Dined in and found our new favorite gem in Sherwood! We love Korean food and we were pleasantly surprised with our experience here. Right off the bat, they had lots of seating for both small and big groups. The interior of the restaurant, along with their utensils adds a luxury feel. Everything was clean. Staff were so friendly, kind, and made sure to check in on us often. Food came out so quickly and we didn't have to wait long at all. We had the cheese buldak, sundubu-jjigae with spam and sausage, and Korean fried chicken. I believe the fried chicken is new on their menu and they had different flavors to choose from. Banchan had a great variety, which I loved. Cheese buldak came out sizzling and was topped with corn and cheese. So yummy! The star of the show for us was the sundubu-jjigae. You have to get it with spam if you love it. We're already thinking about coming back when the weather gets colder and couldn't stop talking about how delicious everything was. Each entree was definitely on the pricier side compared to other Korean restaurants, however. It was worth it to us because we loved how everything tasted. We can't wait to dine in again. read more

I first discovered this place while pumping gas across the street at the Chevron when the Korean letterings and soft opening sign caught my eye so I wanted to try this place out. There aren't any other sit down Korean restaurants in the area (except for Koba Grill) and I also wanted to add another variety to my places for food in Sherwood. I asked my daughter to come along with me and we had dinner earlier this evening. They are located next to Walgreens so there are two ways to enter their parking lot. Either from the Highway 99 side or take the back entrance directly facing the ice skating arena. We took that route. The interior of the restaurant is modern and inviting. Their furniture is modern decor and there's ample parking throughout. We wanted to go with the Baekban order and it came with your choice of protein and 6 banchan sides. At first when I ordered I thought it was a great idea to share with two people but the lady quickly pointed out that there's a min of two orders. Since I was super hungry we decided to go with two orders (Bossam and Bulgogi) which meant a total of 12 sides. What surprised me were that instead of receiving a set of the same sides between two Baekban orders, each of the 12 sides were different but all tasty, so we had a mini-feast of sides including our proteins. Verdict- Delicious! Probably the best Korean food I've had in this area. Each side had their own unique flavors. (See photo). It turned out to be more food that we can handle but we brought home what we couldn't finish to eat for leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. I can see how some of the people that made a comment about not being able to share was probably due to a miscommunication meaning you cannot order one and share between two people so you probably have to order one for each or the same for each. I did notice though that in the 3 weeks span since the menu photo was uploaded, the Baekban went up in price by about $2 (29.99 vs 31.99). Don't sleep on this place. It may be a little pricey but it's worth it. For the amount of food that we got, it was well worth it. Family owned and authentic recipes. The daughter was quite friendly but the mother may be a little reserved and the father (who I think was the cook) knows how to prepare Korean food. Can't wait to head back here again and bring more of my other family members to try this place out. read more

I often belittle new restaurants in Sherwood for being repetitive, for not bringing anything new to Sherwood. We have more than enough burgers, plenty of Pizza, and tons of tacos. But we don't have any Korean... until now! Finally a truly new restaurant in Sherwood: Hamjibak. And the flavors are excellent. First challenge: finding the place. Hint: it's in the building next door to Walgreens. You can turn in directly from 99W, but only if you're south-west-bound. If you're going north-east on 99W, you must turn left at the light with Edy Road and then take the first right onto Borchers Drive and then take the second right into the Walgreens parking lot and the building will be on the left. Second challenge: parking. This building has three businesses in it and ten parking spaces... two of which are handicapped. You'll probably park at Walgreens and take a short walk. The third challenge will be deciding what to order . The major dishes are served family-style and it'll be best to have at least two people. The final challenge will be eating all of the food. Each meal comes with a dozen small-plate "side dishes", soup, and rice. It's a big meal. But it is a delicious meal. All of the sides are made in-house. All have interesting flavors. It's a bit of a culinary adventure. Korean is not a spicy-hot has some Asian cuisines are. This makes it more interesting to eat and requires more skill to prepare. They've done a good job with the decor. And the service is good too. Because Korean food is complex, it can be a challenge for people with a lot of food allergies. You might want to call ahead. Korean food, however, is very vegetarian-friendly. There are plenty of delicious vegetarian options. However, for vegans and other extremes, you have to ask yourself how well you trust such a small kitchen to control minor cross contamination. Gluten free is quite possibly here. There is no "kids menu" and picky-eater kids might not care for this unusual food. Accessibility is good and there are two handicapped spots right by the door. My advice to the management is to expand the menu to include some weekday lunch plates that are not such a big meal. 12 sides, soup, rice, and a main dish is quite a lot for lunch for Americans. In conclusion, grab some friends or family, make up a foursome, and come here for an excellent meal. I'm glad to see a new restaurant that expands the choices in Sherwood. read more

