If you're ever in Port Orange and looking for an incredible, authentic Korean barbecue experience, I highly recommend Hanwoo. I was blown away by how good the food was. While I didn't do the all-you-can-eat option, I ordered the Chef's Special Prime Hanger Steak, and it was unbelievably tender--so tender it practically melted in my mouth. It came with three flavorful dipping sauces that complemented the meat perfectly. The meal also included a variety of fresh and authentic banchan (Korean side dishes). As a Korean, I can appreciate good banchan, especially since both my mom and sister are amazing cooks. Hanwoo definitely delivered on authenticity and quality. I was fortunate enough to try both of their soups--a rich beef broth soup and a flavorful kimchi soup. Both were outstanding and packed with traditional Korean flavor. The service was exceptional. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, and I even got to speak a little Korean with him, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, and feels brand new. It truly captures the warmth and tradition of Korean dining. I highly, highly recommend Hanwoo. In fact, I already need to call my parents because we're definitely coming here for Korean barbecue. If you're anywhere near Port Orange, do yourself a favor and give this place a try--you won't believe how good it is.

Hanwoo Korean BBQ--The "Hidden Workout" Dinner **Strechy pants, may be required** Rating: 5-Star If you want to feel like a Michelin-star chef and a competitive eater at the same time, get yourself to Hanwoo in Port Orange. I went with my BFF and her boyfriend after hearing all the hype, and let's just say, the hype is real (and very filling). The Vibe: Steakhouse Chic meets DIY: Oddly enough, the decor gives off major upscale steakhouse vibes. It's sleek, dark, and actually quite romantic or great for a quiet "getaway" dinner. It's definitely not your average "greasy grill" joint--the atmosphere is gorgeous and classy. Disclaimer: Even tho I was the 3rd wheel. lol The "No Doggy Bag" Challenge: Our waitress was super nice, but she didn't waste a second before dropping the hammer: "No to-go bags allowed." Basically, she was telling us, "Eat it all or leave it behind." Naturally, we took that as a personal challenge--accepted! The Food: Why it Beats a Traditional Steakhouse We went with the Classic Dinner, and the quality was top-tier. The Favorites: The Bulgogi and Hanger Steak were flavored to perfection. The Short Ribs were a total dream, and the Gyoza and Fried Shrimp were the perfect crispy distraction while we waited for the grill to heat up. The Value: Think about it--at a fancy steakhouse, you'd pay $50+ for one steak and maybe a side. Here, for a similar price, you get an unlimited parade of high-quality meats, seafood, and appetizers. Plus, I'd much rather pay for a nice sit-down meal--even if I have to cook it myself (pun intended! lol)--than waste money on "yucky" fast food. The Aftermath: I walked in hungry and left "overfilled." I'm not kidding when I say I literally couldn't get up from the booth. I had to sit there and contemplate my life choices for a few minutes before my legs would work. It's the kind of fun, delicious experience you do once a month or every other month to keep it special. (if that) Pro-Tips for Hanwoo Newbies: The "Same Page" Rule: Remember, the whole table has to pick the same menu (Classic or Signature). Choose your "meat-mates" wisely! Pace Yourself: It's all-you-can-eat, but the "no to-go" rule is real. Don't order 10 plates at once or you'll be staring at a pile of steak you're too full to eat. (Please be concious, don't waste food, TY). The "Forklift" Exit: Wear stretchy pants. This is not the place for tight belts or restrictive clothing. You will expand. For real tho, lol Master the Scissors: Use the provided tongs and scissors to cut the meat into bite-sized pieces while it's on the grill--it cooks faster and makes it easier to share!

Our 2nd visit in the last 12 months. 1st visit was ok, 2nd visit knocked it out of the park. Great ratings and reviews, and hungry for some good Korean food, provoked us to come back. Our server, Sophia, was exemplary in service, knowledge and customer service. We didn't catch the managers name but, she stopped by the tables numerous times on our visit. The runners, the servers, the food were all on point. Much to our surprise, one of the All You Can Eat specials on the weekend is only $27 per person and there is plenty of food for that price point. Sophia and company have made Hanwoo our new favorite Korean restaurant & BBQ in Volusia County.

