This was ok-not sure it lived up to the hype. Feels a bit pretentious and expensive for what you really get. Beer served in a half-pint glass with a coozie is sweet but doesn't go with the $32-75 priced entrees. Read the menu very carefully-if it says diver scallop and sausage it means you get one scallop and one sausage. Oysters were delicious and the steak was perfect. Lamb and fried chicken were also great (note-$32 for fried chicken). Would love if they served some rolls or bread to start. Place is good but there are definitely better options that are worth the price in Park city. read more

We came here for a bachelorette dinner based off of the reviews and ratings but wow we were extremely underwhelmed. Our group ordered many items off of the menu, and some of the items were delicious, the kale salad, parmegiano-Regiano and pork belly tasted good (hence the two stars), but the steak and Bucatini were extremely flavorless and bland, the bucatini was supposed to be a mushroom bolognese with truffle and it tasted nothing like those flavors at all and it was all cold which added to the blandness. A few of the drinks came out incorrectly and had ice in it where it wasn't supposed to. And on top of that, the experience we were given by the server was inadequate and that we felt like were a bother to her. As visitors to Park City we were so excited to try Handle and we were very very disappointed. For the price, the flavors and the service I would say I would not come back. read more

So much to say about this unique dining experience. We phoned ahead to ensure three spots at the small bar that gives diners a close up look into the kitchen. This is wonderful, watching chef Eric is amazing and fun; love getting to quiz about the dishes. but it's a little cramped and the stools are not the most comfortable, particularly after a long day of hiking. Now, what you must understand is that the menu looks extremely limited. But as my good friend Gordon Ramsay always says: "keep your menu simple, cooking everything you offer with passion." And Briar Handly has got this philosophy down. Start with A meat and cheese plate that is chocked full of tempting items; truly substantial and full of flavors that get your mouth tingling. Let me suggest, this is one starter you could have as a meal and you'll be happy you chose it. We also HAD to have the Buffalo Cauliflower (served with a yummy slaw and a delightful white spicy sauce). Next up, fried chicken that was so unbelievably tender, with a tangy, spicy breading. As good as the chicken was, along with a savory cheesy waffle, topped with a tomato-based spicy sauce, the star of this dish (can't believe I'm about to write this) is the mustard greens with an Asian sauce that had me reeling. Things were going so much better than any of us could ever imagine that we doubled down on dessert: get yourself some of the caramel pudding and some lemon blueberry white chocolate mousse. 5 stars for Handle. Without a doubt. We've had some of our most memorable meals here. It's hard to recount the specific dishes (with the exception of the outstanding "63 degree egg") becuase we've now eaten here over a dozen times. But.. I once heard a chef say, "sauce is the soul of food" and these guys NAIL their sauces! It's what stands out every time. The seasonal menu always provides a good variety of sweet and savory options and the one thing we've found to be consistent on their menu is the Carmel whiskey pudding. Holy smokes. It's thick, it's rich, it's to die for. And the Chex mix topping adds a perfect texture to it. Handle has us hooked and we're definitely coming back for more each season. read more

