Wasn't impressed at all. I'd heard the cauliflower was popular so I tried it. It looks like it used to be served buffalo style but the night I went they were serving it as General Tso's cauliflower. No good. It was drowning in sauce and tasted undercooked. The breading left a floury tasting film on the roof of my mouth. Had the charred broccolini which was also drowning in sauce. Upon the recommendation of my waitress I had a wonderful salad, the only thing I enjoyed about the meal. Portions were plentiful and decor was neat (there is a wall covered in old encyclopedia pictures). I have to believe their are better places to eat in Park City. read more

I love this place. The staff is nice, the chef's are inventive and the food is delicious. We dine here all the time. I especially love going in when the seasons change because that is when they get really creative. Items like pumpkin nachos last year. Being a traveler and someone who had traveled quite a bit throughout the world this is one of the best, if not THE best, meals I have ever had. It was full of many unexpected ingredients and flavors while still feeling familiar and "homey". We are here for another 5 days and already picking what other reservations we are going to cancel so we can try more things from the menu. The cauliflower was phenomenal as many others have said as well. We ski here in Utah most years and this is just one more reason to add to our list of why! read more

Read all the great reviews for this place and decided to dine here during Sundance 2017. Was hoping for the best, but it was an extreme let down in the quality of the food. The unfortunate thing about Sundance in Park City is that the restaurants try to capitalize on the excess consumer business by offering only pre fixe menu's. I was hoping that this would not bring down the quality of the food, but unfortunately it did and it was one of the most mundane meals I have ever had for the price of $65pp. I started out with the Poke Salad, which lacked flavor other than an extremely spicy pepper added to the mix. Second was the Escarole and White Bean salad, which was the most embarrassing looking dish I have ever seen. I wish I took a picture to showcase how pathetic this dish looked and how they had the audacity to even serve it. I was promptly made fun of by my friends at the table and embarrassed to eat it. It was simply a few beans plopped onto a larger plate that lacked any type of flavor or elegance. It was as if they scooped a few beans out a can and put it on a dinner sized plate and served it. Lastly was the Lamb entree, which was 2 pieces of lamb with no seasoning accompanied by lentils and a cream sauce. Overall, it was a terrible dining experience and not at all worth the money or time. The reason for 2 stars is to give Handle the benefit of the doubt and chock this up to a Sundance Festival menu and not being prepared to handle the crowds accordingly with a decent menu and dishes. Initially we were unable to make a reservation to this restaurant during Sundance. But while we were there, I contacted the Chase Sapphire Dining concierge who was able to secure us a reservation (due to cancelation). We arrived at 6:30pm on Saturday night and found the place fairly happening. We were quickly shown to our table. Ambiance: The place was nicely decorated. Lighting was sort of dim. Noise level was average. Were were seated at a table for two. The tables were set pretty close to each other. I think the vibe was nice. We were up against the outside window so we could watch the snow fall. Service: Pretty good. We didn't have to wait long for our server. Water was refilled in a timely fashion. Server gave good recommendations. Food came out fairly quickly. But the whole restaurant was on a prix fixed menu so this could have contributed to it. We never did feel rushed though. Food: Overall, it was good. But nothing really "wowed" me. We started with the buffalo cauliflower and squash tostada. I enjoyed the texture of the cauliflower along with the blue cheese whip/spread. Very nice flavoring. The squash tostada was "ok". Nothing special. The 2nd course we opted for the fried chicken and duck rillete. The chicken was nice and moist. PRetty good flavor. I would order it again. The duck was interesting. IT was almost like a pate. It wasn't a typical "duck" flavor. And just didn't suit me. I wouldn't order it again. For the final course, we had the farro risotto and the buffalo short ribs. My wife really liked the risotto. She has never had anything like it and thought the flavors were good. The buffalo was sous vide and was fairly tender. The flavor was not to over powering. But my favorite part of the dish was the sauces that accompanied the short ribs. Ate here during Sundance and it was ok but pricey for the food and experience. For $65 + tax + tip I had a glass of water, a kale starter salad, a butternut squash side dish which I did not like, and a pasta dish which was excellent. And although they have wifi for customers they refused to give it out because they said it was too busy during Sundance. Pretty sure they jack up their prices and scale back their menu during Sundance so they can surely afford to pay for some internet overage. Also they brought us someone else's meals three times. I thoroughly enjoyed my culinary experience here. The flavors were delightful, and very different from the basic restaurants that surround us. If I'm being honest, and I'm being honest, the portions were a little smaller than I'd like, but that's typical for nicer establishments I suppose. We enjoyed many dishes and my favorite was the curry lentils and the charred broccolini. Further, the roasted miso chess pie was extremely unique and delicious and I was saddened when my wife ate more than her fair share of the kumquat meringue portion of the dish. Lastly, the bathroom was outside the restaurant, which I never like, but it didn't materially dilute my experience. read more

