When you see all 5 stars and then one 2-star, you know it's a BS review. I have been a customer of Leanh and Nancy for 26 years. I have eaten easily over 2500 Chinese meals in my lifetime; I am 81. Yes, I consider myself an expert in Cantonese Chinese food. Their food is terrific. Well-seasoned, plentiful, excellent service, and the place is very clean. If you have never been here and you long for NY Chinese, this is your place. Whenever I come down to Volusia, I bring back their food for friends as well. I can think of only one other Chinese restaurant, Tropical, in SW Dade, that is the equal of Leanhs. read more

I came here with my family for dinner on Saturday night. Every table was full but we were a party of three and were seated straight away. It's called a Chinese restaurant but it's more like Asian fusion. There's a variety of Asian cuisine menu items and I wouldn't call this place authentic. I liked my beef and broccoli combo meal but what I really wanted was beef chow fun (not offered on the menu and a Chinese food classic). The wonton soup was really good. Very hot and good flavor. All the food for that matter was piping hot. We didn't have any issues here and our server was very quick on his feet. A lot of younger teenage looking people work here. They have a good business. Everyone at Leanh's was welcoming, friendly and very attentive. I had the chicken and pea pod plate with white rice which was awesome. My husband had the Mongolian beef and made it a combination plate (the combination plate comes with one egg roll and fried rice). We came here as a very large group and they were very accommodating. Everyone got their food pretty close to the same time and all of the food was hot. We had a great time here and I highly suggest if you haven't been here yet, you definitely have to try it. We had great food here this week. Service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean and nice inside. I love their hot and sour soup better than most other Chinese restaurants. One of my co workers suggested that I check this restaurant out for lunch. The service was prompt, food was fresh, and folks were friendly. Overall it was a good experience, tje prices were just a bit high... not rediculous, just a bit higher than average. The egg drop soup was thicker than I care for, but tasty. We've tried a couple of different Chinese restaurants in Ormond Beach over the last two years, and haven't found one we love. We had gone here shortly after moving here, and it's the best in the area. Fairly large dining room, located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Service is always good! They offer not only Chinese food but also Thai and Vietnamese cuisine choices; we've only tried Chinese dishes. Hubs loves the hot and sour soup, and the crab Rangoon and egg rolls are good. Our favorite dish is Kung Pao - both the chicken and tofu are good. read more

We were excited to check out Leanh's because we heard so many good reviews. When we arrived the (after a 50 min drive) I think we got the last parking spot. Went into the restaurant it was very crowded, between people waiting to be seated and ppl picking up takeout orders. We were seated at at little 2 seat table (in which I had to put my purse on my lap) next to a table right next to us. After about 10 minutes a guy came out with fried wontons. He took our drink order which was a bottle of Cabernet wine. Our server arrived later and asked if we were ready to order. I ordered the general's chicken and my husband ordered the Szechuan chicken. My General's chicken disappointedly had no flavor of general's chicken or any Chinese flavored chicken. My husband said his Szechuan chicken was ok but not spicy at all...which should have been. To me absolutely disappointing, we were hoping for great Chinese food but unfortunately didn't receive. Service was only so so, our server brought our plates, and bill...another let down. The only thing to look at in the restaurant was the buddha, no other Chinese/Asian decor. I'm happy we went but I personally wouldn't go back. read more

Ambience and service were excellent. We were very disappointed with the tom yum soup, however. As far as we could tell, there was no lemon grass, galangal, or lime leaves. The mushrooms looked like they were from a can or jar. There was basil instead of cilantro, way too many large chunks of tomato, and the dubious addition of baby corn and carrots. Not at all what one expects from tom yum soup. Suggest maybe sticking with Vietnamese or Chinese menu items. We did not try any of the Korean choices. read more

