This was my first time going there and it was recommended by my sister. We booked an appt for a later time but decided to go earlier when they first opened at 10am. We called and they said we can come now and they can take us. They took us right away! Workers were really nice and friendly. Nail store was very clean, spacious, and organized. I hate giving just one star, but the service and quality didn't deserve more. I'm just trying to be honest don't waste your time or money here if you're looking for dip powder. The server Nancy, was friendly, and I know the owner is nice too. However, they really need to hire staff who know how to properly do dip polish. Nancy who did my nails seemed very tired and just wanted to finish quickly. Normally, you get a massage and a warm towel, but I didn't receive either. I asked for a manicure and dip powder, but when I got home, I had to clean up around my nails myself. Fast, friendly service. I came in around 1 pm without an appointment and I got a chair for a pedicure right away. Almost all the pedicure chairs were full so I probably got lucky. I picked out my color and then the pedicurist started working on my feet. This was my first pedicure in over 10 years so I don't have anything to compare it to but I was happy with my service and how my toes look. She took a little extra time to trim an ingrown nail for me too. Overall I enjoyed my experience and would like to come back and try a hot stone massage if they have it. Giving 4 stars for now because I wish I had more time to look at the "menu" of their services before I sat down. I wanted a hot stone massage and a scrub but just got a pedicure. I left a review raving about this place a year ago and since then, it's gone downhill. It's one of the places where the technicians are very hit or miss. If you're lucky enough to get a good one, great! But there are a couple techs who are quite bad. In the last year I stopped getting full sets & gel manicures. I'd only come if I have a pedicure emergency. My last straw is coming in and not even being acknowledged. I've since found another place, which I would share but I think it's against Yelp rules. If you're a regular here, then you're golden. It seems like they treat their regulars great. If you're looking for a new salon, I would pass. read more

The good: They're very nice Clean It's not too busy The bad: This is my 2nd time there with the same woman, and the gel went everywhere. Instead of cleaning it up she tried to take it off with the nail drill. This is going to look horrible as it grows out. I paid $45 for a fill and I should not be walking out looking like this. Finally got the time to write this review. What led up to this was a gift certificate I purchased for my daughter and granddaughter for their birthdays. I loved this place but the owner and workers allowed a foul- mouth, loud man to disturb and disrupt the place while he waited for his mother to complete her service. What was supposed to be a relaxing experience for my girls ended up quite the opposite. I went and talked to the owner, Em and her explanation and compensation was less than acceptable. I had been a client for almost 3 years and always tipped very well! Next, I go back for my services and I was no longer treated the same by my technician and did not feel welcomed. She always spoke in English to me, but spoke more to her peers in her native language which made me feel uncomfortable. I also had to wait 40 minutes even though I had an appointment. I went back again and my technician was busy so seen someone else for a gel manicure and it peeled back in 3 days. I returned and had them remove the gel. Done! That place went downhill in customer service and I'm never going back! read more

The service ruined it. Waited 30 min to be serviced, and then when the chair was finally ready there was no one tending to just me. One lady was splitting her attention between me and another customer. The water my feet was soaking in was cold. The workers just speak to each other in their language the entire time and make you feel like just a number. Overall very disappointed. Typical forgettable nail salon. I am sorry and this will sound very rude but...I give myself better pedicures! I went for a walk in and boy of boy. Some of the workers in the shop are grandparents. You have no upper body strength to hold and scrub a foot and as we age our eyesight just gets worse. The lady was sweet but nosey while trying to cut my cuticles she nipped me looking around instead of looking at what she was doing. I couldn't relax I had straight anxiety! read more

I came in and they told me 15 min wait...ok. Ended up waiting 45 min. Then as the lady is doing my nails, a group walks in that wants pedicures. So the lady stops with me and goes works on the girls pedicure. Then comes back to me WITHOUT washing her hands or putting on gloves and continues with my nails. That's kinda gross after she had just touched someone's feet... she was also rushing. Like please take your time after you had me waiting 45 min when you told me 15 min. The first time I came it was a good experience. No wait and I wasn't being touched by feet hands. Obviously they prioritize the more expensive service rather than who came first. I came in for a new acrylic set after growing out and snapping two of my previous ones off (luckily, my nail bed stayed intact and only the tips broke). I had my previous set done elsewhere but decided to have Em's do my new one since i had a good experience when I got a pedicure done at this location for a family wedding. I didn't catch the name of my nail technician, but she was a little rough when removing the remains of my previous set- scraping and popping off the acrylic nails. I grinned and bared it- not really able to hide my wince when she pulled the nails off the nail beds of my pinky and ring fingers. There wasn't really an issue when she applied the new set on- she got my desired length and shape- but it was everything else after that that made the experience a little unpleasant. The tucking of the acrylic nails, the filing with that nail drill - it was so rough. Mind you- I was being compliant and as still as possible and allowed her to maneuver my fingers as she needed. The drill scrapped against my cuticle a few times and she was digging in a lot to my nail groove. I wasn't exactly satisfied with how they initially turned out - the nail polish on the tips and sides looked sloppy and inconsistent so I asked her to clean it up a bit. She did so, and they looked a lot better afterwards- but honestly, I was just happy it was over - it wasn't very relaxing and the experience was a bit on the painful side. I finally was able to pay and walk out - my nails have never felt so raw after having an acrylic set applied. They look pretty good / the gel was a little heavy for my liking but not too bad. The reason for my 2 star rating is due to the pictures below: This isn't okay - eight hours later and my nail beds are still tender, my nail groove is red and swollen and two of the cuticles are cut and irritated. There really wasn't any reason for the rough treatment. I noticed the small cuts and irritation in the car after squirting hand sanitizer onto my palm. I disinfected the areas as well when I got home - incase they weren't practicing proper hygiene and sanitization on their tools. I won't be returning to this location for my next acrylic set. read more

