We've had China 1 before and I really believe it has been better in the past. The restaurant is definitely clean, bright and open and the staff was friendly. We had company and everyone wanted some Chinese food. We placed a pickup order of egg rolls, wonton soup, egg drop soup, roast pork fried ride, General Tso's, Hunan beef, chicken broccoli and lo mein. Nothing we ordered tasted bad but it was so run of the mill, nothing stood out as being better than average. Maybe we hit an off night but we won't be in a hurry to order again from China 1. read more

Fresh food, reasonably priced and generous portions. No place has topped China King in Palm Coast, nevertheless China 1 will be the goto when I choose not to take that half hour drive:) read more

Solid takeout spot. Quick service, decent Chinese food. It took a while to find a Chinese food place we liked in the area and so far this is our favorite. The egg rolls and spring rolls stand out, they are consistently fresh and seems like they use clean oil every time because those seem to be our favorite with every order. What happened, the food has changed a little over the past few months! We ordered three different meals, an order of Beef with Vegetables (Beef and sauce was flavorless, and all Broccoli, 1 small slice of carrot), General Taos was excellent, Vegetable Mei Fun was good except missing the vegetables also (little pieces of Broccoli only). We ordered China 1 for dinner last night and I def DO NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone!! For starters it took over 70 mins for it to arrive. We were starving. One entree didn't even make it w/our order (which was our fav.) Our Bourbon Chix was dark, very chewy, thick sauce like a bbq. Sesame chix was pretty much the same only fried just to soggy. The egg rolls were super small and very soggy and greasy. We ate NOTHING!! It was the worst Chinese food we've ever had!! No joke! We didn't get out free stuff for ordering above a certain amount either. Just bad all around. $64 and went to bed hungry. Wish I could have given 0 stars!! read more

The 9$ wings included 3 wings, the soup was cold. The teriyaki chicken was chicken doused in pink sauce, not Teriyaki chicken. No egg roll with lunch special. Just fried rice, with no choice for plain rice, and some chicken meat doused in pink sauce. For these prices a relevant product is merited! read more

A joke. Tried the Chicken Chow Mein lunch special. Shredded goupey white onion and celery that seemed microwaved (no crunch), the chicken was sliced deli-style. Main flavor was salt. Pork-fried rice was yellow, big portion but only 3 shriveled up peas, 4 tiny pieces of pork, no flavor. Nice guys but, they have no idea what Chinese food should be. Should get 1/2 star. read more

We ordered via GrubHub last night. The order was for one Szechuan Beef combo (which includes fried rice and an egg roll), one house special lo mein and an additional egg roll. Only one egg roll was provided and it wasn't very tasty. Neither of the entrees had any flavor whatsoever - they were exceptionally bland. They also don't serve any duck. I would also like to ask that stop providing single-use plastic utensils in their delivery / to-go orders unless requested. It's a waste. The BEST local Chinese food! Everything is always cooked to perfection. My picky family always orders chicken wings, sweet and sour chicken and egg rolls (along with extras) and they're always amazing. The service is top notch. Owners are always extremely attentive and willing to acknowledge any modifications, not that their menu needs any; fast service included. I love the ambiance of a family owned restaurant. They're very warm and welcoming, whether you're a tourist or a local. Definitely give China 1 a try if you're craving Chinese food for dinner, or lunch as they have many bomb deals. read more

