I wanted snake bites. A double oral piercing. I was asked if i wanted hoops or studs. Assuming it was for position i said hoops. Guy brings out hoops to pierce with (ABSOLUTELY not ok) i tell him no i don't want to be pierced with hoops, that's really bad. He tells me about how he and his buddy think that you can get pierced right away with hoops. While this may be true, not at all ever for oral piercings AND the hoop should be a bigger gauge. Either way, i had such irritation and struggle with the pain after days of hoops i had to sit at home missing social events with ice on my face. I was able to get one stud in myself, but had to pay another $50 at a pro shop to get one in the swollen side that was pierced through a vein. You can see the irritation on the hoop side in the picture. I would not trust this shop if they've got a piercing guy that will do that. I believe he's the only piercer at the shop. In the response to all these issues all they said is that they would switch it out. No accountability or saying anything about their choice. Stay away from here for piercings and look up APP piercing shops for your safety. read more

Stopped in to repierce my belly button while I was in Minneapolis on a quick trip. It was a last minute decision so I searched Yelp for reviews of local piercers. Yelp did not steer me wrong! I was a walk in to Mutiny Tattoo and Piercing right after they opened on a Wednesday morning. I was immediately greeted by Ben ("Gentle Benny"), the owner, who got me going immediately on my paperwork. The process was quick and efficient, and I was in and out with my repierced belly button in less than half an hour. The shop is located kind of on the edge of a nice suburb in Edina. The inside of the shop was eclectic, fun, and perhaps most importantly, clean. Total cost was $85. Base cost for the piercing and hardware was $75, and I paid another $10 for a slight upgrade to the hardware. Above all, Ben made the experience awesome. He's a really nice, super friendly, professional guy, and I'm grateful that we crossed paths, even if just briefly. Went in and got my nipples pierced for the second time. Read reviews and thought it was a reputable place. I was WRONG. Both my my piercings were placed WAY too far back and were severely crooked. I started getting concerned when I was getting advice from friends. Decided to go into a shop in town and the lady audibly gasped when I showed her. She told me if I had kept them in any longer it would have been really bad (only had them two weeks). She told me I immediately needed them out and whoever did them messed them up horrendously and the jewelry they used was cheap and terrible metal. Considering I payed a decent amount and they are not easy piercings I am quite unhappy. They both were awfully placed and crooked, and my left one was rejecting and migrating out of my nipple. Was also confirmed that it was not because of sensitivity but because of how they were pierced. DO NOT recommend this place! read more

My roommate and I went in there to get our lips pierced. She wanted a vertical labret and I just wanted a labret. The piercer asked if I wanted a hoop or stud, and I said eventually I wanted a hoop. He told me I could get pierced with a hoop if I wanted, but I was concerned about how the hoop would heal if I was pierced with one (I haven't ever heard that you can get pierced with a hoop). He said healing will be fine as long as there's enough room for swelling. I was being stupid and agreed to let him pierce me with a hoop. I was sitting up (also a bad sign) and he didn't ask if I was ready, just told me to take a breath and pierced it. The next day, I was very uncomfortable and in pain from the swelling (the hoop was too tight) so I went to Sacred Siren where my friend works, and it turns out he pierced me with a seam ring that had a ball attached to it, apparently the worst kind of jewelry I could have been pierced with. My friend told me I should immediately take it out for many reasons: my lip was swelling around the hoop, the ball attached to the hoop would eventually embed in my lip, and the piercing itself was crooked! My roommate's vertical labret was also pierced crooked and when she went to Leviticus to get it removed, they said the piercers used balls from two different kinds of jewelry. Blatantly unprofessional and expensive. We basically paid almost $100 to have someone stab a hole in our lips and leave a scar. Weird pervert vibes in there, too-- very manly and tough, doesn't feel safe to voice your concerns or speak up for yourself. I know a couple of other people who got crooked piercings here, too. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

Great experiences here getting pierced and having bought jewelry here. They also will change the jewelry for you, the owner Ben is wonderful. The waiting area is what you expect for a piercing shop. People who get mad about service dogs and pricing, need to get that sometimes things happen with a miscommunication. That should be brought to the piercers attention. You can't bring dogs into places where they have to follow health code rules. Do you seriously need a service dog for a piecing or tattoo? Come on, rely on a trusted friend in that case. You're in a place where you willingly get open wounds with tattoos and piercings. Think about it. I went in for a second time after getting some ink about 2 years ago. I wanted some stickers they have but got the urge. A couple hours later I walked out with a sweet tat. Ashley is great! She was patient and as gentle as a tat can get. I relate it to touching a 9 volt battery to the tip of your tongue, not bad at all. The music was great, a nice selection of oldies, blues, classic rock, even some bb king and pink floyd thrown in, great taste in music! I walked in the door and was greeted immediately, excellent customer service. I went in at the last minute and the piercer was so funny and patient with me. He swapped out my nose stud in a flash, and even though I'm a bit of a pain wimp but he just ignored it and kept going without making fun of me. I walked out happy with a fantastic septum piercing and a good laugh. I saw a post on Facebook for a free piercing by their apprentice. I came in that day an hour later. Upon walking in, my first impression was "wow! They have a super cool lobby and building." Every wall has either tattoos/tattoo work or some sort of theme. The two employees at the front desk were very friendly, informative, and funny. The owner of the shop was also there. He was personable, and had said some pretty funny things, as well. He is very easy to talk to and relate to.- I'm big into snowboarding and he has/had a few snowboards on the wall and we talked about snowboarding during this process. He was overlooking the apprentices work. I also wanted to point out that I have been to several tattoo and piercings shops and when you walk in, a lot of the times you feel really intimidated. This tattoo shop is not like that at all. When getting my nose piercing the apprentice, Cody; I believe his name was, he did great! He was a little Shakey at first but he did an excellent job. He was very sterile, professional, and quick. I'm really happy with my nose piercing. I will be coming back sometime to get a tattoo.it looks like the artists do great work here. I highly recommend these guys for piercings. And they do great tattoo work. Edit: my boyfriend was in the room with me and as we were walking out he offered the apprentice a tip and he politely declined and said it was strictly for learning and he didn't want to accept the tip. - a lot of other apprentice piercers I have been to have taken the tip regardless of if they were supposed to or not, so this also shows that they are honest, loyal, and shows what kind of people and tattoo shop this is. read more