We had the bread which, though not worth $12 (menu said $1) was still spectacular! Oysters were some of the best I've ever had. Possibly THE best. Worth every cent! Brussels were perfection but also overpriced @ $20 Shrimp and grits: delicious! Very tiny. 4 shrimp. Two spoonfuls of grits. But also way over priced. $38 Fried chicken: this was the only thing that was meh. No real flavor. Dry. The collard greens were cold and bland. Nothing really went together here. $42 for 1/2 chicken. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't great. Whisky pudding was SO GOOD, but also beyond tiny. $14 It was served in a Small jar, filled about 1/4 of pudding. Literally two small spoonfuls. Great wine. Had the cauliflower in buffalo hot wing sauce very nice and tastey , the wood ear mashroom fried and topped over san marzano tomatoes with chopped basil was so yummy and totally recommended, we ordered the fried chicken .. well not sure how I feel about it, so apparently they soak it is some liquid over night, which makes it juicey, but I swear I had them return it twice to the kitchen because I thought it wasn't cooked it tasted so gammey even thoguh ut was friend? I would put this place maybe 2-3 stars. Food was a mixed bag, vibe a no for sure, very busy, trying to be too cool. We had a reservations and we're sat 45 minutes late. The vibe is they had an hour to setup decor before restaurant wars so the threw a bunch of velvet drapes on the walls and put snoop dog on and a handful of cheap track lights. The apps were very good, good wine list. The pasta was mush and bland. The sides for the mains were really under seasoned and just blah. Prior to visiting Park City, I had some (mis)conceptions that this tourist-town is mainly what it portrays itself to be. World class ski slopes but also mainly touristy restaurants (in other words, not exactly a place for food-centric folks). Well, Handle proved me wrong. The cocktails were solid and food was outstanding. Oysters - fresh and flavorful that you don't even to squeeze the grilled lemon over it (the lemon does make a good prop for your insta pics). Diver scallop - perfect bite size appetizer that came with risotto cooked in country ham broth?! Yes please. Another good one for your insta pic. Idaho trout- most unique dish of the night for us. It has your veggie intake covered as well as good portions of cured fish. Cauliflower - not what we had expected as it came bite-sized and deep fried. However, the unexpected sometimes can be a good thing and this was one of those moments. Venison chop - executed just like how we wanted it to be, medium rare. Meat was tender and flavorful. I hate to use the word "foodie" because what the heck does that really mean. But for those who are visiting Park City, check this place out. We were almost 40 when this happened. My partner was carded and they wouldn't take their Canadian ID and as per Utah law they required a passport. What an absurd law, even the US State dept does not recommend US citizens to carry their passport around. Anyhow, I understand they can say it's the "law" but it is a subjective call to decide who you card and who you don't card. I regret not leaving at this point. It only got worse. Continuing, the ""Baller" bone-in ribeye" steak was anything but. Defines mediocrity. I could've cooked the steak better myself. What a let down. The mushroom bolognese was really good, and it was vegetarian. Except for one thing - it swam in a deep pool of it's own grease. bleh. This is what prompted me to finally write the review. I just ate some pasta and it was greasy... but not as bad as this. It's been a little over a year since this happened, but this restaurant always stood out in my memory as a benchmark of how bad places can be. Outstanding on all levels! We were at first impressed with the quality of care we were afforded by the Handle team. GM Sean (I hope I'm spelling that right) is truly wonderful and helped with our reservation for the evening. I mentioned it was my husband's 40th birthday celebration, and when we arrived there was a card for him on our table. We immediately knew that this was going to be an unforgettable experience. Our waitress was kind and engaging and helped tons with some menu choices that we were very grateful for. We started our meal with the Green Gazpacho (with crab); it was delicious! The complexity of flavors within the dish was such that I had not experienced before. There were sweet notes followed by tang then spice and they all kept me going back for more. We then enjoyed a risotto dish which had Morel mushrooms elegantly lining the center of the dish. UNREAL GOOD. We ended with the halibut and were truly amazed with the variety of flavors within that and every dish we enjoyed. All in all, if you are in Park City do yourself a big favor and get a table at Handle. You won't be disappointed. read more

We were so looking forward to coming to this place as it came recommended by local. This place is highly overpriced with extremely small portions and low quality food. They say they source from local farmers and that's far from the truth. We ordered the Hamachi to try and the bread with sorrel butter. The bread tasted as if it was from a local grocery store & no sign of sorrel in site. As a matter of fact it didn't even taste like butter! The Hamachi was smothered with syrup and a cream sauce that tasted like ice cream. Who does that to poor sashimi?! We mentioned our concerns to the Staff & they could care less. Everything was delicious, but of these, the burrata and fried chicken stood out as most divine. Of note, another friend raved about the cheeseburger (?). My wife and so came into Park City for a weekend getaway and hope to try some nice food while we were out here. Handle didn't disappoint. They were easy to make a reservation online which meant we had no wait when we arrived even though they had a pretty busy dinner service gong on. Our server was very nice and engaged in pleasant conversation but also gave us plenty of space to enjoy our meal. We ordered a meat and cheese plate which had a bunch of local delights and was a very generous portion. For the main my wife had scallops and I had the fish. It was a black cod with a hearty salad base. Flavors were amazing. I didn't leave a thing. My wife ate the scallops and she described it as inventive, she enjoyed the rice and the scallops which were perfectly cooked. Normally not a dessert person but we went the whole hog and got dessert as well. I had apple pie which was a very small portion but not a bad thing. It was actually the perfect size to wrap up without feeling stuffed. The price tag was fair and matched the quality of food being delivered. All in all a very nice experience worthy of a 5 star rating and I would be happy to eat here again. read more

I really loved this place for years and LOVED the small unique plates that we shared with pals. I think with the expansion - and based on the chef's comments - maybe some of the patrons - they've shifted from that imaginative small plate style to a more traditional give me a big steak situation. Also what used to be a leisurely stroll through the menu felt real really rushed as is turning the table as quick as possible was more of a priority. We sat at the bar looking into the kitchen and clearly the team has it together and what we had was good - but for the price - well - we missed the smaller more intimate place. There are other spots.