I stopped in 08/12/23 for lunch and goddamn I'm sorry I did, this place fucking sucks! That food was some of the worst I've ever had from a chinese takeout restaurant, it was absolute shit! I got honey chicken, vegetable fried rice and vegetable low mein. The chicken was fucking pathetic!, it is frozen battered chicken nuggets in imitation honey syrup no less. I've never seen that anywhere before, you guys certainly set a new low bar with that for real. Ugh this shit was so bad when it cooled down it tasted just like freezer burnt goods, rubbery cardboard shit in honey flavored dollar tree corn syrup. The fried rice is a joke, it's yellow rice with undercooked vegetables and I think it's frozen too because the side of white rice that came with my chicken that someone actually cooked was an overcooked sticky glob you couldn't break apart with a fucking fork. The low mein was a fucking horrible mess and I think it was old because it was dried out & stuck together just like the white rice, kind of like a jello mold that popped out of the bowl. Besides being an old sticky pile of shit the low mein was greasy and had almost no flavor. I mean like none! In fact after I emptied the container you could see there was almost no dripping from the low mein, whatever they used they used it sparingly.. You cheap fucks.. When I opened that thing I was hoping to make it edible with some duck & soy sauce but no such luck, the bitch at the counter didn't give me any so I was stuck having to eat it like that. Fuck you people! Fuck your business! And Fuck that shit you call food! My sincerest hope is the money I spent that left me fuming like this and prompted me to write this angry review prompts future diners to wise up and take their patronage elsewhere in a effort to put you assholes out of business. 2 1/1 stars I ordered some seafood takeout from another restaurant that didn't sell rice, so I looked on Yelp and found that this place was close to where our friends were staying. I placed an order for crab rangoon and 3 orders of white rice. I didn't realize they had two sizes for white rice ($2.25 qt and $3.35 pt), so I went with 2 orders of the pt size rice instead. While the hubby and friend went to pick up the orders, I received a call from this place to remind me that I had ordered the food. I told the guy my husband should be there soon. When my hubby arrived to pick up the food, he was told "you're late!" Lol, first of all, I was never told how long the order was gonna take and second, it wasn't like they were going to close anytime soon. The service could definitely use some work. While they were there, they asked how long the order of fried rice will take, and was quoted 5 mins. An order of fried rice was added, which I was reluctant to order originally because I really don't like the bright yellow fried rice, but theirs wasn't like that. Far from the best, but pleasantly surprised that it actually wasn't bad. The filling for the crabmeat was on the sweet side and of course imitation. While writing this review, I received another call to say I ordered food; told him it was picked up a long time ago. Lmao, I couldn't help but laugh. Wonderful people and great food. Never been disappointed and we order from here 9 out 10 times that we get Chinese. I'm Extremely picky and don't like a majority of places I've eaten at. The owner noticed we hadn't been in for a while (cash flow) and he gave my husband some free food and expressed how much they appreciate us and they missed us. I will NEVER go there again. I ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce... boy did I get a surprise! There is NO lobster sauce with this menu item! It is just a few shrimp thrown into a container of egg drop soup. Yes you read that right, egg drop soup! How they call that lobster sauce is beyond me. I brought it back and said I got soup instead of shrimp and lobster sauce ; they confirmed that what I got was what they call shrimp with lobster sauce. So basically I paid 13$ for a container of egg drop soup. I'm not sure why it comes with a pint of rice... it's soup! I feel like I was definitely ripped off, what a huge disappointment! Worst Chinese food that I have ever had. My sweet and sour shrimp tasted fishy and going bad. Usually restaurants put a nice light batter on the shrimp, but this had a heavy batter that was twice the size of the shrimp. While I did not get sick from the shrimp, my husband said his General Tso's chicken tasted fishy, and he had diarrhea the next day. The spare ribs did not come whole, so who knows if they were spare ribs. The egg foo young was spongy, and the sauce was bland. This was $40+ down the drain as we threw a majority of it in the trash. read more

One of the best chinese food places around. When you call in an order it is ready by the time you drive down to get it. Their chicken is always fresh and never weirdly crunchy like other places. The staff is nice and friendly. Their low mein is made with a thicker fluffier noodle. The only downside is that they dont deliver. I visited China 1 for the first time this evening. I placed my order online and they immediately called back to verify. The food is great and the portions are very generous. I also took advantage of the coupon they offer for a free quart of wonton soup, (they offer other free items, too) by spending a few dollars more on a second entree. If I had any complaints at all, it would be that the food was on the salty side. I did request all entrees to be non-MSG, and as far as I can tell, that was honored.
