There is not enough good things I can say about Kim. She truly is amazing in what she does. I recently returned to get my dogs suit altered for my wedding. I needed it to be enlarged due to his recent growth. In my head, I thought she would let it out and add a stretchy band of some sort. After looking at it, she said she recommended using a piece of white basketball shorts material. I was a bit iffy about it since the material did not resemble the original fabric at all. I took a big gulp and hoped everything would go alright. Today, I returned for the pick up and found the suit was enlarged perfectly. Not just that but she was even mindful enough to add a hole for his leash. Who does this?! Kim does! Doesn't matter if you're a human being or a dog, she makes sure everyone is treated the same. I recently brought 3 pairs of jeans to get hemmed here based on the recommendations of the other three yelp reviews for Hannah Fashion. For the most part, I agree with the other yelpers-- the lady did an excellent job with hemming my jeans and the prices are really cheap. She only charged me $12 per pair for original hemming. However, I had to deduct a star because one of my pairs of jeans ended up coming out 1.5 inches longer than the length we had agreed on--boo. Like SilverMoth K., I had a hard time finding the place because it is in an easy to miss location so I took a picture of shop's front. Hopefully it will help future Hannah Fashion customers find the store. And if you can't find parking in front of the store, there is additional parking behind the store. read more

She's really great and her prices aren't too bad. Her work is EXCEPTIONAL. If you go to her store you see that people leave her with their Wedding dresses and prom dresses along with their classic Chanel suits and St. John's cardigans. I mean if people are willing to trust her with their wedding dress, I'm willing to trust her with my jeans. English if obviously not her first language, but she understands everything you may have to say about your clothes. I'm only writing this review out of respect for the lady who did an amazing job at tailoring two pairs of pants that I brought in a few days ago. At first, I was debating on whether or not to give away some of the jeans I hadn't been using, until the idea of getting them tailored came to mind. Do note that some of these jeans tend to be longer and the feet opening area tends to get dragged down, therefore getting destroyed easily. So I figured, why not? So I brought these two pairs of jeans to Hannah Fashion along with a new pair that I wanted to show as a sample of how I wanted them done. Which was to give it a little of that skinny jeans look towards the bottom area so it doesn't get dragged to the ground when I am walking. The lady, assuming her name is Hannah, understood clearly how I wanted them done and gave me the option with paying now or later when I pick them up. I opted to paying now ($25 for two pairs) and came back two days later with the receipt she had given me. I tried them on as soon as I got home and *drum rolls* they fit perfectly! The feet opening sticks to my ankle area and definitely won't be dragged down on the ground as much anymore when I wear shoes. To sum it up, I am giving Hannah Fashion 5 star. I am very happy with the results and will be bringing in a few more pairs next time. read more

Hannah Fashion is A-OK if you need some uncomplicated, quick, inexpensive alterations done in Cerritos, CA. I definitely suggest calling before you decide to stop by. Hannah tailored my 2nd- hand wedding dress for a great price in 1 week. She took it in from a 10 to a 4 and hemmed it pretty perfectly. Downsides: 1) She speaks minimal minimal English - so it was hard to ask for a something specific. I wanted it taken in AND to have a bra installed. She never understood the bra part. My bridesmaids and I did it ourselves the morning of my wedding. 2) She isn't in the store for regular hours. I waited outside in the heat one Thursday hoping to pick up my dress. I had to come back a different day. Upsides: 1) Great price for the alterations she did do. 2) She had my dress dry cleaned before I picked it up. It was something I was going to have to go get done, so she saved me the time. 3) Hannah did seem super sweet and eager to please. read more

I am looking to get some pillow-like cases made for my work. I first called to make sure "Kim" if that's even her name was there. I could tell from the start that language would be an issue, so I actually brought the item there with my own measuring tape along with pictures of what I wanted done. Like most yelpers said, it's not that easy to find although the shop faces the street. there is no signage and you just have to guess. I used my GPS and that's where I happened to end up I proceeded to walk in with my fabric, measurements, and my photos. There were 2 ladies there, one seemingly acting as a translator and I guess "Kim" who was sitting behind the sewing machine never even got up to greet me. She had the other lady look at what I wanted, translated to her then she decided to get up and come take a look. They said that they were really busy and wouldn't be able to get to it for 2 weeks. I said ok, I can wait, please give me an estimate. They threw out some god awful number $80 to make a pillow like case out of moving blankets that I had brought. YES, I brought my own fabric. For $80 I can buy a pre fab one. There would be no need to have it custom sewn. I asked why so much? They couldn't explain. Only words that came out of mouth was busy. But what really made me want to give the 1 star was not the high price or the lack of willingness, but towards the end of my conversation, a mother had walked in with her child. She had a recital to go to and she needed her entire dress to be hemmed. Kim took one look at it and said yes she could do it. When do you need? she asked. The mother replied her show is in one hour. Then she immediately rushed the girl in, had her try on the dress so she could immediately get working on it. I'm like OMG 'osh if so busy why make me wait a week and take her right away. I found it odd and rude. I just no longer wanted to deal with it. So this is my conclusion, if you have something simple and comfortable that she's use to doing, she will do it right away. If it's something she doesn't feel like doing or if you don't speak her native tongue then you get the up charge and 2 week wait. It's bologna if you ask me. I have nothing against small business, in fact it's what I love to support most and immigrants too, but this whole experience just left a sour taste in my mouth. 1 Star really to balance out all the 5 stars. It's really a 3 as you can read she has clearly helped some people including the people that walked in after me, but 1 star for dismissing me and my case that I need for work. read more

