Used Hanks many times in the past, and always had great service. That being said I just took my truck back in for service and it was horrible. Pretty much a teenage girl in the office that knows nothing. Dropped the truck off when scheduled and heard nothing from them for a week. Finaly called with a diagnoses and a price and I authorized the work. Heard nothing for a week so I called only to hear that they were wrong and the repair was going to be double what was quoted. I hesitantly agreed and it still took another 8 days to get the truck back. Come to find out Hank sold the business so it is not really Hanks anymore! Wish I would have known that before. Ridicules mark up on parts, No communication, And very slow service! They ruined a great shop and should really change the name. read more

I am not from this area and was trying to find a reliable and honest mechanic, which is usually hard to do especially considering I was a mechanic myself and know how most shops operate. I brought in my jeep for some front end work I thought it was just bad ball joints. Considering he already pulled the axles he let me know The u joints were bad (something I suspected) he recommended I changed those also. He did some exhaust work another shop also hacked together and made it right. They also diagnosed a belt squeal I thought was a bad pulley or bearing he just found it was a loose bolt (most shops would've replaced the part and just added it to the bill). He was very honest and let me know a few issues I had but weren't serious or needed to be replaced this instance considering I plan on re-gearing and bulking up the Axles!!!!!!! anyways I will bring my car back to this shop anytime I do not have the time to work on a vehicle myself thanks for the hard and honest work. read more

Spent over $2,500 here, got my car back with more problems I had than when I dropped it off. My "warranty" didn't cover the "new" problem, and I was told "I don't want to deal with this. I'll pull your car up front" when I questioned mechanics work. I've had work done here in the past and was pleased with it. I know hank very well through my family, he is genuine and nice. Very helpful. I brought my ranger to him a few years ago though for brake work. When I got the truck back how ever the brakes for not new. I didn't have the best breaks. I had to replace them about a month later myself. He knows what he's talking about for the most part. I know my way around a vehicle and can tell what's wrong with them. When I brought my focus in not to long ago for a repair, it was either not done correctly, or what was fixed wasn't the main problem. Based on these strong reviews (and a few good words from fellow Yelper and all-around good egg, Kent M) I ventured to have my minor engine problem diagnosed and repaired at this small and local shop. Firstly, I got to talk to Hank himself when I called. I dearly love it when the owner answers his own phone. I got a good impression from what he had to say about my problem. When he called me back personally to tell me what he had found, he gave me options as to how I could have it handled, the advantages and disadvantages of each, and the accompanying differences in cost. Considering that they seem to be a pretty busy operation, I was very pleased to be able to pick up my vehicle that same afternoon. I got the chance to chat briefly with Hank before and after the operation and my impression pf a good, solid, honest, hard-working, and knowledgeable man was reinforced. I am very satisfied with the the work, the pricing, and the friendly, courteous manner in which I was treated. All reviews contradict my experience with Hanks. I wonder, why wouldn't Hank's post their *own good ratings? Their treatment of the issue with my vehicle, *a more realistic conclusion! Tab: $75.00 to be told they did not know what the problem was, however they could repair the problem for $230.00, which lucky for me,.... did include the $75.00! My inclination is go while the getting is good. Tho highly recommended as a Cadillac specialist, they could not read a computer diagnosis?...we are not talking rocket science here, nor about a newer model Cad ...I am not wealthy or well off, I needed that $75.00 for a true repair.
