I ate a lot of z burger while in college. I'm glad there are more locations. For me the onion rings, cheesesteak, and ordering extra sauce is the move. I actually prefer z burger over 7th street burger that recently opened up. I even recommended z burger to my coworker and he ended up ordering it the same night I did. Food came out pretty quickly which is always a challenge with onions rings because they've always fried them fresh when I'd order them in person. Big fan of z burger, some of the pricing seems expensive now and this time the onion rings were a bit oilier than I remember. I still highly recommend it.

About a 1-1.5: Z-Burger is a local D.C. burger chain with several locations. We had visited the one in Tenleytown years ago, so we were interested in trying out the new one that had just opened off of Pickett. The menu offers hand-crafted burgers, chicken sandwiches, vegetarian options (grilled cheese sandwiches and veggie (black bean) burgers), hot dogs, cheesesteaks, fries, onion rings, and hand-spun shakes & malts. Standard toppings include mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, fried onions, sauteed mushrooms, ketchup, and mustard; in terms of sauces, they have the Z-Sauce, BBQ, hot sauce, A1, honey mustard, mango mayo, and chipotle mayo. They also have the following free toppings available: raw onions, jalapeno peppers, green peppers, relish, banana peppers, crushed red peppers, sweet peppers, sauerkraut, honey mustard, pepper & salt, and Z-Seasoning. Premium toppings include onion rings, applewood bacon, fried egg guacamole, and potato chips. We came here for an early dinner, and we ordered: +a single Hamburger - with mayo, fried onions, raw onions, and jalapeno peppers; this came with a sesame-seeded topped bun; the burger itself was okay; it was juicy and a pretty simple burger +1/2 Fries & 1/2 Onion Rings - these were just not good - both the fries and the onion rings were just undercooked/under fried; the potatoes were raw, and the onions inside the batter were raw; they both looked so promising, as they portions were generous (came in two separate bags), and they were hand-cut and super large in size +a small soda - they have Pepsi products We also noticed that there was a menu that were offering various pizza by the slices; the staff told us that they'll come at a later time - interesting! I'm glad I was able to give this location a try, but I think I'd rather go to other burger places than return here again. There's a handful of seating inside - a couple of booths, a table, and a counter seating. Staff were friendly. Note that there's an automatic charge for bags on your receipt - make sure that if you don't require one, to let the staff know so that they can refund that to you - I just feel that it's super unfair to add on fees like that without letting the patrons know! Plenty of parking in the small plaza lot; just be aware of speeding cars (no Stop signs in the lot) and pedestrians. +undercooked fries/onion rings +automatic bag/packaging charge! +friendly staff +free parking in shared plaza lot

This was my first time at this spot, wanted to try something new. The burger was okay but the portion of the fries were great. I will be back to try it again

Regular Sized Fries - enough for 3-4 people. It is a lot to share!

Reminds me of Five Guys and all their elements. Clean spot but a small space for eating. Food was good and hot and not as disappointing as the other reviewers seemed to think IMO. 75 flavors of shakes is impressive but I did not try. Even though we ate in, they charged a $2 packaging fee. I can see supplies being wasted on a daily. No complaints from me yet.

