Salmon benny: love that they add avocado to the benny. It comes with hashbrowns and a salad with housemade dressing. Chicken n waffle: chicken was juicy and the waffle was nice and fluffy. Fries n gravy: crispy fries with a thick gravy. This was a delicious side. Wonton soup: Hanky's is an Asian-owned restaurant so they have some Asian dishes on the menu. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meals. Lack of local beer options. Any craft beer within 100 Kms would have been a nice touch but Mountainview Brewery is in town so at minimum a rotating tap is needed. Service was slow (not busy in there) but friendly. Could use some sprucing up but for a family restaurant we were overall very pleased. read more

Cute casual brunch spot. Came without a reservation on a Sunday at 11am and they had plenty of room, all booths. Had the chicken and waffle. Waffle was crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It went perfectly with the fried chicken. The side salad had a nice refreshing ginger dressing. What a surprise, sweet little cafe with amazing food! The interior is very cool, vintage... pink pleather booths. I would describe this as an elevated dinner, homemade salad dressings and burgers that looked and tasted like perfection. Topped it off with lovely cakes, from their beautiful display case. My oh my! They make the most amazing BLT ever!!! So, my sister and I went on a day trip to Hope B.C a couple of weeks ago. We were both starving so we went looking for food that is not your average fast food chain restaurants that are attached to gas stations. Anyway, we discovered Hanky's family restaurant. Initially, we weren't really impressed because their prices are a bit on the expensive side. But, we decided to give them a try regardless. So, we both ordered their BLT. OMG! It was so freaking delicious , juicy, and most delicately put together. The restaurant was super clean. Their washroom was cleaner than a clean can get. The service was exceptional ...BLT was the . If you are planning a trip to Hope B.C you must give them a try. It is a family run business that has Asian restaurant on one side and more western restaurant next to it (operated by the same Korean family). Hanky's is fabulous! You gotta stop! My wife & I were traveling from Kelowna to Vancouver on Sunday during the Canada Day Holiday weekend. We stopped for lunch & it was a perfect stop & break after lots of traffic. Greeted & seated right away. Has lots of variety on the menu. We enjoyed fish & chips, fries & a delicious salad with a light dressing! Fish was light & crust nicely crisp. My wife enjoyed a delicious BLT. Salad & Fries again were great! FIRST REVIEW First off just know the food is really really good! The only reason it's not 5 stars is simply because the service was very slow. I think they just weren't ready for as many customers as they had at the time as they only had the 1 server and 1 cook. But in spite of the delay the server was doing his best to make the hungry (and grumpy) customers happy. Let me repeat the food is really really good so it was worth the wait! We came here because the place 1/2 mile down the road with 4 stars was incredibly busy and this place had breakfast served late in the afternoon so we took the risk considering there were no reviews. I think it either just opened or it changed ownership. I had the spicy chicken and waffles and it was delicious mostly because of the chicken. The waffle tasted like it might have been a frozen waffle and not freshly made but the chicken was boneless and just enough kick. My wife had the spinach omelette and it wasn't bad. The eggs were little runny. My kids got chocolate chip pancakes (which were plain pancakes with blueberries on the side- so not chocolate chip pancakes at all haha) and bacon and eggs (also runny). But the kids didn't complain so I didn't care. I'm guessing they are working out the kinks so I hope this review helps give them business and gives some pointers to fix to make this place a 5 star hole in the wall of tiny town in the middle of BC. read more

We got the chicken and waffles & spicy chicken burger for takeout. Both were delicious, fries that came with the burger were to die for, probably the best fries we ever tried :D they gave us a side salad with all fresh ingredients and it had a homemade dressing that was very flavourful and light. Service was very friendly and they even gave us a complimentary tiramisu (for being their first customers since their reopening) which looks very delicate and lovely. Restaurant was very clean and they have a cake/dessert display that looked like it was from a magazine. We liked that the menu offered a wide variety of choices without loosing focfrom a full breakfast, to burgers and even pasta. We will definitely come back! :D read more

Ordered a bacon and cheese omelette and toast but had to pay an extra two dollars for the toast because the meal came with a small salad on the plate. When I asked to substitute the salad for the toast was told it would be an extra two dollars. Don't know anybody who has a salad with there eggs for breakfast. My hubby and I drove past Hanky's today and was attracted to its signage. We, therefore, went in to grab a bite before we head out for fishing. The menu doesn't have a lot of varieties but it's adequate. We started out with 2 coffees and I ordered a chicken waffle and my hubby got a burger. The presentation was really nice in the first place and the food was so yummy. The burger was so delicious and the fries on the side were freshly made and very crispy. The chicken waffle that I ordered came with an egg. The chicken pieces were so so delicious!!! They were still very hot and crispy when it got to me. The cakes displayed in the fridge caught my attention and I realized that they have my favorite sweet potato cake! I didn't have room for dessert today but I will definitely go back next time for the dessert. It's not easy to find such a nice restaurant in a small town in Hope. I had a very unpleasant experience here! (Insect involved!) I went for lunch today, the place was dead, only one other table of two in the restaurant. This is my third time giving this business a chance. Both previous meals were underwhelming, but I was at that end of town and thought I'd give it another try. Ordered a Spicy Chicken burger. Burger was alright. I ate about two thirds of it and went to try the fries. I don't really care for the thick cut fries, but that's besides the point. Gave the ketchup a try again (house made) on two fries, still don't like it. Went to put vinegar on them, and as I'm pouring I notice a bug in the vinegar bottle! Eww! Waitress offered a new plate of fries, but suffice it to say I no longer had an appetite. They proceeded to charge me for everything only offering a $1.60 off the bill! It's not as if I expected it to be free! I did eat two thirds of the burger and two whole fries, but seriously $15.12 (after discount)?!? Well I hope they enjoy those purple and blue bills, because I most certainly will never eat there again! read more
