It moved, probably slower than I thought it would. I wanted to try some flavors before committing and was told I could only try two. Tasted the Raspberry Cheesecake and Coconut Pineapple. The coconut pineapple was sooo delicious. A piece of Hawaiian paradise. IYKYK It's a generous scoop and good thing she handed me a cup because the cone couldn't "handle" the ice cream. Management: You need to do better in coordinating the scheduling to accommodate prime times !!! Came in on Saturday 5/2 after 3:30 pm. There was already a long line forming, about 15 people ahead of us and 20 behind us . We waited 50 minutes to finally get to the window . I felt bad for the little ones and elderly for having to stand that long to get ice cream . There were only two employees working. One was serving the online orders. There is something about ice cream and rain that go hand in hand. I have gone here a couple times since they opened and each visit has been positive. Staff are very pleasant to interact with. They do not rush you to pick and option even when the line is crazy long they make you feel like your their top priority. As a very indecisive person, I sooooo appreciate that. You can order ahead of time for pick up or get in the queue(like I normally do) and try some different flavors before making a choice of cone or pint to go. I am incredibly frustrated by my recent visit to this location. I came in with my twins, only to be told that the store strictly enforces a "one free baby cone per paid adult item" rule. Because I am one parent buying one item, they would only give a baby cone to one of my twins.To make matters worse, the only "solution" to get around this rigid rule is to run two entirely separate transactions. Forcing a parent managing twins to stand at the window making multiple individual payments just to secure a second tiny, two-bite baby cone is absolutely ridiculous and completely annoying. It completely disregards the reality of parenting multiples.While this is an independently owned franchise location, the parent company, Handel's Homemade Ice Cream, needs to fix how this corporate framework treats families. A brand that markets itself as a family-friendly neighborhood staple shouldn't penalize parents of twins or make them jump through transactional hoops. I really enjoyed what Handel's Homemade Ice Cream brings to the Canyon Crest area and that is some fluffy, delicious ice cream. While they are located next to Rite Aid, where they sell ice cream; as well as Ralph's, where you can purchase ice cream, and a mom and pop shop that sells ice cream, the quality is just superior to the other ice cream offerings in this town center. What makes Handel's different is also by their physical shop: it's a walk-up shop like walking up to the ice cream truck! Because I'm new to Handel's, I shared one of their 4-scoop samplers and got to taste 2 items I really liked: Coconut Pineapple and Brownie Dough. Oh the Blueberry Crumble is really good too! Ordered the medium ice cream bowl online, which clearly shows a waffle cup in the photo, and when I go to get my order it says to go to window 6 which is exclusively for to go orders, but they just kept calling up guests from the line. I didn't know how to get the order until an employee came outside. I tried Handel's for the first time today and was very impressed with the flavor choices and the quality. I had a Raspberry Dream Cream cone, a blend of delicious homemade raspberry sherbet and vanilla ice cream. The crisp tanginess of the sherbet and the rich vanilla were a perfect combo. I also bought a pint of Monkey Business which is banana ice cream with caramel and brownie bites. I had to force myself to put the container in the back of the freezer so I wouldn't eat the whole thing in one sitting! The service was quick and very friendly. The server seemed genuinely delighted to describe the ingredients in each flavor that interested me. My only wish is that they had someplace to sit down and enjoy the ice cream. There is only a service window and it's up to the customer to find some place to sit. Eating my cone in the car on a nice day like today wasn't so bad, but I wouldn't want to have to do it in the heat of summer.
