Update on Hannara Resturant today I took my sister and brother in law all the way down to the Westside . Located actually in Waianae just before you hit Tamura's super market on the right side . Service always friendly last couple times I've been there the waitress always ask where you guys from . So you know they always have the regular customers because they don't recognize us lol . I normally I order their Hamburger steak homemade patty with onion and brown gravy and of course Mac salad . Today I decided to go with their chop steak with noodles . It was ok but on the sweet side I like my chop steak just black pepper and little shoyu . My brother in law had their Hawaiian plate that's Kanak attack need a nap after that . It comes with lau lau , beef stew, Kalua pig, Lomi salmon and pipikalua rice or poi. Additional cost you can have tripe stew instead of beef stew . My sister had their mini hamburger steak . If you're looking for a good tasting hamburger steak head out to the west side. Support local

Brother-in-law Craig T drove my wife and I to Hannara. This is my second time here. I liked their Hawaiian plate ,but this time I decided to substitute the beef stew with Tripe stew. The substitution is $2.00 more. The tripe substitute was ok . Overall I liked what I had. The service is still friendly ans efficient. Enjoy

So this is my third time here & figured it's time to leave a review. Totally local style with food and service! Can't go wrong -I have to say the banana pancakes & the simple hamburger deluxe was soooo Ono- caught off guard! Prepared just right yet juicy! Next time I come I'll have to try the hamburger steak special. Had to bring hubby and he's logged it as a must try!

My brother decided to go to this place for breakfast or early lunch we choose when we get there. I ordered their hamburger steak with gravy and it was good. Ordered the mini plate hamburger is homemade gravy was good not salty. My husband ordered hawn plate. Only thing he said the tripe stew was thick lots of tripe pieces and poi is still watery. Everything else was good. My brother ordered chop steak with noodles. He said it was a little sweet but other than that was filling. If you like the drive out to Waianae then try them.

I've been coming here since I've been home helping my parents and this place is one I keep coming back to! Talk about old school vibes, friendly staff, reasonable prices but the food? It really speaks for itself! I usually get the chicken katsu or cutlet the serve plate lunches old school style with the Kim chee and seaweed and sesame cabbage on a separate plate. When your plate of food comes I hope ur hungry cause it's massive! And delishes!!

This place mindset of an old school diner. Plenty of parking, staff is fiendly, food was tasty. It's tucked away in a corner, but can be easily spotted from the main road. Give them a try when you're in Waianae. Aloooooooha and happy eating.

Clean restaurant. Friendly staff. Old school staple restaurant of the west side. Big portions and fair prices. Tasty food. I got the spicy pork (bc it wasnt included in the mixed plate) and hubs got the mixed plate. I wasnt really hungry bc we just ate at a juice place but had been wanting to eat here too. So we took a bunch of it home for a midnight snack. I know family members love to eat here and I can see why. We will be back and hopefully get to eat breakfast bc I hear its really good.

Stopped here for breakfast based on ratings. We were not disappointed, I normally don't do 5 stars unless it's really impressive. This local spot is great! We walked in and there was locals in there. We got loco moco, breakfast plater and other meals. Food was really good and super friendly service. Definitely worth eating here.

Hannara has been a staple of the Waianae Coast. When I'm in the area I'll stop by. My friend from East Oahu loves their beef stew.

Food was delicious. Service was great. It's self seating, then they bring you your menu, water, take food order, bring utensils.. etc Inside is very spacious, lots of seats available, tons of older decorations (place has been open for decades) Very big food portions, let the pictures speak for itself. We ordered the Hawaiian Plate, Hannara Korean Special, Bi Bim Kook Soo & Chap Chae.

We dined there for lunch on a Monday, so naturally, they weren't too busy. We were seated right away and our drink orders were once we were seated. I decided on one of the specials of the month, White Wash. It was a refreshing mix of watermelon juice, cucumber, mint, and vodka. The bartender didn't skimp on the vodka! You can get a free kid's meal with every entree. The nachos count as entrees, and I was definitely feeling the nachos so we ordered the Lobster Nachos and the Mauka to Makai Nachos. With the Mauka to Makai Nachos, you get a very generous serving of poke nachos and kalua pig nachos. Neither plates disappointed. There were cheesy chunks of lobster on my nachos with diced jalapenos scattered on top. The poke was so fresh, and what made the nachos even better were the fresh house made tortilla chips. My kids had the mac and cheese, and cheeseburger meals. The mac and cheese was creamy and velvety. The cheeseburgers had that nice char-broiled taste. Kids eat well at Tavern! The customer service was excellent and with a view overlooking the ocean, I am looking forward to dining at Lanterns again.

Unfortunately, they don't have an elevator, which was a little difficult for my grandmother who was with us. However, we were still able to make it up the stairs slowly but surely. It wasn't busy at all but there was only one waiter/bartender. He was very kind and efficient, but I could tell it was a lot for one person to wait on the whole restaurant! It meant ordering was a little slow, but understandably. The food itself was delicious! The burgers were amazing, honestly would be on a list of top five burgers on the island. The mauka to makai (half kalua pig, half poke) nachos were amazing. The won ton chips were to die for. We also grabbed a mini purse drink - which is definitely enough for two to share! Such a fun concept and actually how I heard of the place. Besides the slightly slow service, no elevator (which sometimes, cannot help), and the AI generated menus, this place is amazing! Plus, a nice view while you eat.

The overall experience at Kaʻahaʻaina Café was truly something I valued the most. The vibe was relaxed and inviting, allowing for a seamless transition into enjoying the meal. They were all taken by what looks like an after party crowd. Maybe they just came from dancing or just drinking in a bar. They were loud and a bit intoxicated. Ok back to what you're really here for. The food. I ordered the furikake ahi. It comes with mixed greens and asparagus. There also is some "bomb sauce". It's nice and creamy with a slight hint of heat. The furikake ahi was nicely prepared. It wasn't overcooked. It was done almost perfect. I like to see some rawness in the middle but it was close. It was really good and I was quite surprised. The asparagus too was really good. It wasn't overcooked where it's mushy or undercooked where it's hard. Prepared perfectly. I'm not a veggie person but the dressing was really good. Not exactly sure what type of dressing it was but it came with it. So no Thousand Island, Ranch, French, Italian or your Oil and Vinegar. It was really good. I just wish they gave a little more. Overall it was a really good and satisfying meal. It compares well with a restaurant like Nicos. Just not the same atmosphere and you're probably going to wanna take it home to eat. Lots of parking in the very early morning as every place else is closed. They are open 24 hours. A rarity after covid came and went. So if you're looking for someplace open late night or early morning serving a good furikake ahi this is your place. Give them a try. It's worth the price at under $20. There are many other offerings to choose from and will probably try something else from here. They also do offer a mixed plate where you can have two choices off their regular menu board. Sorry I didn't take pictures of the menu. Maybe next time I'm here. The person that took my order was really nice. She was an elderly Filipina. She was very nice and pleasant especially at working this very early morning. I think her name was ate Letti or maybe auntie Letti. Very good service.