When a friend recommended Em's, I was skeptical after my previous experiences. Now, six years later I am still coming every two weeks. I now bring my teenage daughter who loves Em's as well. They were able to see my quickly as a walk in. My nails look amazing and they didn't take forever. Great price for a pedicure and dip powder set. I have 2 complaints..there was a woman that worked at the nail salon that was giving herself a pedicure and another man was clipping his own fingernails. A little unprofessional to do in front of your customers. My other complaint is the massage time for my pedicure. I was only massaged for MAYBE 2 minutes on each leg, and no massage was provided to my feet. I go to relax and to enjoy a nice massage that I pay for and to receive only 2 minutes is not acceptable. read more

Made an appointment for a pedicure. Arrived on time, they were busy, so didn't get seated for about 30 min! Why agree with the appointment time when you're short staffed and an hour from closing with all your pedicure seats filled. Sat in the seat with feet soaking in cold water, since had to wait so long to get started on my feet. 40 min into my appointment and finally serviced. Over an hour just to get a pedicure and they have the audacity to rush me out and made a side comment about the tip I left. Never coming back! The owner of Em's Nail Spa has exceeded expectations for safety protocol, limiting capacity, she's constructed shields to protect customers as well as employees. I have been a client of En's for over 15 years, and feel so badly for the impact the pandemic has inflicted upon many of the Brentwood local businesses I love to shop! Disappointed in my experience here. Made an appointment arrived on time to wait for almost an hour before they started my pedicure. After my pedicure I waited another 40mins before they started my gel manicure. They were accepting new customers while I waited to get started on my nails. Then she nicked my thumb making it bleed. My toes looked good however my nails looked horrible! I had a maternity shoot the next day or I would have went somewhere else and had them redone. I asked for French tip and she had spots on the white tip part. My service for pedicure and manicure took 3 hours. Most of that time was waiting around which was extremely disappointing since I made an appointment. Then was treated awful while getting my manicure done. Not impressed, wouldn't recommend and wouldn't even give them a second chance as I usually believe in second chances because people have off days. Nope, not here. FINALLY ...!! I have been trying to find a nail salon in the Brentwood area for over 4 years, to get a pedicure. Many of the other nail shops I have attempted to get a pedicure, were either too busy, lousy service, questionable racist, not clean , and just plain RUDE. HOWEVER, today my search ended. EM's Nails is my choice for now and in the future. Went in today with my girlfriend, to get a pedicure. We were immediately seated and let just say this...... From the moment we met the owner and her wonderful staff, I knew that I had finally found the right place for my future pedicures. EM did. my pedicure and one of her staff members did my girlfriend. One of the best pedicures ever.!! The shop is very clean and modern....... Plus they had THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL ON THE BIG SCREEN TV. I am a sports junky..!! The total experience was outstanding. I'm in town visiting family and broke a nail and needed it fixed and wanted my nails polished. I had already taken the polish off so there wouldn't be a charge for nail polish removal. I asked that the nail I wanted repaired look as close to how my other nails looked (length, shape etc). I had to keep asking if they could shape it like my other index nail, if they could shorten it becuz it clearly wasn't even near the length of my other nails. After about 20 minutes and not happy how the one nail turned out, I asked how much for just the nail polish and 1 nail repair....she said "$35". $35 for that?!?! That's what I pay for for a fill and polish back home. I feel like I totally got ripped off when the place around the corner charges $3 for a nail repair and $7 for a nail polish. I will never go back to this place nor recommend this place! Just my opinion... read more

I don't normally get my nails done, I never have time nor do I want to spend the money. But occasionally I do about once every 3 months maybe. I came in for a pedicure and a shellac manicure. I am not a huge fan of color. I'm pretty basic with nudes, black and white. The pedicure was great and the massage chair works perfectly. (A lot of salons chairs that I've been too have been broken) the gal that did my pedicure was really gentle, I was too ticklish which typically happens with a pedicure. My manicure was alright, I wanted a little more out of it. I found out this location or maybe just the tech isn't to big on nail designs. I wanted a marble look on 1 finger for each hand. But she couldn't do it and gave me a bow instead. I did get nicked a little but that can happen. I just wish this salon (along with others) did better for designs which I feel like would pull in more customers. I will note this salon didn't have that powerful chemical smell from all the acrylic nails that most salons have. So that was really great. That's part of s reason why I don't ever go, the smell just makes me ill. read more

This nail salon is great! I just went there for the second time. BEST pedicure I have ever had!! I got the deluxe with gel. Was $75 but worth every penny. The first time I had Kathy and the second Kimberly. Both were great and visited. They did not roll me through in 40 minutes like some places do. I was in the pedi chair well over an hour. Having recently moved from Walnut Creek to Brentwood, I needed to get a salon closer to where I Iive. I tried a couple but when I found EMS I was over the moon. Michael is fantastic with my nails and many of them have given me terrific pedicures. I was saddened when COVID shut them down again after they spent so much money making sure the shop was set up with the plexiglass barriers etc. Can hardly wait to see them in 2021!
