The nice thing is, I had changed my mind a bit since showing the initial proof to Zion Tattoo when I initially booked. Travis was totally fine with it and adjusted to my wants. I also appreciated how he added his input on my ideas to ensure they looked good upon completion. I was there for about 45 minutes, everything was fast and inclusive. It was an amazing experience in a clean and comfortable environment and I appreciated how Travis kept checking in with me to make sure I was doing alright and was just very personable. Two hours before my original appointment, I received a call saying that my artist was sick and would not be able to make it. I completely understand that things happen and that emergencies are sometimes unavoidable, so I was willing to be understanding and rescheduled for the following week. Unfortunately, the rescheduled appointment was an even worse experience. My appointment was at 12:00 PM, and I arrived on time. I ended up waiting over an hour before my artist even showed up. When she finally arrived around 1:15, she told me she had slept in (mind you it was middle of the day) She did not appear prepared or professional, and at that point I was already extremely frustrated. Despite all of that, I still tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and waited another 30 minutes. Even after waiting all that time, none of the sketches for my tattoos had been prepared, and we still were not ready to begin. At that point, I decided I had to leave. I felt completely disrespected and as though my time, money, and excitement about these tattoos meant absolutely nothing. What made it worse was that I barely received an apology for the situation. What I find especially frustrating is that there is a non-refundable $200 booking fee required to make an appointment. If customers are expected to respect the shop's policies and pay a substantial non-refundable fee to reserve their time, then I believe the shop and artists should show that same level of respect for the customer's time. My original appointment was canceled just two hours beforehand, and when I rescheduled, I was left waiting for over two hours with an artist who wasn't prepared to work. I understand that people can get sick and that things can happen, but the way this entire situation was handled was unacceptable. I wasted hours of my time, was left feeling completely disrespected, and walked away without receiving the service I had scheduled or any meaningful accountability for what happened. I would not recommend this place based on my experience. I came in excited to get tattoos I had been looking forward to for years, and instead I left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and taken advantage of.

The apprentice is supervised by a senior piercer, in my case the shop owner, and it was a great experience. We went slow and had an easy paced consultation making sure the placement was just right and would also meet the kind of jewelry I wanted. They were happy to change and mark placement multiple times until I was satisfied and the owner was happy. All in, I paid $90 for both piercings including jewelry plus a tip. They are also make sure to go over aftercare prior to and after getting pierced to make sure you are aware of how involved the healing and care process will be.

I got an email from Zac about 30 minutes later, saying he could see us on Mothers Day at noon and just to send him an idea of what we were looking for. Zac was quick to respond to me and to top it off, he came in on his day off to do this for us! When we got there he had a few stencils drawn up for us to choose from (based on the ideas I had sent him via email), he tweaked one of them a little bit for us, and then we got started. The place is spacious, well lit and super clean, we watched Zac take his time to clean up the area and his equipment in between each one of our tattoos. He was fun and friendly and patient with us due to our indecisiveness (remember... 4 women!!). He tells me about how he and his buddy think that you can get pierced right away with hoops. While this may be true, not at all ever for oral piercings AND the hoop should be a bigger gauge. Either way, i had such irritation and struggle with the pain after days of hoops i had to sit at home missing social events with ice on my face. I was able to get one stud in myself, but had to pay another $50 at a pro shop to get one in the swollen side that was pierced through a vein. You can see the irritation on the hoop side in the picture. I would not trust this shop if they've got a piercing guy that will do that. I believe he's the only piercer at the shop. In the response to all these issues all they said is that they would switch it out. No accountability or saying anything about their choice. Stay away from here for piercings and look up APP piercing shops for your safety.
