My favorite BBQ in Baton Rouge! We usually pick up some pulled pork or brisket from here if we are bringing food for a potluck. Their brisket grilled cheese and brisket quesadillas are what I rotate between when I go. Seating is limited, and they also have a window you can walk up to and pick up to go orders.

    Two Double Meat Combo

My boyfriend convinced me to try this place again, and I'm glad he did! We ordered to go. I got a double meat combo with sweet potato casserole and mac and cheese. He got the same sides, but with ribs and chicken. Unfortunately, they gave him the wrong order. We received a double meat combo with sausage and beans instead and no ribs. Luckily we called and were able to go back to get what was missing just before close. On the bright side, I was able to try the sausage and beans and they were both good. The sweet potato casserole is to die for! I really enjoyed the flavor and texture of the brisket. The boudin balls were underwhelming. Overall, I enjoyed this meal!

The "meat" on the left is 100% grade A FAT. The meat is that Lil portion on the right. I got jacked by Hannah.

Just came back from picking up call in order. Asked for lean. They must not understand well. Half the order is fat. If you order to-go please check your order before leaving the store. Dont get ripped off l8ke I did.

    "Pulled pork" sandwich (kids)

We drive 25 minutes to pick up because we did like this place so much. Tonight my husband gets home with the half order of cheese fries, and I'm questioning if people know that cheese is one of the main ingredients in this. I was lucky to see 3 shreds of cheese on this and BARELY any bbq sauce. So basically I paid $10 for French Fries. Even after adding the small amount of shredded cheese in my fridge that I had, these still were not what I consider CHEESE fries. (Compare my picture to the few others that have been posted in the past) Let's talk about my pulled pork sandwich...since when can pulled pork be picked up with hands like it's a hamburger? That's right - I picked up the entire pork "patty". I'm going to assume the pork was old and they stuck it on the grill. I just don't understand what it's going on with the pork. The bun was also stale (beyond being toasted). The reasons why restaurants are closing at an epic rate is because of exactly this. I MIGHT give this restaurant one more chance but the food from the last few visits have been less than appetizing. On top of that, they are passing the credit card service charge on to patrons with the increased prices and now way less than edible food.

Best food in the world I love this place I really recommend coming here with the family

Daaaangggg! This place is legit. The pulled pork is superb, but the corn bread pudding ( I had never even heard of this) put it over the top. Everyone who works there seemed efficient and kind. I was impressed!

    Smoked wings

Hannah Q has the best wings in Baton Rouge. Before you excoriate me or that statement above, let me explain. I love smoked wings. Besides brisket and jalapeno cheese sausage, they are my favorite smoked food. Hannah Q does a wonderful job with theirs and I would rank them only slightly behind Blue Oak in Nola. Hanah Q is located on the now reduced-capacity Government Street. It used to be my go-to shortcut but the traffic is awful thanks to the geniuses who came up with the road diet. But I digress. The point of this rant is to suggest you get here early. Waiting till 12 or later may mean a traffic jam. Ordering is done here at the counter and delivered to your table. The wings come whole so plan on some disassembly at your table. If you are at work, like I always am when I come here, you will need to wash your hands extra well. You will also need to eat with co-workers who won't say anything as you get your hands dirty eating wings. The wings are smokey, juicy, and packed with bbq flavor. I do not think they fry after smoking but if they do, it doesn't ruin the wing. I do not like overcooked or super crispy wings. I like smoked wings and Hannah Q delivers. These are legit good. If you like blue cheese with your wings, their version is different than the typical one and is also great. I don't know what makes it different but you will know what I mean when you order it. The brisket is among the best I have had in Baton Rouge. BR does not have a lot of good BBQ so it is nice to get real brisket here. My one complaint with Hannah Q is the sauce. It is way too sweet. I believe they make a mustard or vinegar-based one but it is not on the tables. Ask for it when you get there. If you are in BR and want BBQ, check out Hannah Q.

Service is great, prices are very reasonable for BBQ, and the food is always delicious. And their Asian BBQ sauce is incredible. It's a walk up and order, seat yourself at picnic table style restaurant. Great spot for lunch any day of the week but not necessarily a nighttime vibe if you ask me. Either way, the food here is very tasty, and I plan to be back very soon.

Honestly, every single thing we tried hit. The ribs were dialed in just right. Not falling apart, but that perfect bite where they pull clean off the bone. You can tell they know exactly what they're doing on the pit. Pulled pork was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. But the real standout for me was the burnt pork ends. Absolute game changer. Crispy, caramelized, smoky... slamalamadingdong. I could've eaten a whole tray of those. Brisket was legit. Moist, rich, and packed with that deep smoke flavor you're always hoping for. No dryness at all, and the fat was rendered perfectly. Loved that. Sausage was good, just not my personal favorite. I'm a Louisiana sausage guy so I'm a tough critic there, but it definitely wasn't bad. Sides and extras were on point too. Pickles, onions, mac and cheese, sauce... everything complemented the meat without getting in the way. But those mustard greens? I'd go back just for a tub of that. So good. Slamming. Something about grabbing great BBQ in the rain just made the whole experience even better. If you're anywhere near this place, don't overthink it. Order more than you think you need. You'll be glad you did. We'll definitely be back.

They have been featured on Food Network's "Diners, Drive In's, and Dives" and have the pictures with Guy Fieri prominently displayed to prove it. The interior is eclectic, which is comforting. While BBQ is the main emphasis here, there are a number of other things on the menu. One of these that's really popular is the seafood stuffed potatoes. These are gigantic baked potatoes that come with shrimp or catfish, with our without crawfish étouffée. Seafood is a definite option here, and one can have it on Friday or any other day. But let's discuss the BBQ. They have smoked turkey that's never dry, and this is great in a sandwich or plate. The smoked wings are another favorite of mine. Then there is the smoked meatloaf, which is great in po-boy form. The ribs and brisket are also very worthy options. I think a two meat plate is a good way to enjoy the BBQ as it allows variety in tasting! Then one has to be pleased by the wide selection of sides. Variety is always great, especially when it includes uncommonly great options like fried green beans, red beans and rice, and Cajun Dirty Rice. One can always get coleslaw and beans if you are a fan of the classics. They even have desserts, if one has any room left for them. I rarely do...

The redfish was flaky, fresh, and beautifully seasoned with a proper blackened crust. It was absolutely drenched in a rich lemon butter sauce that tied everything together perfectly. The corn maque choux was creamy, flavorful, and comforting without overpowering the fish. Even the salad tasted fresh and balanced the richness of the entrée well. The restaurant was PACKED when I arrived around noon on a Tuesday, which I later learned was likely because they were serving birria tacos that day. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of crowded restaurants, but honestly, the amount of traffic speaks for itself. People clearly come here because the food is worth it. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, and the restaurant itself was clean... floors, tables, everything looked well maintained despite how busy it was. Service was excellent. My server was attentive without hovering, efficient without making me feel rushed, and my food came out surprisingly fast considering how busy the restaurant was. Drinks were handled well too ...bottled sodas available, and free refills on tea and lemonade. Next time, I'd probably come a little earlier in the day to avoid the lunch rush, but I would absolutely order this meal again.
