    Lobster mac-n-cheese
    Crystal O.

We were in town for a family gathering and on Thursday night we all landed in the bar area for the guest reception. After some drinking and small nibbles we meandered to the other side of the bar to grab a seat and get some real food in us. Orders were vast across the family and we staggered in at different times, some leaving as other took their seats. I would guess we were not the optimal guests with the open seating and us rotating in and out. We took over 2 huge tables for about 2 hours. I wouldn't be surprised if we managed to order every item on the menu. My group ordered Caesar Salad, Maple Glazed Salmon dinner, Fish and chips, Lobster Mac-n-cheese, BLT & blackened Salmon. The table before us had some burgers, chicken tenders & other dinner platters. My Lobster mac-n-cheese was delicious and packed full of real chunks of lobster- I even crunched on a tiny piece of shell. It is listed under the appetizers and was big enough for me not to finish. Hubby had the fish-n-chips and finished his plate, happy and satisfied. Sis ordered the BLT with sweet potato fries- had a hard time finishing the fries and everyone else was too stuffed to help her out. Salmon seemed to be a huge hit- and they cook it different ways, making several very happy. And the healthy family members stuck to salads. Meanwhile I was tempting everyone with my carb overload! I can't complain about service, since we were scattered about and a continuous flow of patrons. The food was pricier than I would normally do- but the convenience of being right there in the hotel was worth it- especially after enjoying drinks at the bar for a couple of hours! This was another reason I enjoyed this hotel so much.

Located inside the Embassy Suites hotel, this restaurant is a convenience to the guests at the hotel. We came in on a Tuesday around 3ish and the place was completely dead. I did noticed that on the weekends and Fridays it gets very packed. Anyway we came down and ordered the grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries. We also ordered the chipotle ranch wings and the crab cake sandwich with fries to go. Salmon - interestingly this was grilled and placed on a piece of log. The hubby said the fish was just OK, he didn't like the glaze that they had on it. The mango salad that came with it was pretty tasty but not as good as the one at bonefish grill. Mashed potatoes - it looked like it was the instant kind that you make out of the box. Wings - I asked them to make it crispy and they sure did, but the wings was so flavorless. I love my wings crispy and not wet and that's what I got, crunchy. The carrots and celery that came with it was also crunchy, which means it was fresh. Sweet potato fries and seasoned fries - you really can't mess these up. The sweet potato tasted exactly like what it is, no special seasoning. The seasoned fries however were seasoned with old bay seasoning. Crab cake sandwich - ehhh I thought it was going to be great but it was just OK. Salty and breakable, it was not seared so that the outer shape and crust have that nice crispy taste, this was like tuna texture. Buns were oily, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles were OK. Overall I would eat here again if I was lazy to leave the hotel. I would not go out of my way for it, convenience at its best. Tip is to order to go to avoid the 20% service charge and a 2.5 delivery charge.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was good. Convenience of being able to just walk downstairs from Hotel and eat dinner was nice.

From the initial contact with the owner, Bassam Medawar, the setup of the private dining room, the excellent service provided by Chris and the rest of the waitstaff, to the delicious food, it was a resounding success. They were very attentive to our needs making this event a very memorable experience. I highly recommend the Bourbon & Fig for casual dining, as well as any special events like birthdays, rehearsal dinners, and holidays. You will not be disappointed.

They started us off with baskets of biscuits and two different butters- it could really have used a jam, because they were like a fancier KFC biscuit, so they were fluffy and delicious, but void of moisture. There was no offer of a jam, unfortunately. I ordered the croque madame, which is a sandwich with prosciutto, gruyere, bechamel, and fig mostarada on brioche, served with a salad. Due to medication interference i cannot have vitamin K whenever I want, so i got breakfast potatoes with it. The potatoes were out of this world fantastic! The sandwich, I subbed bacon for the prosciutto, and it was delightful! A bit salty, but made upon the ingredients, it was expected. I always thought a croque madame came with an egg on it, but theirs did not. The shrimp and grits were ordered by several people and the consensus was that there were not enough grits in the dish, making it a smaller portion than one would think. There was also some confusion bc one person asked for no tails on their shrimp What he meant was no shell, as some places give you shrimp that still have the tail portion of the shell attached and now you have to dig them out one by one and pull the shell off. They were able to grant his request and he was very happy about that! The French toast was ordered by two people and they enjoyed it, especially the orange Chantilly cream that came on the side. Two other people got the Southern Breakfast and said the spinach was phenomenal! The chicken was a little different than expected but everyone enjoyed their meal! Our server Chris was nice and professional but still personable. All around it was a great experience, although it was a tiny bit quieter than I would have liked, just because it makes a lull in conversation more awkward. Either way, five stars!

Everything came out in big portions, so you can definitely share everything at the table. The nachos were really good. Huge portion and perfect for sharing. I would suggest that you ask for extra sour cream. The buffalo boneless wings were good and I loved that they came with a skewer so you don't get messy. Very date friendly appetizer. The tenders were cool, just nothing special. Fries were good but the honey mustard was watery. The burgers were mid. Just a regular burger with no seasoning. The spinach dip was edible but not seasoned. I've had better spinach dip from the grocery store. The ambiance is the same as your typical bar, loud, fast paced, with many tvs. Overall I regret ordering the burgers and spinach dip but I loved everything else and I'll definitely be back! 8 appetizers and 2 drinks only came up to $80!

The atmosphere: The restaurant is spacious, and I like it when the outdoor area is open since it has a shaded setup and a fire pit. Otherwise, there's still plenty of indoor seating. The food: We started with the Korean Fried Chicken in the soy garlic flavor, which was probably my favorite part of the meal. It came out hot and crispy. We also ordered two rolls, the Double Toro Roll and the Double Salmon Roll. Both were drenched in a Japanese dressing or soy-based sauce, which caused them to fall apart almost immediately after picking them up. The flavor was overly sour and salty, making it hard to taste the freshness of the fish. Overall, the balance of flavors felt completely off. We also tried the Spicy Crunchy Tuna Bites, and to our surprise, the only crunchy element was a small part of the outer rice shell. Everything else was chewy and overloaded with mayo, so it wasn't a favorite for us. The service: The service was a bit touch-and-go throughout the meal.

Dear reader,…read more Firebirds was a thoroughly lovely experience and exactly the sort of place one hopes for when the evening calls for a proper cocktail and a comfortable perch at the bar. We sat there for the evening and had such a fun time, due in no small part to the bartender, who was super nice, genuinely funny, and clearly knew their way around a cocktail. A charming and commendable combination. The atmosphere strikes a very pleasing balance. It feels warm and inviting with a slightly upscale air, but never in a way that feels stuffy or overly serious. Everything felt polished, the service was great, and the whole place had that easy, settled-in quality that makes you want to stay for another round rather than rush off to the next engagement. I also especially liked the Seared Ahi Tuna, which was absolutely worth ordering and deserves its moment of recognition. Overall, Firebirds delivered a very enjoyable evening with good drinks, great service, and an atmosphere that made lingering feel like the correct decision. We will absolutely be back soon, and happily so.
