Cons: Burger was horrible, ordered medium, came out medium rare- bleeding and had a gas flavoring to it. My spouse was struggling to eat it- told him to send it back... Genuinely the worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant. Let me start with the fact that I've only ever left 5 star reviews at restaurants because of great service. I work in the restaurant industry, so I really appreciate good service and I always tip well, and I take reviews seriously. We confirmed ahead of time that Sammy's could seat our party of ten -- they said "just come." On top of that, their Google profile said they were animal friendly, so I assumed my service animal would be well received. When we arrived with most of our group and the rest just minutes away, we were immediately seated. But then things fell apart. After being seated, we were told we shouldn't have been seated until our full party arrived -- despite the staff being the ones who seated us. When we asked if Emilia wanted us to stand back up and wait in the lobby, she said no, don't worry about it. Yet we felt like a burden the entire meal. The staff seemed frustrated with us rather than accommodating. To make matters worse, my chicken parm -- which they tout as their most famous dish -- arrived cold and watery. I ended up replacing it with the kids' chicken nuggets, which ironically tasted far better. The biggest issue was our server, Emilia. She repeatedly shamed me for having my service animal -- a trained epilepsy detection dog who was quiet, well-behaved, and doing exactly what he's trained to do: staying by my side. I was stunned and humiliated. On top of all that, they refused to split the check for a party of ten -- a completely standard request. When I asked to speak with a manager, Emilia said they weren't available and that she would be talking to them about my service animal. Management, please reach out if you want to make this right. Tried the Chicano Club after seeing it featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Overall, tasty but not quite the "wow" factor I was expecting. The meatball sub was loaded with tasty meatballs -- couldn't finish it and happily took the rest home. I don't usually like curry bowls when other options are available. But the one here was super delicious. It could've used a bit of spice, but that's easily fixable if it was a huge issue. As it was, it was very much a good example of comfort food done right. The atmosphere was pretty cushy and it was definitely inviting enough. It didn't have the most space but that kind of worked to its advantage. And I thought the service was great. It really seemed like they cared here. Stopped here on the way back from a drive into the Uintas. Waiter, Boyan, was friendly. This is a cozy little place just outside the craziness of downtown Park City. While I enjoy places like No Name, it was pretty refreshing to be in a more local non tourist establishment. Ordered the trio: caesar salad, tomato soup, and grilled cheese. It was really tasty and prices are better than in downtown PC. Id go back and while I liked the trio I would try something else as they have a pretty extensive menu. read more

Wow! Showed up for dinner on New Year's Eve around 6 (thinking it was a little early), and Sammy's was packed. Joined the queue and got in faster than expected- they had things rolling. Awesome friendly service, drinks and food came out fast considering how busy they were, and WOW on the burger... thick, perfectly cooked, and tons of flavor - best burger I've eaten all year (and probably longer)! The salmon sandwich and the meatballs looked incredible, but nobody wanted to share! We were too full for dessert so that will have to be where we start next time! read more

We went here as a group of 7 on a Saturday for lunch and had no problem getting a table or prompt service! The menu has something for everyone. I got the chicken Parmesan sandwich, which was delicious. Other favorites from the table were the steak sandwich and fish and chips. Recommendation by a local, and this joint didn't disappoint. Mastered with the tomato basil soup, creamy and full of roasty tomato flavor.. had a slight red pepper heat. The guy next to me had Chicken Picatta and we couldn't pass it up. Chicken medallions, mashed potatoes, and asparagus... all covered with a tart lemon gravy and capers. We liked the food so much I forgot to take a pic! Finished up with the salted caramel brownie, and our only complaint fit the whole meal was the lack of "salted caramel". Sammy's Bistro did not disappoint! My girlfriend and I stopped in for a quick dinner, before heading home to Vegas, hoping to beat all of the ravenous ski and snowboard crowd! Unfortunately, we were a little too late, but we put our name in anyway and after about a 20 minute wait, we were seated. What can I say? Everything was great! Originally, I was going to order the club sandwich which was sold out, so instead I opted for the BLT hamburger with Havarti cheese and a salad on the side. My girlfriend ordered the teriyaki salmon sandwich with sweet potato fries (+$2.50). We agreed that the buns were warm and soft and our proteins were perfectly cooked, the salmon and burger were moist and flavorful. The side salad was not your basic iceberg lettuce, it was a nice mixture of greens , carrots, and a delicious citrus vinaigrette. Although, it was crowded, everyone from patrons to staff were super nice. The bathrooms were clean and I liked the black and white photos adorning the walls. Talk about character. This restaurant has the same ambiance as a ski lodge. Super home-y and inviting. I liked that they had football games playing on the bar TVs. I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich with chips and it was insanely good. Everyone in my party agreed that their meal was a feel-good meal. The service was also top notch. This is a smaller place in PC that is easy to get to since it is not on or super near to Main Street so if you're not in the mood to look for or pay for parking this a good stop. It is small so it's a louder place. They also have outdoor seating which is great. The service was friendly and pretty quick. I had some wings and a Caesar salad. Both were tasty and I'd definitely go back to try more of the menu. read more

