I believe this restaurant changed owners sadly.. The service is still good as the old staff; friendly and quick. There are a few items that I have ordered and just didn't taste the same as before? This is the best restaurants I ever have in Houston. All the food here is excellent. The fried rice, egg rolls, the walnuts shrimp, the soup, etc. Especially the Bánh Bt Chiên, you guys must try it, cause this is the most similar to BBC in Vietnam. The service here is also amazing. As a Vietnamese local this was the best Mi Hoanh Thanh I've had in a long time. Not only was our server incredible but so was the apparent manager on duty. Little things give it a five star not just the delicious good including clean restrooms and tasty Vietnamese coffee. read more

Let me start off by saying the food here is great! I always get the rice cake and crispy fried squid. I've also tried the different rice plates and those too were delicious. But no matter what I get, I pair it with the soda chanh (lemon soda) to drink. But my only complaint...phone orders at this place has been it's Achilles's heel. They're not very good in English so it's best to have the menu numbers handy when ordering if you do not speak Vietnamese. I was once told, "call back later and order" when they couldn't get anyone with decent English to take my order. Also, I've called in a phone order (I had the menu numbers this time!) and I was told that there were no phone orders placed upon arrival. I just ordered once I got there, and it took about 10 minutes to get the food. I was then called back from the restaurant about an hour later, asking when I'm picking up my order. With that being said, I still gave this place 4/5 stars. Which is a testament to how great their food is! read more

There must've been some kind of leak in the kitchen or restroom or something that day. When we walked in, they had the front door propped open (this was during the summer), with portable fans set up on the ground. There was an overpowering musty smell. At the same time, our waiter slipped and fell as he was bringing us our food b/c the floor was wet. The food went everywhere!! I felt really bad for him. The food itself was good though. They were Minh Ky Mi Gia, yet they just changed the name lately to Minh Phat Pho since they are now selling one of the best Pho that I have ever enjoyed in Houston. Even though they are still new but I really highly recommend you guys coming here and enjoying their delicious Pho. I eat this place at least once a month. I love their Com chien Tu Xuyen - it's fried rice with an egg on top and bbq pork chicken shrimp and squid. Th staff is nice and the food comes out fast. I ate the catfish soup and added in the fish sauce. It was sweet, sour and spicy. I wish the catfish did not have bones in it but it was still very good. I would like to go back and try some dishes I am more familiar with. I would go again. Very friendly people. read more

I love this restaurant! I love their food and I love that the music isn't overbearing. The waiters are attentive and polite. The bánh bt chiên is extra crispy and delicious. I know it is a very simple dish, but I really like their bún tht nng ch giò. My BF, on the hand, always orders the fried chicken fried rice. Prices are also very reasonable and I've never had to wait for a table. They also keep their dining furniture pretty clean too, which is always a plus. Had the best banh bot chien of my life here! The crisp was perfect. The employees there are very nice and their prices are reasonable. I order a side of two eggs and rice and they charged me $4 instead of others places (a whopping $7.50) I somehow always want to go to this place on a Thursday but that is their normal off day so stay away on that day. Waited over an hour for our food and it wasn't busy at all!!!!!!! My mom and I ordered mi wonton, which was VERY SALTY, I couldn't even take a second bite. My bf ordered pho dac biet, which had way more noodles than meat and wasn't the best (we'll stick to pho dien) and my brother ordered com chien bo luc lac, com chien tasted super plain and it had more bell peppers than the actual meat itself! Good but still not as good as Tan Tan's. Wonton soup was just ok as well. I felt like the wontons were on the small side. They gave lots of bbq pork strips, but it was a little tough and lacked some flavor. They are a little skimpy on the café sua da, too. But overall, the staff was very nice. this place is close to home and my family didn't feel like driving far into chinatown for some good Vietnamese food. we got the banh bot chien to start. I don't know if i find it better than tan tan's, just different. the egg cakes were superrrrrr crispy around the edges and fried nicely. the sauce it came with was slightly too sweet, but overall it balanced well with the pancake. my dad and i both got the bun thit nuong bi cha gio. the portion size was GREAT for what your pay! it was large, and the meat was delicious. i've never had bun with bi and i thought it was a great addition. my brother got the hu tieu xao do bien and it wasn't the best i've had, but still good and again great portion size. overall, fantastic bang for your buck and the food tastes great! read more

I've been to this place three times. Spicy noodle (bún bò cay) - their special - was like bò kho (beef stew) with a more spicy taste to me. Last time I tried Cm Chiên T Xuyên (Fried Rice Szechen style) was really good, also spicy. Service was fast. Accept credit. read more

Wow, I was impressed by this place. I did want to try many times before but my friends said their food was just ok. Finally, I am brave enough to check it out. I really fall in love with their "bun bo cay Bac Lieu" ( Beef spicy noodle). It was a bomb to me. The broth is a little bit spicy,beef was so so tender. This dish is perfect for a cold day.
