She started with a consultation that was very helpful in giving me an idea of what needed to be done, what would not work, and what wasn't needed. I felt like I scrolled through so many alteration places with high ratings and many reviews. Rose Alterations had fewer reviews but all were consistent so I took a risk with my wedding dress with her. Communication was direct, clear and very prompt. She was very flexible when I forgot to bring my shoes (oops) with me by saying she could start working on the other parts of my dress until I could bring my shoes in to shorten the dress. I took in the straps, the skirt to hug my legs, hemmed the bottom keeping the back longer to create a "train", added three clear button bustles. In the photos, the Bottom hem I forgot to press but it could've been ironed out fine. (I should have asked her to do it for me knowing that I would forget.) She's very skilled, knows fabric and has worked on many types of wedding gowns. She gave advice to leave my dress a little looser so I could sit down and I insisted to keep it tight and she did. It was a little tough to sit in (when I picked it up) just like she said it would be but I ended up losing a bit of weight right before the wedding and it turned out perfectly tight if not even a little loose. I kept losing a little weight every time I saw her so that's not on her. Be very clear with what you envision and want and she will make it happen. My dress turned out so beautiful with the fit and her stitching was clean and strong. She got everything correct in one sweep. I'm really glad I took the risk to go with her private business as she took the time and attention to make all the adjustments needed promptly and cleanly. Her prices also very reasonable. Good experience with booking a consultation that led booking hemming service for my wedding dress. I appreciate her honesty and professional opinion on what she was able to do and NOT able to do (she said my dress was not able to have a side slit because of the style/ draping). I had full trust in her hemming the dress - she worked quick and had reasonable pricing. The only reason it is not a 5 star review is because i wish she offered more options/ ideas to help alter my dress more. I let her know I might keep looking around to see other seamstresses could offer more options and she made it clear that she would not be able to fix anything / make changes if another seamstress does anything to the dress.
