I love a graham base, reminds me of my fav soft serve flavor. The chocolate covered crunchies were the perfect addition for a little something cocoa and some great texture. Handel's has always been a spot I went to when I lived in downtown Eugene. They had so many amazing different flavors and the hours were always fantastic with my school schedule. The shop is located in an "alley" across from Nike. It is always decorated during winter for Christmas and a nice place to sit and eat your icecream. When you walk in, the flavors are above the ice cream so you don't need to hop in like right away. The workers have always been very kind and let you try the flavors if needed. They normally have one or two sorbet options if you're vegan, which have all been really great when I tried them! Even though there were only two parties ahead of me, I still had to wait a little bit due to there only being one person on staff at the moment. The wait was worth it though. It was a cold, rainy day and I didn't care, The market was decked out in Christmas/Holiday decorations and I was in the mood for seasonal flavors. I am a huge lover of Handel's ice cream! I was so excited when I checked in to my hotel and saw a Handel's across the street. I knew I had to make time to grab a scoop! The line was out the door when I got in it, but they do a great job of keeping the line moving quickly. There is no where to sit so it is definitely a grab and go location. If it's a nice day, they do have tables outside! I ordered the buckeye ice cream, which is peanut butter ice cream with buckeyes and a fudge ripple throughout. I got it in a waffle bowl and added peanut butter sauce on top. This is a must try for pb lovers! The flavors are exactly what you can imagine and I loved the amount of swirl in the ice cream. Handels is the best icecream in Eugene without a doubt!! I've been here before but saw that they have a four scoop sampler and wanted to come back to try that. This place gives humungous portions. A small is actually like 3 scoops. Great selection of flavors. Friendly employees. What intrigued me about the 4 scoop sampler was that is only 7$ which I think is a pretty good deal since at some ice cream places one scoop can be that much. And as someone who gets cookie dough pretty much every time I eat icecream the sampler was nice because I could get that and also try other flavors. My favorite out of the flavors I got was the birthday cake but they were all so good. The ice cream has a ton of mix ins which I love and it's super soft and creamy. I normally prefer soft serve over hard ice cream but I love theirs because it's the perfect consistency. No indoor seating here but plenty of outdoor.
