    Good neighbor fence...I think not.
    Susan L.

UPDATE: I asked the company to come look/fix the over priced fence. I was told that Brian would arrive between 10-11am; at 9 am Brian was there and went, uninvited, into my backyard. Brian still stands by his work; thinks it's wonderful and blames the look on "wood shrinkage" and the "step up" they had to do....Maybe it's my ignorance on fencing terms but, I would think if my fence needed a "step up" this would make the fence even or level all the way along the fence line. I'll let the photos speak for this as well as Brian's workmanship. I also gave Rich, the owner, the opportunity to come look at Brian's work and he has yet to contact me. I'll start off with my disclaimer: I was not the actual customer, my neighbor was; I was just paying for my half. My neighbor received a quote - quite a bit lower than the ones I obtained - so we agreed to have Handyman Network replace the fence that separates our properties. However, unlike the competitors quotes Handyman Network only gave a labor quote as the grand total and on the side wrote in a separate cost for supplies - - but, did not include that cost in the TOTAL cost....strike 1 Like most we were under the perception that we were getting a good neighbor fence. When I got home the day of completion I was surprised to find that was not the finished product. My neighbor informed me that they were told that because of the cement the good neighbor fence would not be possible for the first few panels (hhmmm, ok even though the old fence was put up correctly) but, they too were just as surprised as me to see, after returning from an afternoon outing, that for the remaining fence line it was not a good neighbor set up either. I was told, by my neighbor, that after they called and spoke to Handyman Network that $200 would be taken off the bill but, unfortunately, nothing can be done about the fence - really?....strike 2 Now, lets fast forward to my phone call. I called the day after the completion of the fence and was told someone would call me back - four, that's 4, days later I get a call from Brian who completely contradicts everything my neighbors told me. Insists that my neighbors instructed him not to do the good neighbor fence and...was sorry he is the one to have to tell me....but, my neighbors were home the entire time they were putting up the fence. What! Why in the world would my neighbors lie to me? Brian also told me that having the "bad" (my word, not his) side prevented the neighbors from peaking over to my yard...this way I could peak over to their yard....I just said, that's weird and I wouldn't do that. Brian said that in his opinion the fence looks better - - because??? You don't want to come do as the customers asked? ....strike 3 Brian said that he takes pride in his work and has been installing fences for over 30 years. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves and Brian's workmanship.

I have done a lot of work over the years and am happy to say that if you live in this area, he is your guy. He was fair and honest from the get go. The price he gives you is the price you will pay. I never received any surprise "change orders". As contractors go, Omar was VERY open and communicative. No problems ever getting him or his crew on the phone. He had great suggestions on all things we discussed. Always seemed to know a lot about his work and various things people like. The project was a big one, and I am super happy with how fast it went. He even got started for us over Thanksgiving and Xmas, and his crew would show up on Saturday or Sunday sometimes to keep on working (which was fine with us!). There were no subcontractors involved... everything was through Noor Construction. If we had any minor issues that needed correcting, Omar would come and look at it and tell his crew what to do. We really appreciate the details, crown molding and trim was superbly done, and the tile was just amazing, we are very impressed with his team. I mean seriously anyone who has attempted to do crown molding in the past knows what I am talking about. For details if you've made it this far, our story: Where shall I start. I suppose we start with the idea: build a bedroom in the second floor space of our "great room" which has really tall ceilings... like 30 feet plus. So basically add a bedroom in the second story "empty space" above the first floor. Easy right? Well, after getting ghosted by several contractors, I finally called Omar. He informed he thought we were probably getting ghosted because the architect had told him that footings were needed to support this new bedroom which would be sort of like an island in the middle of the house. We live on a hill, so these support columns would have to go through the first floor, basement, and then under the house. This added to the cost, but we really wanted a bedroom in that space. Omar gave me a price. I told him no thanks, my wife and I thought well maybe we changed our mind as the cost came in higher with the footing work. After a few weeks, we talked it over, changed our minds. We really needed the bedroom. I called him, thinking "gosh he probably won't want our work". Omar came back, no change in price, same deal as before, he didn't even bat an eye, he was ready to go, and this was like 4 weeks later after I told him no. So yea, it was project that I was told was too much for people, everyone didn't want to go get permits or deal with the footings... Omar told us what to expect and stuck to the plan. He dealt with the County and the inspector always came and said even himself "these guys know what they are doing". We passed all inspections. Omar even was super flexible about adding things to the project as we went along, as you know I get ideas about what I might want, we added some carpeting and shelving, and additional tile work that he added at no additional cost to him. He really just knows what he is doing and is super on top of things. So go with Noor Construction if you have the chance, you won't regret it!

He was very professional, prompt, friendly, organized, knowledgeable about products, scope of work, and gave us a very impressive timeline. When we received our contract, it was just as he said it would be, and the scope of work included everything we requested. After the contract was signed, the owner of Vostok, Alex, arrived with the demolition crew. The crew was very careful to cover the adjacent bedroom furniture and flooring. The bathroom work area was closed off with plastic, and the crew was very tidy while they worked. The old bathroom was demolished ASAP. Alex is very knowledgeable and skilled.