I loved this placed so much I've come twice in the last week! Great selection of food and even appetizers. I loved loved the jumbo shrimp and chicken wings. The service was a hit or miss. First time we went out burned kept turning off. The second time the server she was so nice and kept bringing us refills. The meat was so buttery and soft it melted in your mouth. Will definitely be back soon again!

This place deserves the five stars right off the bat. The service we received was superb as my family and I were looking for a place to eat quality food for a special occasion. The architecture lends itself to interesting and unique decorative stylings, which coupled with quality food and outstanding service makes this a definite repeat spot. In terms of the menu, I can tell you that getting everyone on the same page is going to be easier than you think : if you come hungry with a formidable appetite, you will not be let down at the amount of delicious and quality cuts of protein and vegetables that are offered. This place distinguishes itself from others in that there is no fee for unconsumed foods . By no means, be wasteful, but rest assured you will not be chastised, which is a last thing anyone wants during a meal. The hands-on aspect was a lot of fun and gliding a touch of butter on the grill helps avoid sticking . The restaurant was lively enough to feel populated, but also quiet enough where in interpersonal conversations could still be heard at our table and understood with ease. In line with the restaurant theme itself, the music playing overhead was well suited for K-pop aficionados in the group.

Everything about this restaurant was genuinely fantastic. The restaurant itself was very clean, very decorative and well-kept. Our food didn't take long to show to our table at all, and all of the meat was very fresh and absolutely delicious. The beef bulgogi was my favorite by far. It was fantastic and juicy, the scallops were so fresh tasting and satisfying, along with everything else. It was a great time for all of us getting to cook our own food on the grill. Our waiter, Brian, just made the experience all the better. When he first greeted us, after learning I was new he took the time to explain their items and how things work and he was clear and kind. He was on top of everything from drinks, new food orders, and even changed the grill out for us twice. He was absolutely a model server. I could not recommend this place enough.

We are from Dallas so we are quite picky about our kbbq. This place is beautiful and clean. The meats are really good quality. We come here often but today came early and they haf an early bird special. It comes with unlimited appetizers. Great place.

This was so much fun! All the phones were down without even a second thought. We all giggled and laughed at one another! When you go if you love to cook sit in the middle of the table because it's easier to cook! I will go here over and over I love the people and the people plus all you can eat!

Yes! It was super nice to meet you Hanwoo! Thank you for joining our local community of Port Orange and providing a nice variety to our food scene. Service was on point. By that, I mean friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous. A fun time was had by all at the table for this interactive meal. The food is all you can eat so everyone left full and satisfied! The taste of the food was lovely. Simple, yet tasty marinades and fresh veggies. I will definitely return!

If I get the early bird special dos it last until I leave, and when does the early bird special start and end?

yes it will last till you leave , early bird special is only offer from Friday to Sunday till 4pm

    Are reservations available? Or recommended?

I've personally never made a reservation. You can but I would say if it's more than 3-4 people, I would suggest making a reservation.

Would each person order one of two of the meals ($36 or $48)? Or would one meal feed a few people? I am trying to figure out what an estimated cost might be for six of us. Thanks!

The whole table has to order the same level. So if one person wants the higher end selections everyone has to pay the same price.

I've traveled to places like New York, Orlando, Los Angeles, Chicago and Detroit to find some of the best Thai food, so I wasn't expecting to discover such a gem in Port Orange. I stopped into a small family-owned Thai restaurant and ordered one of my favorite dishes, Pad Prik King with beef, along with sticky rice and ice cream for dessert. From the very first bite, I was impressed. Their version of the Prik King was different from what I'm used to, featuring an extra ingredient that elevated the dish and made it absolutely phenomenal. I requested it moderately spicy, and they delivered a perfect level of heat--bold, flavorful, and authentic without overpowering the dish. The freshness of the string beans, the tenderness of the beef, and the rich, unique sauce all stood out. Every ingredient tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Then came dessert. Their homemade sticky rice served with ice cream completely exceeded my expectations. It was easily one of the best sticky rice desserts I've had, and I've visited a lot of Thai restaurants over the years. What made the experience even better was the warm hospitality. The waitress was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the entire meal feel like you were dining in someone's home rather than a restaurant. If you're a fan of authentic Thai food and want to support a great mom-and-pop business, I highly recommend checking this place out. It was a wonderful surprise and a meal I won't soon forget.
