have a right to continue to charge you for massages even after you cancel your membership. Canceling the confusing contract is difficult to do, and (of course) they continue to charge you while you are going through all the hoops. The staff at the Chamblee Hand & Stone was extremely rude and obnoxious during this whole wretched process. This place is obviously just in it for the money, but if they continue to alienate customers like this they won't stay in business much longer. read more

I come here routinely for massages with Sue Ann! She's great .. makes you feel comfortable and provides very soothing pre natal massages. I am very picky when it comes to who does my massages but Sue Ann has been very consistent and I don't mind driving down from Alpharetta to this location just for her service! The front desk personnel however has changed recently and don't seem very accommodating. They could definitely improve upon in that aspect. For that reason I would give four stars. I've received two massages from SueAnn, and she was a wonderful massage therapist! She made the process easy, and I enjoyed her use of aromatherapy. The location is also super convenient since it is next to Whole Foods. The only reason I can't give this place 5 stars is because the cancelation process is difficult and not very clear. What a horrible experience!! I have been here twice and was even more disappointed the second time around. I arrived to my appointment early, and my masseuse was 15 minutes late. Typically if a client is late to an appointment by this amount of time they are charged a fee, however, it was no issue for the service provider to be late. There was little apology for this. Once she arrived, I was brought into a room that clearly was not fully ready. When the masseuse left the room for me to prepare for my treatments, it took 5-10 minutes for her to return. This is typically just a few minutes. I was seconds from getting up and leaving. Halfway through the massage the masseuse told that there was a note under the door for her and left the room. When she returned, she proceeded to give me a long story about how there were people near her vehicle and needed to make sure she was aware...very relaxing!!! Beyond the horrible service, this was the worst massage I've ever had. There was no technique and the movements were random and did not flow. The ending of the massage was very incomplete and ended abruptly. To top it off, the front desk was a nightmare. The women at the front were incredibly unhelpful and acted as if my presence was an inconvenience to them. What a shame! I know of several people who visit other locations and are extremely happy, but this location is a total loss. read more

I am a Hand & Stone Member and I have been to several in GA and various cities/states. I usually have great experiences even when my massage itself wasn't so great which is rare, but it has happened. On this occasion (Sept. 2), I booked massages for myself and two relatives. The female who greeted us was very friendly and so too was my masseuse. The compliments stop here. My massage was "okay" at best. That isn't the worst part. When my massage was over, I came out to the waiting area to find out that one of my cousins NEVER went back to get her massage. Allegedly, her therapist "passed out" before calling my cousin back and ended up leaving work. Not in an ambulance, not escorted by anyone else, just walking slowly out of the spa. My cousin said it took the person waiting at the reception desk (not the same one who greeted us) almost 10-15 min to come and tell her what was going on. They didn't offer her another therapist or another treatment although two employees were sitting together behind the desk the entire time she sat waiting for us to finish up. It was not busy at all while we were there. Two people sitting behind the desk while a client wasn't being serviced is unacceptable. My cousin just sat there idle for an hour while we were being seen!!! Ridiculous. She happened to be in close proximity to one of the hanging waterfalls which started DRIPPING on her head and ruined the middle of her hairstyle. She was offered a TISSUE. Not a towel, but a tissue. When I finally came out, my cousin, NOT ANYONE from Hand & Stone told me what happened. They gave her a small free sample bag!!! I am the member & I booked the appointment. They were charged to my account and you never address me? My cousin was from out of town which is the reason why we were even getting massages on Saturday. Had I been informed, I would have gladly given up my massage so that she could have one. When I went to the desk for information the young woman and young man, (didn't get their names) but the male had dreads, braids or twists and he and the young woman were both African-American. I hope that helps identify them bc they did not do a thing. They did not apologize. They did not offer to remove her massage from my account, but I will be calling on Tuesday regarding that issue. Heck, if I had not addressed them, they would have said nothing as we walked out of the door. This was the WORST experience I've had at any spa including Hand & Stone. I wish I could have given this experience a negative star rating...in no way does it deserve 1 star. I will not return to this location again and suggest you save yourself the headache and schedule your appointment at the Sandy Springs location, which is where I normally go, but they were booked. Again, I will definitely be following up with then on Tuesday, but could not wait that long to post this review. read more

TERRIBLE!!! My husband brought me to this location for a facial as a surprise for both of us. We came at 3:40 for our 4:00 /4:30 appointments . While trying to check in with the two women at the front desk who decided to keep having a personal conversation about hummus,pita ,bad coffee, and needing to clean up before family members came in town. We were then made aware that the service that we were scheduled for was a massage and not a facial. Instead of apologizing for this miscommunication and rescheduling us for another day ,the front desk woman proceeded to ask who did we speak to?where do we book this appointment ?and are we sure that's what we asked for? We were called four times to confirm our appointment just to get the wrong service. my husband asked the woman at the front desk if we could cancel for today and rebook for next week and she chose to ignore him and speak to another customer. Just had my third massage at Hand and Stone from Therapist SueAnne. I am a massage therapist my self but retired years ago. SueAnne's pressure and intuition (so important when giving a massage) is exactly what I need. She knows her craft and is much more than her training. I highly recommend Hand and Stone. Everyone who works there is excellent and friendly from the receptionists to the esticians. Lastly, but very important, it is affordable. And if you are a member (the monthly "dues" are applied to our services) we get discounts on gift certificates and products. Highly recommended. read more

