    Shrimp rice bowl
    Cheryl O.

My first time here and it won't be my last. Stopped by for a late lunch and it wasn't too busy. Which was good since it was my first time I took my time looking over the menu. I tried the Bao. I ordered the bang bang shrimp in one and Kara chicken in the other. The shrimp was very good. Not spicy at all. Note:these shrimp are served with tail on. It's not extra crispy breading. Lol. My daughter created a bowl. She got the shrimp as well. Both of us agree with a few other reviews here. They do not put enough sauce on your entress. Next time we will ask for extra.

This place always hits, I come all the time while I am on campus. I always recommend this place to all my friends on campus. I enjoy coming here because of the nice customer service and the great AMAZING food! The bao buns were great, so soft and steamed hot when served. I enjoy the sauce, Korean spicy bbq, it has a great tastes not hot but bbq flavor. The kara chicken bowl is a build your own type of bowl which is very nice since you get to add three of your own toppings and your own base. I really want to try their other menu items, so i will definitely coming back. I always enjoy this place and will always recommend it, I'm glad I got to try this place out my freshman year. I always keep coming back!

Delicious, fast and fresh is how I'd describe Happy Bowl, located in UNCG's Spartan Village. The "build a bowl" concept allows you to choose a base, protein, veggies and sauce to create a healthy and delicious Asian-style meal. I went with the thai-style chicken, juicy dark meat atop a bed of perfect sticky rice, mango, kimchi, scallions and topped with a sweet soy glaze. I devoured the entire thing in short order. My wife's bulgogi beef bowl was equally impressive. The ordering here is easy... just walk up and select your goodies from a touch screen, while the team whips up your food fresh. The selections here are numerous, from hibachi to tempting bao (steamed bun) sandwiches. I'll definitely be back to see what else they offer.

This place is okay. Not sure I'll be back again. The lady on the register was looking at me like" you dont know what you want?" That answer would be NO. She wasn't too friendly. I ordered a chicken burrito with fried rice. The rice wasn't fried at all. I think they just put teriyaki sauce on it to make it appear "fried". I watched the guy make it and I saw him get the white rice out of the big rice steamer and add it to my burrito. After he added the rice, cheese, black beans, pico, mushrooms, and the chicken, he passed it to the grill cook in the back. The flour wrap was placed on the grill with everything in it and rolled. Needless to say, the wrap is soggy and everything is falling out, and it's also cold. Even the chicken. The wrap had a few grill marks on it, but it was still cold and everything inside it was also cold. I will be taking all the ingredients out of the wrap and just heating the ingredients up, when I get home. I'm sure I won't be back after reflecting.

This is an interesting place. Very casual and fast food style, Taco Bar bring a Mexican Asian fusion to a college campus. Today, I got the Bulgogi and Bang bang shrimp bao. I was overall surprised by how much I like the bang bang shrimp however I was disappointed with the bulgogi beef. The shrimp was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Topped with sweet cabbage, it was a tasty and filling part of my meal. Also, although it was advertised as spicy, it was definitely not spicy at all but I did not mind this. The bulgogi beef had really great flavor to it however the consistency of the meat was hard and chewy. I wouldn't get this again. Lastly, my friend tried their beans Bao and this is exactly what she got, just beans in Bao. She wouldn't recommend this either. It would be hard to advertise this as a fusion restaurant if they can't have good beans! IMO TLDR; good bang bang shrimp bao, mediocre meat, bad beans bao. Will give this place another try and order the poke next time.

Trashhhhhh, trashhhhh, trashhhh! I was so excited about this place and spent 32.00. Let me be the first to say this place is overpriced ! No flavor at all. I could of had a better meal at the Japanese spot for cheaper !!!! I gave it 2 stars ONLY because the lady was super nice and patient !!!!!

This is a cute adorable place to go for a quick Asian cuisine. The poke bowl is pretty big but even kids enjoy eating it (mine you my son does not like vegetables or tofu but willingly tried them!) also had the noodle bowl, and a few other dishes and they are decently portioned and pretty good for the fast service they offer.

DON'T try to ask for a water cup, lol

I got so excited about the concept, but I really recommend against this place. CONS: * Bao came out lukewarm and carelessly assembled. The Karaage Chicken was more like frozen chicken nuggets type of vibe. * Their ordering system is really bad - you can't see the menu while you're ordering. * They have way way way too many items (the cashier didn't know about half of the things we ordered). * Kimchi Fried Rice was really really subpar - definitely the worst kimchi fried rice I've had * They're totally disorganized. Multiple times while I was there (including for my order), they called someone's order number and then realized they were missing an item. PROS: * Chicken Wings were good! Came out hot and sticky and sesame-y. They came 5 minutes later than the rest of the order though, so that's why they were hot. * Thai Chicken, Bang Bang Shrimp, and Tempura Fish bao tacos were pretty good! Skip this place. It's a lot of waiting, a ton of disorganization, poor service, and underwhelming foods.

