Our 2nd visit in the last 12 months. 1st visit was ok, 2nd visit knocked it out of the park. Great ratings and reviews, and hungry for some good Korean food, provoked us to come back. Our server, Sophia, was exemplary in service, knowledge and customer service. We didn't catch the managers name but, she stopped by the tables numerous times on our visit. The runners, the servers, the food were all on point. Much to our surprise, one of the All You Can Eat specials on the weekend is only $27 per person and there is plenty of food for that price point. Sophia and company have made Hanwoo our new favorite Korean restaurant & BBQ in Volusia County.

I loved this placed so much I've come twice in the last week! Great selection of food and even appetizers. I loved loved the jumbo shrimp and chicken wings. The service was a hit or miss. First time we went out burned kept turning off. The second time the server she was so nice and kept bringing us refills. The meat was so buttery and soft it melted in your mouth. Will definitely be back soon again!

This place deserves the five stars right off the bat. The service we received was superb as my family and I were looking for a place to eat quality food for a special occasion. The architecture lends itself to interesting and unique decorative stylings, which coupled with quality food and outstanding service makes this a definite repeat spot. In terms of the menu, I can tell you that getting everyone on the same page is going to be easier than you think : if you come hungry with a formidable appetite, you will not be let down at the amount of delicious and quality cuts of protein and vegetables that are offered. This place distinguishes itself from others in that there is no fee for unconsumed foods . By no means, be wasteful, but rest assured you will not be chastised, which is a last thing anyone wants during a meal. The hands-on aspect was a lot of fun and gliding a touch of butter on the grill helps avoid sticking . The restaurant was lively enough to feel populated, but also quiet enough where in interpersonal conversations could still be heard at our table and understood with ease. In line with the restaurant theme itself, the music playing overhead was well suited for K-pop aficionados in the group.

Everything about this restaurant was genuinely fantastic. The restaurant itself was very clean, very decorative and well-kept. Our food didn't take long to show to our table at all, and all of the meat was very fresh and absolutely delicious. The beef bulgogi was my favorite by far. It was fantastic and juicy, the scallops were so fresh tasting and satisfying, along with everything else. It was a great time for all of us getting to cook our own food on the grill. Our waiter, Brian, just made the experience all the better. When he first greeted us, after learning I was new he took the time to explain their items and how things work and he was clear and kind. He was on top of everything from drinks, new food orders, and even changed the grill out for us twice. He was absolutely a model server. I could not recommend this place enough.

We are from Dallas so we are quite picky about our kbbq. This place is beautiful and clean. The meats are really good quality. We come here often but today came early and they haf an early bird special. It comes with unlimited appetizers. Great place.

This was so much fun! All the phones were down without even a second thought. We all giggled and laughed at one another! When you go if you love to cook sit in the middle of the table because it's easier to cook! I will go here over and over I love the people and the people plus all you can eat!

By that, I mean friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous. A fun time was had by all at the table for this interactive meal. The food is all you can eat so everyone left full and satisfied! Five-Star Experience for Gluten-Free Foodies and Korean BBQ Lovers Alike! From the moment we walked into Hanwoo in Port Orange, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for what turned out to be an incredible dining experience. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to accommodate my gluten allergy--something I deeply appreciate as someone who often struggles to find safe and enjoyable options when dining out. While I am not celiac, I am gluten intolerant, and Hanwoo made it so easy to enjoy a worry-free meal. They even offer gluten-free soy sauce and yum yum (white) sauce, which was a huge bonus. Best of all, the meats that weren't marinated were gluten-free--and let me tell you, they were phenomenal. The freshness and quality of the meat really stood out, even without any marinade. We tried the ribeye, hanger steak, and garlic butter jumbo shrimp (which were deveined, contrary to a previous review), and each was better than the last. The grill cooked everything super quickly, but the pace of cooking gave us the opportunity to relax and connect--it made our date night feel even more special. The unlimited apps and meats were an awesome bonus, and the fact that there were so many gluten-free options made it easy for me to enjoy everything stress-free. Our server was kind, checked in frequently, and made sure our grill stayed clean and fresh every few rounds. Our server even gave us this cool Korean dessert to end our night! (A melon ice cream pop) As someone with a gluten allergy, I often feel like an inconvenience when dining out. But Hanwoo made me feel welcomed! If you're gluten-free, this is absolutely a spot worth trying. If you're celiac, I recommend giving them a call ahead of time, but based on my experience, I believe they'll do their best to accommodate. 10/10 would recommend--fresh food, fantastic service, and a memorable, interactive dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

