This nail salon is right down the street from my house so I can just walk here. I tried not making an appointment and just walking in but they were so busy I had to make an appointment for the next day. That was fine. Just remember you should probably make an appointment in advance. I came back the next day. The salon is nice and clean and the staff is very friendly. I got a full manicure and pedicure. The massage chairs are really comfortable and relaxing. They did a great job on my nails and toenails. The prices are about on par with other similar nail salons and they offer all the same services for the most part. The whole experience took about an hour and a half. A little longer than I wanted it to take considering I was only getting gel polish and their basic services. Overall though it was great and I will go back soon for a touch up. read more

Called to see if I can come in for a mani. I explained that I previously had get and my nails were thin from all the shaving down and might go with a regular mani. Man was pushing for me to get gel mani or dip since regular mani "would not last long ". Granted that may be true, neither would the gel last as my nails are thin and the gel/dip would separate either way. They are true to their word even when people just come and walk in they respect the appointment time and do recommend that you make an appointment because they are always full but you can try to walk in but you just have to be patient or have the day to yourself to wait. I was not happy with any part of my recent experience here. 1. I had gone a in August for a brow wax it was fine. I was happy. I asked ( in front of my Mom-- ) what they charge for a mani/pedi.$32.00 which seemed reasonable. 2. I am a nail biter; yet find with a good mani I can stop or be discouraged from biting. I went to shiny nails ( by old Safeway in Brentwood) about a week and a half ago they did a great job. Bryan did my nails and was understanding that I asked about sanitation in depth because of health issues. I got a dark shiny red which did deter my biting habit however I needed something neutral for "real life" and only had a short time so I went to Happiness Nails by home at about 1:30pm on Wednesday. 3. Only person in there. Two technicians plus guy at the counter. I asked for a mani/pedi and that I wanted to upgrade the mani to gel. ( so I knew that portion would be $30) asked about sanitation did not feel entirely comfortable with the answers. There is a box for nail brushes marked "sanitation" by the sink however I did not feel that meant "sanitized," "undergoing sanitation," etc and did not get answers. I was pressured to get gel on feet. Due to health reasons; this was A. Unnecessary B. Not safe Pressure continued: I must have said five times that I was injured and could not have my feet scrubbed and just wanted pedi polish change. "Oh, it tickles?" No. not the problem-- severe nerve pain. Still with the pressure to upgrade. 4. The remaining dark red from previous mani can still be seen. It looks like my nails are dirty. I had washed them twice prior to mani so it was a lack of removing prior color. 5. I was charged $54. After I made it clear I wanted no foot scrubbing just polish removal and change. My feet loot awful-- they had to fix both feet (upon being asked) 2x. 6. I told them that it seemed ridiculous that they were charging me $24. For a polish change and a lot of cheap lotion. Bear in mind I am really nice-- I don't get bitchy for no reason-- this was the worst mani/pedi of a lifetime of getting them I will never return here for services. ( I am talking about the nail salon next to Callahan's & Aldinos btw-- hope I have The name right. Didn't bother to get a card. read more

If I could give this biz a 0 star, I would. This place has gone down hill for sure. I used to get my nails done there, and I thought they did great. Kelly did my nails for about a year. I started to want to try new things, I would bring in a picture and she would say sure she could do that. When my results didn't come close to what I thought they would be, she would argue with me and make me feel like I was wrong. The other night she did the same thing to another customer. I felt so bad for the girl who was trying to be nice when she said all of her pointed nails were leaning to the right, and she was very polite when she asked if they could be fixed. Kelly snapped at her and said if she didn't like them she didn't have to go back. I recently had a pedicure done somewhere else. They did a great job. However, because Kelly didn't cut my nails correctly, I often was in pain from in grown nails. My new pedicure place said that it was too difficult to correct my in grown and I had to let it grow out more. I went back to Kelly just to ask if she could please try and fix the in grown that she caused. I said I would pay her. She said, " No, only if I got a full service pedicure would she do that." Then she proceeded to insult the color I chose on my toes. The other day when I decided to give her another shot, when I heard her arguing with the other customer... I was getting a quick pink and white fill. She left dirt where my nails were lifting and she just put the acrylic over the lifted dirt. But I was in a hurry and I needed them done for a meeting. I continued to go back because it's right here in Discovery Bay and it is convenient for us community members. But Kelly totally takes advantage of that. She argues with her customers and I am only reviewing bc I heard her do it to another person. I won't be going back. I still tipped her well, bc I believe in always doing my part. This is my first negative review for any Business... it isn't my style. But I am so disappointed. Save your money and take a small drive to Brentwood! read more
