SO disgusted with this company!! I signed on for siding and window for my house in July 2015. The salesman Chris was very helpful and not pressuring at all- other than the 60 minute appointment turned into a 3 hour appointment...I was very excited about our new windows and siding and even displayed their HANSONS sign in my yard... The siding and the windows are very nice, however, the contractors used and customer service are far worse than horrible...to say the least..The sub-contractor who came to install my windows did a very shotty job. All my windows (8) trim are white, he installs nude wood quarter round- to make the window meet my existing interior trim- and then leaves a 2 inch gap from the bottom!! He damaged the majority of my interior trim trying to take it off, broke the casing on the Bay window when he installed it, then acted like he could GLUE IT and it would be fine!!! Called customer service and was told they would get me a new window but it would take another 8 weeks...still waiting on that window to be installed.. . The sub contractor who came to install my siding (I happened to personally know.. ex of a family member)but when he finished the siding (which took 2 weeks because he didnt show up til 10am and the left by 3pm and worked alone)there was supposed to be a walk thru and a satisfaction card completed, he stated the contractors filled the card out and a Hanson's rep wont ever actually come out and do a walk through, even thought they might tell you they will. I had issues with some of the siding not being SECURED TO MY HOUSE and gaps and holes, I called Hansons I was very rudely told that things happen and they will fix it so RELAX!! really relax? Think HANSONS will RELAX if I mess with paying or not paying my bill? As of today still waiting on a new window, gutters were supposed to be installed today, I was the only scheduled appointment I was told. Yet as of 1:56pm, still no contractor has come to install the gutters. Called spoke to David Elias, he explained NORMALLY they call when they need to reschedule, but I beat them too it. I explained that I have called numerous times, because appointments were made, yet we werent notified until the day before; appointments that were set, weren't kept on several occasions, the start times never accurate, every time you call Hansons the customer service makes you feel like you are bothering them from their real job...David acted like he was concerned, but his empathy needs some work. Lori C. was supposed to be my project coordinator (HAHAHA), but I constantly had to call and be my own project coordinator; checking on days and times and confirming. David could care less. He just kept saying this isnt how it NORMALLY works, well after 3 months of working with HANSONS, Im not quite sure anybody there knows how it actually is SUPPOSED TO WORK!! Hansons is about customer satisfaction until you sign...once you sign their dotted line, you become one of their victims...David Elias assured me that their practices and policies are always customer oriented and followed to the T...Well if they are, then why are there so many complaints that are all the same? OH FYI the subcontractors they use, they don't screen, because my siding contractor (the one I knew) I know for a fact that his license has been suspended for too many drunk driving offenses...I guess Hanson's only cares about looking good for commercials, not who is actually representing their company by the CRAP labor they hire. I will personally tell everyone I know and ANYONE who wants to listen my horrendous story and dealings with the very unprofessional Hansons. Don't bother wasting your time with Hanson's. I had Hanson's out last night to give me a quote. It took 3 reschedules in 1 week to get them to come out. The before they give you the quote, they have you watch a video, then they insist you enter a review on their site before you get the quote. Christian, the salesman, told me he would calculate my discount before he took off the $600 monthly promo. I was tracking his math, and it was wrong, I even brought it up to his attention. And he insisted he did not say that. He put a sign in my yard for an extra 2% discount, but that 2% turned out to be like more than 0.5% because every discount he took off, was the previous discounted price. One time when he called into the office, he was supposedly talking to someone, I have good hearing, and at the end of the conversation, I heard his phone say "You have reached the maximum length for message...". I elected not to say anything to see if he was telling the truth, and sure enough, he said he got permission to give me another discount. After he left, I replayed the recorder that he didn't know I was recording, and sure enough in his own words "To save you more money, I will calculate your discounts on the original price before I subtract the Promo savings" So in the end, if you do the calculations, it was a difference of close to $60 I would lose out on just for that 1 discount. Overall it was a difference of more than $1,300 I would loose out on because of the way he calculated it. Therefore; it was not really a discount. I showed him my math before he left, and walked him through it, but he insisted he couldn't give me the discounts off the beginning price because it wouldn't show up correctly and he could get in trouble. Needless to say, I have cancelled the window measurement for next week. Scheduling the appointment - worse appointment service and lack of respect for your time: I had set up the appointment