You Yelp-ers are too generous . I didn't have such a great experience. Yes the alterations are cheap. I took my bridesmaid dress for alterations. I tried on the dress for measurements, we were on the same page, good. As i handed her my dress, i noticed there were smudges where she was pinching the dress to measure. Not good. I should have walked out right there. Her hands were dirty. She assured me she'd clean it. (My daughter later told me she was eating when we walked in). So I took it in on a Monday, and it was promised by Thursday. Went in Thursday, and there was a sign on the door that the shop would be closed until Monday or Tuesday! WTF?! It was ok with me, but I was wondering if there was anyone out there who needed to pick up their items for that weekend! I picked up my dress the following Wednesday, it was ready. It fit fine, but the stitching inside was pretty crappy. I probably could've done it myself. I should have. Oh by the way, I called her over to help me zip up my dress, and guess what? She was working on another dress & eating at the same time!!! I said nevermind! Paid the lady and ran the hell out of there. Got home, she never cleaned the stains she put in which smelled of soy sauce. It looked dirtier than before. And a lot more wrinkled. When I take something in for alterations, I expect it to be pressed. She had also removed a bow on the strap (yes bow! Remember it's a bridesmaid dress-yuck) to alter the strap, but she put the bow in backwards!!! I will never go back to her again! I had to take it to the cleaners to remove the stains, which didn't come out entirely! Never again! You get what you pay for! read more

Love this place... Found it on Yelp.. It's truly a hidden gem. Lol Hannah doesn't speak much English. Ok, that's an overstatement. Just don't expect much besides using sign language if you don't speak Korean. I don't speak Korean, so it's always just pointing and nodding when I get my clothes altered here. She really does do a good job, and will fix it again without adding money if it's not to your liking. I think the price is very reasonable for the quality, honestly I would pay more, but I'm not going to tell her that. HA! She gets really busy, and sometimes she's not there when you just show up. Don't be fooled by the small footprint and the overall old school, messy look of this place...in other words, don't judge a book by it's cover. This lady has over 20 years experience and she is contracted by some of the local Dry Cleaners in the area for all types of alterations and she can do almost anything with skill. I have taken my suit which she had done in 2 days with a perfect fit. Pant alterations also come out great every time. She is busy at times so get in there early to give her enough time to do work. I was desperate to get my barong altered because it was too big on me, and the other tailor I went to said he couldn't do it. Lo and behold I come to yelp for information and based on the recommendations I go to this hoping that they could help! As soon as I step in, I'm greeted by a friendly Korean lady who doesn't speak much English but seemed very confident that she could resolve my situation. She had me try on my barong, put a couple pins to mark what needed to be fixed, and told me it would be ready in a couple days. I admit I was a bit doubtful that she'd do a good job because barongs are made of delicate material, but she did a wonderful job with it!!! My barong fits perfectly and now I'm all set for my cousin's wedding! I hate to give Hannah a low review, especially because the first dress I brought to her got altered correctly (I wanted to take a few inches off the bottom hem), but when I came to her for a bridesmaid's dress alteration, she really let me down. First, she didn't have the garment ready in time. She said she had misread the pickup date and hadn't started on the dress yet. I was a bit annoyed I had driven the 25minutes during my lunch break to pick it up (I really wanted it for a weekend trip where I'd be meeting the other bridesmaids so they could see how they should alter their dresses), but c'est la vie. When I went to pick up the dress a few days later, I thought I'd ask about a discount for not having had the dress ready on time. Nope, no luck. Oh well, I tried. Nothing lost. If this was where the story ended, I probably would have still given her three to four stars. However, one of the straps Hannah sewed into the dress started coming out during the wedding! Thank goodness I was able to get my hands on a sewing kit! Even so, when I picked up the dress from the cleaners, the strap was completely undone. Based on the material, Hannah should have reinforced the edge before sewing it into the neckline, but I'm guessing she didn't because the edge was completely frayed. Will I go to her again? Eh... I called to see what time she closed and she offered to stay a little over 5 so that I could get altered ;) When I arrived, she opened the store just for me and I quickly changed into my dress. She was very fast as she pinned my dress in the loose areas and brought up the hem of my dress! It seemed like I was just there for 5 minutes! I brought in my bridesmaid dress on Tuesday and I was able to pick it up that Friday! Amazing! What would have cost me 85+tax at David's Bridal, cost me a flat rate of $40 here! While other alteration places quoted me $25-45 to take in a dress which I find completely ridiculous, I was able to have the same dress, a skirt AND a blouse altered for $32.