Drove 26 miles based on recommendations & enjoyed the best Chinese food in Flagler/Volusia/St John's country region. We enjoyed the Krab Rangoon, Chicken Wontons, and Vietnamese Egg Roll as apps. For entrees the Sesame Chicken, Gen Tso and Singapore Noodles (the later which were properly made with just the right amount of Curry). Service was friendly & attentive. Been wanting to try this place out for a while now. I've heard great things about it and finally was able to get there. Ordered take out. Honey chicken, pork fried rice, egg roll, wonton soup and a summer roll. Everything was absolutely delicious and tasted fresh. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the honey chicken was a little too sweet for my liking but still very good. Looking forward to trying more menu options! This was my first time visiting Leanh's. I thought the restaurant was very clean, the service was extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was lively. Definitely a popular spot to eat on a Friday night. Every table was filled around 7 pm but it only took us 5 minutes to get a table which was great. On to the food: everything came out nice and quick. The server starts you off with some crispy straws and sauce to get started with as a complimentary appetizer. The Vietnamese tofu summer rolls were the best part about the meal (I didn't get a photo of them ). We were hoping to get three of them since there were three of us, but the server told me they could only give us 2 or 4. Kind of a bummer. The Chicken in Garlic Sauce was fine but seemed to lack garlic or spice as stated on the menu. The vegetables in this dish were kind of weak, I would have loved some broccoli and onion! The Singapore Rice Noodle was completely missing the Singapore seasonings. The fried rice tasted very generic. Like something you'd find at a food court. I'd go back here again to try something different (except for the tofu summer rolls, those were fabulous) just to see if I ordered the wrong items. I have no idea why locals think this food is great Chinese food. I ordered the pork fried rice and was surprised to see it was yellowish in color! What didn't surprise me was that it was bland and didn't taste like much. I also ordered the Mongolian beef, and that too was bland. My husband ordered Kung Pau pork and it also lacked flavor. Both plates had too much salt which was probably to compensate for the lack of flavor. The food was not good Chinese food. What I did find good was the service. Too bad this one didn't work out. This was our first time here. The service was excellent. The bathrooms were clean. We ordered crab Rangoon, spare ribs, fried chicken wings, beef and broccoli that came with pork fried rice and vegetable lomein. We loved everything except the pork fried rice it was a weird yellow color, flavorless & a hard weird texture. We will for sure go back and try many other dishes just not the rice which we really don't care about anyway. The food was hot & fresh. We had a 25 minute wait. The place was packed. I've been in San Jose, CA for the last 15 years and options for Asian food of all kinds is outstanding. I've been here about a month and the options for any type of Asian food here is...less than outstanding. Biggest thing for me is I'm a Pho-natic! If you check my reviews, I have more Pho reviews than anything else. I'd have it weekly. And if you don't know what I'm talking about Pho is sort of a Vietnamese version of Ramen. Soup with noodles. Pho is usually a beef broth with different cuts and bits of beef, super long rice noodles, and some greens and sprouts to add a bit of complexity to the flavor. Anyway, it's been a struggle finding Pho out here and I was extremely skeptical when the restaurant has a menu covering Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Korean. But! I get the market is very different here and you gotta put stuff on the menu that retired white people know. The best news for me, and if there are other Pho fans out there in Port Orange...Du, the owner, is Vietnamese and though he admitted the options in CA are hard to beat, he has the love for it to offer a great quality. The broth is savory and I really enjoyed the beef ball flavor. Oh! and if you know you know - legit Vietnamese Ice coffee too! Finally, the atmosphere is nicer than you'd find in most Pho joints as Pho is typically a casual, even "fast" food. Good place to take your fam and they can play it safe with common Chinese dishes or try something different! I don't have any pictures because this lace really takes you to a place where when your spending time with your family all phones are away at least that's the experience for me everytime I go with my family, I always forget to take a picture, the next time I go I will have to make it a point to take pictures. I love this place the food is great they have soooooo many options and no matter what region of the country your in the mood for of what they have to offer everything hits. I am starting to believe there is no dish that isn't good, I haven't had too many as I am a creature of habit once I find what I really like. It I have a favorite the panang curry my goodness it taste authentic it's juicy spicy and flavorful their sesame is pretty good too for what is around in the Daytona area I often get the general tso chicken is good too their fried rice is good too I like the shrimp, their Japchae is good but I am very spoiled my friend makes it the best however when you don't have her to make it this is my next go to. Leanh's is by far the best sit down Chinese restaurant in the area. A little owned mom and pop Chinese food spot. Extensive menu options including Vietnamese and Thai. I do not believe they take reservations and at 6pm this place is packed! Service is always good. Ordered the egg drop and wonton soups, and crab ragnoons. What is pictured is the General Tao's chicken (dinner portion not the combo) which is quite large definitely recommend splitting. read more

We read the reviews and looked at the pics and said we have to try this place out. Yesterday we were in the area and decided to give it a try. We found it to be disappointing. I ordered the combination dinner of Subgum Roast Pork Ding. The Mrs went with moo shu pork. The good. The egg roll with my meal was probably the best we have had here in Florida. The hot sour soup. A bit heavy with the vinegar and low in the heat. I'd call it sour soup. My meal was vegetables with minimal pork. The flavor wasn't terrible but it was 75 -80% veggies. The fried rice was ahh. Kind of bland. The Mrs. Moo shu was presented plain. It was not tossed with any sauce before serving. A complete opposite of the pictures. The one thing on another table that looked good the egg fu young. The sauce looked like it did back in Chicago. I've had some brutal sauces on my egg fu young in Florida. Being originally from Chicago, the Chinese food scene blows Florida's out of the water. Why does the food here feel like it should be coming out of a hospital or nursing home kitchen. Had a craving for Chinese food. Searched the are and this was one of the higher rated restaurants so I figured I'd give it a shot. Walked in and they were busy, no problem usually a good sign. Woman walked by and said I'll be right with you. Ok thank you for acknowledging me. Party of 2 walk in behind me, another girl takes them right in. A party of 4 walks in, again I'm over looked and they seat them. The original woman who said would be right with me was busy running on the floor. Finally someone asked if I had been helped yet and got seated. Loved the fried strips and duck sauce. Was pretty good. Ordered a sweet and sour chicken combo with hot and sour soup, I always get hot and sour as it's one of my favorites. And an order of fried dumplings. Soup comes out, nice and hot, and was delicious. Dumplings came out next. Again nice and hot. They were very good. The sauce that they serve was it just was flat to me. Didn't really taste it but would order again. Got some hot mustard, absolutely delicious. Eggroll came out. Just tasted off, only took a couple bites. Then the chicken came out. It was hot but seemed over cooked. Chicken was just dry inside and not enough sweet and sour sauce. Tried the fried rice, again just dry and bland. Probably would not recommend that. Should have just stuck with the soup and dumplings. They dont even give the stafff a chance to prepare lol. and when you do manage to get in its like eating in a box of q-tips white heads everywhere, like sitting in a geriatric ward full of people who should be at Jenny Craig. I truly enjoy going to Leanne's for Asian cuisine. The main dining area reminds me of the traditional Chinese restaurants that I grew up going to in MD. You can order it to go, but I recommend dining in. The service my husband and I have received has always been great! read more