The wife and need to grab a quick bite before heading to an event and thought - why not eat at Sammy's. This is a true gem of an eatery that is often packed during snow season so we avoid it then. It's off peak so it make it easier to get into. They don't take reservations so timing matter. They have a nice menu with a large variety of offerings that touch on cuisines ranging from middle east to cuban. I had a cup of tomato basil soup and followed it up with the greek chicken gyro sandwich. Roasted chicken breast, served in a pita that also included feta, grilled onions, tomatoes, pepperoncini and mixed with a tzattiki yogurt sauce. Soup was solid and the wrap was tasty. Overly stuffed into the pita which made it more of pita salad than a wrap to pick up and eat. But good flavor all around. My wife went with her favorite - the Mahi-Mahi Tacos. Marinated Mahi-Mahi that was grilled and served in 3 corn tortillas. The tacos were topped with cabbage, a mango salsa, cilantro and a tomatillo aioli. These again are solid - both of us love those as an entree choice. We had sweet potato fries and their regular fries as sides. I think the sweet potato's had more to offer flavor wise but the regular fries are ok. not great. I can can also recommend their chicken bowl, the cuban sandwich, and really almost everything on their menu. read more

On a trip with the wife in Utah, we were in Park City and I searched out some interesting places to eat. Sammy's was listed on the Triple-D restaurants in the area and it had 4 stars on Yelp, so that was all good. As I go through this review keep in mind that I had certainly built this place up in my mind for the week before we went. We had heard that this place is always packed, so we wanted to make sure we got a table so we could have a nice meal for our anniversary. When we arrived it was fairly empty and we were seated quickly. Someone took our drink order. I ordered my signature Ketel One dry (no vermouth) martini with two olives. I laughed when the cocktail came out, since it filled up less than 1/2 of the martini glass it was served in. Did it spill out on the way? Server came by to ask for our order. He suggested we order apps, salad and entrée all together to prevent delays. Well, the wife and I like to slow walk our dining experiences, so we ordered the coconut shrimp and told him while we were eating that and enjoying our (tinee, tiny) cocktails, we would review the menu for what was next. The shrimp came out in a timely manner and before the server put it down he was asking us to order our entrées. I reminded him of our timing plan and he walked off. Normally I might have another cocktail, but I was not going to order a mini martini again. Honestly, I am not a coconut shrimp fan, but was open to trying it as I knew Sammy's was going to blow me away. Nope. The wife, a coconut shrimp fan, gave it a resounding "meh, but the coconut tasted fresh". The server was delighted when he approached the table again and asked us to order and we were ready. (not "if we wanted to order" it was more of a request to place our order. Hmm.). The Pork Piccata for the wife and for me the cioppino (reviewed on Guy Fieri's Triple D, granted many years ago). We decided to share the grilled romaine wedge salad and we each ordered a glass of wine. A server brought out our salad and they had divided into two plates which was great. I was two bites into the salad when our entrées showed up. This is why we like to order each step at a time. Frankly, I wanted to send the food back, but just had them set it down while I finished my entrée. The wife believes that the chicken picatta I make for her is the best, so it would be interesting to see a pork version and how it compares. It was served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. She enjoyed the pork and sauce, "nice and lemony", and also the mashed potatoes. Since she is not an asparagus fan, we should have asked for a sub. Our bad. I do like asparagus, so I tried it and it was good. I was excited to try the cioppino as I like to try it at any restaurant that serves it and I like to make it myself for special occasions. As mentioned, it was on Triple-D, so that was kinda fun. An example of my cioppino obsession is when I was in Portland on business I had to stay 4 nights. Using Yelp, I found the top rated restaurants that served cioppino and had the fennelly, seafoody, warm bowl of Heaven 4 nights in a row. Four different restaurants, all delicious, all different in preparation. Score! Well, the cioppino at Sammy's was just OK. Seafood was mostly cooked nicely however the shrimp were dry and chewy. The broth was not overly flavorful and for some reason the fennel was tasteless. I believe that fennel is a key flavor in a great cioppino and that was missing. A good cioppino presentation comes with crusty, buttery, garlicky bread to sop up all the broth when the seafood is gone. The bread served was soggy, to the point I was wondering if they forgot to cook it. No matter, I was not motivated to sop up the broth. The rice was an interesting touch, as I have had pasta offered to be in my cioppino, but never rice. I always pass on the pasta being added as I like it more like a stew or soup. I wish I had been able to pass on the rice as well. Not a fan. By this time I was bummed out. Overall we were very disappointed with the whole experience. To top if off, the bill was a Park City / inflation bloated fun piece of paper to get at the end boasting of how much we paid for the meal. We paid and walked back to our condo. Go Somewhere Else. Honestly the food was good but the server wasn't. She was impatient- never refilled our waters or came by to check on the us. She also didn't ask about appetizers so we had to awkwardly ask for them and had the order our food at the same time which is a huge no for me. For a restaurant in a very busy area (come winter) I expect more. Fries with cheese and fry sauce was good. Mac and cheese is just velveeta you can get at Walmart. Salads good Grilled cheese is good. The NY strip sandwich says it has multiple cheeses but only has feta and definitely doesn't have the amount of meat it says. My salad was fine but the seasoning on the chicken was really strong (it said cumin, but it had to be a LOT of cumin). My husband ordered a steak and enjoyed his meal.