My husband had Z-Burger at the DC location a while back, and since I have not--with the BOGO offer that I got in the mail, we decided to give the place a try. It's located on the far end of the Pickett Shopping Center, right next to the Peruvian chicken place. Upon entering, I noticed that the place was a bit disorganized with highly, stacked chairs near the entrance and a circular table in the middle of the restaurant. I ended up getting two double cheeseburger (BOGO) and a small fries. You can get standard toppings (e.g. lettuce, tomato, fried onions, pickles, Mayo, etc.) as well as some other options that are all free (e.g. raw onions, green peppers, etc.). They also have premium toppings such as: bacon, fried eggs, etc. which you can get with your sandwich by paying the extra $1.75 (each). Even with the BOGO offer, I ended up paying about $20 for one double cheeseburger and a small fries (without the coupon, it would've been over $30 for two double cheeseburgers with a small fries). Not sure if the taste justifies the price as I think there are plenty of other options available for similar price range (or less) for much better quality food. As a person who had Z-Burger for the first time...the burger itself reminded me of wanna-be Five Guys' burger and the Z-Sauce was wanna-be In & Out sauce. There was nothing original nor special about the food, and definitely don't want to be paying the hefty price for them. Will I return..? I don't think so. Side Note: 1. There are limited seating inside the restaurant, so most likely you'll have to take the food to-go AND pay the packaging fee of $1.79. Apparently this can no longer can be waived as the price is already "embedded" in the system. And yes, I did ask to not charge me the fee and was denied. 2. If you do take the food to-go, they will pack the food nicely in a brown bag with a handle--and give you some of those nice Heinz ketchup packets you'll get at Chick Fil A (they have them stashed inside their counter so that ppl don't take them). If you are eating at the restaurant, you may be stuck with no-brand ketchup as these are readily available with the napkins and plastic utensils at the condiment station. 3. You can ask for all their speciality sauces and the seasoning (for the fries) on the side if you'd like. And can also ask the meat to be cooked "well done." 4. They seem to be now selling pizza and had some combo menus available, which I thought was weird given it's supposed to be a burger place. 5. There are ample amount of parking, but be careful as you enter & exit out of the shopping center as there are a lot of ongoing traffic of cars. Price: $$$

Super limited HH menu but the chicken skewer I ordered did not disappoint. Would order again. Juicy nuggets (clearly NOT air fried), decent tzatziki sauce, FRESH grilled veggies (albeit no seasoning *sigh*). 25+ beers on tap. Personally, I'm not a beer drinker (besides an occasional Stella or Modelo) buttt 25+ seems pretty impressive to me for a bar this size. Flyers promote stand up comedy events and some more! The visit was unique, the story is unique and the food is unique! Let's do this! Established in 1950 or 1954 (reports vary but the sign on the building says 1954), Weenie Beenie was a modest hot dog stand serving hot dogs and beans. It was started by two brothers, Carl and Bill Staton. Bill happened to be an incredible and ultimately famous traveling pool player who went by the name... you guessed it... Weenie Beenie! He won 27k in Arkansas (which is a LOT of money in the 1950's) and used the money to finance the hot dog stand's growth! He appeared on television, played hustlers across the country, and backed other hustlers while living the pool and entrepreneur life. During the 50's, a period of entrenched segregation in Virginia, Weenie Beenie distinguished itself by hiring black employees on the same terms as whites when most white‑owned businesses would not hire blacks at all. This made Weenie Beenie a rare example of early workplace integration in Arlington and a meaningful employer within the historically Black Green Valley community. Its reputation for fairness became a very important part of its legacy, remembered along with the food and its very colorful founder. We popped over and found a 70+ year old walk-up stand with a colorful, diverse and engaging set of customers and friendly service. In faded letters on the front wall to the left are the 10 commandments! No breaking any divine rules at Weenie Beenie's! We all chatted and I learned the one guy comes every day! The old man in the suit was very polite and reserved. The younger Latin and black clientele were fun and engaging and we joked around quite a bit. Another older man was as 38-year veteran of the armed service! Thank you sir! I heard some stories... Of course, we ordered half-smokes! They are well-seasoned half-pork, half beef, smoked sausages that are truly incredible. Weenie Beenie's are unique and delicious! Life is good with a historic, unique, fun and respectful half smoke.

Our assigned server only came to our table twice--once to take our order and once to drop off the check. It was another staff member who actually provided a majority of the service - she brought us warm bread, delivered our food, and refilled our drinks multiple times. When it came time to pay, I paid in cash using a larger bill. The server assumed I was giving a large tip and was about to walk away with no intention of giving me my change. I made no comment of "keep the change" I then had to awkwardly ask for my change back so I could leave a tip separately. He proceeded to ask how much change I wanted, putting me on the spot and feeling pressured to leave a large tip (mind you, I was going to already leave a tip). Because of this, I ended up leaving a much larger tip (over 50%) than I had intended, especially considering the level of service he provided us. I understand that I could have been more firm about asking for all my change back, but guests should never feel pressured or uncomfortable when paying.