Wow! so my experience with Hand and Stone has been TERRIBLE after Joy left the company. My massages were soft rubs and rushed. The customer service with one of the ladies answering the phone was thee worst! The only reason I am leaving this 4 star review is because Of Francesca and Tori! They both saved my cancellation! Francesca is always great when I call and have questions. While tori reassured me that she would set me up with the best massage therapist they had. She was extremely accommodating and understand. And honestly help relax my frustrations with the whole being charged situation. I believe in not only speaking up when I am unhappy but also speaking up when customer service is done the correct way. Not at all what I expected. I booked an hour facial that SAID included extractions. I wrote on the form when I arrived that taking out blackheads and such was my priority. When Daniela asked what I wanted to focus on during my facial, I said removing blackheads. May as well have said nothing, she just spread a bunch of crap on my face. While the mask was drying, she just sat there... for like 15 minutes... no little shoulder rub, nothing. It was very awkward knowing she was just sitting there for so long. But she did make sure to try to sell me products through out the facial. Very annoying and not relaxing having to dodge her sales pitches for an hour. Not worth even half of what I paid. The massage was better. Chloe focused on my shoulders like I asked but barely massages my feet which is another pain point of mine that I discussed with her. Most of all she had to wear latex gloves because she had allergies. So, often, the oil she was using would run out but she couldn't feel it and she'd rub and it was irritating more than anything. It felt like I was being rubbed down by a balloon. Needless to say, I'll be looking for a better place. read more

While my facial was great, I will not be returning. I am still dumbfounded. The entire experience from when you walk in the door until you leave is hardcore, in your face upselling. The things they are in your face to attempt to get you to purchase are products, memberships, additional services, packages, and scheduling future appointments with the unsold packages attached before you leave. To me, getting a facial is pampering. I do not want to be badgered the entire time I am there about buying more, more, more. I spent $100, including the tip, obviously that was not near enough. First facial l received was fine for the price, so decided to sign up for membership. I found the facials to be sub par even with upgrades after I signed up. The facial I received before deciding to cancel my membership was horrible. The hour facial I paid for with upgrades was done in in 35 minutes due to Esthetician running late. I cancelled my membership by filling out their requested termination request with 30 days notice in January, and am still being charged the monthly service amount. I have contacted them several times to address and they keep saying the Manager will call me back. To date the Manager has not called me. read more

I purchased a Groupon for a 60-minute massage and 60-minute facial. My experience was pretty disappointing. I had Mertha for my massage, and she was pretty good - although, I was very sore the next day (and still am two days later). Her level of intensity wasn't consistent. Sometimes she was way too gentle, and other times she was way too rough. My facial was HORRIBLE, though. Tarsha finished a 60-minute facial after 45 minutes. I said no to all the add-ons prior to starting, but she tried to sell me additional services DURING the facial! So unprofessional and made it the opposite of relaxing. The extractions lasted for about a minute and a half, and I KNOW I had more blackheads (I went home and got them myself). She put a face mask on that lasted probably ten minutes, and instead of a hand or shoulder rub, she did absolutely nothing. I won't return. read more

I was a member (just cancelled today) and this has to have been one of the most unacceptable customer service experiences ever! On my first visit to this location my masseur reeked of cigarette smell and wasn't very good. I booked a 2nd session only because the manager promised I would be please with another masseuse Sue-Ann. Well she was correct Sue-Ann was amazing so much so that I decided to become a member. I requested that from now on I only wanted to be booked with her and they said they would make note of it in my file. My next few visits were great although Sue-Ann was late to my last appointment the manager was very pleasant and apologized and said she would note that I waited in my file and would apply a discount towards future purchases for the inconvenience...wow great customer service right....well wrong. I went in today for my monthly appointment with Sue-Ann that I scheduled a month ago and i was interested in purchasing a product that I purchased before so I asked about the discount that the manager noted, and the front desk said they didn't see it. Okay fine no big deal right...wrong I'm then approached my the exact same masseur from my initial visit and I'm embarrassed when I have to tell him I'm sorry but you won't be providing me with service today. I mean really the masseur I requested not to be booked with is my masseur today...why?!?!?. The front desk tells me that Sue-Ann is no longer with them, but there's no notes on my file about not wanting cigarette guy and no one bothered to call to tell me they were switching my masseur. The final insult was that I requested to be reimbursed for this months fee since I didn't get my massage (and since they did they exact opposite of what I came there for - they added stress to my day)and cancel my membership. I know this wasn't the policy but they handled my situation so poorly that I just wanted out. Now instead of the manager doing what I asked which would have implied the great customer service he claims they'll be providing with a recent turnover in management and ownership he adds insult to injury and only allows me to cancel and doesn't apply a refund. I'm sure giving me a refund wouldn't have been what the new owner wanted but now you've angered me and I've already told several friends who were going to join this location this story and they have all changed their minds. This was my first time visiting this location for a massage and facial. I stopped in last week and had a very positive experience with the Spa Manager at the front desk. She was by far one of the friendliest and most professional spa professionals I have ever met. Today's Massage was good and the therapist provided a solid massage although some parts of it felt rushed to me. Perhaps it was just his technique. The facial was good and the esthetician was professional. The experience was good except there was an awkward silence for about 10 minutes during the mask application that wasn't explained to me and it seemed that she could do a massage or something while the mask was drying. That has Always been my experience with other facials. The staff after the appointment were extremely friendly and professional, and I shared this feedback with them as constructive feedback. They were very appreciative and thanked me for sharing it. The facility is spotless and very clean and the location is only a few months old. I booked another appointment for December and look forward to going back soon. I would recommend giving this location a try especially if you are in the Chamblee or Brookhaven area. read more