for Friday 11/24/2017 morning at 9AM. I got a call that day at 9:24 AM saying that they wanted to schedule my appointment for Saturday 11/25/2017 at 10 AM. I reminded them that they were already supposed to be there, and they couldn't find the appointment anywhere. I rescheduled the appointment for Saturday 11/25/2017 at 10:00 AM. I even reschedule my appointments to make time for them to come seeing they had already missed the appointment for Friday. Saturday morning at 8:51 AM, I got a call from Hanson's saying the sales person could not make it out until noon. I was irritated as I had already rescheduled all of my appointments for the morning. But I gave them another chance. at 11:52 AM, I got a call from the salesman saying we couldn't make it until between 1:30 and 2. They had just wasted my day and I told him to forget it and cancel it. Monday 11/27/2017 morning at 9:24 MA I got a call from Hanson's apologizing. They said they wanted to send out a sales person and a manager and they would make it right. They promised me a Pro-Cam camera and a Visa gift card to let them have another try. So I scheduled it for 4:00 PM, and the salesperson arrived promptly at 4PM. No manager accompanied him, and he obviously wasn't a manager if he had to call and get permission to give me a discounted price. When Christian (Chris) B left last night, he left his business card and he is not a manager. I had heard from a friend that they use contractors and some were sketchy. So I asked Chris if that was the case, and he said that they ran background checks on all installers before they got certified to install the windows. CT read more

Part 2 conclusion of my Hansons Review done under Detroit location, but same company...... All this in light of their statements that, their roofers would be "fighting over my job" because the condition of the roof decking boards was "straight", and that the roof was simple with only one ridge. When asked about installation timing, an initial 6 to 8 week wait was quoted, but they felt that this could be adjusted to 2 weeks. When asked about how many were in the crew, it went to about 4 people, but seemed more like 2 would be doing it based on the hedging of their answer to commit how many. When asked about the cleanup, it of course would be superb, and walk arounds before and after the job would be done by involving the homeowner with the crew chief. When asked about specific nails ( serrated nails with extra holding power as used by one of their competitors) they knew nothing about this nail. Interestingly, at the conclusion of the meeting, the lead presenter seemed frustrated, as while heading toward the vehicle, kept talking with her back to me while walking with no face to face communication, including not even a "thank you" for my time or consideration of their service. Albeit, being rejected on a sale proposal may and is painful, a salesperson should still accept not everyone agrees and there will be rejection, even after the target customer makes a counteroffer. This speaks volumes of the company at an additional level of company values. I hope this detailed synopsis provides some insight as to what you might expect when calling a big-box company with a canned presentation that is strategically designed to coerce you into a sale you might not want. As it were, I contacted an independent roofer who had done my roof before, and who took less than 15 minutes to provide a quote and shingle literature. My due dilegence begins at researching shingle quality and color, of which shingle quality was the main emphasis of Hansens strategy with a "lifetime guarantee" that may yet need further clarification beyond a simple "no fine print" sheet printed on an ink jet printer. In closing, good luck to homeowners in your search for reputable contractors, and I merely provide this for your information and not to swear and cuss about a bad experience. I am writing this review based upon my experience six months after Hanson's windows replaced some of my windows and my sliding glass door. First of all, Hanson's is not a contractor that will leave you waiting with unanswered phone calls and questions. They are always prompt, courteous, and well-versed in the complexities of proper window replacement.  At the time of my project, they carried three types of windows, all at different price points. Their top tier, the ultimate, is unmatched in quality and energy efficiency. The windows are tightly sealed and have a heavy, dense feel to them. Indeed, the moment they were installed, the difference we felt in overall comfort was beyond our wildest dreams. The installation fit and finish is literally perfect. The windows are custom built in the USA for every frame, and the installation team made the windows look better than brand new. I cannot say enough good things about how wonderful the installation looks. Six months after we had them put in, we had one minor adjustment issue with our sliding glass door, which was covered under warranty. It took longer than I would have liked to get someone out to look at it, so this was one negative point on an otherwise perfect experience. The owner, Brian, was apologetic and did what he could to fix the problem, so it wasn't enough  to make me dock them a star. Fortunately, that's the only nit I have to pick.  The other nice surprise was how tidy Mr. B's team was. When they showed up, the team laid down drop cloths throughout my entire house. They worked quickly and with military precision, and finished the job by the early afternoon. When they were done, not a speck of dirt was left on my carpet. Fantastic! All this does come at a cost-- don't look to Hanson's Windows if you want box store windows at cheap prices and Made-In-China quality. I've seen what happens when people go cheap on windows, and it isn't pretty. They'll be flimsy, offer little protection when the temperatures sway, and don't slide open and closed in a straight, easy line. Needless to say, if you don't invest properly in high-quality custom windows, you'll pay for it down the road. Better to do it right the first time. Better to hire Windows on Washington. I couldn't be happier, and I'll be hiring them to finish the rest of my home next year at tax time! read more

