I tried the City Pork Chop last year and it was pretty good, not one I would put in my top 5 but definitely worthy of ordering at least once. My Wife and I went last week. The one thing you can always count on with City Pork is consistency! And in addition to that it is always delicious. We had some running around to do and decided to stop there for a quick lunch. Splitting a burger was the plan but who can pass up their Crawfish and Brie Queso?!? Emma F was fabulous as our wait person and never let our tea glasses get more than half empty. Also, when we told her we were splitting the burger she made sure it was done for us and served on two plates. Excellent service from an obvious professional. We love both City Pork locations however, there is something about the ambiance of the Jefferson location. The food here is actually very good and the server was very nice and knowledgeable. This is an interesting for me to try specifically since I don't eat pork at all, but surprisingly there were a lot of options for me to choose from! The bbq salmon is good if you like more of a sweet salmon taste. I subbed the corn for mashed potatoes. The crawfish dip was mostly good it just didn't have a lot of crawfish in it. I also tried the brisket burger and it was externally yummy! Overall it's pretty good. This was our first time to City Pork. Found it on Yelp ;) The food was phenomenal. I had the BBQ Salmon, my husband and daughter had the pulled pork sandwich with fries, and my other daughter had mac n cheese. I, of course tasted all of it and it was delish!! The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the server was not attentive and they were not busy - there were one other table. The food and service here was fantastic. We really enjoyed ourselves. David was our bartender. He was very attentive and made fantastic drinks! He didn't skimp on any ingredients. The charcuterie boards are great!! I will say though, we were asked to purchase a beer for the kitchen staff ($8 for a 6 pack) which we did. Working in service myself, I think that is crazy to ask the customer to pay for that. If I was the owner, my kitchen would be taken care of by ME and I would be letting them have a cold beer after their shift...just some friendly constructive criticism from an expert in the service industry world (been in it for 25+ years). So, this review is mixed. The salmon saltine is usually my go to. I even order it to go sometimes. Tonight it didn't miss. My only complaint is the amount of avocado given, it was such a small piece and mostly brown. My friend ordered the crawfish and Brie dip. It left much to be desired. The dip was watery and lacked seasoning. The chips also tasted stale. For my entree, I ordered the schnitzel sub fries bc, why not. The schnitzel had a good flavor. The gravy was non existent. The pork was delicious , but there was so little ham you could barely see it or taste it, also if there was any cheese on it, I couldn't see or taste it either. It wasn't a bad sandwich, just wasn't a balanced cuban sandwich, should have just been called a roast pork sandwich. I told her about our reservation, but not sure whether it was noted. Although the restaurant was not crowded, we had to flag our server down for coffee refills and to get the check. I ordered the cochon benedict with pulled pork on Texas toast, but got the original eggs benedict with ham on English muffin. I ate it without making a fuss, and the benedict was good. Big time drop off from the last time I ate here back in 2019. On my way back home from working in Mississippi I decided to stop in to grab a late lunch. Ended up ordering the fried redfish sandwich. This thing was horrible that's the only way I can describe it. The fish had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I guess the best way to describe the fish was tasteless, lack of flavor, just bland and very dry. The remoulade sauce which one would think would add some flavor to this very bland fish. The remoulade sauce that is no flavor to the fish sandwich at all. Maybe because it was only a thin layer of it on the bread. The arugula on the sandwich was just chewy chewy chewy. Now let's talk about the pricing. The menu said $16.50 for the sandwich but after leaving I decide to look at my receipt and lo and behold I was charged $19 for this sandwich. One of my favorite places to eat! Quality of the food really depends on the day you go. I've eaten here a bunch of times, and it's usually a 50/50 chance of really loving my meal or being just a little disappointed it didn't taste as good as the last time. Service is usually really good, I've never had a bad interaction with any of the employees. I typically prefer eating outside rather than inside; inside can be a little dark and loud (depending on how many other people are in there). My favorite brunch order is the CP breakfast, and my go-to for lunch or dinner would be the big pig, my boyfriend loves the Cubano.