I wish I could give them a 0 but that isn't possible. The first time I went here, the massage therapist literally rushed through the massage. I wasn't able to relax at all. She talked A LOT, as if we were friends! The lights in the room were extremely bright, and the massage ended about 10 minutes before it was over. I had a gift card, so I decided to come back, ignorant to the fact there were other locations, I went back to this one. I had to cancel my appointment because my mom bailed on me. So when I called to cancel, the lady told me that it would be 50% because it was same day. No big deal, right, but I was not told that. So she put me on hold and said the owner would call me in the morning. So I get a call this morning and the manager says "Hello, this is such and such from Hand and Stone Massage in Chamblee, I was told you wanted me to call you".... WRONG SIR, Your poorly educated receptionist said you wanted to call me. So we proceed to talk and I explain the situation. That his front desk did not tell me about a cancellation policy, he then called me a liar and he says, well I am going to charge you. I expressed that was fine and I would just proceed with a law suit. Now mind you, I HAVE NO ISSUES WITH PAYING FOR THE CANCELLATION FEE, but what you are not going to do is insult me because you think as the owner, you are important. You own a less than sub par franchise that is failing sir. So I told him maybe he could listen to the recording of our conversation and he said that he would, I told him I would wait while he got it, then all of a sudden, it was going to take too long so he can't get it. So he then just asks that I never come back to his business, as if that was going to happen anyways. I was only coming the second time because it was free. But after reading the other reviews on this location, I would have never come in the first place. Poor customer service, poor massage therapy service, poor management, poor everything all around. Save your money and go to a different location or a different spa franchise in general. And to the manager, I recorded all of our conversations and intend to move forward with the law suit! I'd constantly be asked to purchase a gift card , chased outside for more tips , lied to about adjusting our memberships , they were just after money ! My experience at Sandy Springs was so much better that I resumed my membership and even though it's much farther from me than Brookhaven , it's worth it . go to the Sandy Springs Location instead !!! read more

This has to be the WORST massage I've ever gotten. I was greeted by the friendly (or so I thought) massage therapist, Susanne. As we got back to the room she asks what I would like to focus on. I responded, only neck, back and mainly shoulders, but I don't want a deep tissue. The muscles are too tender. She said okay and then throughout the massage proceeded to dig her elbow into my back despite me telling her several times that it hurt and several times almost squirmed off of the table. I couldn't relax at all because this massage hurt the entire 60 minutes. I guess after 20 min or so she asks me to turn over. Which I did, but I also asked if she could finish the massage on my shoulders since that's what's hurting. NO RESPONSE. I waited a minute or two and I asked again, no response, she picked up some card and looked and put it back and continued grinding her knuckles against my back with my body weight on them. I ASKED AGAIN ( since I am paying for this service, right?) and she FINALLY responded "sorry I don't have time to do that" I tell the front desk and she took off $10 and said I could still come back for a facial at introductory price --nevermind that I was in intense pain from the massage I got!!!!!! I emailed and called to give her more details and she also NEVER RESPONDED!! I will never go here again or recommend this place to anyone. Unprofessional and they don't listen to your concerns. After all that, the front desk still tried to ask me to buy a membership package!!!!! I am disgusted!!!! read more

I received a flyer in the mail advertising a $49.95 massage. I called an made appointment this morning (8/13/17) at around 11:00 a.m. They only had one slot left at 5:00 p.m., so I took that slot. They said a credit card was necessary to hold the reservation, so I gave them a credit card number. They said I was confirmed for a massage with Antoinette at 5:00 p.m. I asked them what time I needed to be there, and they said 4:45. I arrived for the massage at 4:40 p.m., and they had no record of my appointment. They asked if I called the right number, and I verified the number was correct. The guy I made the appointment with was actually there, and he admitted that he remembered me but he and another lady could not figure out why my appointment was given away to Michelle. They were nice and apologized, but basically that was it. I can't believe they didn't at least offer to give me a free or discounted massage. If it were my business, I would have tried my best to get another masseuse there, or apologize profusely and offer something. So much for relieving my stress! I'll give them a VERY GENEROUS 1 star because they are a new business and were polite. read more