I must say I was extremely impressed with the job Hansons did on my new roof and the way the whole process was handled from start to finish. We met with our sales consultant James he was a very respectable and no nonse type of sales rep. Being in sales myself I understand the nature of the business and he laid it all out there on the line discussing with us our options different packages including additional fees (permit fees, additional wood replacement fees). He didn't try to up sell us and when I asked if I should redo the detached garage in the back he said does it leak? I said no. He said then I wouldn't you can't even see the roof from the street anyways. After inspecting the roof he gave me a little education in roof 101 which he spotted a spot that was not correctly flashed (hence why it was leaking) and he brought to my attention that the roof had been re-shingled a few years ago. After agreeing on a price Tammy the project manager contacted me about scheduling an install. She was extremely pleasant and great to work with and went over my entire order and how the project would unfold. Come Monday morning the dumpster was delivered, Florian and his crew from F and L Roofing were there around 9am and they fought the rain over the next 2 days to finish the job. Florian was extremely knowledgeable and pointed out some possible issues with my roof before they even started. He went over the paperwork with me and we discovered that ridge venting was on my paper work but i needed 750 can venting (which I had originally signed up for). Not a problem we made the correction on the spot. Tammy kept me posted on updates of the job, and when they had to replace half the wood on my roof Tammy gave me the prepaid pricing on the wood even though I elected not to prepay for the wood. That was a savings of $575. Again I have nothing but great things to say about this company and it's employees and would refer any of my family, friends, or neighbors to them. read more

The original estimate by this company was rather steep but with a fairly good discount.  The salesman for hanson's was much nicer and low-key in comparison to a high-pressure, obnoxious presentation i'd had by another dealer who literally got into a fight with my husband after a nearly 3 hour spiel.  I chose this company with the opinion that the job would likely be performed correctly.  At install, the two installers arrived right on time at 8 a.m, inspected the window locations, helped me remove blinds that I couldn't figure out how to take down myself, did some measuring to assure that the window they brought were likely to fit, laid down drop cloths in their work areas, and both quickly got to work.  The installers were extremely nice, professional, efficient, tolerant of questions and open to suggestions, and I found them to be an extremely compatible pair.  They took great care in the difficult removal of my old windows, which were very firmly nailed and glued into the walls.  In placing the window inserts, they did no damage to any of my existing woodwork.  In the dining room, which had a slanted brick outer sill, they discovered that the original measurements taken were not quite accurate, as the outside opening was slightly smaller than the inside.  I thought we might have a disaster looming, but the installer was able to chisel a slightly larger opening at the top of the window opening, allowing both windows to fit perfectly.  He also took great care in leveling the windows and in making sure that they seated properly, with no leaks, and his caulking job was also very neat.  Outside, I had new aluminum trim installed around the windows, and this matched my existing trim exactly, also done very nicely and neatly.  The job took about 4 hours altogether, and I think that the job done was worth every penny, expensive or not.  Kudos to this great pair of installers, and I hope that I can have them out again! read more

First off $4,000 for 3 casement windows, I knew it would be expensive but I didn't mind for quality. Unfortunately I didn't get quality. The screens are held in by ugly screws on the inside. One window was shipped with both window panes cracked (it was replaced in a reasonable time) the one screen was damaged and the installers said it would be replaced (over a month later still waiting). Windows are hard to latch (have to crank as hard as you can to get closed enough). The cranks are hard to crank (my old Anderson windows worked much better). I was told by the salesman I could keep the one casement window that was being replaced as I wanted it for my deer blind (only reason it was replaced was to match the other 2 in the room). I told the installers I wanted it for my deer blind, they then not 2 minutes later took a Sawzall to it and cut the center of the frame and ripped it out in pieces