Do you have a fully operational four year-old vehicle that you purchased brand new and never had an…read moreissue with? Do you want this vehicle to begin to have mechanical problems? If so, bring your car to Valvoline in Novato! I have a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox that has never had a single issue. I bought it brand new. I usually get my oil changed at the dealer, but decided to try Valvoline. What a mistake. They told me I needed a new air filter which I know they always try to up sell you so I said fine and they changed the oil and away I went in about 25 to 30 minutes. The minute I pulled the car out of the Valvoline bay, the car hesitated. I didn't know why but figured maybe it was the way I stepped on the gas. Because I live minutes away, I thought nothing of it. On my way to work the next day, which was yesterday the check engine light came on. I had no idea why but had to get to work so figured it might turn off and maybe it was a fluke. On the way home, the check engine light was on again. I called Valvoline and had to go through a bunch of people before they would connect me to the location. I talked to Giovanni and he said "maybe there's residue from the new air filter we put in. It might be residue from the old filter" so he hooked the car up and got a code of P171. He said that has nothing to do with the air filter. He removed the check engine light, told me to take it to a mechanic, and sent me on my way. The check engine light came on again. This morning I called Valvoline and again had to go through a couple of people and the woman told me that I had to take it to a mechanic because that's what I was advised by Giovanni at Valvoline. I believe this timing is awfully suspicious, and I said that to her. She said that she believes that it must be something with the car and the best thing for me to do is take it to a mechanic. I said Valvoline won't even check to see if maybe they didn't put all the fluids in or something wasn't connected correctly? No, she said you must call a mechanic. I practically laughed out loud. I called my mechanic and told him what happened and he did laugh out loud. The minute I said "I brought my car to Valvoline for an oil change...", he burst into laughter. I knew before this call, but I also knew after this call that I should never have taken my car to Valvoline. They get you on a 15 minute oil change, but then a day or two later, you have to drop your car off at a mechanic to find out what's wrong with it. Valvoline will be hearing from me again or from my representative directly because this situation is outrageous. Do yourself a favor and take the extra time to bring it to a dealer or a mechanic that you trust. Valvoline takes no responsibility.

The second time, (different tire) I thought once again, for sure I needed a new tire...low and behold, they fixed it again! So when it came to getting new tires, I didn't hesitate.... I called H&J and I had decided to get 4 new tires, I was able to get an appointment for the next day. Brought her in, signed the estimate and off to lunch I went. About an hour goes by and John calls me to say my back 2 tires have lots of life left so I only needed 2. He'll rotate them and check the alignment. When I picked her up, he said the alignment was fine and didn't need adjusting. I can't express the gratitude I have for the honesty of the guys who work there. I could have easily been sold everything I was expecting without needing it yet. I am married to an honest tradesman, which means I hear the stories of the deceitful people who take advantage whenever possible. So, huge "kudos" to these guys for being good humans! -One Loyal Customer!

I was sent here by another shop that damaged my vehicle, they really lagged on fixing it but I felt like they were honest with me. I brought the vehicle back for more service later. Still a happy customer. I then brought the next vehicle in. $1300 to repair it sounded high but I agreed. Less than 500 miles and 6 months later the same exact engine code repeats. When I called the shop the person answering not only didn't know how to take a message, but called me back and yelled at me on a voice mail! It's bad enough we pay through the nose for fake repairs but the rude pushback is unacceptable. How much business will you lose for not listening to your customer?

I had no issues just wanted to replace the pump, noticed some seepage for the pump but that was all, not leaking much, just a few drips sometimes. When I picked up my car and started it in the shop all the coolant surged out, the mechanic said there is another leak from another section of the coolant system. If a pressure test was actually performed this would have been identified. I paid for that additional repair. A few days later I drove the car to San Jose and when I got to my destination my coolant was completely empty. The lower coolant hose wasn't fastened properly. I spent a whole day getting towed back to Novato. That problem was supposedly fixed free of charge. Once I got my car back it was only driven for about 30miles and I experienced the same problem but from a different location in the system, All my coolant leaked out making it un-Drivable. I've been waiting on a call back to address and fix this issue. At this point I am so frustrated and just want a proper repair. I have receipt and proof of mileage. This shouldn't have happened,so much wasted time has been spent on this repair.