I had high hopes for Taco Bao and really wanted to give them more stars. They are located on UNCG's campus so keep in mind that parking is limited. The positioning of the menu above made it difficult to see and read the menu while ordering food. I would rate my bang bang shrimp rice bowl a 5/10. There was no hardly any sauce in the bowl and I had to pay extra for spicy Korean sauce. My bang bang shrimp tasted more like deep fried shrimp than the usual bang bang shrimp from other restaurants. My citrus Habanero chicken wings were just ok. The spicy Korean sauce was really good and made the dish tolerable. As other people stated, they do not give water cups so you either the $3 bottle of water or bring your own water :-( I'm not sure that I would go back. I've had better bao buns

A very good restaurant serving up Asian flare. Meals were packed with food. Really liked the eel dish; it was nicely seasoned. Lots of eel and rice, felt good about that. The pork bao was so good. Loved the sweet bun and tasteful pork. Grilled perfectly. Throw on a fried egg.. and bam, ties it all together.

Update for our 2026 annual visit:…read more We ate in this year and the service and ambiance matched the quality of the food we had last year. I have been looking forward to the World Ninja Championships so that I can eat here again and the team did not disappoint. I had the special, chilaquiles supreme and YES! Flank steak butterflied and so tender that I cut through it easily with a butter knife. They make the chips fresh for each order of chilaquiles and you can taste it. Generous amounts of every flavor that went into the meal and I left stuffed! Hands down, my favorite place and I have a feeling we are making a second trip here this year for sure! First impression as you walk in, or look at images of the menu: AUTHENTIC! First impressions when you bite into your food: They nailed the first impression! I had the lingua, tripa, pez, and Pastor tacos. My family had the California burrito, chicken and beef tacos, and the Enchiladas Mexicanos with mole and salsa verde. We also added a side of guac and chips. Guac: thin mixed avocado and perfectly sized chunks mixed in with the tomato and seasonings. An absolute must! The 4 tacos I ate were succulent to say the least. The tripa was thin and crispy, but you could taste the rendered fat in them. It had the texture of perfectly cooked bacon. Al pastor is one of my favorites and this one did not disappoint. Then there was the pez taco that was just the right amount of crispy without being an iota overcooked. At last I ate the lingua taco. It melted in my mouth and I immediately wanted another. I don't even like mole sauce, but I couldn't stop eating the mole enchilada. Aces, hands down. The California burrito was phenomenal and had the perfect amount of each ingredient and a delectable amount of heat and sweet cream sauce. The chicken was obviously hand shredded and had equal amounts of larger chunks of meat and thin pulled pieces to soak up all the flavor in endless nooks and crannies. If you have not been here please do your palate a flavor and stop in. The value far exceeded the price of our meals and we plan on coming here every year when the World Ninia finals rome to town

Extra parking is located in the back. The guac is the best! Perfectly seasoned and definitely not scooped from a tub. Tried the Carne Asada, Pastor, and Chorizo tacos. YUM! First off, this isn't just a random food truck. There is such an incredible story behind it. It's run by Gary and his best friend Alex, who have been friends since grade school back in Mexico City, Mexico!! You can feel that deep history in the way they run their business. There's a level of trust, energy, and authenticity that you don't usually see, and it trickles down to the entire team!!!Every employee I interacted with was genuinely happy, welcoming, and proud to be there (which says a lot) especially during these times. They've also set themselves up in some of the best spots around. I visited : 1) Summerfield Farms. 2) Oden Brewing Company. At both locations, you're not just grabbing food, you're getting a whole experience! Plenty of parking, plenty of seating, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. Live music, dog friendly. The menu is simple, affordable, and done right. We got to try 4 different tacos, their queso dip, and their churros, and everything delicious! The meat was seasoned to perfection, super juicy, and full of flavor without being overcomplicated. But what really made this experience unforgettable? I got invited onto the truck to make my own churros!! let me tell you, that is not something you get to do every day. It was hands-on, fun, and honestly one of the most unique experiences I've had, collaborating with another business. By the end of it, it didn't even feel like a transaction anymore, we became friends! Taco Bros isn't just serving food, they're building up thier community. And that's something you don't come across often.

Overall the truck seemed very clean and hygienic for a food truck. The staff was incredibly friendly and organized. The food came out quickly and was piping hot. The prices are a bit high which is common for food trucks. Guac and chips was $10 and the chicken quesadilla was $14. One thing that would have been a nice touch was Jarritos. The chicken quesadilla was good but could have used a bit more seasoning. It was good sized and stuffed full of chicken, onions, peppers, and cheese. Overall we enjoyed Taco Bros and would definitely try them again at another event.
