We were pleasantly surprised by Poke Dream. Our poke bowls were fresh and satisfying, and on a slow Sunday night no less. We'd definitely come back. My wife found Poke Dream on Yelp. At the time of writing this review, it averages 4.2 stars with 16 reviews. We were looking for something close to our hotel (Courtyard by Marriott), quick, easy, and open past 8pm on a Sunday. Poke Dream is open until 9:30pm daily so that's plus. That said, we were also skeptical of how good a poke restaurant in High Point could be at that hour. Turns out, pretty decent! This is a small place that's mainly designed for takeout. They do have indoor dining with seating for 15, maybe 20 people. During our visit, the space was clean and brightly lit. There was a TV in one corner and a couple anime scrolls (e.g., Sailor Moon) that decorated the walls. The space has been renovated and modernized from what it used to be. Poke Dream opened in November 2023 and is located in the Office Depot shopping center (Peters Plaza IV) on Eastchester Dr. It's in the old Dragon City Chinese takeout restaurant space. I had the Salmon Oasis Signature Poke Bowl ($13.85) and my wife built her own custom poke bowl (same price). My Salmon Oasis bowl came with salmon, spicy salmon, avocado, edamame, sweet corn, and cucumber with spicy poke and yummy sauces plus tempura flakes, sesame seeds, and nori strips (dried seaweed) on top. My wife got double salmon and assorted ingredients including avocado and crispy onion. There are four bases to choose from: white rice, sushi rice, brown rice, and salad. We both got sushi rice. I was impressed by both the number of ingredients offered and the freshness and quality of the ingredients, particularly at the time of our visit. Our bowls were tasty and well balanced, and they really hit the spot for what we wanted at the time. If anything, our bowls were a bit on the sweet side, but I wasn't complaining. It probably had to do with the combination of the sushi rice and sauces. For food in High Point, I was happy. Service was attentive and speedy. There were two Chinese guys who mainly hung out in the back, behind the curtain. They operated this place like a well-oiled machine. We dined in and I was very comfortable inside. I also got a refreshingly cold bottle of Diet Coke ($1.95) from the self-serve drink fridge. We only saw one other customer during our brief visit -- a food delivery driver picking up an order. In addition to poke bowls, Poke Dream serves ramen, udon, various Asian appetizers and snacks (e.g., gyoza, tataki, shumai, and even cha siu bao), and mochi ice cream. This little hidden gem has been open a little over 2 years and thank goodness for reviews because that's exactly how my family and I ran across them! A quick little search for what was around the area. It IS a small establishment with about 3 tables for dining in - which is what my family of 5 did. The gentleman working was super attentive, the food was made fresh and in a timely manner. I tried the Dragon Poke Bowl which was absolutely delicious! Their Honey Wasabi sauce was sweet, but still held a hint of that earthy spice. Price was fair for the portion, which doesn't look big, but will def fill you up! read more

Convenient location and parking lot... gave this place a go on a whim and wow! Really big portion! And honestly a super extensive menu of other rice dishes and ramen bowls. It's a small place of maybe 3-4 tables and looks like an old school Chinese restaurant turned poke, ramen, rice joint. Delicious and quick - affordable too. First of all, I was not greeted he was rude and off putting, he immediately asked for a name, but I was placing a order so I said, "well I want to place a order" and then he said "ok what do you want". After that I waited and got my food and I wanted extra white sauce so I asked and he said "well do you have a dollar", kind of rude. I ordered steak hibachi and crab Rangoon. It was 22 dollars. The inside of the place is nice but the service isn't. I found that once I got home I barely got any sauce for 8 Rangoon and I got like 10 pieces of steak in a bunch of vegetables. I was craving a poke bowl and decided to give Poke Dream a try. The establishment is very clean and staff were kind and helpful. I went with a build your own poke bowl that was just what I was craving! Delicious spicy tuna and fresh toppings. Perfect portion as well. My children both ordered white rice with chicken and yummy sauce. They really enjoyed it as well. We noticed other the menu other things we'd like to try, like ramen, hibachi, and wings. We went with a pork ramen and a seafood ramen, respectively, and both featured a well-balanced variety of toppings: edamame, sweet corn, green onion, fish cake, and egg. Both used the same excellent, hearty broth as well, and it was very satisfying on a cold and rainy night. That said, the pork was chewy, the shrimp were small, and as with their poke bowl offerings, Poke Dream charges more money for less food relative to other establishments in the area. I order the same thing all the shrimp ramen and spring rolls. On 4/8 I picked up my online order. The spring rolls were crispy but soggy inside. The shrimp ramen was really greasy this time and the shrimp tasted funny. I ate half my meal but the shrimp really tasted weird like spoiled. Unfortunately this meal caused me to fall ill at work. I end up puking my guts out, idk if it was the greasy food or weird tasting shrimp. I ended up leaving work for the night. It felt like I had food poisoning!! read more

I had a bowl of tuna over salad. It included about 2 ounces of tuna and had zero to no taste. Portion was appetizer side and I spent 12 dollars. This was takeout so I will add a reluctant star. Consistency is so important in business. Simple rule the is rarely followed. read more

This place is excellent! Their ramen, udon, and stir fried variants are wonderful! The service is great and the people remember you. -1 star for their fried rice; up until very recently, they used the exact same recipe for fried rice as they do in Chicago and New York, i.e. it was DELICIOUS! They COMPLETELY changed the recipe now to use yellow rice and no egg (which gives it its signature flavor). I was VERY disappointed with that, now the fried rice tastes like every other bland joint in the Triad. Otherwise, a MUST try! read more