Great service from the start! My family of 10 came in on a Tuesday night and accommodated our party size immediately. Our server Sammy was great as soon as we got seated with asking and getting us anything we needed or for a "just in case" situation, she was so friendly and funny as well! The manager Jaime came over to let us know we can always ask for anything if needed or any complaints or concerns. She gave us soju on the house and a soju as a gift! The little snacks and appetizers were delicious and you are able to ask them to cook a certain meat for you in the back if you are worried about doing it yourself. I am visiting from California and will definitely be returning when I come back to Daytona!

Hanwoo Korean Barbeque, Port Orange, Florida -A few blocks from my sister-in-law's home sits Hanwoo Korean Barbeque, the spot we chose for a special 65th-birthday celebration. We might have walked there if it weren't for my Navy-veteran legs and the early darkness of our first evening back on Eastern Standard Time. So, we loaded up the van and soon arrived, hungry and curious. -Inside, Hanwoo felt warm and inviting. The high-ceilinged booths were roomy and comfortable--always a welcome feature for our large, happy crew. It was my first time there; everyone else was returning for a second round, and I could see why. The menu offered three tiers--basic, middle, and premium--plus tempting add-ons. We settled on the middle level with extras, and it turned out to be just right. Our waitress radiated friendliness, keeping a watchful eye on our table and somehow always arriving before we realized we needed her. We joked that she ought to sit down and rest a moment between trips. The built-in stainless grill at the center of the table soon became the evening's stage. Platters of marinated meats, vegetables, and sauces kept arriving, each more enticing than the last. Every few minutes the plates refilled, the aromas grew richer, and we felt completely pampered. When one of us ordered a Tsing Tao beer and learned they were out, a bartender actually went across the shopping plaza to fetch a few bottles from their sister restaurant. Now that's above-and-beyond hospitality. Then came dessert: a tiny trio of mango-orange velvet cake squares, candles flickering, and "Happy Birthday" sung in Korean. Each of us received a Dixie cup of vanilla or strawberry ice cream to close the evening sweetly. -It's not every day you get to celebrate turning 65--but doing it Korean-style made it memorable. -Hanwoo offered great food, better company, and service that went the extra mile. -Thank you.

After several recommendations to come here we finally tried Hanwoo. Our party of 4 all ordered the classic meals. The food had very good taste to it. We didn't like the small area of heat where you cook the meats. When you have 4 people trying to cook it's too small. We also don't like that we had to cook our own food. We ordered the hang steak very good. The pork belly very good. The spicy chicken not spicy. Calamari was well liked. Everything else was just okay. The rice and noodles were good but brought out in small bowls. Nothing was spicy here and we prefer spicy. All but one liked the dessert green ice cream. The Korean beer was good. So you have an idea a party of 4 will run you in the $200 price range plus tips. The waiter was fantastic and very helpful! The staff were very nice. The place still looks brand new. We are glad we tried Korean food. We did not like the concept but can see why others like it.

Where do I start! This is one of the absolute best Korean BBQ flights I've ever been too! I try my best to visit here each time I go back home! The price, the food and the service 1000/10!!! It nice, clean and spacious! I call the owner my auntie because that's how she makes you feel when you come to visit! The green tea shot get one before you eat and get one after so refreshing and very delicious! Please if you are ever in this area visit this spot! Tell my auntie Nisha sent you! This place is amazing to dine in with your family and friends! I love how spacious and yet intimate the setting of the environment feels. And you get to cook your own food! If that idea seems daunting, they can also cook it for you before serving it. The seats were comfortable and it doesn't feel like you have to fight for elbow space. The food was delicious and the sauce cooked with it was just right. We had our dishes cooked for us, so they had seasoned to perfection. The onions on top added a nice umami flavor. It wouldn't be a Korean bbq experience without the side dishes. And there was a good amount of choices. Unfortunately they do not have desserts on the menu, but they have Yakult (a probiotic drink). It is sweet enough to satisfy your taste buds!