and left the window panes only but no hardware or frames (what good is a double casement window with no frame or hardware). I paid for the "upgraded frame" that is not supposed to be able to flex in anyway, when you crank the window shut you can see the frame flexing and twisting (good thing they used fiberglass insulation around the frame and not the foam like they were supposed to use otherwise I might really get a cold breeze). People do compliment them but I'm unsure if they are just being nice as I was expecting a nicer looking window. I've also had the cranks pop off and I had to reinstall them. On a plus side the windows do seem to seal good and keep out a lot of sound (compared to the old) you don't feel heat coming in thru the glass from the sun but the low e glass does add a tint so your rooms are darker. Overall I probably wouldn't recommend casement windows from Hanson as you can get (in my opinion) a better quality from Anderson that we had previously and they look nicer. read more

Hansons did a great job with our last three old windows. Today we had the remaining windows of our home replaced. The installers Marty and Jeff did a great job and answered all the questions we had with patience and attentiveness. They also took the time to explain the project and adjustments well. They were also not bothered by our children's curiosity and age typical behavior. They were patient with them while staying focused on completing the job. Our remaining old windows had a couple short comings. One had damaged molding from the previous homeowner, they replaced that. The other window was in an area that settle over time, they adjusted the fit so it would have a tight seal and explained everything to us. The other reason we were able to give 5 stars this time rather than 4 for our last review is they used a different Caulk indoors so we don't have that harsh smell to deal with :-) That was my main issue with the last installation. Once again they cleaned up behind themselves (inside and out) like they were never here. We will definitely be using Hanson's for more improvements later this year. We also now have the great transferable lifetime guarantee on ALL of our windows. One of our sales reps Adam stopped by prior to our installers to check the appointment time and show me how to complete the survey. Despite the cold weather they worked fast replacing the old windows, we were able to manage the cold with out needing to wear coats. Our home reheated fairly quick after putting in the new windows, even before they sealed them inside and out. I will suggest Hansons for windows (the only product we have from them) to anyone I know looking to improve climate control and reduce energy cost. The improvement in curb appeal and noise reduction are great as well. Lots of cute dogs in our neighborhood ;-) . read more

Okay. So I had a bad-ish experience last month with Hansons so I wrote my review. Let me tell you, I am no longer an upset customer! So far, Hansons is the only business that has replied to anything that I have posted on Yelp or any other review blog. They called me and said that they were very upset with my experience and wanted to make sure that I was happy and satisfied with what they were supposed to initially do for me! They came the very next day, on time, ready to work. I thought that they were going to come to my house just to tell me that they were sorry and here is a gift for all of your troubles. NO. That was not the case. The manager and an installer came to my house to make sure that everything would be fixed and that I was being well taken care of. They re-caulked everything. Not even just where I had an issue. They re-caulked the whole thing. I also did receive a gift and a personal guarantee that I would be taken care of for any other household needs. So, I got an estimate on my roof with Hansons. I had told them that I was low on cash and I had received a few offers that were lower than what he told me. He said he could promise that he could match or beat their offers (which he matched) and that they also offered financing. They also have a 100% lifetime guarantee on their roofing! I was sold. Then 2 days later (when the manager said I would receive a call) I spoke with the scheduling department to get everything all set up. She was very nice, well spoken and best of all, well mannered! Financing went easily, getting the city permit went smoothly and I can't believe what a difference this experience is like compared to last month. Way to go Hanson's. So I talk to the president of Hansons and he said to me that they would fix on my house so the rep came out to my house I had to filled out papers and in the Winter they were going to do my house they delivered the supplies to my house and they been sitting in my driveway since November December and every time they call to schedule an appointment with me they would tell me that they're coming out and then they would not show up and in three days later they will call and tell me that they're not coming out due to bad weather so my concern is Hanson has not been working on any houses since November December January February March and April so they have NOT been out working on any houses to my knowledge due to the weather, that's what I feel because they cancel and cancel reschedule & reschedule and cancel and cancel reschedule reschedule and cancel and reschedule . Now, I don't know if anyone else been having problems with Hanson but this is ridiculous for 6 , six , 6 , six months that the supples have been