This place is massively overrated and understaffed. I was sitting at the bar when it was less than half full on a Friday night and it took 10 minutes just to get a food order in. I ordered oysters and the buffalo cauliflower with their house Old Fashioned. The oyster plate was so overfilled with ice that it melted and spilled over to the bar and onto my lap. The Old Fashioned... was not an Old Fashioned - who puts All Spice dram into an Old Fashioned? It was like an over-seasoned tiki drink. The buffalo cauliflower was good, but not as good as people on here rave about. My water was never refilled and by the time the bartender asked if I wanted anything else I was done and ready to get out of the place. read more

This is our second time to Handle, and both experiences have been terrific. They take special effort to develop some very creative dishes, pretty much none of which you'll find anywhere else. Pimento spread on a slider? Fried chicken with a silky smooth hot sauce on the side? Dark, rich lentil beans topped with Brussels sprouts and raisins? Who would think these and more can be found at 6,000' in what was a mining town that served grub from tin cups back in the day. Handle has overcome the hurdle of finding quality food in PC. Matt, head chef, does a affable job of orchestrating his crew, even with a newbie on the cold plate side.....( he did a great job as a stand in by the way at least from our " cheap seats" view at kitchen stools ). No panicking. Everyone seems to really know their place in a very small space. No clue how they can hurdle over the growth in this tiny kitchen. Regardless, carrots, the least favorite of my pallet, were consumed with the mashed potatoes. The sweetness was complimented by the hot sauce on the side ( thank you for that ) and topped by a perfectly cooked chicken breast. The mushroom small plate was awesome. Just a hint of heat to the earthy, smokes taste of the dish. Really well done. Ribs were aplenty with well balanced sweet BBQ sauce. Tender with a proper amount of slaw. Smoked trout dish was a cool starter and light enough for two. Smoke flavor was proper in that you could, crazy I know, taste the trout! Not everyone gets it. Ate at handle tonight and it was fantastic. Small plates with plenty of options to choose from. Highlights were the picked veggies with artichoke dip, the crispy cauliflower, and the pork belly. We finished with the rice crispy benigets and the blueberry tart/crisp. This is one of the best dining options in park city. read more

We really enjoyed our dinner last night at Handle. Our server, Ignacio, did a great job of explaining all the dishes and gave us great recommendations. We had 6 small plates. The cauliflower, braised short rib, the baby octopus salad, the scallop, the gulf shrimp, and finally, the foie gras. Everything was tasty but the short ribs and scallop were our favorites, absolutely amazing. The foie gras (recommended by Ignacio) was life changing. Will definitely return to Handle. This place was an experience. Every dish is something you've probably haven't had in your life before. The location is away from Main Street and some of the waiters were kind of rude/non-attentive which makes me give the 4 stars. Otherwise, I recommend giving it a try. read more

The Hearty Fried Chicken was "STUPID GOOD"! That's coming from a Southern gal. Everything was perfect.

