Chicken and broccoli Wonton soup Spring roll
    Chelsea H.

First time trying today. We ordered on Uber eats for delivery. It was meh to okay IMO. Menu and prices as expected. Unfortunately, the broth for the wonton soup was totally bland. Chicken and broc was eh. The sauce on it wasn't my favorite and the yellow style fried rice is not our preferred fried rice. Confused by ordering online from Uber eats, required to pick a side and pay extra ? So we chose egg roll, but then we did not get the extra egg roll. The spring roll was yum but tiny! I was also surprised to see prepackaged wonton strips vs homemade, but they were still tasty and actually stayed crunchier in the soup.

    Chicken Fried Rice

This has got to be the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my entire life. I got Chicken Fried Rice, Hot and Sour Soup, and an egg roll. The chicken fried rice was flavorless, colorless, and vegetable-less. The only vegetable it had were big chunks of yellow onion, no carrots, peas, or scallions like one typically expects when getting chicken fried rice. I've had chicken fried rice at plenty of places in all different states and this is the absolute worst. The photo shows what was left before I threw it in the trash. The Hot and Sour soup was not very hot or sour. Instead, it was an overly salty broth. Not much of anything else in the container with the broth. St. Thoroughly unimpressed and waste of money. Don't be fooled by the 4.0 overall score. Recent reviews are way more accurate than reviews from a year + ago.

    71. Beef with Broccoli Fried Rice

The BEST Chinese food around. I drove by this place for over ten years, never really wanting to check it out. Looks unassuming on the outside. Once I got married, found out my husband's family loves this place and now I'm obsessed too. Takeout food is always HOT, and they pack the containers very full. Great portion sizes. Amazing customer service and the restaurant is run by very nice people. This is my favorite local place to eat now. It's so good

The restaurant is so messy! Boxes and cups all over the place.

Was this chicken or a cheaper meat. Heavy on the sauce and crispy. Not sure but my last order was really stringy so I will not order again.

I ordered 2 lunch specials at $8.55 - Scallion Chicken and Beef in Garlic Sauce. Each came with Egg Fried Rice, Egg Drop Soup, and 2 small Spring Rolls. The Scallion Chicken was not a bad dish, but neither did it reach the level of a good dish. Why is it so hard for Chinese American restaurants to cook Scallion Chicken in a manner that does not result in gobs of gooey? And who decided that that particular cut of carrot was the right one for stir fries it is almost always overcooked! The Beef in Garlic Sauce was simply a flavorless mess, loaded with extraneous vegetables, including the particularly awful baby corn. I have had this dish at Jade Garden and China House, and both were very tasty! The baby corn is,in fact, regular corn that is picked while the corn is still immature, and has not yet developed the sweet corn taste most folks love - in fact, it has no flavor. It is loaded into stir fry dishes in Chinese American restaurants to make the dish seem larger. While it is used in China, it is not a staple. Most such corn is used in Thai, Indo-Chinese, or Chinese American dishes, mainly stir-fries. Most of the world supply comes from Thailand, and it is either canned or frozen, rarely if ever is it fresh. The Egg Drop Soup was very under seasoned, and the Spring Rolls needed a good amount of hot mustard. I may try some other items here, but certainly not these two!

The menu has a great mix of familiar Chinese dishes alongside more traditional regional specialties, and it's clear the restaurant isn't afraid to lean into bold, spicy flavors. The ambiance is cozy. It looks like they turned an old Biscuitville into the dining space, which is quite charming. We ordered quite a few dishes, including the steamed soup dumplings, ox tongue and tripe with chili sauce, Singapore mei fun, intestine with chili pepper, mapo tofu, kung pao chicken, and the intestine noodle. Everything was well prepared, but the standout was how the restaurant balances more "American Chinese" flavors while also staying true to some more traditional chinese flavors as well. The chili-forward dishes had plenty of heat without overpowering the other flavors, and each dish had its own distinct character. The ox tongue and tripe appetizer and the intestine dishes were great options if you're looking to try something a little more traditional. The portions were generous, making it a great place to order several dishes and share with the table. If you're used to American Chinese food, this menu offers a chance to branch out and try something different while still having plenty of familiar options available. If there is a dish I would not order again, it would probably be the soup dumplings. They tasted just like the store bought frozen variety that you can steam at home. Nonetheless, New Sichuan Restaurant is well worth a visit if you're desiring flavors that somewhat lean towards more traditional Sichuan cooking.

They are very willing to do substitutions for vegetarian meals, I even have had tofu Dan Dan noodles there. The spicy dishes are indeed spicy! The spicy wontons were room temperature, and I'm not sure if they're supposed to be, but they were the only thing we haven't loved. We had the hunan roast pork and vegetable lo mein, and both servings were generous in quantity. The flavor and quality of ingredients was very good. There's other serviceable Chinese food spots in the area, but they've always been consistent with their lunch service and as a sit down option, we prefer them over almost anyone else in the area. My wife got the General Tsos chicken with fried rice and wonton soup. I got the Szechuan beef with fried rice and it was delicious. Their beef is always cooked very well for thin cuts. Not chewy, very tender and flavorful. The veggies that come with it, the sliced celery, green peppers and carrots were cooked a little under to my liking, but it paired well with the beef flavor and the sauce its prepared in. Didn't get the chance to taste any of my wife's food but she was happy with it. Their food is always prepared very well anyways, so it was no surprise. Wasn't much of a lunchtime crowd, so the setting was quiet and we enjoyed it. I wish they'd bring their Sunday buffet back. Pre covid, we would visit them after church often and got to sample most of everything on their menu, which was also very good as well. That's the only complaint I have I suppose.

The version served here is among the best, nearly as good as the best in the area, that served at Jade Garden in Advance. The dish here adheres to the straight forward simplicity of processing quality beef, onions, and peppers well seasoned with a soy based sauce. The fried shrimp are small, fresh tasting, and well breaded and well seasoned. This isn't an item often thought of when considering Chinese American appetizer, but I would suggest you consider it , especially when a bit of hot mustard or Chinese hot sauce is added.