sitting in my Driveway & Hanson has not called or touched my house so I'm so I feel and think they should knock off pretty much half of the price. What is the hold up Hanson? We been having Beautiful weather in April and nothing.Someone from Hanson called my house and the guy was coming out on the 2nd to work on my house, he calls back and says " Oh I grabbed the wrong file " I'm not working on your house. I called Hanson and they sured me that on the 3-4 that they will be out to work on my house "No Matter what the weather is like , so I took off work for them two days and No Call / No Show ,So that was "A Lie "! I am looking to replace the windows in my home and decided to look into Hansons windows for an estimate. Their store isn't far from me so I decided to just stop in. When I arrived I was greeted and was told someone would be right with me. After about 5 minutes of waiting (which was a little frustrating) a gentleman by the name of Deon came down to assist me. He took me through the showroom and showed me a few samples of what they offer. He explained to me that it is best to set up an appointment and have the representative come out to my home to show me everything that way he can see my windows that I currently have and get a proper measure. I agreed. The Appointment - I set my appointment up for 7pm since I work and that would be the best time for me. My representative Joe arrived at about 7:20, which wasn't too bad. Especially considering the office called me to give me a heads up his prior appointment took a little longer and he was on his way. When he showed up I expected a typical high pressure sales representative, however, it was quite the opposite. He came in, shook my hand, said hi to my daughter, asked me what "I" was looking for and not what I should have. On the phone I was told it would take about 45 minutes, but it did run a little longer closer to about an hour and half. He showed me every type of window that would work in my home, colors, my financing options, anything I asked for. By the end of the presentation I was sold. First of all let me say it's a hard choice to chose which company is trustworthy to do an entire house of new windows, so the choice should feel good, and I am confident in the choice I have made with Hansons! I have had 3 window companies out! I had Wallside, a smaller window company as well as Hansons! I am a highly educated and intellectual person, so when I had a lot of choices and decisions I made sure to do my research and ask in-depth questions (sorry Joey). Joey was the person who came to my house, he was very professional and patient and even put on little shoe covers to protect my newly renovated house. Of course he may have wanted to protect his does as well, hehe :). He was nice, understanding, and very informative. We went through the house and he got measurements and he explained the windows. My house was built in 1956 so getting new windows is a must and any new window would probably do a decent job, but I know these windows will do an excellent job. I am getting top of the line windows and for a great price. My husband and I are always trying to be efficient in our costs as well as being sustainable to the environment, these windows will do both! Not only did Joey take the time to text and call me back when I had extra questions, but he had the guys come out to take final measurements the same day! Again they were very professional! I told him now that i've said yes, the sooner I get them in the better! Overall, I am highly satisfied, and how could I not be. I'm very happy with the service Hanson's provided. I purchased my home in November of 2013 and it has needed some upgrades for a while, siding, roof, windows. I wanted to get them all done at once, so I called the first company that came to mind: Hanson's. I figured, why not get everything done by one company, rather than shopping around - it just makes things easier that way. Everyone was super helpful, from setting up the appointment and contract to the team of professionals that finally showed up to do the work. They actually completed the project much earlier than originally estimated which was a big plus for me. I had used Hanson's in the past to do some work on some investment properties of mine, but never this much at once - so I have to admit i was a bit nervous at first, especially since i'm planning to keep this home! They did a great job, one guy even had dog treats with him and fed the puppy LOL! Overall I'm very happy with the service i received, and they beat most of the quotes i had already gotten - probably because it was one team doing all of the work, instead of several different projects being managed by several different project companies. It's easier for them to eliminate additional costs. I'd definitely recommend using 1-800 Hanson's, especially if you're looking to have several things done at once, in a timely manner, and much more in line with the budget that YOU had in mind. The installation of my Hansons windows has recently been completed and I couldn't be more satisfied. The entire process from sales to installation was handled professionally and went easily and smoothly. The sales rep was extremely knowledgeable, giving lots of information and answering all my questions. There was no pressure or hard sell. He gave me time to think about it as I did my research and got quotes from other companies. He quickly answered several calls about concerns I had and even made time to come back to the house to check on some concerns. The