I love this place. The hostess is friendly and eager for you to have a great experience, the food is fresh, the staff is quick to change out your grill if it starts to char, the cocktails aren't good. The timber framed booths really give the place a unique vibe. It's a better experience than most of the theme park restaurants I've been to. Seriously nothing bad you can say about this place. I've seen people say the food isn't seasoned. It's Korean BBQ, don't be an idiot. Ask for spices and sauces if you want them. There are marinated options, and the shrimp is killer. read more

Excelsior, you followers of the most *down* reviewer around, Peter Periwinkle! Here's ya main boo comin' at ya with a review of Hanwoo, doo doo doo! Listen, here's the rub, chums. This place is great. I have zero complaints about the food or service. Both were excellent. The only real catch here is that you're going to be shelling out at least 40 or so bucks a person, and probably more with drinks etc. For that, you get as much buh-buh-beef (etc.) as you can cram in your yawning pie hole voids. So too do you get very friendly/helpful service and some lovely ambience (just be warned, it's super cheesy. Your favorite review Peter P. loves a little schmaltz, though). All things considered, pretty durn good for the price. Here's my one complaint. The menu is really geared JUST towards in-table bbq. If you wanted to have, say, some bibimbap or some bulgogi cooked in the kitchen and brought out to you as a single entree, you're out of luck. Most KBBQ places have at least an option to order off a kitchen menu like that -- and even sometimes a few tables with no grills whatsoever. I think at least a few kitchen-entree menu options here would go a long way (listen, sometimes Mr. Periwinkle is too tired to grill his own grub after a long day at his main job beautifying the gardens of little old ladies across the world). That's why this is a 4 (rather than 5) star review. But if you're JUST in it for in-table BBQ, kindly disregard these ravings. Hanwoo? Han-W00t! Okay? Get what I meeeeean? read more

This place is better than other Korean BBQ places we have visited. We look forward to visits to Volusia County just to be able to stop here. Every category you can think of; the ambiance, the service, quality and quantity of food...everything is perfect. This time we arrived early afternoon. The lunch menu does have a few less options but also has a deeply reduced price. We honestly didn't feel like we were missing out. Bryan was the superstar of the day offering up the occasional pro tip on the types of dishes and cooking techniques. Checked on us often enough that we never needed anything without being too intrusive. I'd recommend the competition in places as far away as Orlando or Jacksonville spend time here and see how things should be done. We will return. read more

My husband and I just went to Hanwoo for opening day (at my husband's insistence). And oh my goodness, was it delicious! We have been to several different AYCE Korean BBQ places in the past, and this one definitely has some of the best quality of meat. The filet was extremely tender, and the New York strips was delicious. The beef bulgogi had great flavor and was also very tender. As soon as I bit into the corn dog, there was an awesome cheese pull. The cheese was sweet, and the hot dog was yummy. The hot dog itself was made of fish, but it did not taste fishy at all. The corn cheese had the same kind of cheese, so I was very happy I also tried the beef kimbap, which was filling but filled with fresh and pickled veggies. It made for a good bite, especially dipped in sauce. My husband had the chicken gyoza, and he liked it a lot too. The unlimited sides were awesome! My favorites were the radish, potato and egg salad, and spicy cucumber. Finally, for drinks, I got the Hanwoo Delight while my husband got the Mellow "Mango" (they did not have mango yet, so they replaced it with peach flavor). the fruity drink was our favorite! The yogurt one, I found, grew stronger with yogurt flavor as you drink it with your meal. All in all, very happy and will definitely be returning! read more

Had the most amazing experience with exceptional service by Michael. He explained the process and helped along the way to insure everyone was happy with their meal and kept the meat supplied to our table without delay. All the meats are delicious and very good quality. Would highly recommend for a unique dining experience. Come hungry because there will be plenty of food! The atmosphere is beautiful inside and everything is very clean. Throughout the meal they replaced our grill numerous times to keep the process smooth. read more