We went there because of the deals for locals: $10 burgers and $5 glass of wine. Burger bun was burned on all (3) of our burgers. The rest was good though. Rudest hostess I have ever encountered. 3 of us went to dinner at 5:30 PM. There was one table seated in the dining room. The hostess sat us right outside the kitchen. I asked politely if we could sit somewhere other than next to the noise kitchen. She said "well. The kitchen is attached to the building". What a rude comment. Awesome food and non pretentious hipster bartenders. Spendy, but it's Park City so what were you expecting? Oddly set inside a little indoor mall, with terrible florescent lighting... however, once you step inside, your eyes will forgive you. This place is a typical example of a ski town restaurant trying to imitate "the big city." Ambitious menu that is more enjoyable to read than actually consume. I've never sent two dishes back in one meal, and we wanted to send back four! Brussel sprouts tasted exclusively of red wine vinegar, salt and something like liquid smoke. The sprout leaves were oily and floppy. This dish was the highlight of our meal. My pappardelle was advertised as the waiter's "favorite" dish with rich and complex flavors from creative ingredients paired with pork belly. Visually, the dish looked good. But if I were blindfolded before putting my fork to fare, I wouldn't know what I was eating. It was bland and very oily, and not even a decent olive oil... The whole dish was drenched in what tasted like vegetable oil. Pork belly works best when the textures of the skin, meat and fat on offer are all present. Unfortunately the pork belly was just the fat portion and coupled with huge paperdelle noodles drenched in vegetable oil it was a terrible dish. I didn't eat it. Very disappointing. Catfish, per the menu, was prepared with "a southern twist" - which is a bit like saying "spaghetti, with an italian twist!" They were basically fish nuggets, NOT a fillet, and could barely compete with the frozen store bought variety that you serve children. Just really pathetic. I could go through the other dishes we ordered but they aren't even worth talking about, or eating. We left and had to eat dinner again after! I would be surprised to see this place open in a year, unless we just caught them on the worst of their worst nights. There is a huge disconnect between what this place thinks it is, and what we experienced. Oh, and our waiter who was so verbose and uppity at first turned into a ghost once he could tell we weren't happy. Joseph offered to replace one of our dishes, but we didn't trust their ability to make anything worth eating! Literally nothing we ordered was good, nothing. Will not be back. read more

The cheese and charcuterie board was so good, as well as the catfish, fried chicken and the caramel pudding. The drinks were just ok, hence why I did not leave 5 stars, but overall the best dinner we had. The only downside is that the place can get really loud depending on where you sit. But, not so loud you can't hear the people you're with. It's energetic. read more

DO NOT eat at Handle. I have never felt so disrespected. The hostess was so rude and entitled she put her hand in my friend's face just as we checked in for dinner. We then waited a full hour after our reservation time to be seated. Our waiter was friendly - trying to help our visibly upset group enjoy the rest of our evening - until the end of the meal when he brought us the check and suggested potential tips amounts. Apparently, he wasn't aware we could manage the simple math on our own. After much discussion with the manager, we were told we'd be compensated for our ridiculously poor experience. Well, they didn't "take care" of any of the dishes we ordered, and on top of that we were charged for the (normally complimentary) birthday dessert that was brought out for my friend. All this being said, we left a fair tip. Two days later, I checked my credit card statement only to find that I was charged more than the amount I signed for on the check. Not only was this the WORST dining experience of my life, but Handle literally attempted to take money from me. read more