employee who came out to measure even handled a particular situation that could have caused a problem with installation so I wouldn't have to fix it myself. The hardest part of the entire process for me was waiting for the windows to be made! But throughout the few weeks of waiting I was contacted with updates and schedule information. Everyone was friendly, professional and easy to deal with. Then came the day of installation. Wow! Two very courteous, respectful young men showed up and with obvious expertise and skill quickly and efficiently removed the old windows and installed the new ones. Even though they had to finish in the rain, Nathan and Dalton maintained a great attitude and seemed to really enjoy the work they were doing. They even cleaned everything up after the job. I called Hansons to get our original windows replaced in our 1950's home.  All the wood was rotted on them and they were very drafty.  Hansons came out to give me an estimate the same day that I called them. The representative gave me an estimate to replace 5 windows and a large picture window which I thought was very reasonable.  We also asked him to replace all the sills on the windows as they were in very bad shape as well.   A few weeks later our windows were in and they scheduled a crew to install them.  The office gave me a call about 45 minutes before the installation time asking if they could install the next day as we had rain. I wasn't too happy that we had to reschedule since I took the day off work to be there but very understandable due to the weather conditions they couldn't install. The next day the guys came to install, they were very courteous and they worked pretty much nonstop until the windows were in.  The gentleman from the crew that did the wood work was very methodical and didn't rush at all.  He made sure that everything was cut perfectly and installed right.  He did such great work that all the other trim around my house looks horrible in comparison.  The other gentleman did the outside work which looked great as well.  They worked very clean for such a messy job, my house was very clean after they were complete.  They took everything with them and I didn't have any material to deal with. I am amazed with the quality of work and window I got for the price.  We have 3 more to replace and I am not going to hesitate to call Hansons again. read more

My husband and I wanted to get our house updated with a new roof and siding this year. We received quotes from four different companies in our area. All the quotes were good; some low some high. We then received our quote from Hanson and could not believe the difference in all aspects of what we received. My experience with Hanson's was spot on. From the Sales agent to the installation everybody was punctual and very professional. Whenever I had to call customer service I was never on hold more than 5 minutes and answered all my questions easily and efficiently I would 100% recommend them to anybody. The sales rep was very friendly and to the point, did his presentation, measured our windows gave us a quote and talked about financing, answered our questions, packed up and gave us some time to talk it over in private, I would say in total he was in our home an hour. This appointment was right before thanksgiving, they told us it could be up to 3 months before they would get all our windows made (given all the holidays I thought this was pretty reasonable) We got a phone call middle of January that our windows were in and had them installed the first weekend of February. The only odd thing is the day of install I got a phone call to say the crew would be at our house at 9:30 ( I got the phone call at 9:28) and the crew was already in the driveway. This is not a complaint as I am glad they came early. I figure the earlier they came the sooner they would be done. It was really cold that day, I think a high of 20, but that did not slow them down. I never once saw them messing around on cell phones, or slacking off. We had 15 windows and a window to door wall conversion installed and completed in 1 day when originally they said it would be a two day install. We are very happy customers :) read more

If I could give my windows installation crew, Donnie Duke and Jenn and Matt, a score of 10 out of 5, I would...they were 200% amazing. To upgrade to a more energy efficient window takes a bit of a leap of faith; that your personal experience is going to be a positive one, that the window being installed is the quality it was touted to be, that the installation is going to be done properly so that all the seals are nice and tight and complete. With Donnie and his crew, I had no doubts. They were on-time. They were organized. They didn't look like they stayed out all night and partied (I've had a contractor like that before...ew.) Not these guys! They really worked efficiently, they were mature-yet-fun, they communicated well with me and each other and left my property and house meticulously clean. Watching them work, I could tell that they were focused and skilled. When someone is tearing out an 'ok' window from your house, it can be a very unnerving experience. These guys gave me every confidence that I was getting what I had paid for and that they were taking the care to do it with excellence. They gave my house the same attention they would their own, if not better. They also noted to me that an item my sales person had protected for in the original quote did not end up being necessary, so a price mark down was going to be credited to me.
