Tom and his crew member Sean moved us this past weekend and we could not have asked for a better experience. I have used movers in the past who either didn't even show up or were very rough with our belongings. Tom was so personable, prior to the move I was able to call him with any questions, and his pricing was very easy to understand and had no surprises. It was very icy this past weekend and the pathway to our new apartment had a giant ice patch, Tom just kept it moving, there was a big step missing to our basement where the washer and dryer went, and Tom still kept it moving. They were so careful and respectful of our belongings while keeping a fast pace of moving everything out. I could not believe how efficient they were, we moved from a 2 story house to a 2nd floor apartment (a.k.a lots of stairs!). As nervous as my boyfriend and I were Tom just kept talking to us while moving and really made the stress go away. I can't say enough to truly explain how great Hanley Movers are and I am hoping he stays in business for our next move when we buy a home because any other company would be a let down since he has set the standard so high. Tom and his men showed up at 7:10 and got right to work. We moved from a three bedroom free standing house to a two bedroom apartment in a local retirement home in Rensselaer NY. I will recommend these gentlemen very highly to everyone. They loaded the truck in half the time it normally takes for us to do so. We only had to instruct them on where to put things when they got to our apartment. The apartment was a maze to get to. It is on the second floor. They had to go through a side door, go down a corridor, and find the elevator, go up with our stuff, and make one or two turns. Did I mention they did this in 90 degree weather? They cracked jokes. They were three of the nicest men. There was no heir of discomfort when we talked to them, which is saying something. Two of us have extreme anxiety disorders and our mother isn't always quick with answers and is slightly mentally disabled. They were respectful, fun, and always smiling. Did I mention they started at 7:10 and finished before the hour 11 am? If we ever move again Tom and his men will be the first people we call. Tom Hanley and his crew did a stellar job with my move on 2/2/18. Tom was EXTREMELY flexible with my ever-changing moving date and accommodated my move with free overnight storage. The difference with this company is that Tom is straightforward with regard to his pricing (which was competitive but a bit less than others), he works rapidly yet carefully, and he treats his workers with respect. His two workers for my move were so amiable and polite, as was Tom! Overall, Hanley Moving Company made a very stressful event (moving from a large family home into a much smaller townhouse) much less so. I considered/interviewed 8 different movers. Tom Hanley and his crew helped my husband and me move from Watervliet, NY to Rexford, NY last week and they were fantastic. They arrived right on time and worked so efficiently! I couldn't believe how fast they loaded the truck and yet took such care with each piece of furniture/box. All three guys were very pleasant and we really enjoyed their company as they worked. We ended up having a ton more boxes than originally anticipated but they stayed until the end. They even wrapped all our hanging clothes in special blankets and brought them directly to our new closets! Plus they were the most economical option amongst local movers that I had researched. He guided his team with great care and directive so that all furniture was cared for as well as the home they were moving it into.