Sadly there is not really a waiting room but the only thing that had me dissatisfied is originally the guy told me that if a piercing ever fell out he would put it back in for free (I was surprised because most places do charge for that). Sure enough my Tragus fell out and I went to get it put back in. The receptionist told me it would be $20 without jewelry and $5 with jewelry, I had my jewelry with me. Then when the guy put the jewelry back in he said it was going to be $10. I came here to have my (healed) high nostril piercing changed to a shorter bar and the piercer was so rough on it that it actually started bleeding again and now my piercing is swelling over the jewelry. Not to mention the jewelry they put in is the incorrect gauge size so I'm now going to have to stretch my high nostril piercing if I want to wear my old jewelry. I hate being that person that leaves negative reviews but I'm honestly beside myself, I've had my high nostrils changed a couple times before and it was never that painful and it never took that much time. Worst place I've ever been too. Came in ready to spend money and support local business was told to get the $#*& out because a member of our group had a service dog. I walked in for a nose piercing on a Sunday and got right in. They do walk ins for piercings on Sundays and there was a longer wait for tattoos but piercings I was able to go right away. I got a nostril piercing on the other side of my nose (already had a hoop in one side) and the piercer did a great job making sure it was symmetrical with my other piercing. Everyone in this shop is very friendly, the piercing process was quick and painless, and I was able to pay with a card which I was thankful for. $75 for piercing and jewelry. This is a great place to go for a first piercing as everyone in the shop is so kind and not intimidating. I went in to get my nose stud replaced with a hoop ring,The piercer was not friendly at all to me. She took me to the room and just went straight for it, she was extremely rough and didn't even stop when I started screaming because it hurt so bad. There was a short few seconds break, I rushed to ask her if the stud was removed and she said Kinda and continued being very aggressive. When She was done, I asked for a mirror and noticed the hoop ring was huge than I had asked for. There was only 2 sizes options And she picked it for me,And before she put it in I suggested I wanted it close to my nose it was the complete opposite. When I voiced my concern she just stood there with her arms crossed and said it she won't put in the smaller options. Too often businesses only receive reviews if things don't go as planned for the customer. However, this wasn't the case for me! I just had the best experience ever. I needed to be seen to have my piercings removed and reinserted for an MRI. I have approximately 20 piercings between both of my ears. From the moment I walked in the door until I sat in the chair, I was treated with respect. Ben, the piercer spent over an hour for each of my visits and never at any time made me feel like I was being an inconvenience. The receptionist was fantastic too! Called ahead to get an estimate "sure come on in", -10 degrees outside, and the lady that comes to the door asks us what we want and to show us a picture while we stand outside with masks on. Singing about sex, genitals, what people should do during sex, and everything as bad as you can imagine. While we were there, a gal came in with a girl who was either 9 or 10 years old. They didn't even stop playing that horrible music. It was quite raunchy. Shame on this place for allowing it to play and shame on the gal who brought a little girl in. That's just horrible. Oh, and they charge waaayyy too much. Very expensive. Not going here again. My tattoo is ok, but not worth what I paid for. Please consider going somewhere else instead of this place. Worst tattoo experience of my life. I've got 7, done by few different artists. Never, have I EVER, experienced scarring or irritation -PERIOD- before the tattoo I got here. Kept it clean, applied minimal amounts of Aquaphor during the healing process, no scratching, no picking - it is not my first time around the block. After the first peel, it instantly became raised, itchy and tough - the entire fucking thing. I now get the joy of using cool compresses, antihistamines, and aloe everyday to reduce the raised appearance and itchiness the scarring is giving me. Not only do I think these people are ill-experienced jokes, they are uncreative to boot. Looking back, I remember looking through the multiple "artist" portfolios I noticed one common trend: nothing original. 90% of all the tattoos in each portfolio look as though they were copied directly off the samples on the wall. And if they weren't exact copies, it was like they made a collage of a few samples to make a "unique" tattoo. I thought originally this must be because they just specialized in old school style stuff that was displayed. Now I am sure it is because they are unexperienced, uncreative, unpassionate, and possibly just in it to be "cool." Nothing but fucking garbage here. Never, ever will I return to this place. read more