This restaurant is a super treat. The food is well presented, fresh, and you cook it at your table. Four of us had the early bird special. We ordered shrimp, pork ribs, chicken, and beef. We also had a couple of orders of the Korean fried chicken. The meal also comes with vegetables, and pineapple slices. Our severs did a great job explaining how to cook the food at the table, and how to order. They were professional, very helpful, and friendly. The decor was very well done, and perfect for a family get together, a date or a meeting. We recommend Hanwoo to anyone who appreciates a great and fun meal. We will be back. read more

As a korean myself coming from Maryland, this was probably one of the two locations to serve K-BBQ in my area. However, I was disappointed with the lack of "korean" meat if that makes sense. No, sliced brisket or bulgogi was rather shocking for a location that boasted offering korean bbq. Nonetheless, service was fine and the dining area was clean and modern. read more

I really enjoyed my first visit at the soft opening, so I talked my family into going with me to their grand opening week. It was cool to see all the improvements they made from the soft opening. This family owned (the sweetest family) Korean bbq is so delicious, high quality, and such a fun experience. I had a great time at Hanwoo. I have a severe allergy to Soy and milder wheat and peanut allergy. They were so kind and accommodating. I love Korean bbq because I get to cook it myself. I came during the weekend lunch special and was really impressed with the amount of food I got. It was a great time and well worth it especially during vacation. read more

Ambience, price, quality ingredients and friendly staff are what makes Hanwoo a special restaurant to enjoy eating at. We came across this restaurant during an Asian festival held at the Pavilion in Port Orange in Nov 2024. We are very glad we got to meet with the owners and decided to try their restaurant weeks after to celebrate my wife's birthday. We ate to our hearts content and were pleased with their approach to treating their customers with kindness and respect. Thank you for taking care of us each time we visit (gamsahabnida). Food was delicious, staff were very nice, place was very clean. We were initially a little surprised that the menu was limited & a bit pricey, but you got a Lot of food, for the money. Not a place we would go frequently, but a great special night out. For someone with a big appetite, you're going to have plenty of food. We just kind of wished we could have had a Senior option to split a meal. Two entree choices each for us was too much food. read more

I was honestly very impressed with all the appetizers and meats! Service was good and ambiance was nice as well. Came here for a birthday party with six people. This is at or above Orlando quality for authentic Korean barbecue. Run by Korean women. The food quality was excellent. The drink quality was good. Excellent. The service was good to excellent. Would highly recommend and will come back again. Get all the meats! All of the sides taste authentic. The seaweed salad side is fantastic. The pizza is far and away my personal favorite but the Italian beef, Chicago dogs, the meatball parm Sammie and the egg rolls are awesome too. Service was exceptional and very attentive.

Hanwoo is a fantastic new Korean barbecue restaurant in Port Orange, located where the Mellow Mushroom used to be. It's easily one of the best Korean BBQ spots I've ever visited. Despite being short-staffed with four servers calling in on a busy Saturday, the remaining staff handled the situation with grace and professionalism. Some patrons didn't understand that this is an all-you-can-eat experience and got upset about not being able to take leftovers home. Even so, the two servers on duty kept smiling and were incredibly attentive, ensuring our table was well taken care of. The food at Hanwoo is exceptional. Each dish was delicious, and the servers made frequent visits to our table, making sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend Hanwoo for any occasion--whether it's a simple lunch, dinner, date night, or birthday celebration. This place is truly one of the best. read more

I went here on a limb because I wanted to try something new, and I was not disappointed. The food was amazing and loved how I could cook it the way I wanted too. The service was fast and on point. The music was great to listen to while I was eating and the ambiance was just delightful, it didn't have many people in there so I was kinda worried then realized it was for nothing. Was warmly greeted at the door by the hostess. The restaurant was stylish, clean and the seating booth was comfortable and inviting. The waitress Taylor was prompt and eager to explain the menu to us. We had the early bird meal and were delighted. Plenty of fresh and tasty food.