A newer Korean spot located out in Sherwood area. They have some decent banchan that comes with ordering a couple of the special set entrees. We ordered a few dishes to share. The bossom dish was great and the meat was not dry or bland. The spicy pork and Dak bulgogi were decent. Overall, nice place to check out. read more

I am beyond thrilled that Sherwood finally has a Korean restaurant! I got an order for takeout - seafood pancake, original soft tofu soup, and galbi. Everything was phenomenal. The seafood pancake was light, crispy and packed with seafood, the shorts ribs were perfectly seasoned, and the soup was very, very, spicy. I also received some white rice with my order and a generous assortment of banchan. It's expensive, but I am happy to pay the prices for food like this. I am really looking forward to going back again and trying more of the dishes. There is limited parking directly in front the restaurant and the other businesses next to it. read more

Finally, a delicious Korean restaurant has opened up in this area. As someone who lives down the street, we were patiently waiting for Hamjibak to open. Once we saw the "Soft Opening" sign go up, we went that same night. There was a limited menu due to the soft opening but they had most of the things we wanted to try. We were served some traditional banchan of assorted pickled vegetables, japchae, potato salad, etc. They were all very tasty and some of them had a nice spicy kick to it. We were first served galbi and bibimbap. The galbi was nicely cooked and juicy. The bibimbap had a great variety of ingredients. The person who ordered it started to eat it without the gochujang bc it wasn't initially brought out, but he said it was amazing especially after adding the sauce. The next items to come out were the seafood sundubu and the ham ji bossam. The seafood sundubu was my absolute favorite. The broth was so rich with flavor with nice bits of seafood throughout. The bossam was the crowd pleaser of the night. The pork belly was cooked well and didn't have the funky pork flavor you can sometimes get. The kimchi that came with it... was SO GOOD. If we had more stomach space, I might have ordered more to go with our meal. The last to come out was the army stew. They set up a burner to finish cooking the final touches of enoki and glass noodles. There were lots of spam and hot dog in the boiling broth. I was pretty full at this point but I saw the rest of the people at my table inhaling it. I was told I absolutely at least had to try the noodles soaked up with the broth. I got a bite of noodles with the broth and I can say this is my favorite budae jeongol I had ever tried. The broth had such a complex and umami flavor to it. I wish I could have eaten more! This is also made for at least 2 people, it's a large serving. All in all, everything was a hit. Nicely seasoned, well-cooked, and the spice level was perfect. We're definitely going back, especially to try some of the items from their full menu. read more

Who has been hiding this place from me. Indisputably the best food in Sherwood. As a hapa kid, I got to watch my Mom devour the most delicious kimchis while my spice-challenged white Dad got to destroy the bossam and galbi. We absolutely over ordered and there's nothing I'd leave out on the second go. I'm attaching the current menu, as the soft opening means they have slightly fewer options so if you order online, for now, use this! We got the spam and sausage stew, spicy pork bibimbap , galbi, and bossam. The owner also gave us soup on the house! She was so so kind and helpful too. Although the menu is a little pricey, the food is very delicious and the portions are very good. Authentic family owned Korean food. I think what people might forget is that rent for small businesses in Sherwood is rather high and it makes sense that their prices would be a little more expensive than one would expect. Finally!!! Korean food in Sherwood. We have been going to Beaverton where there are many choices. Went for lunch and it was hands down the best Korean food I have had. The banchan is next level good. Lotus root, apple salad, japchae and so much more. The fish was very flavorful and the bossam was melt in your mouth.