4 1/2 star food ZERO Star service. Hipster attitude, service and prices... There are many other great options in the area...don't waste your time or money here 4 1/2 star food but not worth it with with ZERO star service. Very rude server and owner. Yes the food is good...and in some cases great...but it is very overpriced, even for a ski town...I am used to overpriced Tapas in LA and The Handle is not worth the price. It took over 15 minutes to get the first beer of our 6 drink order...and all the drinks came out at different times...the longest drink took over almost 25 minutes. The Tapas style food was served without the table having plates and we had to ask for utensil wraps. Our server was rude and very distracted...he didn't seem well trained on the food or drink menu nor did he seem to care about customer service at all. The food took a very long time to come out...while multiple of the same dishes were ordered...they were served about 30 minutes apart...and not that there is a good excuse...but the restaurant was not busy or even near capacity. After the horrible service...we finally got or check...where the server took it upon himself to add a 20% gratuity based on the meal total plus tax....I'm not joking he added gratuity after the tax and on top of that...there was a gratuity tax fee added to the total....ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Surely this had to be a mistake...a 20% tip added to the total after tax plus another charge because of the gratuity. One the server was asked about this...he immediately got attitude and became very rude and confrontational. We asked for the manager...a woman came to us who turned out to be one of the owners...she was immediately combative and extremely rude...this woman owner had ZERO customer service skills and should not be dealing with customers. After some arguing she finally removed all the charges and gave me the bill. She didn't even cash me out...she stormed off and left it up to her bartender and hostess to deal with me....wow! The hostess and bartender were both very nice and cashed me out and were very apologetic and knew what customer service is. I did in fact tip about 18% and that only because of the hostess and bartender as well as the quality of the food....but not the presumptuous 20% as originally charged...which was more like 24% after the way they were trying to charge me. While the flavors were spot on, I'm giving this place 3 stars because my friend and I spent a ton of money on portions that were comically small. We were literally "lol-ing" onto a plato of $12 ribs that included two ribs the size of my index finger. To be fair, the meat on those ribs melted off the bone and were some of the best I've ever tasted. It was a similar story with nearly every dish we had, with the exception of the mussels. Decent portion on the mussels... Handle's also losing stars because our waitress was so pushy with what she thought we should be ordering and how much she thought we should be ordering that she never stopped to consider whether we asked for her opinion in the first place. While I'm sure she believed she was projecting the image of a helpful server, her true motive of getting us to spend an absurd amount of money was only too obvious. Ironically, she achieved her goal, but mostly because my friend and I were starving and continued ordering food based on the demands of our stomachs. One more thing that I want to mention, only because I want to see this place kick ass: the white wine tasted like it had been in a freezer and the red wine was HOT. Also, the only Portuguese Port on the menu was one of the worst ports I've had for awhile. I think a couple sessions with a wine consultant would go a long way here. read more

I call back and they tell me, "hey, we don't do take out orders during our evening meal service" What?!? Your website says you have take out service and you waste my time to tell me that you don't have take out service. Get your act together, its not that hard to answer a phone in a timely fashion and communicate reasonably with your clientele. As a homeowner here in PC for the last 13 years, I will be sure to tell all my friends and family that stay at my place to avoid Handle. read more

Way way way over rated for the price. If you are looking for ridiculously over priced average food, this is the place for you! Looking for $70 lamb shank? Or maybe for three scallops for $58? Look no further! Handle Park city is the perfect place for you. Dont get me wrong, the food is not bad but at that price, you would expect food blowing up your mind.... the restaurant is located inside a small shopping mall off of Main street and does not even have its own bathrooms.... they are far better places to spend that kind of money in Park City. My advice: dint waste it at Handle.... PS: make a reservation at Firewood instead.... far better food for more reasonable prices. read more

How do I give 0 stars?? My family and I came in on a Friday evening. What we were told was that we had 90 minutes to eat. Really? What if I spent $1000 on dinner with drinks? You would kick me out after 90 minutes? I would have preferred the hostess tell us that they were too busy than tell us that. Note to owner: when you have a hostess running the front of the house for you, make sure she represents what you are looking for in a first impression. read more

Not sure if it was a off night but there are better alternatives than the Handle. It might be ok for two people but for large groups, the menu makes no sense. The have small plates that are too small to share. The Baller ribeye was tough and the risotto was tasteless and vegetables were undercooked. read more
